technology Looking for a Better Computer

@@A Blithering Div, Both of those are quite similar, but instead of using synthetic benchmarks... How about games? Do they perform the same? Is any one of them different by a major margin? Heck, 90% of the gaming community really cares about FPS rather then 3D rendering and such. The only time i'd really give any sort of care to any of those tests are when i'm using a program that's pretty much similar to the benchmarks. And in gaming, the FX 6100 gets between only 5-15 fps less then an Intel i7 3770k.- 72 replies

@@A Blithering Div, Like I said, still suitable, so that's pretty much the answer. Also you used the FX-4300, not the 8350. The 8350 vs a Phenom 955 and even the 965 just crushes the shit out of both processors in everything.- 72 replies

@@A Blithering Div, That's because Phenom II is just an amazing processor back in its day, and up till now :3 Also, single threaded performance is suitable, not shit. It may not be as fast as Intel, but it gets the job done in a good amount of time. Thankfully with their Kaveri cores, they're hoping to improve both single threaded and multi threaded performance by quite a lot, so we'll see how that turns out.- 72 replies

@@TorqueEffect, 80+ basically means the efficiency of a power supply is higher then 80%, meaning it saves money and provides your computer with a better source of power. My power supply is a Corsair CX600 Active PSU with 80+ Bronze, meaning I think it's around.. 80-84% rather then buying a non 80+ PSU which can run between 79% and below. 80+ Platinum is the best you can get, which runs well around the 95% efficiency mark.- 72 replies

@@TorqueEffect, Buy a $50 buck MSi or ASUS, it's worth a lot more. ASRock is still getting there like I said, their cheap boards though aren't so good. Also it's fine to be biased to Gigabyte, as long as you don't hit on other companies and such.

Yeah, if you get an air cooler then it would be so boss! You can probably hit 5Ghz with a nice water cooler, like the NZXT Kraken X60 or the Corsair Hydro H100i. And there are some few flaws pointed out in your comment on that one build. $137 for that Seasonic PSU is actually reasonable. It's 80+ Gold, made by Seasonic (( Good Brand )) and it's fully Modular. I've seen some at that price. Also 8GB of DDR3 1600 RAM is around 70-90 dollars right now, since something about a fire with something and now the prices have gone through the roof. Just wanted to point those out :3- 72 replies

@@TorqueEffect, That's quite a nice breeze then, upping it to 4 Ghz. If you're playing a game which uses 4 cores, then you have the other two as backup for whatever :3 That's how I look at AMD as, hence why I don't find 8 core processors useless.- 72 replies

@@TorqueEffect, ASRock has become a lot better now for being budget motherboards. Sure they might not last you as long (( Maybe a year or two less )), but they're definiately a lot better then before. My friend said they were used to be known like Biostar and Foxconn, not to mention they were built from cheap plastic.
-
Motherboards in general would be one to actually use brand loyalty to an extent. ASUS, MSi, and Gigabyte are all really good companies. ASRock is like, 95% there, and i'm actually gonna get one of their FM2/FM2+ Socket motherboards that is high end.

@, Sirius took a look back at Stephan, then gave a wide smile. "An, adventure with daddy..? I've always wanted to go on one with you, ever since you talked to me about them when we first met! Yes i'd love to go with you, I do!!" She practically squealed like the 9 year old girl she used to be and hugged him tighter.
-
@, Sirius heard her name and looked around a bit, till he met eyes with Stephan. Immediately her jaw dropped. "D-Daddy..?" She then ran over and gave her dad a big hug, almost on the verge of crying right there. "Daddy.. Where have you been..? Why did you leave me without saying anything..?" @, After giving a nice hug to him, she looked over to Rainbow, giving a smile. "And hey, best friend... Wow, both of you are here.."
-
@, Sirius was just sitting by the town square, watching everypony go along everywhere. Her kids were on her mind, and Switchback too, who was still at their house in Cloudsdale. He was sick from pony pox, and it was a bad case. "Mnn.. I hope Greenie is doing well with Switch.. Heck, I wonder how mom is doing."
-
@, "I understand Stephan, and it's your job to take care of your daughter." Moon hugged him and smiled. "Siri's in town. When you're ready, go ahead and look for her. I believe she's out in the middle, by the town square is. Hurry though, she might be gone and you don't even know it!"
-
@, Moon sighed, but looked to Stephan with a smile. "Sirius is excellent at magic, Stephan. She can easily defend for herself with you. And besides, do you know how long she's been wanting to go on an adventure with her father? It's practically driven her up a wall from how much she wants to.."
-
@, Moon gave a smile, bending down to come to eye level with Stephan. "Have you really forgotten about your daughter already~?" Sirius was in town, looking around a bit. She had trust in her four children going back up to Cloudsdale without any fault, and she had her husband to watch them as well. The pony just looked around, seeing if there was anything neat to do. "Hm.. Maybe I could go for some food? I don't know, heh.."
-
@, @, Moon was gonna head out with Starburst, but after hearing the conversation between him and Stephan... She suddenly became unsure of everything. It took her some time to process what was going on, and by then he was already gone. So instead, she followed behind Stephan. After watching the chat with Rainbow Dash, she walked over and smiled, giving a nudge. "Hey... I know you want to be alone and all, but.. I think I know one pony who's really into adventure, like you. Any time you go on one, you always need somepony to keep you backup, and I heard she was in town today."

@@Dark Fox That my dear friend, is a nice gaming rig. Team RAM is quite new, tell me how it works out for you okay? I was planning on seeing if I can get some cheaper then G-Skill or something like that. Heck I saw some DDR3 2400 8GB by Team for 62 bucks since it was on sale :3
-
@, @, Moon gave a nod, looking to Missy. "Are you... Fit to carry her Starburst? I know you must be devastated right now.." Auria cocked her head to Cloud. "That was Grandpa? Well whatever it is, lets go find him and check out what's happening. C'mon, we gotta go now Cloud!"

@, Heyo, so you're looking for a nice computer? :3 If you want, I can put together an AMD Build for you, it'll be around 800+ maybe and performs well. Games will run good, multitasking will be good too. Case is NZXT Phantom 410 ATX Mid Tower. It's sweet since it looks more, futuristic :3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146086 Processor is AMD FX-6300 6 core processor, clocked at 3.5 Ghz. It's a nice guy, runs well too! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286 Motherboard is by ASUS. It's an AM3+ Motherboard so it supports the processor, as well as being loaded with awesome stuff. Also supports dual channel RAM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131874 GPU is by ASUS as well. It is the Radeon R9 270x, 2GB edition, and it's a hunk of cooling. Also comes with Battlefield 4 :3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121802 RAM is Corsair Vengeance Series, 8GB of DDR3 1600 dual channel kit. And it matches with the Mobo color~ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345 Power Supply is a nice Corsair CX 750 watt PSU. Mind you some things are out of stock, but they restock just about all the time. It's a nice, reliable brand with 80+ Bronze. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139040 And HDD, is a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB Hard Drive at 7200RPM. It's like, the top competitor against Segate's Barracuda 1TB HDD. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W00ZD1577 And there you have it! 7 Parts to put together, making a nice machine. It comes up to $818 without sales I believe, so if there ever is sales plus rebates you can get it cheaper. Also note, if you're not from the US, then I don't think you can order from here :c Oh well :3- 72 replies

@@Sugar Cube, Ooh, Sis~ I think it took me 2 weeks, about an hour a day to complete very hard on chapter 5, where you had to get out of the damn power plant. Ugh, it was such a pain. I did it with max acceleration though, and I was even mind blown :3
-
@, Nah, i'm more along the lines of Amateur/Semi-Pro. I'm not that good, really Second course of the Ruby Cup, Casino Palace: Split Oval. I've gotten 43 seconds on it, but the record is like 32..?

@@Sugar Cube, Hi five bro, i've been looking for someone that loves GX Have you completed story mode on Very Hard yet? It really is difficult, but I did them all :3

@@ShadOBabe, Hehe, alright. Moon you're up, but don't go crazy over the girl. Remember, not everypony is like you. "I know, I just wanna hug!" *gives a hug to Fortune, and nuzzles through her hair for good luck* Hugs are so nice~"
-
I'm a fan of F-Zero in general. Good at the original, not that good at X, and an Amateur at GX. The games are really fun actually, I like it a lot :3 My favorite i'd have to say, would be.. Blood Falcon maybe. He's got a nice car, nice looks, and is quite the neat man. Heck i'm gonna play some F-Zero GX right now~

Holy Celestia (( guu :3 )) Fortune is just a cute little thing! Do you mind if I hug her~?
