  1. She doesn't control the Stare. She doesnt have any idea when it'll happen. She can control how assertive she is though.
  2. I'm in Japan, Zekira, so I'll play you...
  3. I am so buying downloading this when it comes out. Edit: Wow! For free? We must thank them for their generosity.
  4. Can I say that is utterly wrong? She only said she used a memory spell, that doesn't mean it was her memory she was using. She was just unlocking their own memories of their friendships. No mind rape occured. And Discord's face has only one emotion - utter terror at being sealed again. I rest my case.
  5. Hmm... Rarity is my favorite pony... my top two songs are "Becoming Popular" and "Art of the Dress". I really must ask myself, am I justified in joining this thread, and I must also answer myself... "BUCK YEAH!" Simply fabulous, dahling.
  6. I guess I can say I'm in the TS fan club... not far in as some members, perhaps. As for the speculation about familiars and all that, it's a good read, but has too much speculation and not enough hard canon evidence for my liking. Also, Celestia can teleport - she does it on-screen at the end of Lesson Zero. Secondly, she is a physical goddess - she doesn't need counterspells. As soon as I learn how to upload pics of Twilight, I'll do so.
  7. "Art of the Dress" is based in part on a Barbara Streisand song "Putting it together" "Party of One" has a heap of rocks named Rocky who speaks with a Brooklyn accent and calls Rainbow Dash a "chump", for a Rocky reference. There is also "Sir Lints-alot" referencing Lancelot from the Arthurian legends. "Madam Le Flour" instead of "Le Fleur".
  8. Do you know the follow on to this? The Zen Master pays for his hotdog, and waits for his change. The hotdog vendor doesn't give it to him. The Zen Master says, "What about my change?" The vendor replies, "Change comes from within." Courtesy of the Impossible Quiz: Q. Can a match box? A. No, but a tin can! This one actually is an original, happened in a chat room once: Some guy: Damn, I just dropped yogurt on my keyboard. Me: Oh, dairy, dairy me. Also, this: Q. Why are there no aspirins in the jungle? A. Because the paracetamol.
  9. Sweetie Belle gets my vote for second cutest pony on the show. Number one spot goes to Luna. I mean, who can top "Haha! The fun has been doubled!" or "Huzzah! How many points do I receive?" Cuter than Sweetie Belle and more moe than Fluttershy.
  10. I never hated it, because I used to love Powerpuff Girls. I was always amused by such sweet and girly characters beating the blood, teeth and snot out of the baddies. I like cartoons in general, so when one of this calibre came up, I dove in hoof-first. Never looked back.
  11. Whatever blows your mane back, I guess. Not a problem for me, but not an interest either.
  12. Pinkie is Rule Of Funny personified. That is all.
  13. I think I'll put down Mare Do Well as well. I don't like the "superhero plot line" in general, unless of course, the whole show is a superhero show. Rainbow was painful, the way the Mane 6 responded was rather out of character (when have they ever taken action without at least trying to talk to the person with the problem before?) and the story relied on a number of cliches. Though frankly, I loved Hearth's Warming Eve - it provided a lot of background for the world of equestria, the Windigo's added a real sense of mystery and danger, and the character interactions were brilliant. Plus tons of continuity nods.
  14. I voted for "Becoming Popular". Definitely the best song for me... it's just so utterly Rarity. Next in order of how much I like is "Art of the Dress", "At the Gala", "May the Best Pet Win" and then "Smile, Smile, Smile".
  15. 1. Rarity - does this really need an explanation? Watch the show! Oh, and the lovely singing voice helps. 2. Applejack - A downhome farm girl - Let's hope she gets more focus - She was my favorite for a long time, until Rarity knocked her from top spot. 3. Luna - BEHOLD THE REAL PRINCESS OF THE NIGHT!!! But she just wants love. 4. Cheerilee - we teachers gotta stick together right? She can be my very special somepony any time. 5. Candy Mane! Short manes are in this year.
  16. I'll start by saying that most of Pinkie's songs rank bottom of the pile for me. I tend to dislike them. "The Smile Song" is most definitely an exception to disprove the rule. The visual part was engaging, and seemed to me to be Pinkie turned up to 11 (pun intended). The fact that Big Macintosh was just waiting there with a cart for her and the fillies to jump into, the skipping rope moving without anyone holding it, Pinkie sharing the screen with Pinkie (get down with your sad self, Pinkie!) and the gigantic ticker tape parade that somehow vanishes at the end. Then the words to the song... catchy, but with a simple and straightforward message that is a valuable one for anybody to hear. But really, the best part for me was the way everyone ended up singing along, with Pinkie singing her own words to the accompaniment of the ponies repeating her refrain. It actually makes me tear up a little, something that good music manages to do to me sometimes. If there is one thing that is perhaps a negative is that the interjections like "hello", "how you doin'?", and "howdy", didn't sound quite right. They were probably recorded separately, so it was a bit of dissonance. (I see that Bleyd noticed it too) The "yes, I do" parts didn't give me the same impression. Apart from that minor complaint, though, it was a perfect song, well up there with Kasumi Evan's (Rarity's) 2 songs, "At the Gala" and "May the Best Pet Win". I give it fifth place, which is highly unusual for a Pinkie song in my personal ranking chart. So what are you waiting for? C'mon and smile!
  17. Thanks for all the warm welcomes. It is a great pleasure to meet you.
  18. I'm going to go with Pegasus here. Just think of it: flying around, walking on clouds, spinning round and having kicks. Plus you are helping everyone by making the weather, watering the crops, brightening up everyone's day with rainbows... Oddly enough, I prefer the characters of the other types more. Not that I don't like Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy, I just like the others better. For those who say that Unicorns can use magic to fly need to remember that even Twilight Sparkle really struggled to cast that spell (which pretty much puts it out of reach of any other unicorn), that she cast it on someone else (it's possible that it's a type of spell one can't use on oneself) and that the wings were fragile enough to burn up from flying too high. Rather save yourself all that bother and just be born with wings, I say.
  19. Hi, everyone. I'm a new member of the herd, SolarPony! I hope I can help make this forum a bit brighter in some small way. It's a pleasure to meet you all! I've been a fan of MLP FiM for a few months now. I liked cartoons of many different kinds way before that. I appreciate the creativity that goes into them, and I have never agreed that they are "only for kids" or that a grown man or woman can't enjoy them as much as any other form of entertainment. I'm sure many of you will agree with me on that. My favorite ponies are Rarity, Luna, Applejack and Cheerilee I'm looking forward to making some good friends and having some good discussions!
