  1. I'll have to go against the consensus here and say Twilight. She went from being a shut-in who avoided everyone to the leader of possibly the most influential group in Equestria, and of course, now she's an alicorn. I can't help but think that her rise as a great power of goodness (?) would leave her happy. She's living the ultimate life, per se, but not just because she is powerful, but because she has grown into the ultimate figure of benevolence towards the people of Equestria, and that's really something to be happy about. Unless Celestia turns out to be an evil dictator, of course.
  2. Ehh. I like going to karaoke, but I usually get pretty nervous. At home with just family members around I have no problem with it. I tend to be louder then...
  3. ...Someone or somepony would have to die.
  4. I remember watching one where they went to a bad neighborhood and took people's phones out of their hands as a "prank". They got shocked when the victims reacted by attacking them and taking their phones back, but what the hell do you expect when you take someone's expensive device with all of their personal information on it? I do enjoy watching impractical jokers, though that's a TV show and not a YouTube channel. They usually pull funny pranks on people like asking them weird questions or putting on fake seminars with ridiculous contents in front of an unsuspecting audience.
  5. I just replaced the stock fan today as well, it took like 3 hours because I had to practically disassemble and reassemble the whole PC to install it, but it was worth it IMO. Now it's running the Prime 95 "Small FFTs" torture test at under 60 degrees c.
  6. Oh my god, it actually works... The CPU runs in the mid 80's though while playing C:S, so I'm going to upgrade the cooler ASAP. Here it is in all its glory: Edit: goddammit I downloaded a virus
  7. Usually around 12-46 oz a day. In other words, too much.
  8. I don't know much about They Might be Giants, but I do know that Triangle Man is kind of a dick...
  9. My bro works for a junk removal company (San Francisco Bay Area) and he finds valuable things all the time when hauling the stuff into the junk truck. A month or so ago he found a brand new, $200 backpack and he's brought home several rather nice bikes. He doesn't usually work in particularly "rich" areas either. We're probably going to start selling the stuff on Craigslist soon as a little side business at this rate. And in case anyone didn't know, the Gtx 950 came out. http://www.anandtech.com/show/9547/nvidia-launches-geforce-gtx-950-gm206-the-lesser-for-159
  10. My brother came home with another thrown out PC again, and this one looks better than the one that I've been using, the one he brought home a few months ago. It has a GTX 275 which certainly isn't the worst thing ever, but the real score here is the processor-some sort of first-generation i7, as that's what the motherboard in it supports. Throw in a new mid-range GPU and overclock the processor and this thing will be solid. Unfortunately it doesn't have any ram in it, so I'll have to order it online, and hopefully I don't receive the ram just to find out the CPU or motherboard is busted. Still, great find. Also, relating to the above conversation, the gtx 970 can be found for as low as 310 dollars new, sometimes less. And the r9 290 is ~$260 new and bites at the 970's heels. Both of those GPUs will max out any game no problem.
  11. Pretty much anything by modest mouse, radioead, pink floyd, or led zeppelin Other notable songs Into The Mystic - Van Morrison Soul to Squeeze - Red Hot Chili Peppers Wet Sand - Red Hot Chili Peppers Mr. Tambourine Man - Bob Dylan Some Styx songs (my guilty pleasure band) Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley (don't judge me) a bunch of others I forgot
  12. Not really worth it, imho: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1068?vs=1056 290s are going for around $200 used right now, which is an absolute steal. If I can find a killer deal on a used 290x (200-210) then I'll probably go with that though
  13. Tell me about it. It will all change soon enough, for in a few months I will hopefully be buying an R9 290 or something similar.
  14. I loaded up Cities Skylines on my desktop, and it actually works! This is so exciting, I can finally play the game I've been craving for months. It actually runs pretty decently... If you consider 15-30 FPS with a 50k city to be tolerable, which I do considering I've been stuck on integrated graphics all my life.
  15. Is it sad that a 9 year old desktop found in a junkyard is currently providing the best gaming at home that I have ever experienced?
  16. Out of the ones I've seen, probably Rainbow Falls. It squanders what could have been a good premise with poor writing and a forced plot. Putting Your Hoof Down may not be my least favorite, but it's probably the episode I'm most conflicted about. On one hand it shows what can happen when you let all of your feelings build up, which could be disastrous in real life as well... But it really does take it to an extreme. It could have been much better, in my opinion, if Fluttershy wasn't quite such an asshole to everyone. And not to mention everyone in the whole town is being an ass as well; was it opposite day or something? That just screams "we did it because it was convenient to the plot". Again, it's not my least favorite episode, and I wouldn't say I hate it or even dislike it, but it's probably the one that gives me the most negative feelings. It's not all bad, but some elements of it sure are.
  17. Pink Floyd meets... metal? Never did I expect such a thing to be so enjoyable. Perhaps I should explore the Metal genre more. 9/10
  18. yeah Is there any particular reason the forum banner is gta themed or is it just because?
  19. So my brother works for Got Junk and he often brings home interesting things that people are throwing out. Today he brought home a giant desktop. I had to reset the CMOS to get the system running, but now it's working. Specs: Core 2 Duo 6700 @2.66 GHz Asus P5LD2 Motherboard 2GB DDR2 RAM 9800 GTX GPU Thermaltake Toughpower 700w PSU 320GB WD Harddrive Some thing below the GPU--possibly a sound card? Thermaltake Tsunami Case So yeah... Not that impressive as it is, but it provides a decent base to build off of. The PSU should work well with anything single GPU I throw at it, the hard drive should be keepable and the case looks pretty unique, is built solid and appears to have decent airflow. I was hoping to throw a Core 2 Quad and a decent GPU into it and call it a day and use the same motherboard, but unfortunately the motherboard only supports 4GB of DDR2 RAM, so it'll have to go. But with a cheap/used quad core, a cheap/used motherboard, a used HD 7950 (they go for 100-120 on ebay) and 8GB DDR3 RAM this thing should be a formidable gaming machine for under $300.
  20. Info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/3bxduw/why_was_riama_along_with_a_number_of_other_large/ It looks like at this moment, some of the protesting subreddits are back up.

    movies/tv Inside Out (Pixar)

Wow... That movie was exceptional. It's one of the first I wouldn't mind seeing again and again, all on the same day. There's so much substance to it and one watch just doesn't seem like it was enough to let everything soak everything in.
  22. I'll break boundaries and become famous for writing fanfiction... Without ever writing clop. It will be a truly unprecedented achievement.
  23. I was helping someone come up with a cheap but powerful PC build when this guy came in. Can't tell if trolling or just really stupid.
