Concept - The concept of this episode is to bring the Equestrian Games idea back and have the Cutie Mark Crusaders become involved. This alone is an ok concept. Nothing too special until you focus on the continuity. Bringing back the Equestrian Games is a GREAT idea, as is bringing back Ms. Harshwhinny. It reminds me of how the entire first season had continuity with the preparations for the Grand Galloping Gala.

Execution - The execution was really good, but not perfect. I loved the idea of the students vying for the spot of flag carriers, and the focus on the CMC was great. I especially love how Scootaloo was focused on the most, since she hasn't had enough focus in the series yet. I love how the episode began to play on her self-consciousness centering around her inability to fly. Up to this point this self-consciousness hasn't been as big as it should've been, and I love how that was brought to light. A big problem though is that this episode sort of built up to a cutie mark reveal for Scootaloo and didn't deliver with it. I really hope one of the CMC gets their cutie mark this season. 

Pros - The concept, execution, focus on Scootaloo, Scootaloo's insecurity, Equestrian Games, Ms. Harshwhinny's facial expressions

Cons - Shallow one-dimensional bullies are back, a little too much stuffed into one episode, NO CUTIE MARK FOR SCOOTALOO!

Overall Rating - 8/10

One of the best episodes.
I laughed, i (briefly) cried, i had fun.

Things i loved about it:

- Addressing Scootaloo's disability
- Continuity (Rainbow coach, Harshwinny + the games, Snowflake (Roid Rage), etc)
- The continued high standard of animation/lighting
- A nice song, which is so beautifully sung that i couldn't possibly forget to add it to my ipod.
- Intentional mockery of a bully's simple brain ("We already called them blank flanks!")
- The routine itself, which they did an awesome job with.
- Rainbow's great characterization (and the running joke about her lack of professionalism)
- The cutie mark crusaders FALLING OUT. That's a major plus point right there because it's something they NEEDED to do at some point (IMO).
Even the best of friends fight, and it was GREAT to finally see something like that.
- Rainbow's intervention, while rushed a little bit, was very in-character and came off as pretty damn awesome on her part.
(Also, the element of loyalty said you never leave your friends behind. That was amazing, writers.)
- That heart to heart between Dash and Scootaloo brought a tear to my eye due to the feels.
- Badass scooter montage (which could also possibly be showing that her training made her stronger/faster on the scooter?)

9/10 for sure.

1. I wouldn't call it one of the best, but it was definitely really good. Of course, I have yet to see an episode I didn't like, lol.
2. I LOVE how they addressed Scootaloo's disability and her insecurities with it in this episode. It's something they've needed to do for a while now.

5. I didn't even think about how the mockery of the bullies simple brains worked. That's actually a good point.

6. The routine itself? Are you talking about the CMCs flag routine? If so, then I agree it was cool.

7. I wasn't a fan of RD's lack of professionalism running joke until it payed off at the end with Ms. Harshwhinny lacking professionalism, lol
8. I have been awaiting a CMC fall out, but it wasn't done right. It needed to have more focus. There should be an entire episode dedicated to the CMC falling out. The issue in this episode was resolved WAY too quickly and it felt both rushed and forced on us.
9. Rainbow's intervention, again, was WAY too rushed. It did make sense to do it, but it just felt too forced.

10. The hth between RD and Scoots was ok, but wasn't really a big emotional moment for me. And I'm HUGELY emotional, so that's saying something.

11. Scoots' scooter montages are always badass.

But everypony has their own opinions, so don't take anything away from this besides me just sharing mine. It was still a really good episode and definitely deserves our praise. I just personally felt that it could've been done better.

She was a lone wolf and was reluctant to ask for help because of bad past experiences. It's completely understandable. In the end though, she did see the value in sometimes needing assistance. I REALLY hope she returns in the future.

This...was...AWESOME! I seriously LOVED this episode from start to finish. The concept was fantastic and it was perfectly executed. It was great to see Rainbow Dash go complete fangirl and how it affected how she "helped". So far this season rivals season 2! The first four episodes were THAT amazing! Hell, I'm a guy and I'M going fangirl right now!

Just saw it this morning. Great episode. Not fantastic like the season opener, but great none-the-less. It continued the storyline introduced in the opener with the lockbox and Twilight trying to learn more about it, but it also had a unique story with the castle. Then each of the groups being there for their own reasons and going through their own hijinx was great. It was definitely a great episode.

no its not that ive been sick the past few days

It's alright man. 

It's been more than a day, lol. JK, take as much time as needed. I know my order was large, lol.

The season opener was amazing. From Discord's return to the story in general. Plus the fact that it looks like we're FINALLY going to get a season where a major plotline is shown at the beginning and continues throughout the season!

I like the ideas of your ocs, but tbh, they're very dark. I mean, murderous creatures and ponies. No offense at all man, as they are great creative ideas, but they wouldn't fit into my story at all. Maaebjan would be the most possible, but he'd have to be toned down for the story so that like instead of murdering, he's just overly violent or something. 

Lyrical songs will take a lot longer dude. I'm booked right now, but I'll get to yours eventually.  

Well you can do an instrumental version first to get the tune down if you want, and then add in lyrics later when you're better able to. It'll be for my upcoming FiM-fiction called My Little Pony: The Dark Stars. I've just begun planning the story though, so there's no huge rush or anything. 

I'm a brony musician who loves to compose and arrange remixes. Many people who make OCs want to get the best out of them, and one of the ways is theme songs. Hello everypony, and welcome to the official thread for my upcoming MLP fan fiction, My Little Pony: The Dark Stars. MLP:TDS will be a one shot fan fiction centering around a time long after FiM. However, to begin this story, I need some help from all of you, most specifically with characters. The following is all the information I have for the story so far, as well as a Character form. Use said form to submit your own OCs for use.

My Little Pony: The Dark Stars will NOT be written in typical chapter style. The FiM-fiction will be written in episodic style instead, with each "episode" being like a chapter in it's own right. Each one will have a different focus, and the entire story, or season, will have the main focus of the story listed below. This is something I have not previously done for a story, so it will be a fun ride.

Starrirder is a young Pegasus pony living in Ponyville. She's just entered the real world and is trying to make a life for herself while working at the Ponyville Cafe as a waitress. One day, the famous Canterlot stage-play celebrity Sevulva Star visits Ponyville to perform his newest play when the skies are suddenly enveloped by black stars that shine bright in the day, and cover the regular stars during nighttime. Starrider must now join forces with five other ponies and search for the long lost Elements of Harmony, as well as the Princesses who disappeared along with them.

Characters

Starrider Storm - An orphaned pony living in Ponyville. After moving out of her older sister's house, she's begun to live life on her own. Brash and wild, she dreams of one day flying to the stars. She is competitive but very kindly, and loves jokes. Her cutie mark is a star, representing her love for the sky and stars.



Agelian Wingblade - A pony living outside of the Everfree Forest. Agelian is headstrong and compulsive, often acting on a whim. He will fight for what he believes in, even if it means hurting others. Very competitive, he loves to race other pegasus ponies and will usually show off. His cutie mark is a racing flag, representing his quick nature and love for races.



Grace Storm - Starrider's older sister and only living relative. Grace was an apprentice of the late Rarity, and now runs the former Mane 6 members dress shop, the Carousel Boutique. She is kind and helpful, always catering to others and doing things around town. She is very protective of her younger sister. Her cutie mark is a sowing needle, representing her love of dress making.



Briance Seichter - Starrider's best friend since childhood, Briance is an Earth pony with a passion for adventures. She will often leave Ponyville, travelling the land and exploring whatever she can. She has seen a lot of Equestria, despite her young age. She is rambunctious and fun-loving, wild and carefree. However, she will help out with anything whenever she is asked. Her cutie mark is a hook-ended rope, displaying her love of adventure.



Chupa Cabra - A young Earth pony who lives next door to Starrider with her family. Chupa is a shy and quiet pony with rattling nerves. She tends to keep to herself, but if given the chance, prefers the company of plant life. Starrider is one of the few ponies she feels truly comfortable about, and will often follow her around in hopes of being useful. Her cutie mark is a leaf, symbolizing her fragile nature and love of plants.



Chamomile Cabra - Chupa's mother and owner of Ponyville's tea shop. She is outgoing and loud, contrasting her daughters shyness. Loving attention, Chamomile will often go out of the way to talk to people and make friends. She is helpful as well, and always takes care of anything that is asked of her. Her cutie mark is that of a teapot, symbolizing her love for making and serving tea.



Devlin Speedster - Ponyville's own working-class hero, Devlin is a unicorn pony who refuses to utilize magic in everyday tasks. Hard working and strong, he is often seen fixing buildings or pulling large carts of goods for others. He sometimes takes tasks harder than he can handle because he wishes to prove himself and be able to do more for others. He is a closet admirer of the famous Applejack, wishing to have the honest, hard-working nature she did. His cutie mark is a checkered flag pattern, representing his will to push himself harder and always come out on top.



Terra Lionmane - A strong and valiant knight in Princess Aura's royal guard. He values honor and duty above all else, and has tenacity that other ponies would be jealous of. He always acts like a valiant "knight in shining armor" for his friends and family. He is punctual and values his friendships. His cutie mark is a ruby heart locked inside of a star, representing his fiery heart and passion. (created by nioniosbbbb)




Sevulva Star - A famous Canterlot stage actor known for his dramatic plays. He is snobby and arrogant, often putting himself before others. He treats his personal assistant horribly, live a slave even, and is more than willing to put others out to further his own ambitions. His cutie mark is the masks of drama and comedy, representing his talent for acting.

Princess Aura - The Princess watching over Equestria and most specifically Canterlot. Since the disappearance of Princesses Celestia and Luna years and years ago, Princess Aura's family has been in charge of the kingdom. With Aura taking the throne, Equestria is at an unsettling peace. Her cutie mark is a shining star, representing hope and a bright future.

Fluttershy - The last living member of the Mane 6, she currently lives in her cottage, caring for animals in her old age. She is kindly and gentle. Her cutie mark is butterflies, representing her love for animals as well as her gentle nature.

Princess Celestia - One of the deity-like leaders of Equestria. She went missing ages ago, along with her younger sister Luna, leaving Equestria in the hooves of Princess Twilight and Princess Cadence. Her cutie mark is the sun, representing how she rules over the day and raises the sun after night ends.

Princess Luna - One of the deity-like leaders of Equestria. She went missing ages ago, along with her elder sister Celestia, leaving Equestria in the hooves of Princess Twilight and Princess Cadence. Her cutie mark is a crescent moon, representing how she rules over the night and raises the moon at the end of daytime.

Pound & Pumpkin Cake - The owners of Sugarcube Corner, Pound is the son of former owners Mr. & Mrs. Cake, and Pumpkin is his twin sister. Pound's cutie mark is a cake pan, representing his love for baking. Pumpkin's is a pumpkin, representing her love for farming and raising the ingredients used in Sugarcube Corner's foods.

Applebloom - The owner of Sweet Apple Acres, she works alongside her family to farm apples for Ponyville. Her cutie mark is an apple being cut by a saw, representing her love of working hard for the acres and apples in general.

Sweetie Belle - An employee of the Carousal Boutique, she works under Grace Storm as the chief gem gatherer and salespony. She is in charge of finding and collecting gems for Grace, as well as running the counter. She dreams of one day being a world famous singer. Her cutie mark is a musical note, representing her passion for singing.

Scootaloo - The leader of the Wonderbolts, she is the apprentice and friend of former leader Rainbow Dash. She is wild and crazy, but has a good heart and loves to work with others. She is a strong flyer, despite her early-life troubles. Her cutie mark is a speeding wheel, representing her outstanding speed and flying skills.

Babs Seed - A worker at Sweet Apple Acres, having moved from Manehattan following Applejack's death to help Applebloom take over. She is a strong worker and loves to do whatever she can to help. Her cutie mark is an apple seed, representing her love for apples and working hard.

Maaebjan - A violent and childish unicorn. He has vicious tendencies and believes that his victims enjoy being hurt and teased. He enjoys being hurt as well as hurting others. He prefers to scream when speaking to incite fear in his victims. His cutie mark is a purple cloud, representing a unique magic ability he has to create portals.

I didn't see my pony in any of the branches on the site. Is it just yet to be updated?

I know what lore is. I played Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas, ect.

 

But you don't have to follow the history of Equestria. You can make up your own in an alternate dimension. A lot of writers do that. But if you want to follow the history of the show, I will gladly fill you in.

I play Oblivion and Skyrim too (can't get Morrowind to work on my computer for some reason). I'd rather keep the fan fic in compliance with the official lore of the mlp universe. It's how I tend to write. Any and all help is appreciated. And once again, since you found me a map of Equestria, you are allowed two mane characters and if you want, you can be my adviser. Just message me your two mane characters information and if you want to be an adviser. As for any other lore help, post that here.

As for lore, you know how there was the Hearths Warming Eve episode where they showed the history of Equestria in a play? Lore is basically history. I need to know the history of the MLP universe and all.

Hello. If anyone is willing and able, I would like to request a couple of pictures made for my OC Starrider. I used a Ponymaker on DeviantArt to make the basic look for her, but would like a more professionally done look if at all possible. Here's what I got already with the biography.

What I am looking for is the following...

1. Pose Pictures - I need a couple of pictures made/drawn for Starrider showing her in different poses and situations. They don't have to be obscenely detailed or anything.

2. Avatar - I need a professionally done avatar featuring Starrider. Maybe have a border around it with the name Starrider in the bottom left corner.

3. Signature Banner - I need a banner for my signature and allow complete creative freedom on the design of it. I just ask that you check out the bio and make it so that it works for the character.

4. Fan Fiction Cover Art - The last thing I need is cover art for my upcoming MLP fan fiction. I need it to feature Starrider in an awesome pose/situation. I want my tagname on the bottom (GeekBAH) and the title at the top. The title for the fan fiction will be "My Little Pony: Dark Star".

For anyone who helps with any/all of these, I will let you create a character for the fan fiction. Keep in mind I will need plenty of background ponies as well as the mane heroes and mane villains.
