That's way too complex a cutie mark.  It should be a simple, single object or pattern of repeating simple objects (a la Fluttershy's butterflies).  It's too cluttered and not immediately obvious what it is.  All that being said, the cutie mark is probably the least of your worries with that OC.  That's all I'll say though since this isn't a thread for OC review

Wasn't Rainbow Dash based off Firefly?  Obviously there was a Rainbow Dash before that, the "RAINBOW DASH ALWAYS DRESSES IN STYLE" G3.5 horrorshow, but I thought the "new" Dash was supposedly based on her

I don't really have any specific plotlines I'm hoping for, other than moar Wonderbolts and maybe a Trixie appearance, but I really do hope they tone down the fanservice.  I'm fine with the little winks to the fans like Derpy appearing in the background, but something like Magic Duel, which was just wall-to-wall fanservice, is a really bad road to go down (though I didn't actually think that was a terrible episode)

Jimmy McNulty from The Wire.  Perhaps the most brilliantly written character in television history.  He's an incredibly talented detective who's also self-destructive, alcoholic, arrogant as all hell, reflexively defiant of authority that he deems illegitimate and a thousand other things.  He's a jerk who solves cases to prove his intellectual superiority to others, but at the same time genuinely cares about doing "the right thing", even if he can't get out of his own way and stop doing bad things himself.  This "most fascinating" thing could also be applied to probably at least a dozen other characters from that show.  It will never be equaled

Sports.  I spend hours a day watching them and studying them almost as an academic subject.  Unfortunately, it's next to impossible to get a job working in that field unless you have connections or are willing to work 80 hour weeks for an $18,000 a year salary in inside sales for several years, so I'm relegated to simply being a fan and discussing sports with other people that are just as obsessed as I am.  Also, related to OP, that's pretty cool.  My best buddy is a meteorologist, he doesn't do storm chasing or anything, but does a lot of severe weather stuff

Football Manager.  Oh god I'm such a nerd.  I have logged more hours in that game than any reasonable human being ever should.  I have a problem

The state of OC making as a whole is pretty piss poor, people use it as wish fulfillment instead of actual character creation, so they make characters that they wish they were instead of well balanced ones, and no one would pick to not have wings or magic if they could choose otherwise

Just my opinion, but your OC seems to be trying really hard to be edgy.  Personally, I would dial it back a couple notches.  Black is also very, very overused when it comes to OCs, and pairing it with a dark blue is not a good combination.  Assuming he's an antagonist, I guess I can forgive the use of black or another dark color, but two dark colors that are so similar to each other strains the eyes.  If you look at some of the dark colored villains from the show, they mix darker colors with lighter, Nightmare Moon is black mixed with a lighter blue and purple, and Chrysalis is black with green and teal

No request, just wanted to say that this art looks pretty good.  Not sure if it's a stylistic decision or not, but the legs are a little jagged on some of them.  Overall really good stuff though, I like the style, and this is coming from someone that's a real stickler for "show accuracy" in art

I thought the songs were generic, maybe marginally above average at best.  Not Ingram's finest work.  And definitely not good enough to get me to actually sit through that movie, based on everything I've heard about it

I'm a veteran 4channer, with all that implies (/sp/ is my primary board).  Based on what I've heard about this site and read in the rules, I doubt I'll fit in here, but I guess we'll see.  Got into the fandom in the old /b/rony threads back in spring 2011, and then moved to Ponychan (among many other things) where I've spent much of the last 2+ years and have been heavily involved in multiple pony sites

I'm a massive sports nerd, I've devoted an entirely unreasonable amount of brain space to knowing everything there is to know about the major 5 American sports (football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer), because clearly I have prioritized my life well.  When I'm not doing sports things, I study public policy and economics because I'm weird (that's not even what my degree was in), drink a lot of booze, and listen to music (indie).  So a pretty eclectic mix of things there

Personality wise, I would say I'm fairly close to how Dash is, mixed in with a bit of frat bro.  I'm very blunt and often harsh, but fiercely loyal to people that have earned my trust and respect.  Assuming that rule on swearing is actually enforced here, I fully expect to be warned multiple times for that, I have the vocabulary of a longshoreman (probably a safe bet that that has something to do with my time on imageboards.  It's just habit for me now).

But yeah, I'm rambling now.  Happy to answer any questions people want to ask me, otherwise, I'll be lurking the boards to find out a bit more about what goes on here
