it depends what you’re tying to build really. Regular length nails are fine for most DIY work or furniture making, but long nails are definitely better if you’re working with masonry.

I’ve always been quite fond of aluminum myself. It’s not as durable as other metals, but its light weight and malleability mean it’s very versatile and has a lot of applications
