  1. Family/beloved ones are just another aspect to take in consideration. The "Death Note" reference give me an idea: What if you can select aditional people to go with you? You had only 40 seconds after "pushing the button" to write their names (while visualizing their faces). They will be instantaneously teleported/transformed like yourself; but without any choice or previous warning. - - - - If I had just a few moments to push the button (plus the 40 seconds); I will select no-one [neither family, friends or enemies]. Tough I may later wonder if I should have take iniciative for some bronies I think to know good enough; since no one ever give me such degree of trust over their own lives/future before, I would not take the risk of making a mortal enemy from a good friend.
  2. [The OP is not clear about the posibility of coming back]. I assume there is also a "clear warning" about being a one-way trip (either "forever" or just locked a very long time). If it was just "unknown"; then logic says returning should be posible (even if not practical, that is for one to risk); making the choice easier. - - - I would take the chance without taking anything with me (since I can not know how it would be "translated" to the other side). Maybe my watch or ring will become a "memmento" of my previous life [just because I do not care to taking it out before jumping]; since my clothes will probably vanish/merge as part of my fur, or get adapted to my new body. It would be less painfull for your family and friends to never ever know what happened to you. Yes, they will be in pain for years searching you, expecting to find your lifeless body (or worse, getting you back alive after a long captivity); but actually telling them you "choosed to go to another place they are unable to reach" is actually worse; because you are taking away their agency to do something about it (either to forget you by their own choice, or keep trying to find you). Unless you can leave proof of the imposibility of an eventual "return" from your part (something not even you could know); there is no point in "asking" someone to "not think about you" if they truly love you. If your sudden dissapearance should end in someone you care getting in jail for homicide (very unlikely); you must ask yourself if caring about their future (without you being there) is as important as your own future (without them to share it).
  3. Fair point. It is like comparing "fruit bats" with "Vampire Fruit Bats" ; totally unfair from my part... [sarcasm] Flutters only remarkable difference with Luna´s threshals was sentience. Her friends would have accepted her "new form" if she was still able to talk [and "behaved" in public places]; since it would not interfere at all with her job for the Ponyville comunity: caring controling animals (her destiny). - - - - I consider Diamond Dogs "reverse dragons". They work in groups using tools, (plus other creature´s abilities, like the "Dig Dogs" or Rarity), to locate deposits of gemstones; with the porpouse of either make themselves "good looking accesories"; or for profit (they prefer to give them up, rather than making their lives miserable/uncomfortable). A dragon uses only his/her own bodyparts, alone; to mindlessly accumulate gemstones in a single spot, inside a rocky place... for no other reason than general greed (or an ocasional "party" consisting in just eating them). If someone perturbates this status quo, they will hurt themselves in battle (or get ridiculed trying), instead of sharing or giving them away.
  4. We always suspected unicorns were just equine elves. (An umbra is just a dark/shadow/night pony elf) Pegasi are angels (batponies being a "fallen" version, like how it happened to Flutters). Breezies are pixies, with seaponies as the sirens/tritons. Next thing is getting a better comfirmation of earth ponies as dwarves [some hint already with the Pie family... we need an episode showing the crystal ponies mining the source material for the Empire´s buildings].
  5. I like the "gaze" of your current avatar. The color and tone of the hoody is the same of the "Dragon" status [congratulations for 1000+ comments!]

Thanks! I thought the same thing. Though I am one to randomly change avvy's, I may keep this one for a while longer than usual because it matches the dragon status so well.

You can always use your signature for minor stuff.

  6. The question is flawed. For starters, is not Luna, but Nightmare Moon. Secondly; she is not "on" (as, over) the Moon; she was banished "in" (as, part of it) the Moon. Specifically, she was fosilized [Discord´s style], then pushed/teleported to the Moon, then broken in millon of pieces; and finally dispersed trough the surface as black regolith. She was not able to move or "live" in the Moon on any form; tough she must have being aware (like Discord) for 1000 years, as she had to perceive the stars aligment "helping her" to break free of the spell.
  7. I think there is a problem here between: A ) The kind of political ideology we could infer from their (known) accumulative experiences and [suppositions] we had about the way of life and culture [based on their origins]. B ) The actual stance they will took towards an specific problem [more based on the particular interpretation of the current writter for plot reasons]. I thinked about this the second time I watched "Princess Twilight Sparkle - Part 2" [s4E02]; in the scene were Rarity took a "prompt" political choice against Discord (with Rainbow Dash and Applejack joining with their elements with her). Sadly, Twilight & Pinkie Pie were not even in the background in that scene (I would like to see their faces in those moments before Fluttershy wisely perform a "SCRAM" in the process before things were going nuclear). Trough season 4 there have being other ocasions were important things were discussed, but always were more calm, delay-able situations; never with the heights so high [since trough the Tirek event, the more relevant choices were always outside the sphere of influence of the remaining five]. In season 5 there was some "ideology retcons" for both Twilight and Fluttershy: Tthe former probably for meta-plot reasons [concerning future episodes involving Starlight Glimmer]; and the latter seems to be a case of "sucking up" what her bio says about her in the S1 "Bible of the Show" (her initial refuse to go against the town´s people) by taking account of her "baby steps" lessons as an integral part of the mechanism for her choices. I must watch again "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone" [s508] to reevaluate Pinkie Pie & Rainbow Dash; to see if they are not the same characters (re-defined by Amy Keating Rogers in this episode), with whatever she and Lauren Faust pre-programmed in stone before S1. In general, "Party Pooped" [s5E11] SHOULD give us a good example of the particular viewpoints of the mane six regarding foreing relationships (but I think this episode was thinked as a comedy, flander-izing some traits of the characters instead of taking them seriously).
  8. Happy Birthday to US! =D

  9. Those similarities are just an accidental clash between two "creatively disconected" writers. "Sunset Shimmer's Time to Shine" [by Perdita Finn] is the original source behind the "experimental_based" labcoat_Sunset. "Rainbow Rocks" (movie) & "Friendship Games" [mostly by Meghan McCarthy] is were "analyst_based" labcoat_Twilight will get her own "time to shine" as the local conspiracy_cracknut. Something similar happened at the end of Rainbow Rocks with Sunset Shimmer becoming a fulltime "rocker" (from nowhere, as there was zero previous indication of such talents in EG1), just to properly "fill" the missing slot of the different "kinds" of students (explained by Fluttershy in EG1 at the cafetería); since Rainbow Dash is still technically an "athlete" no matter how good she may be with a guitar [same thing with "Fashonista" Rarity as singer]. - - - - One thing that was bothering me was the current "lack of porpouse" of Sunset to stay at C.H.S. (since she already "pay" for both the material and psycological damage she caused in the last three years). She ventured into a new world to seek knowledge of new kinds of magic (her "hunger" for power, control and domination came sometime later after her first "coronation"). Whatever she could have discovered about the "low quality" Earthling_magic (probably the same thing the Dazzlings feed on regulary) was already done and exhausted after years of study/experimentation (otherwise she would not have stolen magic from Equestria). Those new magic interactions from the Wonder Five (and their "Instruments of Harmony") with music, is probably just the same Equestrian_magic recycled over and over [maybe slowly regenerated by their mutual friendship day after day, stored inside their bodies instead of crystals].
  10. Everybody forgets the credits song of EG1 "A Friend for Life", sung by Jerrica Santos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaPZhvdTlJk Link: youtu.be/oaPZhvdTlJk - - - I think the background music would be much more important in "Friendship Games" than the scores themselves; since the movie now has a different tone than Rainbow Rocks (I think it would be a proper "adventure" this time; instead of a "Slice of Life" with amulet_enhanced power_hungry [Trixie-esque] schoolgirl villains). - - - - - - - [offtopic] If you want to know why they could not "beat" Starlight Glimmer without their cutiemarks, read my previous post again (the one you quoted); check the last part of the "spoiler" section this time (with my headcannon/fanfic understandings about it).
  11. There will be decent music in the "Friendship Games" movie (EG3); the same way it was for "Trough the Mirror" (EG1). - - - - - The Elements of Harmony had some critical flaws: the items can be used against their owners [s4E02]; locked away from their wearers [s2E01]; or stolen and repurposed [EG1]. This kind of problems were based on their "materiality" (the power is contained inside a portable object); once they were relinquised to its source (the Tree of Harmony), it developed an alternative method to ensure its proper future use:

  13. Sorry to pop your bubble, but the new "exclusive shorts" are NOT a prequel to EG3. The script for EG3 was made from a request from HASBRO in early 2014 (they decided the toys and the setting, then the writters do what they can with it). This new shorts are based on the fourth book of Equestria Girls: "Sunset Shimmer´s Time to Shine" (a sequel to the novelization of Rainbow Rocks); witch was published around the same time HASBRO was thinking the toyline for 2015. In other words, we are watching another post-credits extra scenes deleted from Rainbow Rocks (like the Encore Songs). The use of instruments and music as a powersource for the "pony up" is now as obsolete as the missing "Crown & Element of Magic" [it will just not work again the same way if they try to weaponize it]. How the new games would be mixed with magic... I have no idea (it is better that way!).
  14. World-Building: [s5E01] Coldstart scene: Recap of the S4 finalle, plus a fricking Map of Equestria IN 3D! Also, both parents of Pinkie Pie are alive and still living in the rock farm (not just her father, as shown in S3E05). [s5E01] Travel to "Our Little Village" (the song is called "Our Town", is not the name of the place); located in a desertic valley between mountains. [s5E02] The mountains at the east of Equestria had a complex system of internal caverns (like Moria in the Misty Mountains of The Lord of the Rings). [s5E03] Technically speaking is world-rebuilding: The remains of the Treehouse Library is removed from the ground (hence the place does not exist anymore; [not even the "underground lab"]). The Crystal-Tree-Castle starts its slow transformation into an "organic place" by getting the style and personal touch of the ponies in each of its rooms. [s5E04] Babs Seed job career, the (probable) existence of "pest ponies" and the "job rotation replacement" for specific jobs being strongly influenced on the presumed talents of a cutiemark. [s5E05] Cloudsdale moves trough Equestria (already implied in S2E22). Winter set up is mostly handled by the pegasi after the running of the leaves is done by the earth ponies (not a single unicorn in it this year). [s5E06] Appleoosa was either "moved", or there was a massive "terraforming" going on in the second year of the town (only comparable to the pegasi "winter sky" set up & wrap up). [s5E07] The "chaos dimension" is either just another place of (outer) Equestria, or there is a fixed portal going into it accesible by land (much like the "Breezie Falls" or the "Gates of Tartarus" being the only known access points to those planes/places). Also, there is a "puppet dimension" only Discord can/knows_how_to access. [s5E08] Griffonstone is part of Equestria. Is located to the east of Manehattan, beyond a great body of water (it explains the concept of "Half of Equestria" being the logic delimitation for the maximum range of a non-sentient natural threat in S4E01). [s5E09] Internal world-building. [s5E10] The number of "important/relevant" towns/cities in Equestria is now greater than the total combined evidence (and sugestions/headcannons) from all previous episodes and official comics. [s5E11] There is life in "The Frozen North" (old map of Equestria); and it has their own kind of population and culture. [s5E12] Internal world-building (Canterlot Edition) [s5E13] The Rainbow Power can be summoned "on demand" and remotely by the mane six. It has the same functionality of the old Elements of Harmony (or at least Luna considers this to be true). - - - - - - - About the "Theme" of the season: There is one focussed idea [Cutiemarks & Destiny] for the "key episode" of S5; and there is the standard "filler" plus the mid-season finalle (witch has zero correlation with anything, just look at Tank!)]. The same happened in S4, were the underground concept [Rainbow Conection] had the properly named "key episodes" to be developed, plus lots of unrelated adventures and irrelevant slice of life situations (most of them clear "red herrings" in retrospective) for the season finalle.
  15. /)6_9(\ Your post make me dizzy. - - - - - - - Now (mostly) the same, but in a more legible format: Disclaimer: Certain non-artistic licences were taken with the text structure (to make it more read-able); with a better "flowing" of the ideas trough placement and stacking (without changing their content). Also added some references.
  16. Flight: Earth Ponies can perform "parabolic flight" by jumping while extending one foreleg (superman style). Helmet!Applejack [s2E03] (Rainnuke scene) ; Helmet!MaudPie [s4E18] (rock_slide scene) (Except Pinkie Pie) They would not be able to decelerate while in midflight; but their higher density makes them "juggernauts" in the air, with no decrease in speed by air friction (lithobraking by its nature is always dangerous, needing extra protection to perform it safely). With some simple torsion_resistant elements coupled to their "helicopter contraptions" (to store some extra anciliary kinetic energy for ocasional resting), they can fly just fine with the force of their back legs: Pinkie Pie [s1E05] (Gilda´s "buzz off" scene) ; Cherry Berry [s4E21] (rewind#1 scene) - - - - Magic: Earth Ponies can cast spells (with the aid of other instruments/devices); it requires a vocal component (implied to happen at a mental level in unicorns), and minor non-verbal movements: Pinkie Pie & the Mirror Pool (riming spell and correct positioning) [s3E03] (multiple self-cloning scenes) AppleBloom & Alchemy Set (precise commands [wording] and carefull previous preparation) [s4E15] (plant mutation) Also, Pinkie Pie seems to be able to read "advanced unicorn spells" (in whatever language they used centuries ago), and interpret its workings by herself [s2E20] (Starswirl´s Library, "Tuesday Doomsday" morning scene); something strange for a "rock farmer" to have learned, unless it is common knowledge for all three races.
  17. So, they will end the series pulling a "KorraSami" but with xenophilians instead of lesbians... Considering they have to "keep up their hand" with Nickelodeon on edgy social progressivism, seems legit.
  18. There is enough information (from the transcripts of all episodes of MLP:FiM) about Pinkie Pie´s Birthday to bring it down to only two posible dates (I do not remember right now when they were placed in a conventional 12 months, 365 days year).
  19. Nope. Is part of the normal mechanisms present on the mind of all primates, it provides the (healthy and necesary) self-self interactions [with guaranteed absence of violence or judgement]; not going deeper than a "invisible imaginary friend" in adult monkeys or young children. But, the most evolved part of the human brain (were conciousness about "yourself" being the same person shown in the image reflected on a mirror), is what allows for a more complex development of those "independent mind constructs". Called "that little voice of conscience" (usually depicted in cartoons as a white winged angel over the right shoulder, and/or a red horned homunculus at the left); is as normal as talking to oneself without expecting anything to ever answer (but they will always do; just not trough the part of the brain processing soundwaves or readed text into spoken words). For people with mental problems, the creation of imaginary friends (and their more engaging, "visible" versions: Tulpae), may develop a syndrome that looks similar to the "Multiple Personality Disorder" [but it is not that condition, as a Tulpa can never "take control" of the person, nor could "hide" any memories of actions done with the body]. For a normal, emotional balanced person; is a powerfull tool for meditation or self reflection; since your ego has no access to "how" the mental processes of the Tulpa actually form and resolve, but only what he/she allows you to know about their feelings or opinions. If the Tulpa is not forced on its "inception" to have any particular traits, it does not take any especific "form" or defined personality (tough if mantained for a long enough time, it usually develops a complementary/antagonist form of the main "Myers Briggs" personality profile of the person who creates it). The Tulpa has the same sensory input that the person (since it is inside the brain, receiving the same signals from the spine, eyes, nose and ears); but they can process it diferently, taking notice of things that the Ego does not. If he/she considers important for mutual survival, future enjoyment or pain prevention; it may force you to get "more aware" of your sorroundings (typical sensation of being observed, like an "arachnid sense").
  20. She has a file [s5E11] of everypony (and not just ponies, but all kinds of citizens [s2E18]) of Ponyville. Based on how relaxed Spike was with Pinkie´s "dark room interrogation" in S1E25 (not to mention how effective Gummy performed as her lizard assistant); she probably does this regulary to "obtain information". (She admitted to be "a pony with a [party] problem" [s2E24]). If she was some kind of a "master mind" mafia criminal [after the godmother "Maretrona Rarity", of course]; instead of the "dumb crazy psycho" everypony suspects; then she could get all the money she needs to buy gunpowder for her partycannon (and other resources for her parties), basically by "negation of fun" or trough revelation of secrets; as she takes promises and memories very seriously, (on every season, she has an episode making that clear: [s1E20], [s2E14], [s3E07], [s4E12], [s5E11]).
  21. My headcannon for the reaction of Celestia, is that she experienced exactly the same thing that Shining Armor was feeling right there in her distant past. Being in deep love of someone accused to be evil by your own little sister... all those feelings she wanted to forget, those "old wounds" her protegee now unknowingly reopens... I wonder who could have being? (foreshadowing for an ~unused backstory~ of somepony on the next season premiere?) - - - - - For the complete disregard of Pinkie Pie after Cheese does his "official presentation" to the town; I blame it in part to the "herd mentality"; but also to the ... [cof]... Did you notice that all of those background (and main) characters following him out of the town square (more likely a few carring and the rest "pursuing" the new handsome stallion in town) were only mares? There were some stallions watching the show, but only "the girls" keeped their "totally undivided attention" to him. Each time I watch that scene, (from the moment Pinkie "sings" her sad question to them, to her "half-deflate-mane") I mentally add "big pink hearts" in their eyes (like the "wanted, need spell" of lesson zero [s2E03]); to make it less painfull to watch.
  22. Slowly look to the side, focusing my view into some irrelevant spot in the walls or floor (still keeping my attention on the "cat" with the peripherical vision of one of my eyes). I strech my legs, one by one to relax myself; as I know feline creatures do not like tense strangers looking them directly to the eyes (like a deadly stare contest, the one who blinks first gets biten). I wonder if I should pretend to walk in zig zag trough the room, getting closer and farther to it in each "step", showing that I am not particulary perturbed by its presence (hence, that I consider it not a threat to myself); in the hopes that some empathy will be shown, before we start a more formal "presentation".
  23. Luna: "The lessons they have learned in their dreams taught them well, they have proven to be ready". [bronies]: Ready? Ready for what? [cue the ♪ Luna´s Cover of "Celestia´s Balad" ♫ ] C.M.C. = Cutie Mark Counselors They already performed this role (without noticing) in "Appleoosa's Most Wanted" [s5E06]; each one having a different role in giving a good advice and rousing someone who already got their cutiemark (but had lost hope on both his future/destiny, and the porpouse he had in life). - - - - - WHAT are the cutie marks they will obtain is ultimately something non-relevant; as they will be like the wings of Twilight (representing not a mere "permanent change in their bodies", but a more profound "growing up" beyond their previous "innocence").
  24. I am happy to found not one, but two other bronies who also watched and liked G1 & G3 for the things they have done right (story and art style, respectively). We are considered "OLD people" here on mlpforums! xD
