  1. Just so you know @alicorn1, I have moved your thread to the Request Guild section and have added the 'Request Shop' tag to your title, as it would be more appropriate there. Best of luck with your requests and take care!
  2. I have been considering making up some drawing tutorials, not only for others to use but to give myself more practice. Rather curious if anyone would be interested in them.

Way to go, Sky! Looking forward to them! ^^

  3. I am not a particularly huge fan of anthropomorphized ponies, but I will say that this is rather cute and well done. I must also give you extra praise for the way each character is done here, as their personalities are captured very well simply through their expressions, body language and, to a less extent, their attire. The only thing that throws me off a bit is the plaid pattern on the skirts, as if does flatten the image since it does not wrap around the characters, but that is rather minor. I do hope to see more from you soon, so keep up the good work! Take care!
  4. Just so you are aware @Rainboweagle17, I have merged your thread with this existing one as they both cover the same topic. In the future, please be sure to utilize the search function to see if your idea for a thread already exists before creating a new one; tends to help keep the forums nice and organized Take care!
  5. Seeing as Dr. Wolf's channel is now back up and running, it would seem that this thread has run its course for discussion and will now be locked. Considering that another primary focus of conversation has been fanbase-created content and copyright laws, anyone still interested in discussing these topics may find both of these threads to your liking: http://mlpforums.com/topic/49035-what-do-you-think-about-copyrighttrademark-laws/?hl=copyright http://mlpforums.com/topic/92051-future-of-fan-works-copyright-and-hasbro-discussion/?hl=copyright
  6. Hello @Ryzu! Just so you are aware, I have moved your thread the to Creative Resources section, as you seem to be asking for helping in the drawing process and I believe your thread might receive more reception here. As far as drawing anime, I suppose that depends on what sort of style you are looking to attempt since there are a plethora of anime that vary drastically in the visuals department. My first question would be what type of anime do you enjoy watching (this would also include manga as well)? Depending on what you like, I would take a closer look at how everything is presented in those shows and see what works and simply practice from there. But the most important thing is to just practice and to have fun with it, for that is the only way to improve.
  7. Just so you know @AppleCrackers, I have merged your thread with this existing one as both seem to cover the same type of discussion. In the future, please be sure to use the search function to see if your idea for a thread already exists before creating a new one. This helps to not only keep the thread neat and organized, but also avoids and potential confusion that multiple threads can cause. And on that note, Celestia's Ballad in the Season 3 finale was one of those moments that was very moving to me. This scene not only showed us how Twilight has indeed grown and developed throughout her journey, but this also displayed how valuable and powerful her friendship is with the rest of the Mane 6, for she would have never reached such heights without them.
  8. I have also been working rather hard to improve my human drawings as well, and it is not an easy task to go through with. Why is that drawing ponies is so much easier? In any case, I doubt that there would be much to dissuade Spike from spending more time with Rarity and I would love to see a follow up to this. I can actually see something like this as a mini-comic or something of that nature. The picture itself is rather well done and I do like the designs you gave for both Rarity and Spike, with Rarity's hairstyle being especially cute to me. Though I am rather curious as to why you feel Rarity looks older than you wanted her to be as I feel she looks rather young as is. The expressions are also nicely done and depict the scene rather well, with Spike slightly taken aback and surprised (which is very believable and adds that much more the the drawing). However, there are a couple areas that I would just keep watch on in the future. Just watch your proportions, as the both of Rarity's arms are not equal in length with Rarity's right (our left) upper arm being shorter than the left and vice versa for the lower arm. Also, the hand that is resting on Rarity's hip seems to be backwards with the thumb placement being on the wrong side of the hand. And this final bit is more of a possible nip-pick than a legitimate critique, but I cannot shake the feeling that Spike seems to be floating slightly in the picture. I believe that is due to both Rarity and Spike being on slightly different ground planes, with Rarity being lower and Spike being slightly higher. Overall, this is a fine example of your practice with human drawings. Human anatomy is not an easy subject to draw by any stretch but you seem to have your foundations in good order with just a few refinements needed here and there. Just watch your proportions and keep on practicing, because I hope to see more of your work soon. Keep up the good work and take care!
  9. Seven months? That is quite a while to go without drawing. Regardless, this is simply adorable and color choices you used for the eyes and hair work especially well (I just realized that the coloring is strikingly close to those of Scootaloo). And for some odd reason, I can see this working rather well as a cute button or something like that. I do hope to see more of your work in the future, but I am glad that you shared this one with us. Keep up the lovely work and take care!
  10. Hello @Derpy_Muffin_Hooves! Just so you are aware, Octavia's Hall is a designated area for members to share their own artistic endeavors so that they may gain thoughts and input from others. Though such a topic like this would feel right at home in Sugarcube Corner, the way that you have your opening post makes this feel more appropriate as a status update rather than a thread, as the discussion potential is rather low as is. With this in mind, this thread will now be locked. However, feel free to create a new thread if you wish to spark up a conversation about this subject but I would suggest adding a bit more detail into your opening posts (what you like/dislike about this person's work, show examples of said work, etc.) so that you have a better chance of drumming up a more in-depth conversation as well as letting others chime in with their thoughts. Take care!
  11. This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.
  12. Hello! Just so you are aware, there is already a thread for discussing this article as well as any other Season Four spoilers that may be floating around. With that in mind, this thread will now be locked, but feel free to join in on the discussion here. Now, if you will excuse me, I will take my leave before my curiosity gets the better of me. Take care!
  13. Just so you know , I have merged yoour thread with this one as they seem to deal with the same subject. In the future, please be sure to utilize the search function to see if your idea for a thread already exists before creating a new one. Not only does this keep the forums a little more neat and organized, but it also avoids any confusion that multiple threads can cause. Thank you! As for a favorite animal, mine would have to be a peregrine falcon. Not only are they beautiful birds, in my opinion, but they are also exceptionally skilled hunters and agile flyers.
  14. This thread may be of interest to you and should help answer any questions that you may have.
  15. Just so you are aware @applejock, I have merged your thread with previous thread that already covers this line of discussion. In the future, please be sure to use the search function to see if your idea for a thread already exists before creating a new one. With that being said, let us try to keep any further discussion here calm and levelheaded while not devolving it into a string of agruments. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and whether one enjoys such in-depth analysis or simply wishes to enjoy the show is their own personal preference. But if someone feels that they cannot express their opinions without it turning into some sort of shouting match, it may be best just to simply say nothing or reevaluate how you wish to state your thoughts, for this will often end in unncessary drama that everyone seems to wish to avoid. You do not have to agree with everyone, but try to give everyone the respect they deserve. Thank you and take care.
  16. 'Sketchy drawings' seems to be my specialty, so no issue there. I will try to get something up as soon as I can.
  17. This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.
  18. I could certainly give it a try. Is there anything specific that your friend would like to see (pose, expression, etc.) or just something simple? Also, would she also prefer to have something closer to the show's style?
  19. The subject of this topic has little potential to spark discussion between many members and, as such, would be better suited to a status update or a blog. When creating a thread, please remember that the goal is to start a conversation with room for many people to chime in and give their own viewpoints on, and that sharing events of an anecdotal nature would be better done elsewhere. If you truly do feel this way, perhaps a thread in the 'Life Advice' section would be of more help, as there are always members there that are more than happy to help and support you in any way possible. I do wish you the best, and take care.
  20. I will agree that the tower is a little lopsided and this is a prime example as to why you use proper guidelines. I also figured out as to why Twilight's posterior looked wrong and I have fixed it since then (turns out I did not account for the tilt in the hips and thus it looked incorrect). If nothing else, I can take immense satisfaction that I am always learning from each drawing I post. And no, this was not inspired by anything in particular or, at least, not to my knowledge. I considered this merely practice for a couple projects that I am hoping to start on. As always, thank you most sincerely Silverwisp! Thank you kindly! I actually did have a request shop some time ago, but due to a few issues, I have to suspend it indefinitely. Perhaps I will have to reopen it at some point. Wow, thank you so much SFyr! Though I feel I do not fully deserve of such kind words and praise, I sincerely do appreciate them and wish I could think of more to say to show my gratitude than a simply 'thank you.' The two thing that I have been practicing more of are gesture drawings to help with the flow of not only characters but compositions as well, and expressions/emotions. I am just glad to see that those efforts are showing forth through my drawings. The one thing I do love about drawing is that there is always something new to learn, whether you are just beginning or a professional. Though I do indeed have a long way to go toward accomplishing my goals, I can at least take some solace that there are those who do enjoy my work and for joining my on this little artistic journey; certainly makes the trip a lot more fun and meaningful and wish I could offer everyone more than just a thank you and a brohoof on here, for every comment does mean a lot to me. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot to show this time around, so have a simple Rarity sketch while you wait for something a bit more...substantial. Enjoy and, as always, feel free to let me know what you think!
  21. I just realized that I have never commented in your art thread, not even once! Well, I will have to remedy this grave error of mine posthaste! I can understand the feeling of not getting much work done recently, but what you have thus far is quite nice and it is always a delight to see more of your work. The two battling griffins with the action poses being nicely done. The only thing that seems amiss is part of the background (primarily on the left side), as it is more in the foreground it seems and may look more natural with a bolder outline as you used for the characters. Perhaps even experiment a little with different line densities to really make everything pop. The Spike sketches are also a treat and I feel the front view of his head is done especially well. For some reason, perhaps the drastic foreshortening involved, but I cannot draw a front shot to save my life. My only suggestion would pertain to the one where you have Spike lying down, as the body seems slightly too short when compared to the length of the neck. Hopefully all of this did not come off as unnecessary nitpicking, but do keep up the good work and I hope to see more soon!
  22. Hello @Chaos Storm! Just so you are aware, I have moved your thread to the 'Site Questions and Tech Support' section, as it involves a question directly about forum functions. As far as brohooves, yes, it is essentially a way for members to show that they indeed liked certain posts that other members have made; kind of like a virtual thumbs up and just a way of showing that you liked a post without having to make a post yourself. I hope this thread has answered your question fully, so feel free to brohoof as you see fit. Enjoy the forums and take care!
  23. Just so you know, I have moved your thread to the Creative Resources section since you seem to be asking for help in naming your character as opposed to sharing any artwork of yours. Perhaps I am missing something, but I cannot seem to be able to see your OC, so I have no idea what it looks like. Also, pony names seem to closely resemble their special skills and/or personality, as well as species. A description of your character may be helpful in trying to find a more fitting name, but that is merely a suggestion. However, you already seem to have a decent pool of names to choose from, so hopefully one of them will be to your liking. Naming is not me forte either, but here are a few off the top of my head that would allow you to keep your 'L' nickname: Lavender Skies Little Lightstreak Little Dipper Little Lattice Anyway, best of luck and take care!
  24. This thread appears to be some manner of random (but strangely enjoyable) nonsense, or something spammy of the sort. Thus, it has been sentenced to the Forum Lounge section of Cloudsdale Colosseum.
  25. Just so you are aware, I have moved your thread to Sugarcube Corner since the Fan Fiction section is designed to post your own literary works for other members to read and provide insight on. As for the fan fiction you are describing, the premise does sound familiar but I cannot place a title on it. If you do not get the answer from this thread, there is also a 'Favorite and Recommended Fan Fiction' thread that may have the story that you are seeking. I do wish you the best of luck with your search though and take care!
