Yeah, I did. I wanted to wait and watch it all in order, but there were too many spoilers. After having both the main characters and the main villain spoiled, I figured it would be best to just watch it.
It was really good in my opinion, but I'm kind of annoyed. Seems like most people didn't make even the slightest attempt to not spoil stuff, as it was all over the place.

The disabling magic throne was a neat touch as it added suspense, though how Chrysalis could still use her own magic is odd.
They mentioned earlier in the episode how it disables all magic except for Changeling magic. So, that's why Chrysalis's magic still worked.

Just here to say, as sad as I am I watched this early, this was great. An episode all about the reformed villains? Yes. Discord and Starlight and Trixie and Thorax, Yes! This was great and I loved every minute. I'm happy Chrysalis isn't reformed, she's an amazing villain.
Also...I love the new Changeling designs. I think they look cool as heck and I don't care what anyone else thinks, if you disagree, fine, but I love them. Really hoping we get Thorax and more Changeling's in season 7 episodes.

...You're missing Fluttershy.
The cute shy yellow one who loves animals, element of Kindness? You know, that one.

I'm not sure if she herself will be the main character in the season 7 premiere, but I imagine she's going to be getting more focus again next season, along with the rest of the mane six.
I'm not expecting Starlight to go away though, she seems like she's here to stay.
-
Honestly, I think all 3 of the CMC being siblings of the mane six would have felt a little too "Perfect", I'm glad they didn't do that. She's pretty much Dash's adopted sister now anyway, and that fits just fine.
Also, I'll say I think it's nice at least one of the mane six is an only child, as one myself. It's not a huge deal to me, but it does feel a bit strange to me in shows when EVERYONE seems to have a sibling. I can appreciate a good sibling relationship, but I can't really relate to it.

Ah? Never watched that show, so don't know what episode you're talking about.

I'm not sure, I'd hope so.
I'd probably try to get outside and find help that way.
-
Sounds pretty good. I wonder what they'll be about, maybe holiday specials? I also wonder how long they'll be, obviously not movie length.

Yeah, but you usually don't think about it. I just had it almost happen, so that's a bit frightening. Gonna take me a bit to calm down.
Glad you're getting some more rest, that's good.

Paranoid and freaked out. Almost just choked on my food.
I'm home alone, so I could have just ended up dying with no chance of getting help.
Yikes.
How are you?

Hi.

The Mane Six seem to have been Young adults even back in season 1. I'm not sure aging the CMC straight up to their age right away would be a good idea. However, maybe aging them to that over time would be good, if the show goes on that long. I'd definitely like to see them age at least a bit in the next season, even if it was just physically doing something like they did with Alicorn Twi and making them a bit taller or something.
There's some more potential for stories about growing up with an older CMC that I'd certainly like to see. However, if they do this, they have to commit to aging some other characters too. The rest of the CMC's classmates would have to age a bit. Also, Pound and Pumpkin Cake and Flurry Heart. Especially Pound and Pumpkin, because those two practically seem like they're going to be babies forever.
Wouldn't mind Spike finally showing a bit of natural non-greed triggered growth too.

Yes. Yes, I would have very much liked to have attended CHS. A high school where a lot of the students are actually nice? Where I have the potential to hang out with the mane 7? With a portal to Equestria I could "Accidentally" find and explore the world on the other side?
Seriously, this sounds like the only situation on the planet where I would actually WANT to go to high school.

In Australia, it already is on Neflix though.
It's on Netflix in the US too, what people mean though is it becoming a Netflix exclusive, or coming on Netflix first before airing on TV.
-
Considering the magic mirror that leads to the Equestria Girls universe, plus Discord ripping open a hole to another universe with sock puppets, we know alternate universes exist in MLP. So, it makes the most sense that the show itself is meant to be in a universe different from our own.

There is a Pony called Trixie and another called Machintosh.
Big Macintosh is named after a type of apple though, so it fits with the pony naming theme, which something like Megan doesn't...generally. You are right about Trixie however, and there's also a serpent named Steven, so a pony named Megan isn't too out there.
No, Scorpan was a King and Tirek conquered Scorpan's kingdom, enslaving him and cursing him to be a hideous Gargoyle. This definitely makes me believe the Tirek and Scorpan in G4 aren't meant to be the same then.
I don't watch FiM, but I watched G1 when I was a child. I do occasionally read up on FiM stuff when it involves something related to G1, and I would like to see them use characters like Emperor Grogar and King Lavan. Keeping with the Greek mythology theme of FiM, Lavan could be a Titan and Grogar could possibly have something to do with the Underworld/Tarterus. Hades himself wore a Ram's skin, so there might be a reference there.I'll just say, I agree and think bringing back more G1 villains and characters would be pretty cool.
-
I mean Tirek, Scorpan and their story does seem to resound the way G1 was and is now connected to G4, it can be a possibility
Were Scorpan and Tirek originally brothers? I don't remember.
It's possible, sure. But it could also just be that the G4 universe has alternate versions of them. The Smooze is also from G1, but doesn't seem much at all like the G1 version.
-
Possibly, if you want to connect G1 canon to G4 canon anyway.
But Megan doesn't sound like an EQG name, does it? The humans in the Equestria Girls world share names with their pony world counterparts, so...would that mean there's a pony named Megan?
I'd say G1's Pony and human world are probably just two more universes in the "MLP Multiverse" like the main G4 world, EQG, that puppet dimension Discord opened up, or the Mirror world from the comics.

Perhaps just a small break will do you some good? I had one point where my interest in the show dwindled a little a few seasons back, and just a bit of time away from it to do other things helped, when I returned I was fully ready for ponies again!
Though, your reason seems to be that you don't enjoy the current season, which is admittedly something I don't have experience with. I've greatly enjoyed every season, including 6 so far. Honestly, the amount of people who dislike it surprises me. But if that's the case, maybe rewatching older episodes you do enjoy could help? Maybe waiting for the next season, or the movie or whatever might help too. Just because you don't enjoy what it's offering now, doesn't mean you won't enjoy what might come in the future.
The important thing is to have fun though, you don't have to force yourself to enjoy the show if you don't anymore, it's fine to move on if that's what you want to do.

I love their stories, the Over the top flanderized OOC interpretations of their friends each of the three had were great. I especially loved Pirate AJ and Darling Rarity Darling...Darling. Spike was great too, this was overall a pretty funny episode.
Good lesson too, stuff like this happens a lot when people fail to communicate, it's a bit exaggerated for comedy here, but otherwise true to life. You'd think this problem wouldn't happen with such good friends who know each other so well, and for so long. But in some cases that can almost make it worse. You might get so used to them acting certain ways, that when they "Break Character" in your mind, even when they really didn't, it can put you off quite a bit.
And I'm glad this episode had so much focus on Twilight as well, she's felt like she was a bit on the sideline this season so far.
I had fun, it was a good episode.

"To Where and Back Again" Thoughts and review
in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I really liked it, the focus on the secondary characters this time around was great. Especially loved the adorableness of Starlight and Trixie, and all the banter between Discord and Trixie. It's an entire 2-parter with very little focus on the Mane Six, and that'd something new. The return of Chrysalis was great, since she's one of my favorite villains in the show, and overall I just had a great time watching this.
Also, don't care what anyone says, new Changeling forms are gorgeous and I love them.
I feel like the more hate I see for Starlight, the more it makes me love her, she's moving up my favorites list incredibly quick now.
Sorry you don't like her, but I'm really hoping she sticks around.
