  1. I've been playing Super Smash Bros 4 (3DS) the whole day. I'm finally starting to remember how to play the game I also noticed that I really like Robin his/her playstyle, so I think I have also found my main. SSB for life!
  2. I'm also unemployed atm. I quit my school a few months ago, and I'm currently educating myself so that I can start my next education with the right amount of knowledge (I haven't had any math in a LOOOONG time, so I'm currently working on that :S). I'm casually looking for a temporary job, but tbh... I prefer to do teach myself those basic skills that I need. I will start with school in a little bit longer that half a year. In the meantime I AM going to do voluntary work. One of the things I'm really looking forward to is to educate people abou the whole "basic income" idea... That would also allow me to follow the education I actually WANT to do. Yet, I have to say that I'm enjoying my free time atm. I finally have the oppertunity to put some time into my hobbies, so I don't really feel all to bad. I also used this time to quit smoking, so I guess that is cool Anyway, quitting school was the best choice I've made in a long time, for a multitude of reasons.
  3. Yup, I have a high functioning form of autism. Known it since I was 11... I don't mind It brings it's own share of problems, but it also brings plenty of perks.
  4. I only read a bit on the first page, but why is everyone talking about mainstream music? Modern music =/= Mainstream... Mainstream is just what is popular right now (Due to marketing, mainly). There are LOADS of good modern bands and genres. For instance, I found a lot very good metalcore bands lately. Also, my favourite "band", even though they started in the late 90's, is still making many albums... and every time their new album is in a completely new (often modern) style. Plenty of good music in this era. You just need to go and look for it (most people won't and that makes me sad. If more people did, I'm certain that our current pop genre will decline heavily). This is just my input, though.
  5. Yes. Simply because a lot of people believe in god, doesn't mean it isn't believing in the supernatural In the end, God is everything from what we see in our daily lives, nor is it something that we can explain with our current knowledge of science. (Also, the holy trinity names "The holy ghost" so yeah)
  6. I don't really believe in the word "Paranormal". Paranormal means that it isn't natural, and thus that it doesn't exist. So even if ghosts are real, they will be "normal". Anyway, enough of me being a smart-ass (Sorry for that ) I don't really believe in the so called "Paranormal" but I'm also not denying it's possibility. However, I do believe that people should be aware that the truly awesome and big stuff will MOST CERTAINLY be different from what people think they are.
  7. Oeh, nice topic Well, the strangest dream I have ever had was also the most scary and fucked up dream I ever had. So, the dream was something that I think was called a "Wake Up" loop or something along those lines. The thing was... I was just dreaming, usually something pretty normal. Suddenly it turned into a nightmare, and I "woke up"... That is, I woke up in a dream. This happened over and over again, for I don't know how long. Now, besides the fact that all of the dreams I had in that time turned into nightmares, there is one thing that I will NEVER forget... Each time I woke up, there where a group of faceless mannequin like dolls lying on top of me :S That was SO FREAKING ISNANE! And yeah, the moment I woke up for real, it took me a while to actually believe that I woke up. Stuff like that is some pretty scary shit.
  8. I didn't choose any. Maybe I would get Twilight, but that's just to meet her xD But in all seriousness, it depend on the friend. I have 2 people I consider my bestest friends. The first one is a brony, just like me. I would just ask him what he wants me to do. The second one despises ponies (he isn't an anti-brony though), so I would most likely laugh my ass off xD
  9. And this is why I love nintendo. Great input you gave there. I also think that the whole "not safe for children thing" is a bit... Motherly xD Children aren't made out of glass and chances are they won't even notice the majority of the "darkness" the games bring.
  10. Great reply's y'all. The games are, indeed, still very kid friendly and far from Fallout 1 type of serious (to just name a game), but it is most certainly getting more and more deep. I must say that I never finished D/P and B/W and I never owned B2/W2. Still thinking of completing them, though, seen the fact I heard a lot of interesting stuff about B/W. Thanks for all the input, keep em coming
  11. Seen the fact I have just completed the Pokemon oras delta episode, I have to say Zinnia. She's crazy, funny and pretty deep as well. Yet, I'm not really into waifu's that much anymore, but I will list a couple that still seem to grab my interest from time to time. Pony related: Twilight and Fluttershy. I also love Etna from the Disgaea franchise I have a thing for Rosalina (Mario) And let's not forget Bridget from Guilty Gear (I don't give a damn that it's a trap!) And finally I must say that gotta love Edna from Edna & Harvey
  12. So, I have been away from the forums for a bit, because reasons aaaand I decided to come back, because I wanted to ask you guys this thing. As most of you will prabably be aware of, pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire have been out for some time now. I totally love the game... I'ts my favourite gen with all the advances and awesomeness that gen 6 brings to the table. Now, seen the fact I have played gen 6 and as I have completed ORAS today, there is a little something that I noticed... The story is getting darker and more serious, or at least that is how I experience it. Without spoiling anything for anyone I will leave the details out, but as it seems... both X and Y and the ORAS delta episode seemed to bring up a lot of pretty grim topics, mainly: Mass death, sacrifice and even a form of genocide (X&Y). The characters in the story also get more and more character development (even though it still isn't that much). So, are there more people who think this, or am I over analyzing the games? Anyway, I think it would make a good conversation topic.
  13. Yeah, both is a good answer as well. However, forcing people to choose is more fun, because it is more difficult (Both games are super awesome).
  14. It most certainly affects the viewer. Not just series and movies do that, though. The biggest "Changer of Minds" on TV is the news. No, I'm going to rant about how evil modern media is (It's a mixed bag, just like verything else) but it DOES affect the minds of people directly or indirectly. Cartoons, series and movies also affect the way people think. The thing is, it doesn't affect people the way some extremist anti-TV/Games/Wack-da-Mole people think. Series and stuff are forms of art (Either good or bad) and art is subject to free interpretation. What effect it has on a person differs from person to person, depending on the way that person thinks. If a story is fictional or not also differs how people interpret it. Some people will take TV more serious than other people, but it does influance the way you think in one way or another. Humans are a very reflective species afterall.
  15. Okey, so... These games. Lots of people love them, some people hate them (Because they didn't play them, lol). Anyhow, we all know that both games have huge fan bases. Both games also have comparable gameplay. So, the question is obvious. What side are you on and why? Personally I prefer Majora's Mask. I love the story and the dark setting. The transformation masks are also a great + imho (I can finally play as a zora!). The time travel mechanic is well implemented and this allows you to replay your favourite quests as you please (Or take on bosses with your new equipment). All in all I prefer the Majora's Mask game more because of all of the reasons I named. I do respect and love Ocarina of Time as well, but I just think that Majora's Mask has more to offer.
  16. Same here. Played a tad more than an hour, but it is truly awesome =3
  17. I'm being addicted to the sims 3 right now. I have all of the expansions installed and it's lots of fun xD It's also pretty frustrating, because it is extremely buggy... It's still a lot of fun, though. My vampire ghosthunter starts collecting chicks now while his plumbot takes care of the annoying tasks. Besides that I also play a couple of Infinity Wars matches online each day.
  18. As OP stated, it greatly differs from person to person. But there are some traits I always find attractive. Physical: Smaller than me, slim (even skinny, as long as it's natural), long hair and CUTENESS! Personality: Shy, calm, funny, geekyness and masochism.
  19. The title says it all. Does anypony play it? I just got into it a couple of days ago and I love it! What is your favourite faction and why? I main Verore ATM and I also use Exile cards quite a lot. I love the trickery those factions have and I believe they work well together. After I get a decent Collection for these two factions I will start collecting Sleeper and/or Genesis cards I think. For those of you who are curious I will tell a bit more about it. Let's say it's a little review, lol. What is Infinity Wars? Infinity Wars is a free online TGC (Trading Card Game). Unlike many popular card games on the internet, you can actually trade cards in this one. This makes it so much more fun and it give you a way to get specific cards relatively easy. What makes this game so special? Short answer? A lot of things. In depth answer? You can't play this game in physical form. The turns are concluded simultanious, so there is quite a bit of prediction involved. If you use a spell that can only target, say, a demon, than that player can prevent that action by turning that demon into something else, causing the spell to "Miss". Stuff like this makes it very important that you try to outpredict your opponent as much as possible, so intentionally making obscure or even stupid plays can work to your advantage if you do it right. The game as a whole has a lot of depth. A common thing to do in this day and age is comparing TGC's with Hearthstone, however, I feel that comparing Infinity Wars with Hearthstone would be unfair. TBH, I'm not a fan of hearthstone. It is way too simplistic IMHO (I'm not saying that you can't make awesome plays in that game, but the game is nonetheless simplistic). A better TGC to compare infinity wars with would be the legendary game Magic the Gathering. Magic the Gathering has a lot of cards that have very complicated or obscure effects. For example, some Magic cards have effects that seem purely negative at first glance, however, combining such a card with a variety of different cards can turn this effect into something very powerfull. Infinity wars does the same thing with their cards. The cards can seem very counterintuitive to use, but combined with certain cards they can be used to completely baffle your opponent. Or, a card with a positive effect can be used to completely stop your opponent. Let me give you an example. One of the cards I love can turn one of your monsters into a Demon with 5/5 (5 attack, 5 defense. This is the average power rating of a low cost creature). This demon also gets Consume, lvl 2 (Whenever this creature kills a creature, Increase power and health by X and heal X, where X is the lvl of Consume). You can use this card in many ways. The most straight forward way is to bait your opponent to attack your weakened monster. Then, you cast this spell (Maybe in combination with a buff) so that his monster gets killed, and your weak demon will start to snowball. A very powerfull effect. However, you can also use this card on his 35/35 monster (STRONG!) to turn him into a petty 5/5 demon. These are just a few simple examples that I can come up with from the top of my head. With 8 factions (not including factionless) there are countless of strategies you can execute with the different cards. The strategies can often be executed with great reliability, because they have added the commander system. What this means is that you pick 3 cards that are in-game from the moment the match starts. This means that you can put cards that are key to your strategy in this section, so that you only need one or two more cards to execute your strategy. Infinity Wars is one big mindgame. It is very well possible to beat an opponent with a superior deck if you use your resources properly. The campaign let's you do that often enough. The cards I already talked about the effects of the cards, so how do they look? They are extremely gorgeous. To start off, all of the cards have animated pictures. This gives each and every one of them a lot of personality. Some cards are plain awesome. Others are funny. And some are just plain sick! Free TGC? I know what that means... Sorry, but it's too expansive. Well, you don't have to worry about that. Yes, you can buy cards. No, the game doesn't become unplayable if you choose not to buy cards with real money. They have a couple of methods to keep people interested in the game, even if they don't want to spend money. To start off, you will earn a lot of cards by simply playing the game. Quests can reward cards (Both single cards and 15 card booster packs), leveling rewards cards and you can earn points by playing the game. The rate at which you earn points is decent, but that isn't what makes this such a fair business model. To clarify that, I will have to talk a bit about the different game modes. You only have starter cards and you are afraid that you get stomped by some player who bought all the decks and 1000+ booster packs? That won't happen (normally). There are 4 normal play modes in this game, one of them being a very good way to find out what cards are in the game. There is also a fifth game mode, but I will talk about that later. I'm only talking about PVP btw. Also, I won't count ranked. First game mode: Infinity Everything goes! Rare, epic, legendary, Star Trek cards (Yes, they exist). This is where you want to go if you have a solid collection of cards. Second game mode: Core As far as I understand it, it is the same as infinity - the crossover cards (Star trek and such). Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't played it. Third game mode: Merged This one is very special. You choose a deck you made and you are pitted against an opponent (duh). You then merge both decks together, so you will get to use their cards as well. This is a great and fun way to play with many different cards and to experiment with different tactics. Fourth game mode: Pauper Don't wanna spent lot's of money on booster packs? This is your mode. You can only use common and uncommon cards here, so by simply completing all of the offline chalanges, you will most likely have enough cards to play this game mode and have a good chance. Then there is the final game mode: Rift Run Rift run allows you to build a deck out of a couple of random cards. For each card, you pick one out of four and then you pick the next one out of the next four. This is a lot of fun and you can get a good feel for the game. This game mode is bit different, because you will have to bet points or money on it. It can be worth it, though, because the rewards can become quite big if you succeed. As you can see, there is plenty to do without spendin money. What did I do? I spent 10 euro's (A bit more thant 10 dollar) to buy myself 2 decks and a booster pack. I don't think I will ever have to spend more money on it at all (Besides buying a skin or somethin, but that doesn't affect gameplay). So, what is wrong with this game? Not much, TBH, but no game is perfect. The game is still pretty buggy because it is in Late Beta. It works good enough, but it is very annoying when your game breaks while you are in a heated battle. Also, the early stage the game is in means that there aren't as many cards in the game when you compare it to older TGC's like MTG or Yu-gi-oh! Finally, the learning curve is pretty steep. The easy AI can be quite challenging when you don't really know what you are doing and the players you face can be total beasts for beginners (like me). But besides these points I can't really think of that many problems the game has. Summery I don't think I have to explain that I'm very psyched about this game. It is one of the best TGC's I've played for sure. It is a cheap (or free) way to play a very deep TGC. Most cards aren't really that hard to get, and trading helps a lot with that. The community is very friendly for as far as I've noticed. It would be very awesome if this game would succeed, so that is why I'm advertising for them. It is most certainly a masterpiece, without a doubt. Final thoughts Note that I have only explained a little part of this game. I haven't even talked about stuff like "Zones" and "Unlimited Characters". The game litarally has many layers of depth that you can explore and master. My info If you want to add me, I'm just called Ardhacandra in the game. The game really needs all of the players it can gather, I believe. I hope I will see many bronies in the game. Enjoy! PS: If you want to know more, feel free to PM me.
  20. Now that I'm thinking about it, the Discworld franchise also makes me smile. TBH, I have never read the books (even though I will, I promise) but I have played both PC games, and a friend of mine DOES read the books and we tend to talk about it quite a bit. It is, without a doubt, one of the most hilarious (if not THE most hilarious) things I know of. And let's not forget that the universe is very smart as well.
  21. I think part of that problem is that most people don't give board games a chance. If you have gamer friends, it might be a good idea to discribe a more complex board game as if it was a video game. If we look at that game the OP is playing... yeah, sounds like a video game to me, even though it isn't. It gets me psyched to try it myself.
  22. Chaotic good is awesome, dude. Never underastimate chaotic good! I prefer chaotic neutral myself, though. Neutrality is the only purity IMO.
  23. Interesting topic, indeed Can't wait to answer it, so here it goes: 1) I must start off by saying that I'm propably one of the LEAST judgemental people you will meet. I don't just base that on my own sense of identity, but also on the reactions I get from people. That being said, yes I judge. Everyone judges, without an exception. I usually judge people on their looks and charms, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Of course, that doesn't define whether or not I like that person, but it gives me an idea of how cautious I want to be around them. Can they understand sarcasm? Can I start talking about controversial subjects soon or late? Stuff like that. It's actually pretty healthy to judge people a little bit, as long as you remember that the idea you get from a first impression isn't accurate. Psychopaths know how important a first impression is and that's how they get close to people. 2) Facebook... I love facebook, and it can give me a general idea of how a person functions and whether or not we have things in common, to a certain degree. Do I condone employers to use it to "spy" on potential employees? HELL NO! Facebook is a crazy place. A lot of people don't take it seriously (even though too many people DO, which is sad). Judging someone on his facebook page is like judging a book by it's cover... literally! A boss usually doesn't care what their employees do in their free time, as long as they don't cause any trouble for the company, so I think it's nasty that they use facebook for first empressions. That's it I guess... Facebook is awesome, but it has it's flaws. I mainly use it to share interesting or funny things, and nothing more.
  24. The IG was actually the only faction I didn't like at the start, because they seemed so generic. However, after looking in to them for a bit... I have to say that they are pretty awesome, indeed Mainly because of the reasons you listed. Now there is NO Warhammer 40K faction I don't like xD
  25. Ahah, yeah Orks are also very cool xD I love how they figured out the "science" that red is faster!
