This thread has become very contentious, so I am going to close it. I remind all members that posts that comment only on another member are automatically off-topic, at least in Show Discussion and similar sub-forums.

Duh, you people forgot that pigs actually have some nifty function in the farmstead. They eat almost everything that they can chew, and their dung makes a good fertilizer. AJ can simply feed them rotten apples and in the other end, she will get some free fertilizer for the apple trees
She can also use them to make somepony disappears, though. Them pigs can even eat humans.
Well, in Sisterhooves Social, Applejack clearly states that the rotten apples that she and Apple Bloom have to pick up for their chores are fed to the pigs, so this is even given support from the canon. Good job!

This is just a theory...
I was thinking that it could be a possibility that in Season 4. Twilight wakes up and it happens to be all just one big dream she had. This could be a way for the show to revert Twilight back to a unicorn (if that is what they want to do anyway).
Thoughts?
Since this thread provides a theory for Twilight becoming an alicorn being revealed to be a temporary event, I have merged it with the Permanent / Temporary thread. Unfortunately, this has also meant that I had to remove your poll.
I believe she's in a coma. Megan McCarthy said that the premier of season 4 will continue where we left off at season 3. At the last part of the premier, Twilight's gonna wake up WITHOUT wings and she's in Ponyville hospital. The doctors are going to say that the cutie mark spell knocked her out, and she's been in a coma for a couple of months.
That's just my personal thought.
Thanks and bro hoof /)

On how to be a Princess, and thus having these Two Episodes on Twilight being afraid that she will mess things up and asking Cadence Luna Celestia and Blueblood For advices on royal duties?
I have merged your thread with the Season 4 Predictions thread, since it matches here better than under the Alicorn Twilight section.

Back before Princess Twilicorn was officially confirmed, Tara Strong and Meghan McCarthy were constantly denying that it will happen, despite a lot of people generating rumors that they were lying.
I just hope they're simply trolling with us again, like they did when they denied that Twilicorn is not going to happen. Eventually, the writers are going to cave-in to our desire to see Twilight as a unicorn and an equal to her friends, rather than some overpowered Mary Sue who no longer needs her friends. And when that happens, they'll have the S4 premiere return Twilight into a unicorn by the end. The reason they aren't confirming or denying this is simply to avoid spoilers, and because of the Non-Disclosure Agreement.
I mean, they lied to us about Princess Twilicorn not happening just to avoid spoilers, so surely they're lying to us about a permanent Princess Twilicorn again. Right?
Since this thread appears to deal with the issue of the permanence or not of Twilight Sparkle's new position as alicorn princess, I have merged it with the appropriate thread.

Anyone here feel that MLP and the brony fandom is beginning to grow stagnant? I think it's just me, but ponies just haven't been as appealing anymore, especially after the most recent episode. Anyone else here feel this way?

First of all, I would like to say that I have gained a good deal of respect for you and your ability to reason after reading your post. However, I disagree with it on several points. Bear with me, this is a long post. I also was a bit lazy and didn't multiquote, but instead just responded to your post as a whole.
Let’s look at where we are in agreement. I also think the “next level” of her studies does not refer to Twilight becoming an alicorn. After it happened, Celestia implied that Twilight's studies as her student were concluded. So those hints of mine you quoted are more like continuity nods than foreshadowing. They help to form a theme in Season 3 that was quite absent from the earlier seasons. The true foreshadowing there was the appearance of Starswirl’s journal at the end of TCEII, which reappears in the last episode. But more on that later.
My point about the Saddle Arabia delegation was indeed that it was preparing Twilight for being a princess, not necessarily for being an alicorn. I was not confused, I was simply focusing on the princess rather than the alicorn part. However, I could and should have been a bit clearer on what I mean, so touché. Although it’s still possible to make the case that you can’t have one without the other. All princesses so far shown have been alicorns. One could even include Queen Chrysalis on the list, assuming one is willing to classify her as an alicorn (or even a pony for that matter). No counter examples to be had.
Now for the disagreements. One, related to above: yes, Celestia did take a hand in things like “The Best Young Fliers Competition”. She even came to see the “Running of the Leaves”. But in none of those other cases were important guests from other countries present, as they were in Magic Duel.
Two, foreshadowing does not need to be overt. In fact, foreshadowing that is too overt is a sign of bad writing. To be fair, so is foreshadowing that is too subtle. But I would rather err on the side of subtle, personally. Related to this, good foreshadowing should be most apparent in hindsight, not in foresight.
So let’s start at the end, with Magical Mystery Cure. In this episode, Twilight gets Starswirl’s journal from Celestia. As mentioned, this is a link to TCEII, when the same book is shown. It is also a link to those first two hints I mentioned, since one relates to difficult spells (a spell Starswirl couldn’t complete would count as difficult) and it’s in a book, another “homework assignment” from the Princess, just like her “homework assignment” of reading twelve books in one weekend. So, actually, I was too hasty to concede the point above. It could be said that those hints have a dual-purpose (continuity and foreshadowing) and as such should be considered good writing.
Next, the spell wouldn’t have led to Twilight becoming an alicorn if it wasn’t for the fact that she had the Elements of Harmony with her at the time. She had the Elements because of the events of Keep Calm and Flutter On. I could make the case that that episode exists purely to ensure that the Elements are in Ponyville in time for the events of the final episode. I would also call this foreshadowing, something apparent in hindsight. Personally, I would call it bad writing on one account: arguably ruining Discord to ensure that a prop is correctly positioned for a later episode. But that’s a different discussion altogether.
Now here’s the kicker. Twilight becomes an alicorn after helping her friends restore their cutey marks. So her friendships are pivotal to her upgrade. Was this foreshadowed? Yes, in Magic Duel again. Trixie arrives with the Alicorn Amulet. The reference to alicorns is something that is unique to Season 3, like the next level of Twilight’s studies. Alicorns were never referenced in Season 1 or 2. So we have another theme: alicorns. Next Twilight says that the amulet lets Trixie cast spells that only “high-level unicorns” can cast. So the Alicorn Amulet did not make Trixie an alicorn-level talent (such as control over the sun or moon), it made her a high-level-unicorn talent. Finally, at the end of the episode, Twilight “casts spells” that seem to be beyond anything Trixie is capable of even with the Alicorn Amulet. For the purpose of foreshadowing, it doesn’t really matter that she wasn’t actually casting those spells. My point is that she appeared to exceed even the power of the highest level unicorns, using the help of her friends. This is mirrored perfectly when her connections with her friends and her understanding of friendship result in her becoming an alicorn in Magical Mystery Cure. Even more so when you consider that she didn't cast a single spell when she was restoring their cutey marks; she only used telekinesis. She didn't cast spells when dueling Trixie either, which is another parallel. The episode is rife with foreshadowing.
I return to my previous point: To say there were no hints is quite untrue. Hints were dropped in The Crystal Empire, Magic Duel, Wonderbolt Academy, and Spike at your Service. It just takes a bit of thought in hindsight to uncover them. In fact, this might qualify the entire third season for Fridge Brilliance.
I’m curious to know, though, exactly what hints you would have liked to see in Season 3 to foreshadow Twilight’s alicorn transformation without being too obvious about it.
PS - I thought of one more piece of foreshadowing. Granted, it happened in The Crystal Empire, Part I. Remember the scene with Luna and Celestia wishing Twilight good luck? First they show the Princesses with their cutey marks in the background, then they show Twilight in the exact same way. That really was obvious symbolism, and a clear hint to what was to come. I seem to recall quite a few people commenting on it at the time.

I really need honest opinions about this..
Because I have alot of Mixed Feelings about her turning into an alicorn. ._.
They should of saved it for season 4

Okay then why did you say only females can be alicorns when the changelings that you just said are all alicorns seem masculine-ish?
Also Even if he is the king he wasnt born royalty, he enslaved the kingdom to become one.
The changelings seem very much like insects, social insects, at that. Many species of social insects have a Queen (female) and workers who are also female. In such species, males are called drones, and exist for the sole purpose of breeding. I'd say changelings tick most of those boxes, which would make them more likely to be female than male. So the "only females can be alicorns", which I admitted is not proven but does seem to be the case, would still not be disproven by the existence of the changelings.
-
Chrysalis isnt an alicorn otherwise all the changelings would be one. also Sombra was never a king, he enslaved the crystal poniesmaking him their owner but not their king. and while Faust said BB was suppost to be a prince, and Cadence was suppost to be a Unicorn.
The changelings all are alicorns, having both wings and horns. And Sombra was called a King by the crystal ponies and by Celestia herself, and lived in a palace, so yes, he was a King. Finally, regardless of what Lauren Faust intended, Cadance is an alicorn too.

I guess alicorns are royalty, but royalty doesn't have to be an alicorn. Just like rectangles and squares. A square is automatically a rectangle, but a rectangle may not necessarily be a square. It might even be the case that only females ponies can become alicorns at all, judging by the evidence we have. (Firebolt, you ninja!
) As far as I understand, Twilight became an alicorn because she fulfilled her destiny as Element of Magic by creating new magic, and then was raised to royalty because of her new alicorn status.
Also why isnt Blueblood an Alicorn. why not Blueblood? He is badass, he is sexy, He is manly. he would make a better leader than Twilight or SA.
Twilight became a royalty by becoming an Alicorn, so why isnt BB an alicorn?
I wouldn't say he'd make a good leader, because leaders shouldn't hide behind their loyal subjects when they see a cake flying towards them. Even if they have just been groomed!

It seems to me that you didn't watch those episodes with enough care. Both the red dragon from "Dragonshy" and the green dragon from "Owl's Well that Ends Well" were sentient and could speak perfectly well, even if they only had a line each ("That Rainbow one kicked me..." and "What are you doing in my cave, and why are you eating my gems?" respectively, which shows they can identify both themselves and others). The adult dragons in "Dragon Quest" were never given the opportunity to speak, which is a very different thing from being given scenes in which to speak and not doing so.
As for Big!Spike, his situation in and of itself is exceptional, being a dragon raised by (shown to be clueless w.r.t. anything to do about dragons) ponies. His being unable to speak and acting animalistic as an adult are unique to him, and extrapolating from him to other dragons is a logical non-starter.
So your two fundamental assumptions ("adult dragons are not sapient" and "Spike is a typical dragon") are both irrevocably flawed.

No, but she was banished to the moon the first time they were used. If the Elements of Harmony always did the same thing when they were used, then they would have simply removed that evil influence from her the first time they were used. Therefore, that must mean, that the Elements of Harmony can have effects other than turning Twilight into an Alicorn. My guess is that it's somehow determined by the willpower of the ones that use them.
Well, I understand what you mean now. But wouldn't Discord be a better example of this concept than Nightmare Moon? The Elements turned him to stone twice, and were also used to return him to flesh. Different users, same effect.
The fact that they worked differently on Nightmare Moon is probably due to the fact that they were being used by Celestia alone, where before both the Princesses were connected to them, and even more so, that the target was one of the aforementioned Princesses themselves. These two factors are sufficient to explain why the Elements did not work for Celestia the same way as they did for the Mane 6 when used on Nightmare Moon.
-
Here's something to blow your minds. Look at the name. Sunset Shimmer. Sunset = Twilight, Shimmer = Sparkle. I'm not so sure that it's too far out of the realm of possibility that this pony might appear in Season 4.

Bear in mind that she was changed by the MacGuffins of Harmony, and it was established in the second episode that they work both ways. They can also change a pony back to a previous form (hence why Nightmare Moon was changed back to Luna).
The problem with the logic here is that Luna wasn't turned into Nightmare Moon by the Elements in the first place. It was an entirely different influence that did that.

Hey, does anyone here have any suggestions on how to cope with Princess Twilicorn?
For me, the best I could think of is wait until the S4 premiere to see how they'll handle her. But then again, I would only hope that in the two-part premiere that they set-up a situation that has Twilight decide between either her friends or royalty, and she picks the former, which wouldn't be a good or healthy coping mechanism.
Any other ways to cope with the change with Twilight Sparkle?
This would appear to fit in with the general discussion of whether "Twilight as an alicorn" is a good or a bad thing for the show and for its fandom.
-
Since everyone is fighting over Twilight being an Alicorn and spamming the heck out of the
forums with this type of topic. I'm going to do it too. *squee*
I usually don't care for these types of things, but since i cant find a good post whether people
want her to stay an Alicorn or not, this will be the one to answer my month old question!
I'm starting a poll. If you would like to, please vote your opinion.
