  1. Alright, so:

    • Jokes good
    • Songs great
    • Pacing fast :sealed:
    • Characters work well together
    • Setting is cool (tho it seems like the places from the g4 world just completely disappeared)
    • Animation top notch
    • Moral okay
    • Jokes terrific, the 2017 movie's jokes were awkward in comparison
    • Voice acting dope
    • Ending kind of weird (she's an alicorn? what?)

I think it was a great start to the new gen, but I do want more questions answered. It's cool how they had the intro with the g4 characters, but...what happened to them and their families I guess? Do they have any living descendants? And how did it go from Twilight being ruler to queen Haven?

I also liked that there wasn't much of a villain. It seemed like Sprout was it at the end, but clearly he wasn't the main source of conflict in the movie. I found his incredibly big ego funny though :ButtercupLaugh:

Took me a bit to gather this is probably in the future after some disastrous event between now and gen 4. I really hope they reference back to the old gen, they have to. Hopefully some story about how one of the mane 6 screwed up and caused the separation of the races. The show looks really really good, animations smooth as butter. Looks more like a movie to me but it's a series, kinda makes you think how ridiculously high the budget for this must have been. I wonder what lengths artists will go to now, if this new style will motivate some to adopt this higher detailed art style. Still get to look forward to all the 2D fan art. Hope they still keep all the hidden cameos and "adult jokes" they would reference in gen 4, Hasbro has to know we're the majority of people watching this show.

But yea, definitely excited to get back into this, came into gen 4 when I was 14, now I'm 22, haven't been heavily into mlp since the last couple seasons, watching the trailer and getting excited for gen 5 kinda brought back a small spark of joy I used to have which is nice. Interested to see where this ride goes.

Ay wassup dude? I haven't seen you in forever.

Yeah the trailer excites me a lot too. Honestly I don't think the animation could be any better. My only concern is whether they stick to the same principles that G4 did - is it going to have moral lessons like G4, or is it just going to kind go off in its own weird direction and become like any other animated show?

EFNW is only a week away! :pinkie: Anypony who's going know what events you'll be attending?

I'm going! Um, probably most of the main hall events? I might hang out in the tabletop room too. I would love to meet up with someone from here

  4. I don't do it. But the anti-smoking campaigns are unhelpful, and there are worse things you can do. I have sympathy for those who do because they probably have stressful lives and need relief where they can get it. I would be open to trying weed, though.

  5. I would go straight to a financial consultant and learn how to manage the money. Many lottery winners have spent all that they won and gone broke, and that temptation will be too great if I don't know what I'm doing. I'd probably save at least half of it. I don't really want to think about that responsibility, tbh.

I would lawyer up to keep people from pestering me for handouts. I'd get protection for my home in case people camp outside it waiting for me to come out (this is a reality of some lottery winners).

Winning the lottery honestly sounds like it would be a nightmare if you don't get lucky.

  6. I'll meditate. If I can remember to. I'll pace back and forth a lot to understand what's bothering me, and if that doesn't work I'll listen to upbeat music.

Sometimes I just let anxiety run its course because it's sometimes completely irrational and will go away eventually. I tend to have more of these moments in public because I fear I'll get jumped or something, so changing my environment can help.

  7. It's unfortunate that EqG puttered out instead of going out with a bang. I'm not really sure where Hasbro decided to go after Legend of Everfree. That being said, I liked these shorts - they were far more entertaining than the 2 minute ones, which I couldn't bring myself to finish. The snowball fight and school heist ones are gold. Even though it's the end, I'm glad it went on as long as it did, and that the EgG team produced such great content over the 6 years they worked on this.

  8. I'm pretty agnostic, but I tend to believe that consciousness is a fundamental constant of the universe, like energy, which cannot be created nor destroyed. This would mean that it has no starting or stopping point, and thus the concepts of 'birth' or 'death' are invalid. This doesn't mean, however, that one's identity or memories, or even "soul" is kept intact, just that the consciousness of what was once you is now observing a completely separate reality.

I have complex views. Let's just say that :mlp_smug:
