Rough Pathway

This episode was amazing! Everybody was in character and they were just great overall. The pacing was really good and this episode was hilarious. I'm liking the new writer haha. A more proper review to come later.

Surprisingly, I haven't gotten any reactions. Maybe people just haven't noticed. I'm a 14 year old girl though, so people probably don't think its too strange. I'm always a bit paranoid of what they think though. Even my family barely reacted.

Favorite: Sparity. Please don't kill me, I have my reasons. I personally think that they're adorable together, and that their personalities compliments the other one's personality perfectly. Its a cartoon, and I don't see anything wrong with it. Least favorite: Either Doctor Whooves and Derpy or FlutterMac. Doctor Whooves is a crossover character for the most part, and people only ship the two together because of the whole same last name thing. As for FlutterMac, I don't know I just never really liked that ship. People mainly ship them together because of them being both shy/quiet, and I really just don't care for that ship. I like CheeriMac better, anyway.

She won't outlive her friends; Meghan said that herself. Twilight isn't immortal like Celestia and Luna are. There is still the possiblity that some or all of her friends will die before her, but she still has the normal life span of a pony.

I'd love to make a pony animation; I don't know what about, maybe one with Trixie in it. I'd also love to work on other fan made animation projects. I could probably learn how to animate and all, but I'm a bit lazy. It seems like a lot of work to do, anyway.

This is great. Princess Luna Princess Twilight Sparkle Rarity Errr Fluttershy I guess... We can't let Discord win by default, come on and vote people.

Yeah, I've had those same worries as well, but honestly there is no good reason for them to cancel this show. It is still the most popular show on the Hub, Hasbro is still getting a crazy amount of money from this, and it would be stupid to cancel it. For right now, lets just enjoy season four, and not worry about season five until once this season is over. You'll miss the present if you worry about the future, and I know you want to enjoy this show while we still have it.

I hated Twilicorn at first. During the hiatus I slowly excepted it, but I still didn't like it. I love it now after seeing the premiere. My worries about Twilicorn are gone, and I just really like the idea now. That was my problem with it, actually. I was worried about how they would handle Twilicorn, but they handled it very well in the premiere. It makes sense that shes an alicorn now, and I'm really excited to see how they'll handle it this season. I'm glad there has been a change, as this opens up new possibilities for future episodes, and it changes up the formula a bit.

The pacing. Its just too awkwardly paced, especially the part where Twilight was told to go back to Ponyville. I also would give the mane six a bigger role in this, considering they mostly just stood around, other than Applejack to an extent. I wouldn't make Pinkie so random, either. During the NMM flashback they were supposed to not know Twilight was there, but it seemed like they did. They took pauses in the conversation which doesn't make sense since Twilight isn't supposed to be there. I also thought it took Twilight too long to figure out that it was a flashback. I don't think I would change anything else.

Its simple. People like Rainbow Dash so much because most people can relate to her. Most bronies are guys, and Rainbow Dash is a tomboy. People like characters they can relate to. Ask anybody why their favorite character is their favorite character, and most people will say its because they can relate to that character. Another example is Fluttershy. A lot of bronies can relate to her, since shes so shy, hence why she is so popular. Rarity is pretty much the opposite of a tomboy, and upon first impression she seems shallow to most people. Some people think shes that popular shallow girl stereotype. So for Rarity, most people can't relate to her, and she seems shallow to some people, which in turn makes her very unpopular. Shes actually a very deep complex character, which is one thing I love about her, but most people don't look hard enough, and don't realize that.

Hmm, well it wasn't as funny as it was interesting, but there were a few moments. I laughed a little at Spike checking off the checklist in his sleep. It was also quite amusing to see Discord singing Winter Wrap Up, and when Discord was like, "You could at least thank me!" when he released those poor ponies. Oh and Discord in that maid outfit, can't forget that.

Okay, now that I've calmed down and have some time on my hands, here is my review (obvious spoilers ahead): This episode was really good. It showed us some history which we've been starved of, and I think they handled Twilight's new role being a princess very well. The strongest point of this episode would have to be the NMM flashback (I'm a bit biased here I'll admit) and the end when they had to give up the elements of harmony. Theres also a lot of flaws with the NMM flashback, but for right now the things they did right. I'm really happy they were so edgy with this. I was really not expecting that. That scream actually startled me and it sounded very real. I really like the way they handled this. As for them giving up the elements of harmony; I thought that was really mature of the mane six to do. I'm also glad that this opens up a whole season long story arc, and that they're changing up the formula. The elements of harmony was getting old, so I'm excited about this. Other good moments and things they did right in this episode include: Discord, the lack of a song, (see the part marked with a * below) improved animation, and the voice acting to an extent. No need to explain any of that. Now for the cons... There are a lot of flaws, but somehow it still has managed to make it into my top 10 episodes. The biggest flaw in my opinion was the pacing and the way they handle some of the characters. The pacing was really awkward with some moments being too fast paced and some too slow paced. Its understandable given that they only had 44 minutes, and they were a bit rushed to make this. *I'm really glad that they didn't include a song because if they did, they wouldn't of had as much time to flesh out the plot. I'm happy they realized their mistake with MMC, and didn't make the same mistake over again. I still think they could've handled it a bit better though, especially with the scene where Twilight was told to go back to Ponyville. The mane six didn't think that through that much, either. I'm not happy with how they handled some of the characters. My problem is that they didn't. Other than Discord, and Applejack to an extent, Twilight was the only one really doing anything in this. The others were mostly just standing by. I also don't like how Pinkie was acting throughout this. She was a bit too random, and kind of over the top. Overall, I give this a 8/10. A few things were too rushed, there are flaws, but it is amazing for what it is. They did a great job in reassuring us, and I have faith in the show staff to bring us more great episodes like this.

I can't see it being "new" elements of harmony. That doesn't make sense and is very unoriginal in my opinion. I also can't see it being wings and horns so that the rest of the mane six can be alicorns too. If they did that, the show would be jumping the shark. -_- Plus, I see no reason why the rest should be alicorns. Theres no need. Honestly, I don't have a clue whats in there. Maybe it contains some kind of ancient secret; I'm not sure what the ancient secret would be, but maybe something about the elements of harmony. I have a feeling that its some kind of artifact. I'm also thinking that it could be some kind of old book or powerful spell. Not sure what that would have to do with anything, but its a possibility. One thing is for sure; that box has an odd shape.

I think it is. If not, its in my top 3 at the very least. There are two other old cartoon shows that I love and I'm not sure if MLP:FIM matches up with those, but its pretty close. Its the only running show on television I like anymore, so out of shows still running its definitely my favorite.

I didn't like Alicorn Twilight at first, and I was worried about the direction the show was going in too. After seeing the season four premiere though, all of my worries are gone. Twilight is very modest about being a princess, and the show (from what I can tell) is still focused around friendship. All throughout that episode they were talking about how they needed each other and all of that. Plus, we already know that there is going to be lots of episodes focused around the other mane six, and I highly doubt Twilight will take the spotlight away from her friend's episodes. I know with Twilight becoming a princess they're going to focus on that a bit, but they'll focus on her friends and their friendship too. The premiere showed that it isn't just going to be about Twilight being a princess, and the writers wouldn't do that, anyway. What exactly in the premiere made you worry?

Oh there will definitely be more bronies. With all the new inevitable fan works going to be produced, and a bunch of people talking about it, we will no doubt get more bronies. I'm sure there will be a few people still talking about the end of the brony community, but not very many. When season four ends we'll probably see some people pop up and say that its ending, but thats only to be expected during a hiatus.

These two episodes did not disappoint. I think this is in my top 10 episodes now. I'm still a bit confused, but from what I can gather that was amazing. My only complaint is that it felt a bit rushed. My favorite parts are the NMM flashback, Discord in the maid outfit, and when Twilight was told to go back to Ponyville. I just love emotional moments in episodes. I'm so excited and happy that they're doing a season long story arc. I love that they're changing up the formula this season.

I'm not sure if this counts as a headcanon, but I made a theory about a week before the premiere that Twilight has to bring about Twilight in the premiere. I'm not one that cares for making headcanons up that much, so that was pretty much the only thing.

I missed a few parts, but from what I did see that was amazing. I can't believe they were so edgy and dark during the whole Nightmare Moon/Celestia flashback. Discord was great, and overall its just amazing. This might just be better than the Return of Harmony. I can't even function properly right now. I thought I was going to be disppointed, but wow I was wrong. This was just great. Maybe later I'll post a proper review once I've watched it again, and I calm down. I wonder if theres going to be a story arc..

I am the happiest person on the Earth right now. This is so much better than I expected. Not that I thought it was going to be bad, but I didn't think it'd be this brilliant! I am fangirling so much right now haha
