  1. I recently decided to redesign and rename my OC, Millennium Shadow. New year, new me, right? :)
My OC's new name is: Nightfall Veilwing! :mlp_yeehaa:

I used AI to make the following images. Keep in mind that they're not 100% what I had in mind for the new design, but it'll give you the general idea. :adorkable:
One detail was that the wings were supposed to be a hybrid of dragon wings and traditional feathered wings (these), but I had trouble getting the AI to make the wings like that.

  2. Happy B-Day MLPForums! :ticking:

I've been here for 7 years, and I've made some good friends, such as @TheRockARooster. :squee:

I'm really, really grateful for the brony community; I have made more caring, loving friends in my 10 years of being in the brony community than I have prior to joining it.

Got PCs (my main gaming PC, my laptop, and my media center PC), but I do prefer MacOS now that I've learned how to use it, but now that Windows 11 is a lot better than Windows 10 for me, I don't really feel like I need to switch anymore.

Is it true that Windows 11 is/was terrible? I heard it was awful. :eww:

I don't plan on using Windows 11, but I did find a tutorial on how make make Windows 10 look like Windows 11. :P

And can Windows be used for creative works like Macs? :mlp_ooh:

  4. 2023 marks my 10th year of being a brony! :mlp_yeehaa: I became a brony in 2013. I was still in high school at the time.

I discovered FiM when some of my classmates were discussing it and drawing MLP stuff. Out of curiosity, I checked it the show out, and I really enjoyed it. I've been a brony ever since. My first episode was It's About Time (S2E20).

When did you become a brony? How did you discover FiM? What was your first episode?

    Because of mac fanboys. :ButtercupLaugh:

You can literally build a windows pc that is about as good as a mac and save money in the process.

Do you know if you can build a Windows PC that looks like an iMac, even down to the thinness of one? :mlp_ooh:

  6. 3 minutes ago, ProjectRKA said:

Mainly the price and hardware. And the fact that with most windows laptops (and desktops) you can repair and replace hardware. You can't do that with macs.

But when you ask what is ideal, it really comes down to your personal preference. Especially since windows and mac os are wildly different.

So, if it ultimately comes down to personal preference on whether you use a Mac or a Windows computer for creative works, then why are Macs labeld as "ideal" for creative works. :mlp_wat: I don't understand. :mlp_blink:

It's very good if windows does not work good with your system, or if you want to use a old laptop for simply streaming or something similar to that

What can you do with it? You can't run software made for Windows on it without some sort of software for compatibility, can you? :mlp_ooh:

For starters, saying "I did forgetting" isn't correct. You should've said "I did forget" or "I forgot". You also said "suspecious" instead of "suspicious" and "reallly" with three Ls.

But don't worry! English isn't my main language, either. My main language is actually Romanian, but I do know an English mistake when I see one.

I've noticed I sometimes type out something different from what I really meant to say. Ever had that happen to you? :P

You know what? Now that you brought it up, I love this theory! Though, there is no proof that this is actually true, it is definitely possible! Just like a theory I found online a while ago about how the butterfly effect actually works in the Season 5 finale, when Starlight Glimmer went back in time and stopped the rainboom (I can link to it if you want. You'll definitely love it.), or another theory where Starlight Glimmer is the one controlling Apple Bloom's dream in the episode Bloom and Gloom (I can also link to this one, if you want). The theory you made here about the Mane Six's plan of teaching Pinkie Pie's lesson is possible, not necessarily true, and I love it! 5 stars out of 5! ★★★★★

The only thing I have to add is that, no offense, but you still have to work a little bit on your English. I've noticed some grammar mistakes in your theory. English isn't your first language, is it?

But still, epic theory you've made there! Best I've ever seen!

Glad you like my theory. :D

And, yeah, please do link me to both theories you mentioned. :squee:

English is my first language, actually. Sorry about the grammatical errors. :adorkable:
    What were my mistakes?

I have other theories, if you'd like to hear. :mlp_pout:

Actually, my computer isn't very amazing, it's just a plain old Windows 7. However, I do know a lot of things about computers and technology! I've been using computers ever since I was very, very little, and now it rarely happens that there is a computer problem that I can't fix. It is my dream to have a computer-based career. So, I'm learning as much as I can until I grow up.

But I don't wanna brag about how good I am with computers. I don't like bragging. So, let's just move on!

You still use Windows 7?  Not judging you on that, mind you. :adorkable:

I use Windows 10, and I'm not going to use Windows 11 because I heard that it sucked. :yeahno:

I plan on buying some new computers, and the ones I want to buy use Windows 10. And these computers will be used for my dream career! :D

This makes sense, especially if we take into account the fact that Sweetie Belle has a very short horn, and she struggles with levitating a broom in the episode Twilight Time from Season 4. But in the episode Growing Up is Hard to Do from Season 9, Sweetie Belle is grown up, and her horn is longer. So, she can do a teleportation spell with no struggle!

Flurry Heart's horn is also unusually long, despite her being a baby, which might be why it's so easy for her to cast advanced spells by accident (like teleportation, magic beams, protection bubbles, etc.).

Unfortunately, there is one thing that breaks this theory: the baby Cakes! One of them is a pegasus, and because he is a baby, his wings are small, but somehow he can already fly with no struggle. The same goes for the other one. She is a unicorn with a short horn, and can somehow levitate all the toys and herself with it! Not to mention that spell she used to go through Pinkie Pie's play pen.

So, yeah, look how I found one little pony that breaks this whole theory!

Yeah, I did forgetting about Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake:adorkable:

Though, after you said that, I actually started thinking about it, and I've rewatched Baby Cakes, and I've noticed that Pumpkin's magic didn't start becoming a problem for Pinkie Pie until after she refused Twilight's offer to help her out. Also, Pumpkin's magic aura is a similar blue to Rarity's magic aura (Rarity's is #77CEF9 and Pumpkin's is #9FCADA) , and I thought, "What if the magic we saw Pumpkin do was actually Rarity's doing?" So, what if after Twilight had her offer to help Pinkie refused, she wanted to teach Pinkie a lesson? That lesson being: don't bite off more than you can chew. Twilight and Rarity saw how excited she was about Pound and Pumpkin in the opening scene, so what if the whole thing where Carrot Cake and Cup Cake having to leave in a rush, desperate for a foalsitter, and the rest of the Mane Six being preoccupied was all a set up? Rarity herself said that baby unicorns have magic surgers, so it was a good cover for her to do Pumpkin's magic without Pinkie getting suspecious.

Also, at the end of the episode where Carrot Cake said, "We had no idea how responsible you reallly are!" it didn't sound geuine. Rather, it sounded like he was saying that like he was instructed to say it. Here, take a listen: [LINK]
And Carrot Cake and Cup Cake winked at each other, as if to say, "Yeah, she got the message". And even Pinkie's letter to Celestia reflects that.

What do you think of all that? Sorry if it sounded like I treating this like it was a conspiracy. :adorkable:

    Very interesting!

My OC is a unicorn with a blue magic aura, and I was thinking that my magic should be strong enough already not only because I am a teenager, but also because I am very good at computers. So, if I were a unicorn in Equestria, I would be very good with magic.

How good with computers are you? Out of curiosity, do yo have a custom computer setup?

Speaking of computers and OCs, what do you think of the idea of a pony OC(s) being more technological? :mlp_ooh:

    Mine is. :squee:

Cool theory you have there! Obviously, Twilight has grown up over the episodes, and her magic has gone better and better. What’s more interesting is that her unicorn glows in a grayish color during Season 1, but starting with Season 2, her horn only glows in magenta. Maybe this has to do with her magic strength.

I also have my own theories about MLP:FiM stuff. Just check out FiM Canon Discussion! You'll find some of them there.

In addition to Twilight learning more about magic, I think the other season why she didn't struggle with casting new spells as an alicorn is because the alicorn horn is actually larger than the typical unicorn horn. My theory is that unicorns/alicorns channel and store magical energies in/with their horns, letting them use magic and cast spells.

Remember when Twilight was clearly struggling when she was taking care of the Ursa Minor in Boast Busters? She was trying to channel and store more magical energies than her horn was used to, and I think the giant aura around her horn shows that.

    Spoiler

    Does that make sense?

Also, funny that you mentioned the color of Twilight's magic aura because one of my OCs is an earth pony with an artificial horn, and her magic aura is white. I chose white because, IMO, it's associted with things like blankness and being a clean slate. Does that make sense? :mlp_ooh:
Magic-wise, most she could do when she gets herhorn was basic levitation.

That's about right. Most people who use Scratch are kids under the age of 13, and they got the hang of coding pretty quickly thanks to Scratch!

I've been using Scratch ever since I was 11, and my projects back then were already very good. Now I am 16, and my projects leave you speechless!

So, yeah, Scratch is very efficient for understanding the basics of coding!

Can you provide an example of one of your projects that would leave me, as you put it, speechless? :squee:

I meant to say that coding works almost the same way Equestrian magic does. Writing algorithms is like casting spells. You can move objects around on the screen the same way unicorns levitate stuff. There are many ways in which coding and Equestrian magic are identical. But you must understand coding first.

This is just a theory about MLP:FiM I came up with. It could be true. Maybe I should make a whole thread about it.

    Makes since to me. :squee:

I have some theories on FiM, too, one of them explaining why the sun and moon are lowered by ponies and why ponies seem to do everything nature does on its own. ;)

Speaking of magic, you ever notice that when unicorn Twilight casts a new spell, she appears to struggle a bit, but when alicorn Twilight casts a new spell, she doesn't appear to have any trouble at all? :mlp_ooh:
That's another theory of mine. :)

A coding language I would definetely recommend for newbies is Scratch! Coding in Scratch is super easy and you can learn how coding works in no time! All you have to do is practice a little. Scratch is perfect for people who are interested in coding!

Also, I like how you said you wanna be a computer wizard! It's funny when you realise that coding and Equestrian magic are very similar!

You said Scratch is "super easy", but how easy, exactly? Is it "so easy that even a kid could do it" kind of easy? :mlp_ooh:

And why do you mean that coding and Equestrian magic are "very similar"? :mlp_ooh:

I thought about getting one of those iMacs that came out last year, the one that came in multiple colors. These:

Well, with my experience with Windows computers, the longer I used them, the slower and more laggy their responsiveness. It would take longer for programs to load. Defragmenting was a way of reorganizing the data on a hard drive so that performance would improve, but it would take hours to get done. With MacOS (formerly OS X), I never have to worry about that; it remains as smooth and responsive as when I first got the laptop.

For the computers I want to get, I don't want anything to lag on me, and I want the computers to last for as long as possible and still run/function like they're new. :P

Does degramenting affect your files? Since I keep my files on flash drives, I don't think I'd have to worry about my files being affected. :mlp_ooh:

I have never used Maya because I didn't see a purpose of learning a commercial software when a free one is available and proven to work quite nicely.

Blender does have support for animation similar to Flash, making it suitable for making 2D and 3D movies, and has a lot of free tutorials online.

I was gonna watch tutorials for all of the software I'm gonna use for my projects. :P

I did hear somewhere that Maya was standard for 3D animation for movies, but IDK if this is true or not. :adorkable:
