Oliver looked away and flinched when Jenna snapped her jaw on the deer. He soon followed her back, and although her scales helped to hide most of the blood, he still blanched at the gory sight.

"I'll, uh, just wait until you're finished," he muttered.

"It feels like we don't really have many options," Oliver sighed. "Whoever sent us that message could have at least given us some supplies or something. At least some food and water if we were going to be here for a while."

Oliver looked at the beam as well, not liking the feeling he was getting from it.

"Unless there's a way we can get out before we destroy it?" he suggested. "Maybe if we can find a time bomb or something."

Oliver was relieved that a large deer had gotten caught in the trap, though he felt sorry for it. It was about to be eaten after all. Though, it was for a good cause at least. He didn't agree with hunting for sport.

Still, he turned around and waited for Jenna to do her business.

Oliver saw some deer approach, seeing they were close to the trap. He needed a way to attract them without scaring them off.

He started making soft quiet noises, hoping to bring them closer to the trap.

Oliver saw the look in Jenna's eyes and swallowed. He could tell she meant what she was saying, and he knew he couldn't leave her to deal with this alone.

"And I'm gonna help you with this," he promised. "I just wish I knew what to do."

Oliver knew a little about making traps thanks to certain video games and shows, so he went to make a snare trap to catch something as big as a deer. He gathered vines, branches and other such things from nearby and hoped one would pass by. He set it up in such a position so Jenna could easily snatch it up if it got caught.

"But we hardly found out anything," Oliver pointed out, frowning. "We learned this world is... well, dead, but that's it. We don't know why or how to close these portals. Nothing makes any sense around here..."

Oliver frowned and started thinking. He didn't like the idea of killing an animal, even if it was to feed Jenna. He wondered if he could put a trap together near Jenna and she could do the grisly part herself.

"That's what I keep saying," Oliver groaned, shaking his head. "I hate it here. We might be the only ones around here that are actually alive, and we're only here because some message told us to. And it didn't even tell us why."

"Well that's... better, I guess," Oliver muttered, not liking the idea of dying at all, no matter what way it happened.

He looked around for any signs of animals. "Maybe wherever the people went, the animals went with them?"

"No, just stay there and rest," Oliver insisted, returning the glare. Jenna could likely tell he was serious. "I'll find you something, I promise."

He started walking off and looking for something big enough for a dragon to eat. Hopefully one such thing would be close.

"If you keep moving around like that, you'll take even longer to recover," Oliver pointed out. "I'll try and find something for you. You just focus on resting and getting better as quickly as possible."

Oliver's eyes widened at that idea. "Running out of oxygen? And we have no way of getting back?"

He swallowed. "Maybe that's why it's so empty here. No one can live here so they all...went somewhere else."

Oliver nodded. Jenna hadn't eaten much all day, so some food would certainly help her heal.

"Then I'll find you something," he said, looking around. "I'm not really a hunter, but there has to be something around here."

Oliver frowned when he heard Jenna say that. The idea that nothing living was anywhere around them made his skin crawl.

"All I can smell is stale," he muttered. "I don't know if that's a good thing or not."

"Yeah, you're right," Oliver muttered. Despite that, he kept looking around in case something was watching them from afar. He also kept his nose twitching for any peculiar scents, but so far all he could smell was dirt and concrete.

Oliver watched Jenna make a shelter for him, frowning because the last thing he wanted was for her to exert herself.

"I can make a shelter, the problem was leaving you alone for too long," he pointed out. "Thanks, but you didn't need to do that. You need to rest."
