Why hello there new friends! I'm writing a paper for my college communications class. We were given an assignment to Compare two different topics. I've chosen to compare Bronies and Trekkies in the hopes to try and lessen some of the stigma we as a community get. However, I need a little help. Until I got this assignment I was perfectly content to just talk to my friends about the wonder that is MLP, but I've realized that my knowledge of the community as a whole is lacking. I want to get to know more about what you all think about the conventions, the art, music and literature that come out of the love of a great show. I'd also want to know about anything you guys do in the communities you live in. What do you guys think? Wanna help a pony out? -

My name is Cheery Blossom and I've never been on a forum before. I was content to just talk to my friends about how much I loved MLP. Recently however, I was given an assignment for my college communications class to write a comparison paper about whatever I wanted. I decided to write about The Brony community. I want to write a paper that shows people how as a community we deserve to be welcomed instead of scorned. My teacher mentioned that it would be a good idea to go to the forums as you are the experts in the field I need to research. Would anyone be willing to let me know your thoughts and experiences?
