Ah yes, Applebuck Season, definitely still one of my favorite episodes, and until "The Last Roundup" and "The Super-Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000" episodes in Season 2, it was my favorite AJ episode! Honestly, I think my favorite part of the episode is when AJ is helping (well, trying to help ) Rainbow Dash with her latest trick. The whole scene's hilarious, but I think we all know the truly best part of the scene:

    APPLEJACK FACE-PLANT!!!!!!!
I tell ya, I could watch this all day; it never gets old! Aside from that, this episode was very solid for being the first episode to focus on any other pony besides Twilight, and I'm happy that Applejack gets that distinction of being the first pony to star in an episode other than Twilight. Established some character traits of AJ's, had some great humor, and a solid lesson to boot; overall, "Applebuck Season" is just some good ol', classic, Season 1 MLP goodness.

Ah yes, this episode had this scene didn't it? Well forget what I said about it being good, this episode's great! Who would've thought that two simple words, "Mmmm, muffins" would have such an impact on this fandom?!?!

Not too much to say about this one. Again, I apologize everypony; my reviews don't get very in-depth until towards the end of Season 1, though they do steadily improve as the season goes on. This was the first episode where Celestia trolled Twilight and the gang!!!!! For that alone, it shall always hold a special place in my heart. More importantly, this episode shall also always hold a special place in my heart for another reason. It was the first episode of MLP that I showed my sister in the summer of 2012, who was the first person I told that I was a brony, and it started her on her path to become a proud pegasister who's quite fond of the show herself!!! At this time she's only watched up to "Sweet and Elite" in Season 2, and we don't get to watch it all that often anymore together with her busy at school and me busy with grad school applications and job searching, but it's still something we share together that's very special.

Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't note that this episode is important in that it establishes an overarching objective for the end of the season (i.e. the Grand Galloping Gala) that periodically gets brought up throughout the season. Nice early attempt from the writers to give the show a continuous storyline. Overall, this is a solid episode and a nice first regular episode to boot for the show.
