  1. I have a story about an incident that occurred only a few days ago, but it was more like being disrespected than being bullied. Here's what happened: I was sitting in my dorm, very much enjoying myself, when I hear a knock on the door. Upon opening the door, I see a fellow (let's call him Jim) who I met the night before. We had talked about Pink Floyd and got on fine then. When I greeted him, he told me his iPod was having issues and he needed a computer. So, being the influenced person I am, I obliged to help him. Literally the moment we went to sit down, he noticed my MLP belt. He asked me in a tone, "why do you have ponies on your belt?" Unless this question was genuine, it seemed very obvious. I politely answered, "because I like ponies." This statement was followed by jim yawning a drawn out, "really?" I knew he was intolerant of bronies. I said, "yes. Are you judging me for a show that I like?" He did say "yes." I told him that wasn't a good thing and that he shouldn't do that. After logging onto my computer, he noticed my Celestia wallpaper. Again, he let out a "really, dude?" This time, I had become irritated. I said in a harsher tone, "get over it, I'm gonna like what I like." This was the last I heard of his complaining. After the ordeal had ended, I couldn't help but think about his attitude. I did nothing wrong to him, in fact, I was going out of my way to help him. But he was still behaving like a bigoted douche. Had he disrespected me again, he would no longer have been welcomed to my services, and I certainly would not go out of my way to deal with him anymore. I saw him yesterday and he told me he asked me if I'd seen the Brony documentary. After telling him that I had, he asked me what I thought about it—to which I said that I thought it could have been better (i did feel very inspired after watching it the first time). He told me that, and I'm paraphrasing here, "they went out of their way to find the most disgusting people." Now, I understand that the people they focused on weren't any superstars, but calling them "disgusting" is pretty harsh if you ask me. The point is that his view of the fandom has been skewed from the beginning and there's really nothing I could do. But I think I handled his rotten attitude pretty well! Anyway, that's my story, and I'm glad to tell whoever has the patience to read it.
  2. I'm thinking about the first tasks of the day that I shall complete before being lazy on my day off: (1) do my laundry, (2) set up my hammock, (3)read my physics book, (4) go to lunch once the cafeteria is open.
  3. Sure, we can create a zillion jobs, but are they long-term? I mean, once all the concrete in America has been replaced, can we reliably say that all these people will still have jobs in the industry?
  4. Not only that, but I think that the real problem with this idea is that by abolishing the oil, coal, and gas companies, we are putting millions of people out of work. Sure, we can maybe put them to work on the solar panel project, but I'd like to know if there are enough sustainable jobs to replace every single one of those who would be laid off.

  8. If Celestia's only weakness is magic stronger than hers, I suppose she wouldn't really have an issue quarantining a beast such as Godzilla. I would call that a defeat.
  9. I don't think America will "die out" without a serious fight, or a catastrophic event. Because America is a major world power, the likelihood that it will cease to exist due to political matters is extremely unlikely. I think that the most plausible way America will become politically null is from either a global government absorbing it, or another country conquering it. However, the former seems more likely, as right now, America has some pretty big biceps when it comes to its military. Whether or not you would consider America's absorption into a greater government a dying off is your opinion. Secondly, America could cease to exist in the event of an end-of-the-world event such as a serious meteoric catastrophe, a viral epidemic, or any other sort of situation that would cause nearly all of the population of the U.S. to be deceased and the government to abandon itself. As I said before, with the entire world populated, and America on top as a world power, it is incredibly unlikely that it will "die off" any time soon. However, of the three events I find plausable, I do think the final situation of apocalypse is easily the most likely to cause America's decline.
  10. Arguing about religion has no point, and it is driven from fear of the unknown. educate yourself then argue philosophy instead. I'm religiously neutral, but if there is a god, it is a neutral god that is not biased. If there is an afterlife, I like to think that people who are inherently good will have a good afterlife. But then there's the chance that there is no afterlife, and that's okay too. There is no "gay gene," but genetic influence is possible Homosexuals take themselves way too seriously. I think that people have sexual preferences, and that a homosexual is absolutely not different at all from a heterosexual. That's like saying I am special because I like The Beatles while you like Eminem. Taking away America's guns would be a positive step forward in our society I think education and healthcare should be free to the public even if that involves higher taxes Political parties are the worst thing to happen to democracy Everyone is a little gay having two established gender roles in America is not nearly enough Education is the best way to make progress in society Evolutionary Theory has been established by Darwin and Wallace's Natural Selection; there is no debate among the people whose opinions actually matter. Creationism is bigoted bullhockey from a scientific, non-religious point of view People aren't inherently "good" or "bad" at mathematics, it just takes practice and study It's okay to have odd sexual fetishes so long as you aren't hurting anybody It's okay to consume intoxicating substances so long as you aren't hurting anybody, including yourself European models for economy work better Applejack needs more love Celestia is Best Princess

  12. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Applejack How did you find MLP Forums?: Through Google, I found the MLP Forums How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I became a fan of MLP: FiM at the end of 2011 during the middle of season 2. Being exposed to counter-culture at the time, I was curious about the image of Rainbow Dash. After a little investigation, I began watching the show. Hello everyone! My name is Funky, and I am a student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. I just finished my first year at my local community college, and while sitting around at my computer, I've decided to create an account here on this lovely website. My involvement in the fandom is not impressive; I once made it onto EqD with a song entitled "Purple Mare" under the name Atlas. If you felt so inclined to do, you could search YouTube to find my song on your own. I've successfully spread the pony fever into my old friend group, but since high school (senior year was 2011-2012), the group has disbanded and I am really the only pony-fan left. ("Brony" doesn't feel like a good word these days, and while I still believe that the definition does include me, I don't feel the way that some people portray the stereotypical brony.) Since season 4 began, I've been very fond of underappreciated ponies such as Applejack and Celestia, as well as minor-role ponies such as Maud Pie, Ms. Harshwhinny, and Coco Pommel. I think I like the ambiguity of these ponies and that their roles seems so fresh relative to other ponies. I hope to become involved in the fandom here on the forum site and make a few new friends here on the site, as well as contribute to conversation and ideas presented by others.
