  3. You should not use normal months names in Equestria. Neither assume they are 12 or their duration being ~30 days (the only thing we know about them is that at least one of the months have 21 days or more). An Equestrian year could be longer than 365 days (it will explain a lot of things); based on the translation of the planet around a center of mass that is never visible from Equestria (a black hole or a small red dwarf in a tidal lock); requiring the use of a suspended artificial sun and moon to provide light (but not the main anciliary heat, that will be transported by winds from the "always day" side).
  4. There is Twilight´s birthday in "Sweet and Elite" [s2E09]. Since its script was originally done for season 1 (as part of the "Saga of the Gala"); there is a line from Twilight sugesting it has not happened yet: We know this episode can not had happened closer to the second Gala of "Make New Friends but Keep Discord" [s5E07] [even if we assume it happened just after Magical Mystery Cure [s3E13]; because in the same episode Fluttershy mentions her travel to go to see the breezies ("Three's a Crowd" [s4E11]), were there was a cameo of the pegasus Flash Sentry [who was presented as "a new royal guard" by Cadance in the first Equestria Girls that happened at the "Fall Formal" event of C.H.S. but sometime before the second "Summer Sun Celebration" (the Equestria solstice from Spring to Summer). Then, since it was summer when Twilight got the tickets for the first Gala in "Ticket Master" [s1E03]: And it is implied the event that is "upcoming" in the same episode happens at the begining of a season: Then we can assume Twilight´s birthday happens between the "longest day of the year" (solstice from Spring to Summer) and the next equinox (Summer to Autum); being closer to the latter. It also means her first birthday as an alicorn has already happened; unless she decided to celebrate instead the day of Magical Mystery Cure, (since she was "reborn" after being vaporized by the elements), that will happen a little before the third Summer Sun Celebration.
  5. This. Since my room lacks an A.C. or a heater, I like sleeping naked both when its hot (no blankets or bedsheets), and when it is cold (thick blankets in layers). Some weeks near the equinoxes, I may wear a long sleeve and socks (just in case I pulled out the bedsheet while sleeping), to avoid gettin a cold [not for comfort, as I feel them unnecesary]; no underwear.
  6. Just readed your blog about "The War on Science". Thanks for sharing that YT video (I was not aware of how bad things were politically in 2015); you reached at least one new person who agrees.

  7. What he (the O.P.) was trying to ask, is how Sunset Shimmer and the Dazzlings stories in C.H.S. could have being developed in each of the other alternate timelines. The events of EG3 would never had happened as in the movie; tough most of EG1(Through the Mirror) and the coldstart of EG2:(RainbowRocks) had events that will keep happening [unless the mirror in the side of Equestria is destroyed/disabled in the first year after the return of Nightmare Moon, blocking the access to thief!Sunset]. EG1: Regardless of the nonsense behind the initial "intel" & "logistics" Sunset Shimmer somehow acquired before jumping into Equestria; she has the clear intent of getting a device cappable of storing or generating magic and move it to C.H.S. before activating it. EG2: When magic is released in C.H.S. it brings the attention of Adagio Dazzle (she feeled before actually watching the green column of dark energy). Even if Sunset Satan escapes to Equestria with her army before the sirens could see it, there is always a posibility of someone else watching the massive exodus of demons and zombies into the statue (or they may use their necklaces as sensors, knowing there was magic somewhere in that school recently, eventually finding the statue).
  8. This first part: You got something wrong about Unicorn!Twilight; in any of the altered timelines she is not Celestia´s pupil. In fact (unless her parents did something ilegal), she should not be allowed to enter Celestia´s School for Gifted Unicorns, because she has no observable talent on magic [she failed the entrance exam]. Also, Spike should remain as a dragon egg for a few extra centuries [if not thousands of years]. Regardless of this, even if she somehow became one of the many normal students of the school; she would not become power hungry nor will escape. First, because the seeds of distrust and underestimation of her capacity to understand secrets about magic (that prompted Sunset Shimmer´s natural rage; because of her sanguine/coleric personality) would not be there to begin with [precisely because of the experience with Sunset Shimmer]. Celestia will either conceal perfectly that knowledge [for super Safety]; or it will introduce any potential student into "other dark stuff" first in order to learn about their ambitions, commitment and patience (giving them the benefit of the doubt, even if it risk losing them to "the dark side"). Even if unicorn!Twilight becomes evil or misguided regardless, she would not look to learn things from other villains (nor they will accept her as a pupil, because they will think she is a spy working for Celestia). If you force this situation... Chrysalis can not teach much to a unicorn (unless conversion into a changeling is posible... unlikely). Sombra does not need an aware, free unicorn learning his secrets: he could just cast a obedience spell (or put those war helmets) to make her another usefull soldier in his army. In fact, the only one that may be interested on having help from an unicorn would be Tirek (when he is weak and helpless); only to betray her and took her magic later. Spike is an egg in all altered timelines. If super lucky, a unicorn with a cutiemark in hatching chicken eggs may do the trick and make him a baby dragon (in this case it will become the responsability of that unicorn as soon as he/she is old enough. The mane 5 will continue their lives in their birthplaces at first, moving or not depending of random factors. Rainbow Dash may stay in Cloudsdale or not; becoming a rookie in the military or a criminal (who knows!). Fluttershy will move to anyplace under Cloudsdale (the city moves to bring winter) whenever her family [brother?] rejects her or an oportunity gets offered [her cottage in Ponyville is probably not hers, but provided by the comunity in exchange of animal care]. Applejack do not have what is required to be a city pony, so she will come back to the farm regardless. Rarity obsession with clothes predates the sonic rainboom, she will become a dress...something. She may go to other cities for work or stay in Ponyville to be the bigger fish in the small pond. Pinkie Pie may become a traveler like Cheese or stay in any town other than Ponyville. She may never learn to bake properly. Step by step: Sunset Shimmer came back to Equestria to stole a powerfull magical SOURCE [the alicorn amulet may do the trick]; to gain (relatively) great power in the other world [has almost no magic whatsoever]; acquiring an army of mentally weak young disposable slaves that will fight (and die) for her without having any choice. If the magical source if not powerfull enough, she will just keep it in the other world, becoming the local unnoposed ruler. If instead surpass her calculations [how it happened with the Element of Magic], she will bring her dream of replacing Celestia and ruling her Kingdom true. In the first scenario, the Sirens will become aware of her; with Adagio making some questions (acquiring INTEL) before trying to absorb her magic. Depending of what she found, she may try to obtain the location of the portal or defeat Sunset. If successfull in collecting the information, the sirens may skip Sunset altogether (they have no reason to fight her having so much safer magic to get in Equestria); leaving her to rule CHS. In the second case they will probably win a magic battle [because Sunset sucks as a villain]; gaining extra power AND the location of the portal (they do not really need to keep control over a unicorn, after she gives them some guidance about modern Equestria she will be dumped/released). If they remain undetected, they could gain power slowly on remote places [much like TIREK]; finally gathering great ammount of ponies as their servants and protectors (moving from place to place, increasing their numbers and spreading hate). By the time the princesses get to notice of them, the ammount of chaos and multiple small civil wars generated by their negative energy will consume all of their efforts (Celestia can not just NUKE all innocent civilians in the way to get were the Dazzlings are and defeat them); at some point evacuating their area [leaving behind the dominated ponies] will be easier than fighting an endless futile war with them.
  9. Episodes like Daring Dont [s4E04] show us that regional scale villains are constantly defeated by ponies as anonymous as the mane six were before Twilight´s coronation and Castle sprouting. Equestrian society DID survive by itself in the Sombra timeline (it has tones of the WW2, meaning it will be long, terrible but it will end well for the survivors). In the worst case scenario the ponies of Equestria will have to leave to other lands to avoid enforced slavery [just like it happened eons ago with the Windigos]; since its unlikely that Sombra actually wanted WORLD domination. In the Changeling timeline Canterlot was conquered, but aparently Ponyville was left alone (otherwise the "trick" they were trying to do pull would have never worked). Most of the ponies in Zecora´s village probably fled in advance because of the inminent invasion (instead of being persecuted by the bugs). Since Crysalis was not interested on capturing ALL ponies of the village (taking just their leader willingly if that was posible); it means they do not have unlimited "changeling resources" or space in the Canterlot Dungeons; meaning most ponies in Equestria will be free to live their lives as long as they do not oppose nor help "The Resistance" [ocasionally being drained of their good vibes is just another tax to pay to the current regent]. There is always hope to restore the control of the country to ponykind in the far future. The Endless Night of Nightmare Moon has not created the mass plant death from lack of sunlight. The racism to non-ponies may root from the scarcity of food (since things may grow slower in the Celestia enhanced moonlight). Otherwise a tolerable existence is one with zero hope of changing status quo for at least a thousand years (probably more, since Nightmare Moon will ensure nothing would be ready to either weaken her or help Celestia). Something similar with Discord (more nasty, since he do not care about ponies wellbeing nor want respect or adoration). Tirek just destroys everything from pure boredom. Is no more than a force of nature like Wendigos. Massive exodus of ponies and non-ponies to other lands. The Flim Flam Brothers timeline is one where the society of Equestria decided to suicide itself slowly. It is their problem, not Twilight´s responsability. The wasteland is either a Secret Boss that never popped out in the normal continuity (maybe one of the horrors from the deeps of Tartarus that did not escaped in S2E20); or is the end result of Startlight Glimmer achieving success in her Master Plan involving cutiemarkless princesses a few years earlier [no sun/moon cycle].

  12. The Element of Resilience. I think Applejack should weild it, since she has passed through many terrible things (and her psyque survived relatively well, considering only stubborness and overprotection are her worst quirks). For reference: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_resilience
  13. A "moon" in Equestria is probably the time it takes for the ~silver celestial object raised at night~ to rotate on itself once [this is also exactly the same time it takes for The Moon to translate around Earth and rotate over itself]. The reason it takes 30 "moons" for the Portal to reconect by itself to Equestria, is probably because of some of alignment (with the "star" that got eclipsed at the end of the first Equestria Girls Movie); is required based on "Synodic Months"; instead of "Siderean Days" or "Solar Years". The "reunion" of Apple family relatives of the Pilot [s1E01] was just for the local members living in the nearby zones of Ponyville, taking the oportunity to participate in a very special event for the town (Princess Celestia raising the Sun there instead of Canterlot); one that may be the first in their lives (or maybe the only one, since there are many cities in Equestria based on the "Princess Spike" episode [s5E10]).

  15. My "longterm plan" requires wood processing on a massive scale (to travel the seas, you need both a healthy and loyal crew, plus lots of wood to make a big enough boat); having someone with your resources will be usefull to start the project. [Totally offtopic] If you like horror series set in Manhattan; I will recommend you the first season of "The Strain" (2014).
  16. I live in South America. No empires or proper "civilization" in 1015 (nor anything that could be reporpoused into one for a few centuries). If I managed to survive and prosper in my first decade in the past; I will have to develop in the second a trans-oceanic ship able to cross to Africa [from there it will follow the west coastline towards the Mediterranean Sea]. My ultimate goal would be trying to reach the Middle East before becoming too old and frail to travel. I knew you had a "Mafia Lord" dark dream in the subconcious... but woodcarving? That took me by surprise.
  17. Keeping the sirens from knowing the Rainbooms have two experts in "magic counterspells" is just one part of the "cold war game" both teams play once they became aware of each others potential. The main script restriction in Rainbow Rocks (guiding the plot-a-plot chain resolution), is preventing any situation that could be resolved by "the sirens escaping to Equestria" (where they would cause even more damage than in C.H.S.); because otherwise it would feel like "a next level greater challenge" that was skipped by a lack of confidence from the heroines. From the "bookstory flashback", it is clear that Starswirl banished them without using the mirror (but instead some kind of "Rift" in space). As long as Adagio´s "scope for control and domination" is restricted in her mind only to their current world, her plans would not involve acquisition of the information regarding "a way to return" to Equestria; because she keeps thinking is not posible. The sirens knew for sure about the mane 7 having "some equestrian magic" in their bodies. But nothing else. Even if they theorized that Sunset Shimmer was "another monster from Equestria" banished to this world (because of the she-demon thing); they had no way to prove it, since equestrian magic can transform both normal humans and aliens.
  18. Since it is only for a week, it does not bring "secondary powers/abilities" but it carries all known drawbacks from the show... I will choose the Rarity+Radiance combo (is extremely OP if you think about it). The timetravel & transformation spells from Twilight are both temporary spells (the first works a few minutes, the second a few days tops); whatever she can do with magic for a while, Rarity+Radiance can do it better and forever (by using real world items). With the ability to locate gemstones (Rarity) and the low_level flying from the "floating carpet" projection (Radiance); one could find [or stole] and carry a fortune just in jewels; then using it to create awesome art; increasing their value (and monetary rewards) exponentially. Also, (if the "Dreamscape" episode of the mid-season 5 finale is of any indication), her sewing abilities are flexible enough to manipulate "the fabric of reality" itself...

  21. Fluttermind: The reason is the untaped potential for this kind of stories (much more if the setting is the near future of the current show). Horse. M.D.: [Appart from the Flufflepuff parody] Because I can foresee the equivalent of "lupus" being something like poison joke... The Conversion Bureau: Ascension If you can pull a good, interesting story in this setting without using mysantropy or "bastardization" on any side, it means you are a good writter.
  22. WRONG! Source: Transcript of S1E20 mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Transcripts/Green_Isn't_Your_Color Also, Rarity did not behaved like someone who had "worked in secret for Celestia" at the coldstart of "Sweet and Elite" [s2E09]; kissing her hooves just for a nice room in the Castle Tower.
  23. Actually, there is a good reason: TRADEMARK! "Colgate" is the name of a toothpaste; if they just dare to use it in a cartoon to promote the SALES OF A TOY, the ammount of money they will have to pay to the Palmolive Company holders (just from the legal fees alone); would be greater than the total animation budget for Season 5.
  24. For me it was the "first MLP animation ever": "Rescue at Midnight Castle" (1984) [G1 "22 minutes TV Special"]. I watched it in a local theather on Argentina (circa ~1988) in "latin american" spanish {dub not recommended}. - - - - Fast Forward to the April´s Fools of 2011 (20110401): New feed from the youtube channel "Sonic F" (abridged version series of "Sonic X"); but instead of a parody of the episode 5, it was the first part of the pilot MLP:FiM_S1E01 (Camaraderie Is Supernatural). I was already aware there was a "new pony series" going on; (tough I had not watched any clip); so I was happy with the overall good animation and colors. The "joke" with the Nightmare Moon foreshadowing (extreme zoom to the hourglass), the meta "never ever we will joke about Fluttershy"; the Mayor Mare presenting Celestia as an evil tyrant; plus the "to be continued" make me interested on watching the original two-parter episode [i did it next day after downloaded both episodes]. - - - - You got my curiosity. Could you give us a better context about how and why you watched it? I must be rather unique.
  25. I wonder... If you randomly selected a user who currently does not have a ponysona for an avatar (but any other mammal)... Would you "ponify it" or drawing it as its own species ? [i suppose any lizard-like would be redone as a dragon, and any bird-like as a gryphon].
