    I imagine the brony fanbase will become allot smaller now that g4 has ended. But as long as fans stick around and keep making content, it shouldn't disappear. Maybe that's just my optimistic side speaking though.

    All seriousness, just got done rewatching the first episode of season 1. First episode of MLP I've watched in like 4 years. The intro brought back memories of high school when I got into the show. Almost teared up.

    If you think about it, it takes thick skin to watch MLP FiM at first. You have to get past the barrier of insecurity in regards to watching something "girly", and realize it's okay and shouldn't matter. Due to the way socialization works, that's something that repels allot of men in society. But after conquering that insecurity, you then realize how entertaining and well written the show actually is. That's merely going off my experience though. Everyone has a different story.

      I saw someone on YouTube in the comments tell a guy that they’d never get a girlfriend because they liked MLP. I told THAT person that I’d never date someone who’s masculinity is so fragile that it’s threatened by a cartoon horse.

      I know right? Heck what’s even worse for me is when someone just shuns animation as a whole because “cartoons are only for children”. It’s just blows my mind. I thought people would be less susceptible to peer pressure as they age, but it seems like some people just get worse.

    Funny thing about making low-key references to being a brony in other online communities is that if somebody picks up on the reference and tries to out you, they're also outing themselves.

      LOOOL! Maybe it’s only cause I’m a pegasister, but I feel like that is a very on-the-nose brony name. I suppose a non-brony wouldn’t make the connection though.

      lol yep! the first season all over again.

      For me, just binge watching fanfic readings are all I did back then for the most part in terms of consuning fanmade content. It's most of what I've been listening to on my work shifts lately.

    I'd probably do fanfic reading if I got into YouTube. Not sure if I have the proper voice, but it would be worth a shot.

      I have met many here that likes reading fan fics out loud. What is it that makes that such an interesting thing? You know, to have your voice read in public?

      I am afraid of reading out loud, that's why I am asking.

    I pretty much like Fluttershy and Luna equally. They're both equally likable for different reasons.

      Any specific episodes you have watched? Or just in general?

      (No spoilers) They do get some highlights later on in the series, so you have things to look forward to! :yay:

      Can't really think of any (it's all sort of a blur due to time). Any episodes focusing on Fluttershy I knew were some of my favorites though. She's such an adorable lovable kind character.

      For unique things, you have to watch the later part of season 5, as well as some almost too cute moments in season 7. You need to! When you have the time of course.

       

      If you need specific episodes, i can tell you, but there are continuity that you should probably watch the entire series all the way though! I recommend that strongly!

       

      And that's coming from me that is not a super MLP FIM fan. :mlp_icwudt:

    Think I'll keep watching anime, but stay out of the fanbase. Think it's for the best.

      You never need to leave a fanbase, but you can choose to ignore it.
       

      Anime is still Anime, and sometime you need information that only the fanbase can provide.

       

      What kind of Anime are we talking about? I probably don't know it. I am a simple Anime guy, you know DBZ, Bleach, One Punch Man. And original Pokemon (season 1 to 9). Really simple! I love the art (inspiring), and complexity of the characters (which you never find in cartoons otherwise, well maybe a little in MLP or Steven Universe, but that's not even on the scale).

      Ah, it just has to do with various anime communities I've been apart of and the constant fetishization of clearly underage/underage looking characters. Anybody who's familiar with allot of the anime forum boards probably know what I'm talking about. Didn't go too much into this in my reintroduction given the iffy nature of the topic itself.
