  1. @@Mentis Soliloquy, "Hmm, I guess that was mildly entertaining. Fun to watch, but I feel sorry for that Cat. He did well and from the looks of it he may have swallowed some sea water. I hope he'll be okay." After the race had finished, Ryo went looking for Shizuko. It wasn't like her to stay away for this long, the worst case scenario was already in the back of his mind, but he knew that a more likely reason existed. His search took him to the front of the beach having looked at most other places, being small, Shizuko was difficult to see in the crowds. Lucky his nose picked up her scent which eventually led him to his sis. "Here you are Shizuko, I was looking for you. You didn't get into any trouble did you?" Ryo's eyes drew over to Bass, having just noticed her presence. 'So she was with Bass all this time. I guess that explains it.' Taking not of her Swimsuit and how well it complimented her colouring and figure, Ryo blushed a little, noticing that he was staring a bit too long. "Umm, thanks for looking after Shizuko for me. This was a very nice thing for you to do. I hope you don't mind me saying, but that umm, swimsuit looks very nice on you. The colouring contrast is a great choice, makes you stand out among the crowds. And umm, well, it really compliments your uhh, figure." Ryo looked of to the side slightly and scratch his check nervously. He hadn't really be in a situation like this before and worried about coming across as too forward or rude.
  2. @@Ranger22, "If the line between military Grade and Civilian Grade weapons was very thin, doesn't that mean that the difference between High End military weapons in terms of Ballistics and what the civilian population had access to was also very similar? I guess what the point I'm trying to make is that it doesn't seem likely that Civilians would have weapons that should have been in the hooves in the military. No matter the situation, the best weapons and the majority of the weapons would be in the hands of the military. It would be too counter productive to let civilians have them, which would impact the amount of weapons available for use in the front lines and defence force. Civilians may have had guns, but I don't think they would have access to Miniguns, .50 Cal Rifles, Fully Automatic or High impact rifles, grenades would never be distributed among the general public. Your point falls rather short of the mark, Civilians pre war may have had PDW grade weapons, but something more suited for heavy use or that was needed in the hands of the military, IE: Most of what I own here. Just because I don't have the stupid explosive weapons you adore so much, doesn't male them fall any less of the mark of being High-Grade military weapons. And if you question how well preserved they are, simply inspect them and you'll debunk yourself. Yeah sorry my armoury isn't up to the standards of an Elitist Metal Brained Techophile. And clean up this damn mess. I'm being generous giving you access to my armoury, despite my detesting your very existence. Have some manners and maybe not make a mess out of my armoury. Do they not teach decency when you're a Squire?" @@Meson Bolt, "Nice find. That is a mid distance thermal imaging scope. Capable of highlighting heat signatures and providing an aim increase over long distances, I wouldn't attach it to the .44 since its more of a close range weapon, but keep the scope with you, it may come in handy later on."
  3. @@Meson Bolt, "Yeah, those parts should be here." White walked over to the back wall and pulled out on of the boxes from roughly the middle of the large number he had. Inside was several components for Revolver type hang guns, ranging from grips, barrels and sights. " This should have everything you need, if it doesn't feel free to take some scrap and make something yourself. @@Ranger22, White tilted his head back and looked at the Paladin. Chuckling slightly. "Oh, and I suppose that from the description I gave you can find out something that I false about my statements? That is indeed what you are insinuating of course. Do tell Paladin Fuck Wit. What's so wrong about my storage of weapons?"
  4. White stood back, having followed the group from behind shortly after they left for the armoury. Standing behind them as they inspected the arsenal of weapons he had stored here. He grinned to himself behind his mask and took a step forward. "It seems like everyone is enjoy this little surprise I had for you. I promised that I would deliver you weapons and that is exactly what I have done. These are some of the most high-grade, well preserved, pre war military weapons you will find in the Wasteland. My armoury is completely open for all of you in this room. And what you see here is not all I have to offer. Along the back wall are boxes willed with broken parts and scraps. Back outside in the two rooms adjacent to this one, you will find a weapons crafting bench and an armour modification bench. We don't have a power armour station here Paladin Smart Ass. Once the Radiation storm up top lets up, feel free to take whatever weapon you wish and take it out for a test fire. We have enough ammo. Just note, I don't have everything here. We lack powerful ordinance like missiles, grenade belts. I also don't have any laser or plasma based weapons. Guns or Grenades. We do have a surplus of Frags and Pulse grenades, so take all you want of them. And I think some of you had doubts about this armoury being true. Didn't you?"
  5. @@Mentis Soliloquy, "That's actually a good point. From the looks of things I don't see any aquatic based creatures participating, So its possible its spit into two or this is by chance a coincidence. While this is an event it doesn't feel like they would organise two event just for that reason, so I think its the latter. I don't know much about organising an event." Shizuko continued to watch the race as it happened. A few of the contenders really stood out among the rest, considering the amount of races here, it wasn't really a surprise that some would be better than others naturally. Who would win thought was still to be determined and anyone would take it at this point.
  6. @@Mentis Soliloquy, "The ones who are here now and looking in this direction are hoping to see a swimming competition. A small race basically to see who's the best swimmer. Though I do think that both participators and on lookers have ulterior motives than Enjoying the sport." Shizuko scoffed, looking back over the water. It was taking much longer to start than she had originally thought. She continued to eat the ice cream while she waited.
  7. @@Mentis Soliloquy, Shizuko could notice a slight change in her voice, while she wanted to play on it, she settled for a smirk. "Bro is not wearing anything special. He couldn't really pull off anything like what most of the guys are wearing. So just some long shorts and a T-shirt. Were you hoping for something a bit? *giggle* Anyway, let's get closer to the water. I want to have a good view, well who wouldn't? Maybe I'll get special treatment because I'm only kid and be allowed a front row seat. Being young has its benefits. Come on." Shizuko started to walk through the crowds, slipping in between the people as she made her way closer to the front. Ryo, much further back, decided that he was as well watch the contest. He should do festival things at a festival after all. Standing close to were he had been sitting, he could get a decent view. Not the best but at least he could see. "Should be interesting to say the least."
  8. @@Mentis Soliloquy, "Thank you Bass." Shizuko happily took the Ice Cream and started nibbling on it as she normally does. Wagging her tail and twitching her ears to show her happiness. "This has a really strange taste to it. A combination I never thought possible. Ice Cream. Deep fried. The concept doesn't work in my mind yet here I am eating it in front of me. This defies everything I ever thought about Ice Cream and thermal energy. But I don't care. It tastes good. I need to pester Ryo to get me more of these later. Anyway, it looks like the swimming contest will being soon. You feeling like watching it or would you rather not?"
  9. @@Mentis Soliloquy, "I can guarantee that Bro would say the same thing about the contrast of colours making it appear vibrant and allowing you to stand out." Shizuko was going to make some more sarcastic remarks, but her eyes lit up when Bass made her an offer? "Would you ask for me please? And if they're free, could you get me one? If not, I left some money back with Ryo. Please?" Her usual cool an sarcastic attitude seemingly completely vanished, replaced with one of a lot more energy, she was acting much more like a child her age would.
  10. @@Mentis Soliloquy, Shizuko turned to face the voice she was getting more comfortable hearing, Bass. "Oh hi Bass. We've only just got here. I had to put on some of that horrible sun block cream because I have skin and not a coat. These Ice Creams are the first thing that caught my nose. The thing I though, I don't know if I need money or not, I'm nervous to ask and this swimsuit doesn't exactly hold pockets. Thanks for the compliments on my tail. I work hard to keep it nice a clean. It's really not as easy as it seems." She took a quick moment to look at the swim wear Crystal had bought, and quickly thought of a way that may wind her brother up a little. "I may be wrong, but I think Ryo will really like that swimsuit of yours. in fact, I think that seeing you in one was one of the reasons he agreed to bring me here in the first place." She turned her head slightly away with a small evil grin and a small giggle. 'Bro is either going to love me or hate me for that.'
  11. @@Ethan Sawyer, "Take me back about 5 years ago and that kid would already be dead, disembowelled, dismembered and disintegrated. That Kronos guy would make for some good scrap materials. Well whatever. I'm old and washed up, this will most likely be the last noticeable thing I do before I die. Failure or success. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory and have something good to my name. Even though, I'm just the person who tells the story, while those mercs do the hard work. Ain't no place in history for me. Alright, time to get out of this slump I got myself into and so some work. Could you do me a favour, run back and tell everyone to follow these specific instructions. I'll write it down for you." Levitating an old note pad, Quill and ink, White began to write what he was saying. "In 10 minutes time, those who can, leave the room and turn right. Continue down the hallway and take the first door on the left you come across. Take the stairs down two floors. Go to the very end of that Corridor until you reach a large shutter door and open it." White ripped the note out of the book and passed it to Scarlett. "Can you do this little thing for me please?"
  12. The two found a nice little spot away from most other people. I was still a little crowded, but on days like today, they didn't have a choice but to get over it and move on. Setting two towels down onto the beach and placing a smaller Parasol in the middle of them, large enough to cover most of the towel, small enough to not obscure anyone else. The two sat down as the confetti marked the soon to be beginning of an event. Swimming by the looks of it. Neither of them are strong swimmers, so they decided to pass on it. "Alright Shizuko. Now we're here, you no what we need to put on." "I'm a fox. I don't need to wear that cold cream." "Be that as it may, our type of fox has human skin and we must care for it as human skin. We don't have a coat protecting us from the sun like most other Kitsune. I promise I won't get any in your tail." Shizuko scrunched up her nose, making a pouty face at her brother, a last ditch attempt to avoid the sun block. Ryo simply shook his head and Shizuko gave in, moving over and sitting next to Ryo. (Riveting story about applying sun block goes here). "Done. Now go and enjoy yourself. Don't wonder about too far, you know you get too terrified to be near anyone when I'm not about for a certain amount of time." "And you turn into a blabbering moron, incapable of forming a sentence." "Fair point. Just remember, if you start to lose track of my scent. Come right back here at once. We need to be able to find each other easily, particularly in this crowd." With words exchanged, Shizuko gave Ryo a large hug and rushed away into the crowds, heading towards the food stands. The smell of it all enticing her young nose. Particularly what she could only think was deep fried Ice Cream. When she arrived at the stand, she could only look at what it served. She didn't know if she needed money or not and this swimsuit didn't exactly have any pockets.
  13. With most emptying off of the shuttle back onto Destiny, Specter left the shuttle, if he could feel emotion, he would be feeling defeated. It was because of his calculations and his oversight that everyone got worried and panicked. It was his fault for filling everyone with this sense of dread and sorrow. If he had just been more perceptive and thought about the possibilities of the shielding being charge by the sun up to a point of being able to survive the close contact, non of this would have happened. They could have avoided all the drama. While he was happy of course to be wrong since everyone was still alive and they had power again, the point still remains that they could have avoided all of this unneeded sorrow and dread. "I need to get access to the ships main data base. I must learn everything I can about this ship so that I never make this mistake again." Mel was taking mental notes of everything that had happened during the time he had been here. He was monitoring everyone on mainly mental stability. He knew that being in this kind of situation could have some drastic effects on a persons mind and he wanted to make sure everyone stayed healthy. Becoming unstable in this environment is the worst thing someone could do. He already has some concerns. Even though he didn't have a face for expressions and doesn't really have a mind of his own, Mel was concerned for Specter. To him it seemed like the AI had some issues. Considering the age of the AI, it was a good assumption to make that the bot was suffering from mental deterioration in his processing and ability to reason. "Maybe I should tell someone about this. It seems like he could be dangerous."
  14. @@Ethan Sawyer, A cult maybe a bit extreme. A fan club sounds better.
  15. @@Pucksterv, You may not think you're that popular, but you're definitely the most fabulous of the bunch.
  16. @@Ethan Sawyer, "Oh it's fear alright. The fear that I may have lost the one place I feel safe. The only place in the world I can call my own. My home. This bunker is irreplaceable to me. It's important to me. I don't want to lose it. So knowing that its safety could very well be at risk. Frightens me. It honestly does. Yeah, I'm going soft in my old age."
  17. @@Ethan Sawyer, "I understand the concept behind what you're saying. While admittedly, pre war it may have been possible to attempt something that drastic and dangerous, but in the modern world we just don't have the tech to do that. It would require a full neural connection between my brain and the entire system, updated regularly, monitored for chance. Plus what I think, what I do and what I say are three very different things. If I was somehow successful in doing such an amazing feet of science, the security would most likely shoot everyone. With the exception of the two maybe three people in this world I see as true allies and friends. Passing mercs would never get into my subconscious as friends. If I didn't need their help I would have just let them be or killed them on sight if I saw them as a threat." White sighed as he slumped back in his chair, while the change was only small, using magic to type on such a small keyboard was slightly irritating. He could use his cybernetic hooves since they have a function which could be useful in this situation, but that secret would have to wait. "Honestly. I'm just pissed off. Picture yourself in my situation. 10 years you've kept this place a secret. Your own sanctuary in a world that tries everyday to kill you. Then some random merc with Split Personality disorder and several mental issues that need not be mentioned, brings a complete stranger into this place, he may be a Dweller, but that's the problem. His kind fresh from the vault do not how to keep their mouth shut. I'm not a bad person. I don't want to be a bad person. Is it wrong of me for wanting to protect my home? Why am I bothering even talking to you about it. I'm a 37 year old washed up mare, I've been living in this wasteland for the last 22 years of my life. Why did I expect you to be able to understand? You've been here for less than a day, since your little display at R-7 I could only guess. Don't act surprised I know about that. It's my job to know these things after all. Why am I still bothering to blabber on to you about all this? It's not like you care. Maybe I'm just looking for justification to continue living as long as I have. Maybe I've gone soft in my old age."
  18. "Oh, trust me. I can make you regret saying that. I may very well follow that up." White stood down, now not showing much hostilities to either of the two. "Just remember what I said kid. you stay in this room, I don't really want my turrets wasting ammo and I'm not in the mood for cleaning up blood stains." @, "As for you Kronos, you're getting the same treatment. You can stay in this room and only this room. I'll edit the turret coding once again and remove you off of my systems. You go out of this room and the security systems will tear you apart. Again, I don't want to waste time cleaning. I need some time to decide what exactly it is I'm going to do with the two of you." White left the room and went back to the control room from which he coded the turrets, to rewrite and delete some lines to remove Kronos from the friendly targeting system, registering him once again as a hostile to be shot on sight.
  19. "Well here's a little story for you. Last time I tried to help someone out who I didn't know, I lost everything. Everything. I learned the hard way that the only one you can trust, is those who have clear motives. People you can read like books. So I don't help people I don't know. Too dangerous. Too risky. You're just a misguided fool. Shooting you right now would be a mercy." He took the gun away from his head. "You're unstable. You're a risk. You really are on your last chance now. Piss me off again and you won't even know you're dead. And I will be the one to end you. You don't get a choice in it."
  20. "You. Don't. Ask. Questions. The condition you are in are irrelevant. Let's take a quick look back at what you have done and the very reason I am holding a gun to your head, itching to pull this trigger and end your pathetic existence. You brought someone into my home. Without my permission. I explained many times how this place is a secret. You bring in him here has broken the secrecy I have spent 10 years protecting. That alone is enough of a reason for me to kill both of you. Give me a good reason as to why I shouldn't kill both you and this kid."
  21. "Don't punch you? Don't punch you? Kid, you'd be lucky if I did something as mild and kind as punching you. You being here means that the security of this place is in danger. I've kept this a secret of more than 10 years, if I let you go now, that just means that the risk of you telling people about this place is very real. I a should take you outside, chain you up and watch as the rain slowly dissolves your body and melts you down into a puddle of goo. But for now" White tapped his pipbuck and the entrance to the bunker closed shut and locked on its mags. Security lock down level of security. Impossible to hack. "Now, you're stuck in this room. You can't go back because it's locked, you can't leave the room because the security will fill you with bullets. You stay right where I can see you." Turning away from the new pony who is now officially a prisoner. He walked over to Kronos as he lay on the couch, White took his pistol out and started pushing it against his head. "Oh what will I do with you?"
  22. Seeing the new pony he had never seen before waltz into his home without a single regard for who owns it, not giving a single concern for the security of this place and the realisation that this now means the secret has been revealed. Going from a standstill to a near sprint in a flash, closing the distance and hitting SATS targeting. Locking on to the new ponies head, White threw a critical punch, the assisted targeting combined with his Cybernetic hoof, if It didn't knock him out cold, it would surely severely daze him. "Who the fuck are you and what are you doing in my home!?"
  23. With the countless lines of code written to reprogram the turrets to not fire on the ponies within the group, White was done with the programming and the turrets would no longer fire on the ponies he knew. Taking a long stretch in his chair in front of the terminal, EDEN approached him, the screen flickering to life, showing a very familiar and welcome face. Accompanied by that voice he could never forget. Blooddrop: "Hey White. Whisper your sweet nothings to me would ya?" White: "Hey B. I'm not going to do that. The words don't have the same effect without physical contact. I don't want to leave you with a bad impression. Besides, the fake voice and lack of face will make it weird. " Blooddrop: "Come on, take the mask off for me please?" White: "Not a chance. I'm not taking the risk. With the security system seeing them as friendlies I don't have much room for privacy now." Blooddrop: "Aww, such a shame. But I understand much to my dismay. How are things progressing? Plan is going well?" White: "We've had a set back. A BOS Star Paladin has wondered into our little group. The more I learn about them, the more dangerous they seem. Their 'leader' is Crackshot. I think a few of our people would know that name. We know it very well. He's dangerous. The plan for the Snipers is still going as planned, equip the prisoners with standard .308 snipers, the volunteers give them .50. Hide them well, make them as invisible as possible. With the storm moving in, it may be dangerous to move about in the mountains. I'm going to do everything I can to keep them here until morning. Give you more time to prepare. Send an envoy to the Brotherhood and inform them about the dangerous of sending Paladin's or knights our way. We don't want to have hostilities with them, but if they constantly send people our way, we will defend our home with force." Blooddrop: "Will do. I'll let you get back to it. I don't want to put you in danger. I'll see you once you're back home." White: "Bye babe." White disconnected the call, stood up and walked back to the main room. "Alright everyone. The turrets have been configured and you're free to roam about. Where is Foray? And has Lord shit head himself turned up yet?"
  24. With the short time they had allotted themselves passed, the pair were finally ready to go to the beach. Packing everything essential, towels, sunblock and the like into a small bag for Shizuko to carry, while the other more plentiful items such as a Camera, note book, an inflatable ring among a plethora of other misc items in a slightly large bag for Ryo. Ryo had changed from his standard clothing into the pair of Blue, three quarter length shorts, a while T-shirt and a pair of sandals. Shizuko was wearing a dark blue one piece swimsuit also with sandals. Arriving at the beach, Ryo felt a slight sense of dread ahead of them. It was crowded, what else did he expect. Shizuko in the other hand was rather calm about it, but Ryo knew that was only because he was with her. When either of them are without the other for too long, they become a mess. "Alright, you wanted to come here Shizuko and I am no longer fully against the idea. First call of order is to make sure we can get a nice spot, possibly somewhere we don't bother many people and somewhere less crowded. The middle of the beach or more towards the water front is the popular choices since they have the least obscurity and are close to the water. The edges aren't as popular since they don't give the best view and experience." "It is a simple choice then isn't it? Shouldn't we look for your girlfriend first?" "Funny Shizuko, let's just go." The two slowly walked along the edge of the beach, getting a good look over everything that was going on. Spotting some interesting looking people along with way. Best to not say anything if he doesn't want to anger someone. (Finally, feel free to @ me)
  25. Giving Crystal a wave as she left to go and do her thing, the siblings looked at each other and nodded, knowing exactly what it was they needed to do and the most effective method of doing so. "Alright sis. Tight time schedule. Shop, home, eat, change, festival. All in 15 minutes or under. Listen to me carefully, this isn't going to be easy, are you up to the task? Do you accept this quest?" "Stop being so over dramatic and wasting time." *Defeated sigh* "I can never win in a battle of words with you. Fair enough. Let's go." With the clear goal in their minds, the two made a quick dash to the store. Once inside it only took them around 2 minutes to completely fill a cart with everything that they would need to tide them over for two more weeks. In retrospect, it wasn't a lot of items in the first place, and most of it was snack foods. Buying what they could, they kept a brisk pace as they walked back to their home. Along the way, the sounds of the festival crossed their ears, sounds like most things are in full swing now. But it doesn't sound like anything major is happening yet. They should still have plenty of time. At the more southern end of the small town, the two finally made it back home. (I'll just skip the rest of what they're doing because its rather self explanatory. I'll bring them to the beach in other post. On another day.)
