  1. Since I haven't had a lot of good experiences with people in general, I try to avoid having to put my thresholds for love and tolerance to the test. It usually ends with me being psychotically angry.
  2. There are lots of perfectly safe, utterly adorable images on derpibooru which I have occasionally linked to here on this forum.
  3. I already have kids, so it's a bit of a moot point, but had my son been a girl, we would have named her Brighid, and had my daughter been a boy, he would have been Zachery.
  4. Chrysalis is not evil. She is a benevolent ruler devoted to the well being of her race.
  5. I'm not a huge online shopper, but there are some things I look for online that simply aren't available anywhere else or are (for me, here in Canada) tremendously cheaper than if I were to buy them retail. My usual rule is to buy from as close to the source as possible because that is usually the best price, and if that means ordering directly from the manufacturer online, that's what I do. For example, a few years ago, I bought an England national soccer team shirt to wear during the World Cup. It was available at some local shops, where I could buy it and wear it right away, but instead, I ordered it online, from the Football Association, in England. Even with shipping, handling, customs fees, import duties, taxes and the exchange rate, my shirt was still fifty dollars cheaper than if I had walked into a local store and bought it.
  6. Everyone has boundaries and limits. Andrea Libman's limit is hugs from strangers. Deal with it.
  7. I only got into the series during season 4 so when my DVDs of previous seasons arrived I binged them all over a few days.
  8. Trixie! Seriously, after her attempted coup of Ponyville, why isn't she still in Tartarus?
  9. And Pinkie Pie's is bright pink. I think there's every reason to believe that, just like in Equestria, their hair colours are natural. If anything, it would be more distracting to them to see a young student who had died their hair grey like the Mayor.
  10. Sometimes it's not that complicated: My headcanon is that Blueblood is heavy into yachting.
  11. My headcanon has been and remains that Blueblood is the direct descendant of Princess Platinum, and thus is heir to the throne of the Unicorn Kingdom. Although his family no longer rules a kingdom, or even part of one, they have kept the title as a courtesy due to their ancestors' role in founding Equestria. While this may not preclude him also being a multi-generations removed relation to Celestia as well, I think being called her "nephew" might also have been honourary.
  12. The show's view of friendship may be somewhat exaggerated, and of course, villains seeing the error of their ways has become cliche (although Sombra, Chrysalis and Tirek were pretty unrepentant), the show's emphasis on what makes for good friendships - Honesty, Loyalty, Generosity, Laughter and Kindness - ring true no matter what. So while the mane 6 may seem like impossibly good Besties, those elements are likely to get you at least a couple real genuine friends with the possibility of lasting a lifetime.
  13. Watch the show and enjoy it. Ignore the fans who complain. Make up your own mind about the show. I haven't truly despised a single episode, even ones the fandom at large seems to hate. Forget the fans if it keeps you from enjoying the show.
  14. Canadian here. I'm not at all surprised, really. Britain was getting the shaft from the EU on issues like number of refugees they were being told to take and bailouts to bankrupt EU members like Greece. The only thing that surprises me about the result is that Germany didn't do it first.
  15. Bet on it. Hasbro has a history of making its movies darker stretching all the way back to the Gen 1 Transformers movie in 1985. The question is not "Will it be darker?" but "How much darker will it be?"
  16. Beat me to it. Hands down, the most incredible game name ever.
  17. There are two series I've watched multiple times. One was easy to do that with, the other was quite hard. I own the one-and-only season of the original Battlestar Galactica and still enjoy watching it on a regular basis. The other one, which I don't own but have seen repeatedly due to the magic of reruns, is M*A*S*H.
  18. If you talk to some of the students at Canterlot High, they may tell you of the strange, stormy, lightning-filled night, when some students were passing by the school late at night, and they thought they heard the clang of steel upon steel, saw the sparks of energy that came from clashing swords, the horrific shadowy sight of one of the two combatants falling, headless, to the ground, and the triumphant cries of the victor, lightning crashing around her, as she exclaimed, "There can be only one!"
  19. Twilight's enduring flaw is that she's got a little OCD. Things have to be organized to the finest detail, or she gets frazzled, and doesn't adapt well. The others are spot on.
  20. I think the attempt was made to establish a measurement of time specific to their civilization, which was a good idea, but it ended up being confusing because of real-world connections and it didn't always remain consistent. A similar thing happened in the original Battlestar Galactica from the 70's, where numerous different terms were used for measurements of time, but again, not always consistently (they ended up making fun of it themselves in one episode).
  21. I got John DeLancie's autograph at a convention once! (Before anyone says he's from MLP, the picture he autographed for me shows him wearing a Starfleet uniform.)
  22. Truffles. Ponies love truffles. Also fertilizer. Farmers love fertilizer.
  23. Trixie doesn't appear to have a terribly high level of magical ability, but then, the kinds of tricks she does on stage don't involve high levels of magic. Perhaps Trixie dropped out of Celestia's school. In any case, her talent doesn't seem to have anything to do actual magic.
  24. I have actually seen absolutely none of the recent Marvel movies leading up to and including the Avengers films.
