Hi We would like to submit our work-in-progress project: A Heroes of Might and Magic 3 ponification mod: "Ponies of Might and Magic 3" Here, you can see our youtube trailer: http://youtu.be/j3DubVhp0PE We are looking for people willing to contribute to this project. We especially need animators and artists. Without the help of the community, we won't be able to finish this on ourselves. Here is our description of this mod in form of a simple Q&A: Why we are modding Heroes of Might and Magic 3? For many reasons. Firstly, HOMM3 is still a very popular game with great gameplay. Secondly, it's fairly easy to mod, because its 2D graphics, and the game mechanics allows to add modifications with ease. Thirdly, the game doesn't need a high-end PC to run it - it can be even played on smartphones. Where does the action take place? What is the plot? The action of the story takes place between the second and third season of the show. Discord managed to break free once again but this time he decided to wreak havoc in an insidious way. He stole the Elements of Harmony and used them against their purpose, casting a spell designed to spread discontent and disharmony. He didn't realised that the spell he casted will be so powerful, that in result he will lose control of the spell and become a pawn in the upcoming game. The spell caused quarrels and strifes between Equestria's inhabitants. Old animosities and prejudices have returned - the unicorns were treated with fear and distrust because of their magic. Pegasi became to be seen as uncivilised and bearish ruffians, while earth ponies as a cheap workforce and second-category citizens. Meanwhile in Canterlot, Luna permanently drove a wedge between her and Celestia. She left Canterlot with her supporters for the Castle of the Two Sisters which supposed to be the beginning of her new realm. The situation deteriorated even more when the Crystal Empire broke diplomatic ties with the rest of Equestria. Cadence who is the Crystal Empire's ruler demanded Equestria's throne for herself. Two invasion armies approached Equestria's doorsteps - Discord's and Changelings' which have taken the opportunity to try to conquer Equestria. What features will be in the mod? Most importantly, there will be 9 playable factions, you can lead: - Earth Confederation - federal state of the Earth Ponies, ruled by Chancellor Applejack - Unicornia - the kingdom of the Unicorns, with Rarity as a formal ruler but Twilight Sparkle being the gray eminence who holds true power in the realm. - Pegasopolis - a militaristic state led by Supreme Commander Rainbow Dash - Solar Empire – remnants of the old Equestria with loyalists gathered around Princess (now Empress) Celestia - New Lunar Republic - a republic founded by Princess Luna supporters, who exercises power in the state. - Everfree Forest – a commune founded by Fluttershy in purpose of protecting the creatures of Equestria from the cruelties of war - Crystal Empire - an Equestria's neighbour whose ruler Cadence decided to take the throne which at the moment belongs to Princess Celestia - Changelings' Kingdom - a parasitic state led by Queen Chrysalis. Its purpose is to conquer Equestria and devour its inhabitants. - Discord's Realm - force led by Discord, who strives to achieve his ultimate goal - bring Chaos to the entire world. Every faction will have its own unique buildings, units and heroes with their stories. Each of the factions will have castles which everyone knows from the show (when you watch the trailer, you can see Canterlot Castle on the map) Original Heroes of Might and Magic 3 artifacts will be replaced by both: items from the show and completely new ones, designed specially for the mod. The descriptions of the artifacts will explain the mod's lore to the player. This mod will also feature completely new soundtrack which sample you could hear while watching the trailer. We also plan to add a new single player campaign with maps and appropriate events. What is currently finished? - Ideas for new buildings for each of the castles - Ideas for every faction's units (for example: Discord's army will have parasprites, windigos and other chaos sowing units, while Unicorns will have enchanters, dragons, gatling unicorns etc.) - Heroes along with their descriptions and history are also designed - Artifacts with their descriptions are designed and ready to be drawn - Part of the artifacts is already drawn (you could see them in the trailer) - Soundtrack is almost finished - Small part of units is drawn - Part of the heroes portraits is done of which some are already implemented in the game - Very small part of animation is done (for example Party Cannon animation is almost finished) Who do we need in our team? We need talented artists, graphics and animators who will help us to speed this project up and make possible to finish it. We badly need someone who could be able to draw castle screens: buildings and their animations. We're also looking for people willing to help us with drawing units, and artifacts.
