  1. My idea of feminism is that a woman can be or do whatever suits her. If she wants to engage in a more traditional societal role, that's as valid as being a CEO of a munitions manufacturer. It isn't about kicking women out of old roles, but in saying that women aren't bound by them.

Men should be afforded the same freedom by society in fulfilling roles that suit the individual without being ostracized for being "girly" which is nonsensical as an insult in that women are strong on their own. Carrying a child is a pretty crazy thing to do if you think about it. Birth itself is an ordeal worthy of a medal.

I ramble though. In summation, let people do what they want so long as it isn't hurting themselves or others.

  2. I'm working on developing one at the moment, but while I get it right I decided just to put a big cloak over it until I'm ready to share, thus my avatar. I'm terrible with color pairing, but I think I might have come across something that works.

I'm not in a big rush, but I am slightly intrigued with rp right now.

  3. Shipping isn't immoral. I agree with what was previously said about the lesson being about it being okay to be single and not meddling in others' love lives in real life. I don't think that disregarding character personalities is necessarily bad morals just bad writing. These are fictional characters at the end of the day after all.

As to desire to see them in the show, I doubt we see any more romantic relationships than we already have. If this show was aimed at a teenage demographic maybe, but not this age group.

  4. I think this fandom is fortunate in that its core principles tend to be able to withstand haters and keep their own opinion. I mean, if we put so much stock in other people's thoughts about the show we love, we wouldn't be the vibrant community that we are regarding our favorite candy colored equines. Just because they bring up points, invalid or no, doesn't mean I have to change my opinion.

  5. They aren't full deities because they can be defeated as we see in Canterlot Wedding, but they are at the very least incredibly long lived and very powerful. Perhaps they are something akin to a demigod. I do believe that they have control of their various aspects and I believe that because of that Equestria is in no need of an army, just a royal guard.

Celestia and Luna hold the ultimate deterrents in that manipulating the sun and the moon they could wreak havoc over any opposing nations homeland. Luna could cause huge tidal waves at a thought and without Celestia's sun crops would fail. There might be a darker side to this utopia...

  6. Whereas the first three seasons were built up to explore and develop the mane 6, and season 4 was about sharing and teaching what they had learned to one other pony, I believe that season 5 will be about bringing all the development to bear to handle situations as a group. Instead of students of their elements, they will be masters of them and use that mastery to help others.

Don't expect slice of life to disappear as it will give us much needed relief from some possibly heavier episodes.

Do expect travel and the use of that travel to expand our knowledge of the poniverse by visiting places we haven't been before.

  7. I doubt Chryssi will be involved, but I could see a little foal in their future given the merchandising and the stories that are available from it.

The stories would need to be well thought out in order not to retread the lessons learned in babycakes, but it could be a sweet story.Perhaps we'd see the bags under the eyes of the newly minted parents to contrast the cuteness from a bouncing baby. Perhaps it would be twins as well for an additional Pinkie tie in.

Maybe Twilight is visiting (for once the world isn't coming to an end). She tries to spend time with her BBBFF, but he's very busy with the foal. It could be a lesson in feeling abandoned because your sibling has a child, but that they still love Twily very much.

  8. My favorite pony is Applejack.

Some may deride her as a background pony, but I think she is a very necessary cog in this friendship machine. She's level headed for the most part and plays Only Sane Mare to a lot of the crazy that goes on. She provides a contrast against the more extreme personality quirks of the mane 6. Sure she's a bit prideful and stubborn from time to time, but I identify with those flaws.

I honestly believe and many share my opinion that she is the most stable of the six.(Oh, goodness a pun)

  9. @DexterousWings, Welcome to MLP Forums.

I just ran across one of your posts in Show Discussion and I have to say you come off as very insightful. I hope you decide to stick around for a bit here.

You're too kind. I actually have been toying around with analysis videos on my youtube channel, but they aren't very good. I don't really have a solid OC to use, so I just threw a big black cloak over my pony instead.

  10. Diamond Tiara is the less sympathetic "villain"

Both seem to suffer from a need for attention, It may stem from a lack of attention as a foal or some other void they are trying to fill with attention.

Trixie tries to fill that void with power and spectacle or at least the illusion of it. She really wants to transcend the mask and be powerful. She I believe can be reformed at this stage, hence her Great and Apologetic Trixie at the end of Magic Duel. She may be turning it around.

Diamond Tiara has the same problem in a way, but she deals with it through bullying others. Trixie bests the other ponies only when they have directly challenged her, though after she has provoked them. Diamond Tiara does it with no provocation whatsoever. I don't really count magic duel against Trixie, because the amulet had a profound effect on her already insecure and outwardly egotistical nature. I think the greatest agent for change with Diamond Tiara is Silver Spoon. If she decides to stand up to her a bit it may unseat some of her precariously built outward egotistical persona. It also may allow for her to make a change and become a better pony.

  11. Welcome to the forums my friend! :) I hope you enjoy being here and have lots of fun :)

Thank you. I greatly appreciate it.

It is as it's easily one of the friendlier forums I've been onto. You'll certainly make friends here  :D

I certainly hope you're right. Perhaps this could be a new roost for me. This board is a bit different in that you must quopte somebody in order to reply to them, though I suppose you could just remove the quote.

  12. I suggest that some agent (natural or otherwise) has caused them to have equal cutiemarks. This could be a natural occuring magic force or a deal with the devil in order to resolve some conflict. They'll likely be perfectly content with the situation because they forgot the talent they used to have. Nobody fights, but nobody really lives up to their potential.

Something will happen to reverse this effect, and the mane six will have to help them overcome the jealousy they may have held before and accept the differences that once tossed them apart.

Bonus points if the agent that gave them equality is also the one that boiled in the strife and is feeding off their missed potential.

  13. Haven't been into any MLP forums yet, but I am looking at migrating my message board activity to a new site from the site I had been on because it has grown a bit ghostie. Hopefully this community is just as nice as I expect it to be.
