  1. I made one ages ago but it has drug content from Breaking Bad, so yeah, also a suicide joke using a segment from Breaking Bad.

    Details:

I guess it was dry sorta humor a chunk of it. Idk.

I only took some scenes here and there and separated them from similar themes or associations. I had multiple intro segments in the intro for instance, same with the credits. I took scenes from the first episodes of several series, and used similar tropes. Like, Death Note and Breaking Bad had a police thing on tv, Bleach and Attack on Titan had the kid(s) arriving home. Bleach and Death Note had an ominous mysterious sorta segment near the start.

Then I put some funny bits together for the middle. After the closing I had a 'next time' segment, which is basically Kira laughing and saying the whole world is watching (only like 5 views of it were not mine, is the humor, that its not popular.) and Kira saying he is going to show the world, and such.

I have a few shitpost ideas for mlp/ppg (og)/Star vs the forces of evil.

But I only knew one technique for sony vegas 13, and otherwise just cutting n pasting clips from movie maker before. But Sony Vegas 13 is superior load times and smoother per frame editing and doesn't close with dozens of edits making it lag (I assume) etc.

    I don't know enough transitions.

I also wanted to make an MLG Starcraft 2 parody montage thing. Having stutter-stepping marines with the standard squeakers screaming and hitmarkers n GET NO SCOPED stuff lol.

Fam loves to interrupt me throughout the day tho, and insists I go to the gym near-daily.

Also, it is fun to make this stuff but it takes hours, and when I learned how to have a pic follow a face or such on sony vegas 13 prepping for undertale shitposts really, but that took me a while and I messed it up, almost had to go frame by frame in a transitional shot, which takes a bit of patience.

And I know this is nothing compared to what others can do but I just wanna mess around and post low tier stuff.

The problem is youtube loves to take stuff down, I had to upload it to dailymotion.

So idk if this hobby is worth doing, it'd be fun and stuff but whats the point, its not as chaotic as other ytps, its not going to be as popular.

But I guess if I produce stuff I can enjoy maybe others might enjoy it too, and ehh. Well I have 28 subs for next to nothing. Forget why I stopped doing it. Probably got interested in Fallout 3 and stuff, and read Fallout Equestria around then, or idk.

I am an adult, is this the best use of my time? lol

Anyways, movie maker is simpler and I wouldn't have to relearn it even if its a hassle, it'd probably be worth learning sony vegas 13 tho, but the more complicated works get the more time it will take anyways so it might not be worth it I guess.

Also I think I like simple associative transitions. Its not something others do as far as I know. Prolly gotta keep it shorter and less drawn out tho.

*sigh* but then if its short why would people wanna transition over to daily motion to watch it?

Granted its really only the anime companies usually that are harsh, well, from what i have seen, others do sometimes too so I think after my other vid was taken down I wouldnt wanna risk it anymore.

Oops kinda forgot the whole point of why I came here

    Ahem:

What kinda name do you think I should use, for those minimalist styled ytps? Maybe its not 'transformative' enough so maybe they would get taken down. Also I may wanna post trippy stuff, more than the humor ytps can be. Like, flashes of dozens of scenes with no explanation, for those ones, but for humor I would actually have it make more transitional sense.

But yeah, what kinda name would fit? Idk.

  2. High skill achievers who try perfecting their skill-oriented craft can more easily be down on themselves due to attempting to be the best and it requires such high standards. I think thats why Dash accepts the humiliation, also because its like Frats or Army initiation or something? A test of character or how much they can put up with, to prepare them for worse tensions later. I don't really know.

  3. I don't really have much experience on comedic exaggeration, since that's more like caricatures, I could try, but It'd be kind of experimental.

Don't worry about it, never know until you try and the first time is usually the hardest.

  4. I basically agree with Vulon I think its a publicity thing, just like when they censored(reduced or smoothed idk lol) Tracer's butt due to literally one complaint. A complaint they could've easily had their staff or someone else intentionally submit. Then it ended up on gaming news headlines, everyone heard about it.

Now OverWatch has more female gamers than alot of other games I hear. Idk if its related, but I also heard tumblr had more females, and that tumblr is kinda into identity politics stuffs. So it seems to be related, but its not definitive proof.

So, with such a large demographic, its in their best interests to do as much pandering as possible.

    Also partially related

Apparently its the sumowatch app or something he did the wrong one but, same idea really.

I think that people can be prone to confirmation bias, so enabling it, like the identity politics stuff, causes more people to get into the product. But also, if people are proud of themselves, they speak more(free advertising, like friendship lol), if disappointed in the game not ranking them up yet they complain about it more (free advertising). And studies have shown anger is more relevant to speaking up about something.

And don't want to be rude but sjws are motivated by anger. (heck skeptics can be too)

Also the psychology does say that aspies and autistic have a higher chance of getting angry.

Its just identity politics for profit.

Also, it inspired loyalty through relatability through just declaring she is autistic, but does she really have traits of autism from a psychological perspective? I have no idea. They could've just made it up recently, then make a video later to confirm it, idk.

It could be they had it in mind since inception due to marketing staff giving them the Tracer butt idea since inception, so it also could be intentional and she could be autistic, or it was just so successful they decided to branch out more for more money.

But theres also the chance I am using confirmation bias some. *going too meta now time to stop lol*

  5. When I tried before I could tell it was my imagination centers and had doubt.

But now I look at it like, it has to reach the prefrontal cortex from the imagination center.

Why the prefrontal cortex? Because that is what controls what makes you you, as opposed to you somebody else. It filters your behavior and such.

Prolly more to it than that(idk how to factor in the subconscious mind at a technical level, and thats a large factor too I think), but I googled psychology a bit before, thats pretty much the gist of how I see it.

So if I were to try and get tulpa, the next doubt scenario, I would probably take that as a sign of progress. Sorta like how reaching a new challenging area in a video-game, is evidence you made it through other areas to get there, which is something, and instead of focusing on how hard it is, focus on how to beat it. Or in this case, I would try a doubt-relief meditation thing perhaps with internalized synchronized chanting, tho that'd probably end up humorous. Or try a guessing game, or some other sort of games we could play, so theres a clear distinction between me and them, and doubt would impede the activity, so performing it would technically work.

Kind of like how tetris helps prevent ptsd, and distracts from ptsd, and also cig n food cravings.

Its like if you dwell on the negative, that gets stronger, and dwelling causes it to come up, so keep busy like that song 'when you're going through hell, keep on moving don't slow down'.

And they theorize why tetris may work is one of two reasons, the relevant reason being the mind doesn't have time to dwell essentially. Sort of like how boredom increases crime and drug usage.

I have to admit, I am having doubt. I know I should believe it's her, but it is very confusing, and I can't help but think I'm making it up. It just feels like that. I don't want to upset them by ignoring them if it is, but it is hard to tell.

And I know I responded late, but still felt like saying it.

  6. I like Jeric's thoughtful post.

Its like a bunch of pseudo-canon I suppose.

And that causes discussion amongst peers which adds more value to it than a cut n dry piece of work.

In a friendlier environment its healthier, but in a hostile environment or more nitpicky lets say, it can cause people to become disinterested.

The reason why Disney Star Wars probably kept canon organized is due to stylized differences already causing criticism, so even more problems with canon could alienate the first audience which is huge, or so nerds can nerd out with a consistent canon to bring solidarity.

I mean it could go either way, solidarity or discussion. But ultimately it may be due to the difference between science fiction and fantasy. Fantasy doesn't mind being unrealistic (magic (case and point(lol))) where sci-fi thrives on believability involving loose futuristic technologies, I mean they even have fictional vehicle parts for petes sake for hard-core fans perhaps those of engineering.

So I can see why they would require more consistency.

Actually some people had plot issues with FiM also, but considering how drastic styles can change based on author, it shouldn't come as a surprise when canon is less valued, also because younger target audience means less emphasis on realism which means more artistic freedom.

  7. Sugarcoat stands out the most all thanks to her being so blunt about everything around her.

She was a top 5 for characters I relate to on the show, maybe even was a top 3 lol.

*Doesn't mean I am significantly like them xD, also emphasis on was. I don't debate anymore xD.

  8. I saw that image posted earlier though I haven't really thought about it all that much. Sour Sweet, Sugarcoat, and Sunny Flare all made appearances in the Chapter Book "Twilight's Sparkly Sleepover Surprise" as antagonists who wanted to "help" Sci-Twi deal with the fact that she now had actual friends who weren't just Spike. If they come back along with Indigo Zap and Lemon Zest, they need to be given proper character development and not sporadic bits here and there.

Good, because I need more Sugarcoat.

Who else is gonna ramble long blunt statements without consideration for other's feelings? lol

  9. I mean let's face it, even if Flurry Heart wasn't born an alicorn, given that her parents are the prince and princess of the Crystal Empire, she was bound to be a princess anyway.

And plus the whole complaints about her being useless would still mostly be the same, given that she is only a baby, and thus there isn't much she reasonably could have done in the show.

Although an episode where Twilight and Pinkie Pie babysat Flurry Heart could have been nice.

Tbh she is probably a plot device.

  10. The comics have alluded to a certain powerful unicorn

Starswirled the Bearded decided to dump magic near some spooky tree and poof!

    Suddenly changelings

So spooky tree needed some magic to make Chrysalis?

    Spooky Tree is her father.

Actually maybe any stallion can give a brood to the queen, maybe the tree cursed a mare with the magic it got and made Chrysalis. And maybe she goes for the more loving stallions for a larger brood due to love/magic being required to give birth to a larger spawn. Perhaps because she would lose interest if they don't last long, because she can't get more love out of them so she has to move on lol.

  11. Actually they say everything post season 2 is bad.

So lets say what we liked about seasons 3-6.

Season 5 had a multiplayer dream episode that may have referenced Undertale.

    This happened in season 5

Alot of people actually like Starlight Glimmer, so thats not entirely negative.

Season 6 we got more Trixie.

Season 4 had Glass of Water song, it had Pinkie n AJ road trip song.

Season 5 had that Tree Hugger episode.

    Season 4 had Pinkie Pride.

    Season 4 had Maud Pie.

Season 5 had that Dash n Tank episode dealing with the 5 stages of loss.

Season 5 opening had that cult stuff, which was darker than their usual stuff, and was better in some ways, and worse in others, but overall it being a newer experience i think it was worth while. Then season 5 finale was pretty crazy too. Idky people dis on it. Breaking their personal headcanons maybe.

Season 6 Had that creepy Starlight Glimmer episode, granted this triggered alot of bronies her mind controlling the mane 6, I don't see whats so wrong, she got berated at the end, and it was funny.

Then also that Season 6 Hearths warming episode was good.

    So whats the problem anyways?

Discuss, and share good moments from those seasons. Don't share bad moments, because thats cherry picking and doesn't prove the whole season is irredeemable because of a couple bad parts, these good parts proves it has value, even if it has some bad.

  12. Season 7 might be the BEST season in the series, so it'll be worth the wait! :D Then again, it could also be the worst, we'll won't know till it comes! :3 Most of the writing staff this season are new, so it'll go either way!

Fresh blood means fresh ideas, can't say its boring even if its bad. Unless they think the show is meant to be slow paced for little girls, in which case prepare for boring lol.

maybe the title is actually "No title for this episode"?

That'd be existential and depressing, and the girls will be told they have to Buy Our ToysTM or the ponies can't make a new episode.

The parents will need to work overtime to afford enough toys for it. Then they die because they work too hard, and are too tired and accidentally crash due to micro-sleeps.

    Thousands of homeless children.

Where are the mane 6 when you need them? They are dead! You didn't Buy Our ToysTM. Off to the glue factory they go.

  13. Her character is paper thin. Her every third sentence is about something rock-related and her affection towards Pinkie is really the only thing I have to know that she even has emotions.

The irony is that I only don't like her because she's given me so little to like about her. I really don't think I have to look deeper, or that she's some enigma to be cracked. She's just a gimmick.

Just because we see less of her doesn't mean more of her doesn't exist. Her being stoic does mean alot of the processes are more introverted that we see the others express more. Even Fluttershy is expressive, albeit social anxiety before. That makes her easy to follow compared to maud. Some people are just quieter than others and have a one-track mind, but it doesn't mean their personality is one track also.

We see she is observant if out of touch. She notices she needs to protect her sister sometimes, which was a reused trope I will admit. Internally she is prolly thinking, why does pinkie do shit like this? *fixes problem* but she probably already knows the answer to that question. Also because she is expressively stunted you will have less evidence she has a personality anyways. So its a false assumption assuming she doesn't have one.

Like the Flower mares fainting over the rabbits trampling their flower patch, its just a gag, its not the epitome of who they are. Thats stereotyping.

Like Tree Hugger is a gag too. But she still has personality albeit a little different. She is making fun of stoners/hippies for sure, but do you see how she responds in an extreme situation, she has differing facial expressions, gets upset but doesn't want to be negative so doesn't express it well til she tells Discord she needs to clear her chakras first (stress relieve at least).

With Maud she has a different facial expression in that very episode, Discord makes a terrible joke and she gets offended. Probably because when Pinkie makes a joke she actually tries, instead of expecting others to laugh on demand. She isn't very social, so she might compare others to her sister alot, or perhaps thought her sister should be up there rather than this attention whore stooge.

Just because she doesn't say much doesn't mean she is a robot. Same for people irl.

Maud Pie's eccentricities are very much reminiscent of relatively strong and/or stereotypical cases of Asperger's syndrome, in many ways like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. In both cases, it's highly likely that it will never be named as such in the show, but it makes sense to use that diagnosis as a base for analyzing their personalities. On the other hand, the Pie sisters' upbringing may explain why the Pie sisters display such eccentric personality traits, including Marble's shyness and Limestone's inclination to making violent threats.

In both cases, it means that Maud can't help or control being socially maladjusted or "boring", it's just the way she is. She can change and overcome it, but it's a long process.

Pinkie and Maud can adjust, but it would be a long and tough process of character development. Probably too much for a standard MLP episode, and too long for the remainder of FiM's run. Though I like Maud, it's likely that by her next appearance more people will get sick of her.

Pinkie does a lot for Maud, but really has trouble gauging how others would react to her. It's nice and definitely the right thing to do, but she has a lot to learn. It generally ties into her main character flaw, which is her difficulties reading others' emotions.

Funny how rock farming causes psychological depravity. Why the heck do they do it anyways if it has such costs, tradition/culture? Poverty?
