  1. I'd like it, if only because I like Garfield and I really don't care about Capper. I think the Mane Six would be in a lot of trouble, because I don't see Garfield going out of his way to help them so they'd have to deal with the discount Mos Eisley freaks themselves. I'd also be interested in seeing his interactions with Rarity most of all, since Garfield is pretty much the opposite of generous, not to mention his manners would probably disgust her. It would probably be an interesting conversation.
  2. Mainly writing, Youtube, gaming, fencing, or going to the gym. I suppose at some point I should also be working but I can be on the forums while I work, so eh.
  3. Fair enough, but that still doesn't mean I liked it much. It was just a very disappointing reveal to me, so I don't really agree it was a great mystery story. I would've liked it much more if it had actually been another student, who had then come forward out of guilt at seeing the student six get into a fight over it, and prompting Twilight and Dash to apologize for their wrongful accusations. But hey, to each their own.
  4. To me, their suspicion came out of left field a bit. Sure, out of the student six Gallus was the most likely suspect, but I really didn't suspect any of them at all. I actually thought they would be going with a setup plot that would lead Twilight and Dash to erroneously conclude that one of the student six did it, only for it to be someone else altogether. That may have been expecting a bit too much from an MLP episode, I guess.
  5. I honestly found her evidence rather flimsy other than 'the culprit went in here and the other door is locked'. In a world where magic is a ubiquitous as Equestria, a locked door wouldn't really prove much to me. Also keeping students from going home over the holidays for something only of them has done (without even knowing if the others knew anything about it at all, for that matter) doesn't sit well with me, but then I've always hated the 'punish the group for one person's misdeeds' approach and found it to be idiotic even in the real world.
  6. All I can say about this episode, really, is 'what the hell is going on with Twilight lately?' She immediately concluded that one of the student six had caused the mess, and then she went the basic elementary school route of punishing everyone for one's mistakes (and when she said that I really wasn't even certain any of them had done it to begin with). I liked the Hearth's Warming's tales of all the students, which saved this episode, but other than that I really didn't like the way the situation was handled.
  7. December. My mom died in December, my grandpa died in December, my cat died in December, my girlfriend's great-grandma died in December...it's really not the best month. Aside from that, I hate Christmas and that's also in December. It can fuck right off, really.
  8. I figured I might as well plug another one of my fanfics here. This one is my first attempt at a slice of life story, and is the first one not written with any shipping in mind. I'm curious as to what you all think about it. The story can be found at FimFiction here: https://www.fimfiction.net/story/407156/the-summer-sendoff At FF net here: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12910250/1/The-Summer-Sendoff At Archive Of Our Own here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/14380809/chapters/33204864
  9. I liked this episode, mostly because I think Spike and Starlight work very well together and because Starlight has really become one of my favorite characters. I like how her violent solution was the wrong one, and most of all, that she realized the correct one by herself, showing that, while she still likes to rely on raw power, she is learning a lot from her friendship lessons. That said, it's certainly not a flawless episode. Sure, Discord is a spirit of chaos, but he gets off the hook for screwing everyone over far too easily. I had the same problem with Pinkie being incredibly inconsiderate in the previous episode. I really wouldn't mind if the show decided to call them out on such behavior, because it wouldn't get in the way of the solutions to the problems at all.
  10. I hope not. Shorts focusing on such things are rarely ever good because everything becomes far too patronizing far too quickly. I don't like longer subplots about it either. I mean, Buffy the Vampire Slayer used magic addiction instead of drug addiction, and those episodes weren't exactly strong IMO. MLP being aimed at a younger audience than Buffy, they have to be even less subtle about it and I just can't see that going well. Peer pressure, well, they could probably do it but the Humane Seven don't seem all that likely to indulge in it, and using a different character to showcase it...I'm not convinced it would turn out well.
  11. Since I've recently posted the eight chapter of the fic, I figured I might as well resurrect this thread to shamelessly promote myself. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
  12. Rainbow Dash probably would be able to deal with it, at least. Honestly, I don't know, but liking violent games doesn't automatically make a person violent and I'd like to think that they're all smart enough to see the distinction, unlike a lot of people in the real world. It's a good way to vent frustrations. Better to kill virtual people/ponies than real ones, right?
  13. I'm not sure, but I don't think I would. I kind of like the idealistic nature of this show and while it could sometimes go a bit farther (think Gravity Falls or Star vs the Forces of Evil) I really don't think a show purely for adults would work. I think it would lose a lot of the charm it has now. That said, there are some really funny M rated fanfics out there, so who knows?
  14. None, I've never really had a reason to post one. Although I may have posted one when I graduated from college, not sure.
  15. Just say you liked it and that's why you got it. Who needs an excuse to have a plushie?
  16. Must've been tough. You have my sympathies. As for myself, gave an unpopular opinion in the (now locked) unpopular opinion thread.
  17. I don't usually bother, and especially since the advent of achievements I haven't tried anymore, since a lot of them are multiplayer based and I don't play multiplayer. There are exactly five games I've ever beaten 100%, three of them without a walkthrough: - Burnout 3 - Pokemon Silver - Hydro Thunder - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (walkthrough) - Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (walkthrough)
  18. Business talk. It's always filled with entirely useless buzzwords and I don't give a flying fuck about any of it. Aside from that, anything concerning celebrities. I don't care what they do in their lives. I don't know them and what they get up to is entirely their business.
  19. I have far too many plushies to pick a favorite. I've got 13 around my desk alone, and a whole bunch more in the closet. If I really have to choose, though, it's probably a panda plushie I've had since I was two. It's lost both its arms and its head before and the ears and arms are kind of chewed up, but it means the world to me even now. It's not actually one of the 13 on my desk or above it though. Another good contestant is probably one I take with me to tournaments as a mascot, and which may or may not have its own Twitter account.
  20. Oh, so much. I love games like GTA or Saint's Row and just taking out a machine gun in a busy square and shoot everyone. Or just driving through town, waiting for someone to cut me off or something, so that I can then blockade their car and Desert Eagle them in the face a few times and then set their car on fire. And, of course, I mow down every motorcyclist I come across just to see them flying through the air. It actually pissed me off that in Just Cause 3, they don't die from being run off their bikes by a dude in a tank. Speaking of Just Cause 3, nothing is more fun than 'liberating' a settlement by commandeering a gunship and carpet bombing the entire village several times over. For more sophisticated slaughter I turn to games like Skyrim, where many NPCs have more-or-less personalities. I then kill them in gruesome ways, resurrect their corpses, and head to the next town over to have my zombie army lay waste to the innocents there. I also may or may not have turned Dragonsreach into a museum of dead children once, by stuffing them all into display cases. And, of course, there's Prototype, where I'd disguise myself as a civilian and then go on a rampage through town with various horrific superpowers. It's just so cathartic.
  21. I like the episode, especially the humor in it, but I would've expected them to at least ask Pinkie to be a bit more considerate when playing the yovidaphone. I mean, playing it at midnight, during an activity which requires immense concentration, or outright destroying somepony's livelihood with it, all really aren't very friendly things to do. Plus, I think it would be a stronger lesson than just supporting your friends in whatever they do. 'Do what makes you happy, but be mindful of others' or something.

    general Social Pressure

To prevent being a victim of social pressure, just do whatever you feel is right, basically. I usually can't be bothered to debate things so I'll just say whatever someone wants to hear, and then proceed in my own way regardless. When I'm feeling confrontational, though, if everyone says 'yes', I'll say 'no' and from that point on ignore everyone. If it turns out I'm right, I'll shrug. If I'm wrong, I'll shrug and admit to being wrong. Very little matters enough to me that I feel the need to convince others to see things my way. Conversely, I'm fine if others try to convince me of their right, because it'll give me a new perspective on the subject so I can make a more informed choice. Social pressure, to me, hasn't ever really been a problem. I've never been popular and I've never cared to be. During one mock test at scouting, everyone in the group chose one answer while I chose another. Everyone thought it was funny that I alone was 'wrong' (good-natured, these people were all really nice and I don't want to seem like I'm badmouthing them here). Then the leader smirked and said that I was the only one who was right, so I got to call them idiots for a night. I'm fairly certain I've been on the other side too, though, being the only one choosing something else and being wrong, but I can't recall any specific examples of it. Ultimately, people have to do what they think is right. Don't bother trying to get everyone around to your way of thinking, even if you believe it to be better. Just stick to what you feel you should do.
  23. Black Mirror. I'd heard a lot of good things about it so my girlfriend and I gave it a shot, and it turned out to be an incredibly anvilicious show constantly fellating itself with how clever it thinks it is. I honestly don't know why so many people seem to like it. Literally the one moment I liked was a short bit from the end of the second episode or so, where a guy who'd threatened to off himself on live television and who had been given his own show signed off on an episode of it by threatening to kill himself...and then smiling and saying, 'Have a good night.' Aside from that...nothing.
