  1. Short answer yes. Long answer... so it is technically canon, but I don't like to think of it as canon, it breaks the illusion of Equestria being a totally different place. That is not to say i did not like it. I thought it was great, it is very different from the show but still keeps that MLP feel. It was very funny to see a pony try and adapt to acting like a human, ie, picking things up with their mouth instead of their (brand new) hands, or running and dancing on all fores as apposed to on two feet. I also think the music was very good, better than a lot of the stuff from the show (not that any of the show music is bad, I love it all) So  yes, you should watch it, if for no other reason then to understand it (being apart of the franchise and all) But I think it is enjoyable to.

  2. OK so I am very interested (and have been for some time) in the human mind and psyche. Especially sleep and hypnotism. I am looking for extensive and reliable information on the subjects of dreaming, the subconscious, hypnosis, hallucinations,  binaural beats, tulpas, sleep, comas, the imagination, and other related elements that have to do with the human mind and the way it works, primarily it's creative ability and it's ability to alter a persons perceived reality, both when lucid, and not.

So anybody who has credible and reliable scientific information or informational resources on the subject I would love if you could share them with me. Again I am looking for legitimate information on this, not just a Wikipedia page. So if you know of books, documentaries, or online documentation, (the latter being ideal) Please share them with me. If you personally have taken an interest in this category of psychology and have done research or experiments of your own, that would be welcome to.  Any legitimate help on the subject would be most appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. not trying to be a jerk but I am looking for information. This is not a thread to discus the random dream you had last night, or that your heard a friend of a friend say that you can hypnotizes a person to be an assassin. This is a thread for sharing legitimate information and facts.

  3. Well, the most efficient way to dream about something specific is to trigger a lucid dream. You don't have to control it. What you can do is create the dream world (Equestria in your case) and then, just watch as a spectator and let the dream unfold by itself.

ok then my next question would be how to trigger a lucid dream about ponies. Do you have any suggestions?

  4. When I click on the "my Content" tab under my profile, it brings me to the correct page but for some reason non of my post are shown. there is just a message saying  "There is no information to show."

I would like to know how to fix this problem or if it even is fixable. I used the "my content a lot to check on older post and stuff and am having a hard time keeping track of all my post. Any and all help on the subject would be much appreciated, thanks.

  5. Ok, so I want to start out by saying this is not a lucid dreaming thread, so If you are looking how to precisely control your dreams than this is not the thread for you. What I wan to know is how to make yourself dream about a certain subject, MLP for example. I don't want to control the dreams, I just want to know some... tips and tricks on how to influence your brain to dream about something specific, I don't even know if this is possible but that's why I am asking. Like is there something I can do before I go to bed to make myself dream about MLP. I have watched the show three times now and constantly eat and breath  my little pony. And usually I watch the show and really "pony out" right before bed. The weird part is that I have never, once, ever, had one single dream about My little pony, and I would like to. So if you have any suggestions on how I could go about dreaming about MLP I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

  6. So I have ponyhoof for FB and love the little desktop pony option so I can have little pixel ponies running all over the place. I then heard that you could get desktop ponies as a program on your computer so you can have them all the time not just with ponyhoof. The problem is I can't find it on the web. I just want a bunch of ponies running all over my screen all the time!

So my question is how do I get desktop ponies? Can you even get this program any more? Where can I find it and how does it work? Any and all info you can give me on the subject would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  7. Well if we look at the way their government works we can deduct a few things. 1, There have only ever been female rulers of equestria. and 2, there are no male alicorns. It seems that ponies have a very female dominant society, while I don't think ponies are sexiest, but it does seem that only female ponies control the largest positions of power.

  8. High fantasy is vastly underrated, everyone's going for the grimdark settings these days.

I just started reading Lord of the Rings again and it's surpassed Game of Thrones despite me saying only a few months ago that Game of Thrones is better than any of Tolkien's stuff.

I don't think Game of Thrones is high-fantasy, it's not really "epic" and it's a very low magic setting. Admittedly magic is returning but it's but widely used and I get the impression that it was only available to a select group of people when it was around.

Then again, maybe it's becoming high fantasy as the books go on?

No you are right, it is barely high fantasy. It fits the bill because there is technically magic, even though like you said it is basically non existent. It is also set in a medieval, non real world, and I personally think that an almost continent wide war counts as epic.

But I do understand what you mean, While it "technically" is high fantasy, it barley qualifies.

And Yes I think Tolkien's stuff is WAY better than Game of Thrones. But other than MLP, Tolkien's works are my favorite, so that is a bias opinion.

  9. OK I am a HUGE fan of high fantasy anything. Be it video games, books, movies, TV shows, short stories, art work or anything else. So I decided to start this thread so people can share all their favorite High Fantasy media. Now if you don't know what high fantasy is this is the wikipedia description.

"High fantasy is a sub-genre of fantasy fiction, defined either by its setting in an imaginary world or by the epic stature of itscharactersthemes and plot. Quintessential works of high fantasy, such as The Lord of the RingsMalazan Book of the Fallen, andThe Wheel of Time, have both of these attributes. High fantasy exists on one side of a spectrum, opposite low fantasy or urban fantasy, which are set in more realistic worlds. Some works, such as The Chronicles of NarniaThe Chronicles of Thomas Covenant,The Mortal Instruments, and The Neverending Story, concern characters that travel between realistic and imaginary settings, and are thus difficult to classify on this spectrum. High fantasy is often classified as epic fantasy; although the two subgenres are extremely similar, the latter usually contains a wider range of main characters."

Now the way I define High fantasy is any medieval fantasy story of epic proportions set in a non real world. So while Narnia, for example, is medieval fantasy it has very real link to the real world and therefore is not high fantasy. Examples of high fantasy are, Lord of the rings, Game of Thrones, The Inheritance series, Skyrim and the whole elder scrolls franchise, Dungeons and Dragons, Magic the Gathering, and The Name of the Wind just to name a few.

For those of you who don't know The genre of high fantasy, also known as epic fantasy, was created by author of the Lord of the rings, J.R.R. Tolkien with his creation of Middle Earth, Beriland. He is a personal Hero of mine for this reason and many others.

So please everypony feel free to recommend books, movies, and Tv shows, discus media, Post art or music, and generally talk about high Fantasy. I do have to ask that we stay on topic and post ONLY about high fantasy. While books like Harry Potter, and Narnia are very good they are not high fantasy and therefore don't belong in this thread. If you are unsure about something PM me first and I will let you know if it fits the Genre. So lets get talking!

  10. At least you aren't like "no mah rool iz rite u dum" because (not here) I've seen people like that. The funny part is I started watching out of boredom when I was 12. I'm just destroying your rule. I'm almost 14 though now. So soon, I will fit your original rule.

Now I have to totally redefine my rule, darn  ^_^ I know people like that and it sucks interacting with them. Don't let them give you crap though, stay cool, stay kind, and love MLP. Love and tolerate man.

  11. I'm 13 though. :(

    Stupid character minimum.

Ha, Well then you break my rule! :P Like I said this was just in my experience and in most cases. No matter what you are talking about in life there is always an exception to the rule. Keep calm and Brony on my friend.

  12. Really? Why that specific age?

Because, in my experience, Any person under the age of 14 that enjoys MLP does not consider themselves a brony. I conducted a few surveys on this actually, some on this site, some not, but in almost all cases any person under the age of 14 either does not like it, Or they are a very young girl who likes it (meaning girls who the show was actually intended for). I know there maybe be a few 13 year olds out there who consider themselves bronies, but the very few I have met ( 3 actually)  did not watch the show and where only interested in it because of an older sibling. I bet that was a little longer than you where expecting, sorry. I tend to ramble.
