Today I attended the commencement ceremony that declared me an official graduate from my university, and given that this is kind of a big deal, I thought it might be a good time to share some thoughts on the last four years of my life.

There are a few things that have stayed the same. I'm still with my partner, the animal kingdom still ranks high on my list of interests, and I still like watching My Little Pony and other cute and nerdy series. For each thing that stays the same though, something else seems to have changed. In the time that I've been in college I've moved away from home, begun to work through my Anxiety and build my self esteem, and even changed my name (though not legally... yet). I've become a kinder, braver, stronger person, who's learned more about the world than she ever thought she would know, and who's done things that she had always believed she would be too afraid to do.

I also joined a forum for fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I became an avid RolePlayer, wrote stories for contests, and rose up the staff ranks all the way to Team Leader of my favorite section. I've talked to so many different people, and I've made so many wonderful friends. As simple and trivial as such an act may be, I can honestly say that I would not be the same person I am today, had I not chosen to create an account on this forum.

So I want to thank you, all of you, for everything that you've done for me. Through this place you have taught me to be more honest, kind, generous, joyous, and loyal, and you have shown me the magic of friendship in a way that I had never seen it before. I know that I will continue to change and grow as I approach this new chapter in my life, and I will walk towards these changes unafraid, knowing that even as my life changes I will still have a community full of people who care about and support me to come home to.

    Truly, thank you...

I don't often make blog entries here, but given that this is on my mind I suppose I'll go ahead and share.

I imagine many of you have noticed today's holiday. Perhaps you've observed the holiday by calling your mother, or giving her a gift, or posting something about her on social media. For you all, I'm glad, and I hope you and your mothers are enjoying this day.

For me though, Mother's Day is not a nice, pleasant little holiday. The pressure to celebrate my mother, the sight of everyone discussing the importance of appreciating what she's done, is not an easy thing for me to face. For me, it is a sharp reminder of the pressure to love and respect someone who hurt me greatly, who abused me. I do not talk about this part of my life much outside of my closest relationships, but today, I think it's an important thing to share. I know I'm not the only one going through this, and I want others to know that they aren't alone as well. To those going through the same thing as me, I want to tell you that I'm here, that I understand, and that you don't have to feel guilty for not sending flowers or writing facebook posts. You do not owe her, and your feelings are valid <3

To those who do have positive, loving relationships with your mothers, I hope you do celebrate that. You are very lucky to have something so special as that, and you should cherish that every day.

That's all I really have for you all. Whatever you have, a loving mother, an abusive one, or no mother at all, I hope you all have a lovely day, even if the holiday is hard for you too. Stay strong my darlings <3

This first little piece is for Lightwing, who gave me the prompt of our OCs meeting up for a drink and chatting. Lightwing, all I can say is that you 1000% should have seen this coming.

If you like what you see here, you can request your own flash fiction in the comments here or on this blog post (which also explains the rules for requests)!

    -------------------------

“Would you stop giving me that look?” Cupid Strike asked, raising an eyebrow at the unicorn mare sitting across from him.

Eloquence giggled and took a sip from her cup of cold cider before responding. “What look?”

“You know what look! That little grin you get when you think I’m being silly.”

“To be fair, you are being silly.” Eloquence kept her grin firmly in place.

“All I said was that I think Daring Do and Rainbow Dash would make a good couple. What is it with you judging my ships?”

“I don’t judge all of your ships my dear, just the silly ones.”

Cupid Strike rolled his eyes. “Alright then, why is it silly?”

“Well, first of all, because Rainbow Dash is a real pony, and Daring Do is a fictional character.”

“Oh come on! You’re a writer, use your imagination!”

Eloquence attempted to look annoyed by that comment, but her amused smile betrayed her. “I tend not to use my imagination to pair fictional characters with real ponies, however, if I were to use my imagination and simply go off of what I read in Ring of Destiny I still wouldn’t say that they could work together. I think that Rainbow’s impulsive nature would get to be too much for Daring to deal with given that she’s much more calculating, not to mention that Rainbow would still need to move much further past her idolization of Daring.”

“But both of those issues were addressed in Ring of Destiny. Just from their one adventure Daring learned to be more trusting while Dash learned not to put Daring on a pedestal and to be more rational. They were able to learn so much from each other just in that one day, think about how much they could grow together as a couple!”

Eloquence tilted her head, contemplating. “I suppose you make a good point, but I still just don’t think that Dash’s idolization of Daring makes a good starting point for a relationship, even if she is moving past it.”

Cupid chuckled before finishing the rest of his cider. “That’s fair. Maybe they aren’t perfect, but there aren’t a lot of potential ships in the Daring Do series. Whether you like them or not they’re pretty much the series OTP by default.”

    “I wouldn’t say that…”

Cupid raised an eyebrow at that. “Oh really? Then who is?”

“I, I don’t know. I just, think there could be a better pairing. It’s not important though; I mean it wouldn’t even make sense. Forget I said anything.”

“Aww, come on! Tell meeee!” Cupid’s eyes widened, hoping to sway his unicorn friend.

Eloquence blushed. “No, really, it’s nothing…”

Cupid smirked. “Fine then. If you want we can switch to a different romantic topic. Maybe we should chat about your love life. You could tell me about that griffon I keep seeing you with, oh, or that accomplished gambler who asked you out during his interview with you!”

Eloquence huffed, hoping that the color in her face wasn’t starting to “match her mane” as her friends liked to say. “You’re going to keep doing this until I tell you aren’t you?”

“Yep!” Cupid gave Eloquence a wide, toothy smile, the picture of blatantly feigned innocence.

“Fine…” Eloquence sighed and paused to consider her next words. “Have you ever really thought about the relationship depicted between Ahuizotl and Dr. Caballeron?”

Cupid thought for a moment before a smile slowly spread across his face. “Go on…”

With the encouragement of some lovely forum friends (thank you Shadow, Lightwing, and Khajiit!) I've decided to try out this odd little idea I had for a blog.

The premise is simple: you leave a comment with a request and I in turn will write a flash fiction (ie. a very short story) based on it. I get to practice my creative writing in a way that will make me feel accountable and thus motivate me to not be so lazy, and you get a little story of whatever you want. It's a win-win.

Now, since I imagine you may have some questions, I'll do my best to preemptively answer a few of them

Would you write about my OC? What about a shipfic? - Yes to both! This should ideally be fun for both of us, so if you want a cutesy shippy story or something involving your ponysona (or both) I will do my best to deliver!

Does it have to be about ponies? - It does not! It can be based on other media or on no media at all. If you do want something based on a different show/movie/book/etc however, keep in mind that I won't write about something I'm not familiar enough with. You can request whatever you'd like, but keep in mind based on this that I might not be able to fill your request.

Will you fill every request? - I'll do my best to fill every request I can, but it'll depend on how many requests I end up getting and whether your request is feasible.

When will I see my story? - Right now I'm not going with any exact dates or times, but I have a lot of free time so it shouldn't take too long. After I do this for a little while I should be able to come up with a better estimate than that.

One More Note: Though it should go without saying, everything I post to this blog has to follow the forum community rules, therefore no NSFW or otherwise forum-inappropriate requests will be considered. I also reserve the right to deny any request, since this is my blog and I can ultimately do whatever I want with it.

Now that that's settled, give me things to write about!

Hello there people of the forums (or at least however many of you may be reading this)

Lately I've been finding myself with a lot of free time and a strong desire to work on my writing. However, I'm finding that I'm a bit on the rusty side, and thought that starting a blog might be a good way to "grease the wheels" and motivate me to practice more. The question remains though, what would I blog about? I have a lot of options to choose from, and could see myself enjoying any one of them. I figure that posing the question to you, my lovely readers, might help me make a decision, as encouragement from all of you would likely be what motivates me to actually update this blog on a regular basis, and the more people actually care about what I say here, the more motivation I'll have. So, without further ado, here are some options to choose from -

A "flash fiction" blog - You provide prompts, I turn them into very short stories. Make me practice my creative writing and in return read stuff about your OC/favorite ship/whatever you want me to write about Writer's Corner - I provide weekly writing tips, simple as that A "daily life" blog - A more simple thing where I just talk about the shenanigans I get up to, which would be easy to write because I get up to a lot of shenanigans A Review Blog - This one is extremely overdone, but I think there are ways in which I could still put my own spin on such a blog. Just don't expect me to do episode reviews of My Little Pony, unless I have something I really want to say I think there are enough of those already

Other ideas welcome, just tell me what you might actually care to read from time to time (if anyone actually reads this post in the first place...)

I don't make blog entries often, or at all really, but I wanted to share something that happened while I was at an anime convention last weekend.

I was walking through the mall attached to the convention center on my first day there, before I had even gotten my badge to get in yet, dressed in my Fluttershy cosplay. I walked past a mother and her two little children, and the little girl, likely no more than five, walked up to me and stared at me wide-eyed. Looking at her Mane six-print dress I could easily see why she was looking at me, so I bent down to say hi to her. As I bent down she pointed to a picture of Fluttershy on her dress and said "Fluttershy", indicating that she recognized me as a character she really liked. I did my best impression of her, which wasn't very good but seemed to work well enough anyways, and was met with continued staring from the shy little kid who'd decided that she had found a real-life Equestria Girl. Her mom asked for a picture and I posed with the little one, then she very genuinely thanked me, clearly very happy that her child was happy without a care in the world as to whether or not my being in such a costume was "weird".

People say a lot of nasty things about us as a fandom, and one of the favored remarks of those who don't approve of us is that we ruin something that was made for children, especially for little girls. This singular incident likely wouldn't sway anyone one way or another in that argument, but it tells me one thing loud and clear. If getting called a dumb gross pathetic brony means that I get to make a little kid's day, that I get to bring happiness to a family, then I'm ok with that. People can say what they want about me and what I do, they can hate me for liking a little kids show if they're so intent on it, but being an active part of this fandom means that I get to make people smile, and as long as that's true then I see no reason to ever leave.

This one's for Shadow Beam, who asked for a scene of the Royal Sisters in The Kettle (a tea shop run by two of my OCs). I'm not sure this entirely follows what you asked for in your prompt, but I hope you enjoy it anyway

If you like what you see here, you can request your own flash fiction in the comments here or on this blog post (which also explains the rules for requests)!

    -----------------------------

Chamomile and Ginseng bustled about their beloved tea shop, making sure that everything was in its place before turning the sign hanging in the window from “closed” to “open”. From there, the two positioned themselves behind the counter, where Ginseng anxiously awaited the first customer, feeling more than ready for the day ahead.

Once the first two customers opened the door however, Ginseng felt entirely caught off guard. There was no way she could have prepared herself for this.

Walking towards her were none other than the royal sisters themselves, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Neither of the twin shopkeepers could help but stare up at the regal pair, stunned by their presence. Princess Celestia seemed to notice this, as she let out a quiet giggle before speaking.

“Good morning my little ponies. My sister and I would like a pot of your dragonwell green tea, if you would be so kind as to brew it for us.”

Chamomile had the dragonwell tea canister off the shelf and was measuring out the amount of leaves she would need before the princess had even finished her sentence, leaving Ginseng to speak with the princess alone.

“Of, of course princess! That will be right out!” Ginseng replied a little louder than was necessary.

“Wonderful. Thank you so much.” Celestia levitated enough bits for the tea along with a very, very large tip onto the counter before her and her sister took their seats.

Ginseng turned to her sister and whispered. “Chami… I’m not dreaming am I?”

Chamomile didn’t feel the need to whisper, but she kept her voice down. “You are not, those two are really here, and in a few minutes you’ll be bringing them this pot of tea.”

Ginseng spent every second of those few minutes nearly bouncing in anticipation before the tea was ready, and then carried it over to the princesses with two cups.

“Enjoy your tea” was all she could manage to get out. Both of the princesses thanked her before she returned to the counter.

“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh,” she muttered to her sister.

“Yes, I know, I know.” Though Chamomile was much more composed, deep down she was every bit as excited.

Though they both tried not to be nosy, they couldn’t help but watch the two out of the corners of their eyes.

“What do you think they’re talking about?” Ginseng asked quietly.

“I couldn’t say, though they’re starting to look rather heated. It must be something important.”

“Like what? Do you think there’s trouble, like a potential war or a threat against Equestria?”

“Careful not to let your imagination run away with you Ginnie,” she chided with a small smile. “I would imagine it’s just politics, nothing to worry about.”

Ginseng nodded, and the two tried to get back to focusing on their work.

    -

“You can be so obstinate sometimes, sister. Why can you not just trust my judgment here?” Luna asked.

“I do trust you sister. It’s just that I’ve known Twilight since she was a filly, I know what she likes best.”

“Yet you still wish to give her the most obvious gift a pony could think of.”

Celestia frowned at this, her usual composure beginning to crack. “It may seem like an obvious choice, but that’s because it’s something she loves. Besides, she’ll want a practical gift, and nothing would be more practical than keeping her library up to date.”

“Birthday gifts are not supposed to be practical, they are supposed to be fun, and I don’t see how she’ll have any fun with a bunch of reference books.”

“The Encyclopedia Equestria can be very enjoyable for somepony as interested in learning as Twilight Sparkle. Besides,” she grinned mischievously. “If you really want to give her an exciting gift, then perhaps you should suggest something that will allow her to do more than look at the stars.”

Luna huffed. “I’ll have you know that astronomy and stargazing can be very exciting. One can hardly help being in awe of the stars, especially Twilight. She greatly enjoys taking her telescope out to look at the stars, and unlike your books, it provides an activity that she can do with her friends.”

“Yes, it is something she can do with her friends, with the perfectly suitable telescope she already has.”

“She also already has a copy of the Encyclopedia Equestria.”

    “It’s an old edition!”

    “So is the telescope!”

Both ponies paused, letting out a frustrated huff. They each poured tea into their mugs and levitated them, glaring at each other over the brim of the cup.
