  1. 1) Edna and Harvey (both games): The gameplay isn't anything special (point and click) and some would actually argue that it isn't a game at all, however the story more than makes up for its lack of gameplay. There have been few characters who I felt so attached to as to Edna. 2) Shadowrun returns (Deluxe): This game made me VERY interested in the shadowrun franchise. Everything is just right in this game! The gameplay is deep and highly tactical, while at the same time it is easy to understand. The classes are cool, and they even react to the environment in different ways. The characters are some of the most in depth characters I've seen, even the npc's, and the story (and especially the way it is implemented) is gorgious, especially in the second campaign. The only flaw I can find, really, is that it is rather short... HOWEVER! They make up for it by releasing new campaigns. I'm not entirely sure if they will add a second campaign, but I think they will do. 3) Dishonored: Awesome gameplay, great story and a beautifull environment. I love stealth =3 That's my top 3 atm. I could create a whole list, but I think this is enough for now xD
  2. That sounds like my kind of game... maybe I should look it up My friends and I make it a sport to try to manipulate each-other.
  3. That sounds cool. I will look it up some time It would be awesome if you could keep us up to date to how your experiences are with it
  4. I mainly have positive experiences with this community. At first I was kinda afraid to get onto a brony forum, because I know how crappy the internet community is on average. However, this forum gave me new hope. As a matter of fact, this is the first forum I actually stick to. Of course, the community isn't perfect, but that's mainly because I have issues with certain individual members who shall remain anonymous. I can't really say that I hate them, or even that I dislike them, but they sometimes rub me the wrong way... Then again, I think that feeling is mutual, because I'm someone who isn't afraid to post his true opinion. So overall, a bro-hoof to each and everyone of you, even to the people I like less. I hope this community will last. Not just for myself, not just for you guys, but for the internet as a whole!
  5. I chose kindness, because there wasn't an option for understanding and tolerance. I think that kindness resembles it closely. It is very important for me that I can say everything that's on my mind to my friends, without having to worry about judgement all that much.
  6. Okey everyone, I haven't found this one yet, so I think I will ask you guys. I bet there are some Warhammer 40K fans out there so my question for you is... what is your favourite faction and why? I have a huge hard-on for the Eldar. I haven't played the table-top game yet, but I like their lore and they are pretty cool in the video games. I always love mobile factions and classes that allow for a lot of tactical gameplay and the eldar fill that spot perfectly. They are also very mysterious and "Magic" heavy (As in, they use the warp quite well). Their vehicles also look neat, with all of their swift looking models. I guess that sums it up. I also have a special spot for the necrons, because they are bad-ass and a certain love for the orks... because they are funny with all of their gunz and red vehicles xD
  7. I can give you a few tips on how to start with Magic. First, you might want to try out one of the free Magic games on the computer. It will not be that satisfying, but you can't cheat on the computer, so it is pretty easy to learn that way. I have learned the rules through Etherlords (not free) which is a Magic the gathering clone. The rules are largely the same, though. You could also buy a starter pack. It contains 2 decks where the cards are put in a specific order, you get a manual with a step-by-step tutorial so you can learn the rules quite easily. Once you start to play, I recommend you look up a list of terms on your phone or tablet, so that you can look up the terms that aren't explained on the card itself (Stuff like death touch, trample and vigilant). Don't be afraid to cheat on accident. It can happen. Just be sure that both people adhere to the same rules. What I usually do when I doubt about a rule is that I choose the most positive thing. This also counts for my opponent, of course. Finally, as Stancet said, the best thing to do is to find a good teacher, but if you can't, the above tips should be enough to get you into it.
  8. Tough call... I wouldn't like to live in a post apocalyptic world, of course, but if I had to choose... Let's start with the ones I don't like AT ALL! Zombies - Why would you want to live in this? It's scary as hell. You have to be on your guard ALL THE FREAKING TIME! Also, they are gross. Finally, it would break my heart to recognise one of my loved ones as a zombie. That also includes putting a friend down if he/she gets infected. Pendamic - Hypochondriac here, so... NO! Natural disaster - It could be the most comfortable one... but I'm thinking huge blizzards everywhere! Stuff like that. No! Alien - Depends on the aliens... but seen the fact its post apocalyptic, I doubt I would like it. If I coul intergrate in their society, maybe. So I chose nuclear. Still not a vocation, but if I can live in a relatively safe area, yeah. My services might come in handy, because I have a general knowledge about science (I'm not a scientist, nor am I overly specialised, but chances are my knowledge would be usefull enough to get me into a decent village). I also kinda enjoy the idea that society has to be build up from scratch, so individual people in a community will ost likely have more to say when it comes to politics. Disease would still be a huge problem though, so that freaks me out, but at least I see some hope of survival in a world like that.
  9. Zelda was my main. I will give Rosalina a try in the new one, and she might replace Zelda, but... I'm not sure Zelda just felt right in my hands.
  10. I love the night as well. As a matter of fact, atm, I wake up around noon and I enjoy myself till somewhere around dinner time. Then, I will continue my work till it's about 2AM. The night is simply better in most cases, IMO. The main exception is when I have to travel alone at night... I hate that, but that has mainly to do with some very nasty experiences in my past, so yeah... can't blame the night for that. As long as I have multiple people with me I don't mind traveling at night.
  11. No one mentioned Magic the Gathering? I love that TGC. I usually just play it against a friend of mine, but I want more opponents. I use 2 different decks, One is a black and white vampire/human deck (I need to rebalance that one) and the other is a blue and red deck, mainly focussed on drawing lot's of cards and burning the enemies deck, with some decent creature support. I love how advanced that game has become (Can't wait till I get a bit more money so that I can buy more booster packs). Also, yesterday, I ordered a Star Realms deck. It is a new deck builder game that is easy to get into. The cool thing about deck builders is that you only need to buy one set and then you can play. There are no booster packs and everything (Even though some deck builders have expansions). Lastly, I have become quite interested in the Warhammer 40K table-top game. I won't play it (yet) because all of the pieces are simply WAY to expansive, but I've been a Warhammer 40K fan ever since the Dawn of War video games. If I get the oppertunity I will certainly start to collect the pieces, starting with my beloved Eldar. In the past I've played quite a bit of Yu-gi-oh!, but even since I started playing Magic... yeah, ironicly enough, Yu-gi-oh! doesn't have the magic xD If P&P counts as a board game, then I would really, really, REALLY love to play Shadowrun... I just lack the friends who are interested in it I only have a couple of friends who like D&D, which is fine, but I'm more of a cyberpunk fellow. I simply adore the Shadowrun lore and classes. If anyone can give me some advice about how to meet shadowrunners that live close-by, feel free to share it... not that it will be easy, because I live in the most "Red Neck" part of my country xD (No offence to any "Red Necks out there". I guess that's about it... I really love engaging board/table-top/P&P games, even though I haven't playd many. I'm curious to how this topic will develop.
  12. Uhm... OF COURSE WE DON'T? Yeah, I've never randomly licked a stranger... I'm normal! (Sneaks out of the room)
  13. To be honest, whenever I read a sad story I feel better... Sure, I will feel sad because of the sad things that happened, but it let's me forget all of the sad things that happen in real life. It also makes me content with what I have.
  14. All swords are light. That some swords are heavy is a myth created by movies and video games. They are heavier than a knife, of course, but they are pretty damn light. That also includes the greatsword.
  15. I love swords! Once I get a bit more money, I want to collect them. I must point out a little thing to the OP though... The list of swords is VERY small xD There are countless of different swords. Maybe you should rework the poll to be something like: "Asian swords, western swords, middle eastern swords, etc". It is still prett much inaccurate, but It give people some more choices. From the list I chose the greatsword, because I like two handed swords. I have a HEMA training long sword myself (Not a steel one, though) and it rocks! I really like indian swords... Can't forget the katana, of course, even though I think it is overrated and the fan-boys kinda ruin it for me. Still, I would really love to own a big katana.
  16. In general, I'm more of a sad ending part... especially when I don't see it coming. Happy endings are overrated, imo. Art is meant to touch you in ways that nothing else can, and in most cases a sad ending is best for that. It usually also makes you realize how attached you are with the characters, because of the sheer empathy you feel. There are exeptions, of course, but I can't think of any atm.
  17. You are right. It is quite easily seen in dogs, who tend to hump... pretty much anything. I bet everyone has had a dog trying to mount them one point in their life or another.
  18. That's actually something you can practice, as well. Try to meet new people more often and ask them for feedback. Don't take the critique personal, think about it and change things up a bit if you agree with them. It takes hard work and it isn't always fun, but that's how it's done.
  19. There are quite a lot of online courses you can take. You can take as long as you want with them, and it's very fun. Of course, they tend to use a simple problem, but it will teach you the basics. You can always expand from there. It is good to at the beginning, of course, so I would recommend something like that. I'm currently doing one, myself. (It's dutch, though, so I don't think it will help you that much).
  20. Yeah, that sounds like the perfect time period to go on vacation...
  21. Eeeh... I will use this topic as an excuse to bitch about the law a bit, if no one minds, seen the fact the title talks about breaking rules. In my opinion, the law is innately flawed. You can't really blame anyone for it (for the most part, that is), but that doesn't mean that it isn't helpfull. There are plenty of laws that hurt people. Some hurt people in ways that most people don't even know about. That said, I don't think that breaking the rules is always a bad thing. Some rules are simply plain stupid and breaking them is just... common sense. Sometimes breaking the rules can save people, like beating up a thug. I hate the mentality that most governments have that revolves around illegalizing things. Oh, this is causing trouble. Let's ban it. Strange, prisons are starting to fill up more rapidly. Increase the punishment! Illegalizing something is, in most cases, nothing more than pretending the problem doesn't exist. It only works, to some degree, for crimes like murder. A healthy person won't murder anyone anyway (without a VERY good reason, like self-defense) and we can't stop murderers from doing it, nor is murder something we can regulate. That makes it ban-worthy. So, my final conclussion after this rant: Yes, if the situation acts for it, it is damn fine to break the rules in order to do something good.
  22. I'm waiting for a house te become vacant so that I can live on my own and I'm waiting for my healthcare money thingy to be in order. Besides that, I'm waiting for my book to finish itself, but he's kinda lazy, so I have to do everything for him...
  23. I'm sure someone already explained this, but I will do it again, anyway. The ebola virus isn't a threat to us. Chances are small that it will actually reach the western civilizations, and even if it does, it can only be transmitted by blood (Or maybe some other bodily fluids, I don't know the details). Our countries are generally well vaccinated and that will also decreases the chances of infection.
