It hasn't been a good couple of days. 2006 MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden was in a bicycle accident where he suffered severe trauma and brain damage, he still remains in critical damage, and the prognosis is unknown. And now, I've learned that Sebastian Bourdais has been in a huge crash at Indy in qualifying. The car came unstuck coming out of turn 2, and he hit the wall at a confirmed 230 MPH. He broke both femurs, and it's possible his pelvis is also broken.
I really hope both can recover from these injuries, or at least be able to live a mostly normal life.
I've never sat in a race car in my life, but hearing about a driver/rider being injured, or worse, hurts. I was even hurt when I heard what happened to Billy Monger last month.
