  1. Thankfully, I run Linux most of the time. Usually when it crashes, it's my fault. xD

But this game you tried to alt+tab on, were you running it fullscreen? That can cause crashes for various reasons, especially if said game changed your display resolution or color scheme.

  2. Twilight is best pony in my opinion. She's just awesome; my favorite.

Objectively? We will never know. But think about it: what would this fandom do if the argument were settled? xD It'd be like what the Joker said in "The Dark Knight" about the dog chasing the car and not knowing what it'd do with the car if it actually caught one.

  3. Besides being an introvert, I'd say my greatest weakness is my tendency for functional fixedness and stubbornness when it comes to problem solving. I've literally spent 5+ hours analysing and trying to solve a single homework problem, wasting time I could have been spending on other problems. I've improved on this greatly since beginning college, but it still gets me from time to time. And not only that, because I'm so "fixed" on a certain aspect of the problem, I usually don't get it solved because I've narrowed my train of thought to not consider other possibilities.

  4. Yeah, Baby Cakes is the only episode I do not like, but due to other reasons, namely I don't care for babies. They're annoying. That, and the fact that the cake twins are not earth ponies bugs me for some reason. And Pound Cake being able to fly so quickly is weird as well. I think it was just done for comedy, but it didn't really follow through for me.

As for the episode that I still like but like the least: Mysterious Mare Do Well for most reasons stated previously. Dash is way to arrogant, and that cliff...I'd be okay if they only used it once, but twice?

  5. One of my favorite things to do when deciding which episode to watch during lunch is go to www.random.org and let it choose a random number for me (1 through the current number of episodes.) Whatever number it lands on is the episode I watch.

So because of this, I've watched several episodes 5+ times.

  6. I personally love the new homepage and overall feel of youtube. Viewing someone's channel however is atrocious. I personally find it annoying that whenever I click on a video to watch from someone's channel, it wants to start playing the whole playlist, and forces you to watch the video outside of the channel. What if I want to watch the video on the channel's page? And not only that, but if you want to see what the person has been doing via their feed, your video stops playing unless you have it in another tab/window.

So my only complaint is the new channel layout.

  7. The daughter seems like a hopeless case.

As a computer geek, seeing the laptop shot made me very sad inside D: I was right with him until he did that; went too far when he shot the laptop. As a "tech-savvy" father, I'm sure he could have come up with other ways to ground her from things like facebook, such as setting up some kind of home server that blocks her IP from accessing certain websites. Or hey, he could have done something like install Linux on her laptop (with no gui) and laugh with delight has he watches his daughter try to make things work. May not teach her anything, but hey. Better than shooting a laptop.

  8. Hello! I'm RagingTwilight. I just joined yesterday, but I'm already enjoying the atmosphere here. Conversations are intelligent, and most people seem really nice! This forum will be a nice break from all the studying I'm having to do this semester.

    So yeah...hello guys xD

  9. I don't even get the Hub, so I have to watch all my episodes on Youtube.

I'm probably wouldn't watch in on the Hub even if I got the channel though. From what I've heard, the Hub is not exactly the world's #1 network. But yes, it is WAY too early for a marathon. Why not start it the marathon a little later, let it run through the new episode then continue it for a couple more hours? Or are there other shows that have new episodes premiering?

  10. I guess I like this show because it reminds me of what cartoons used to be like. Being a 90s kid, I grew up during a decade when tons of new and original cartoons were being produced (both on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon). I can't stand most cartoons today, so FIM is like a breath of fresh air, as well as a link to the past. So, I guess it's out of nostalgia, as well as the humor and art style.

  11. Well, I convinced myself to watch it early. I didn't have high expectations for the episode (synopsis didn't grab my attention,) but it was a pretty good episode overall! A few oddities here and there (Pony Arcades, Tara Strong's first line [lower pitch and more damped than I'm used to hearing from Twilight] and Scootaloo and Applebloom's long necks when Sweetie Belle was singing while grabbing the pole,) but the humor was spot-on. Big Mac and Cheerilee's mushy moments were cringe-worthy, but so much so that they were actually funny. And Sweetie Belle's "OH COME ON" when their initial plan didn't work...priceless.

As for the ending, I love how they left it open. Could go either way. Can't wait to see what kind of speculation/arguments this will bring amongst the fandom. xD Definitely gonna watch it again Saturday.

  12. Although I have heard of people who would probably post articles like this, I'm leaning towards a troll. He just seems to be overdoing it, even by fundamentalist means.

For a comparison, compare what this person is saying in their blog to this excerpt from the 1984 Documentary(?) "Deception of a Generation."

But like I said...people like this really exist. Anything and everything is a threat to them and their religion.

  13. My biggest issue with the first three generations is (especially G1 and G3) simply the way the show reeks of the stereotypical girl stereotypes, like tea parties, everyone wanting to be a princess, etc. I recall G1 having some plot-oriented episodes, but the overall quality of the cartoon was lacking. Of course, for it's time it was probably a decent production effort overall. Anyway, the constant stereotypes make me cringe whenever I've tried to watch an older generation show. Thankfully, G4 is in a league of its own.
