Okay, so I'm not going to be able to get on at all today. I mysteriously acquired tickets to this football game, and now it seems like I'm going. I probably won't be back until late tonight/early tomorrow morning either.

I don't need a silly little picture/string of symbols to relate my current mood. 99% of the time you can tell someone's disposition from context, and the actual content of the message. And if you can't tell? Don't assume either way, orient your response to a more neutral stance, and gather more clues from there. It's really not that hard, to be completely honest. No one seems to understand this, though...
