So I'm a well established PMV creator on youtube and over the next week or so I'll be logging away at Season 6 looking and splicing out scenes that look cool for my Memoir of Season 6 PMV. While I do that though I want you guys to look at this outline I made for the PMV. You guys can critique or give me ideas for which scenes could go where or maybe say change it up a bit here and here. Really this is the first time I have written a script for one of my PMV's so I want to hear what everyone thinks of it.

KTFX stands for Kinetic Typography effects. The rest should be semi-self explannatory. As the episode next to the line tells you where I will be looking for a scene to fit that line.

Here is the outline:

You're all gonna be surprised by this but I despised Vapor Trails way more than Sky Stinger in this episode. Someone being egotistical is annoying yes but there is NOTHING worse than an enabler. It's like parenting. It's not the child's fault they have a ridiculous ego and behave poorly it is the parent's fault for not raising their children right. The same principle applies to Vapor enabling Sky skills as a flyer. Sky's behavior was excusable to be honest. When someone is blinded by so much winning they can get pretty arrogant when they don't realize they've been doped by their partner. But for the partner to just sit back and watch their best friend continue to boast without a second thought. To not once think that maybe I should confess. Ignorance is bliss to the receiver and annoying to the viewer, BUT permissive modeling is toxic to the mind of the reciever and leads into lies that will indefinitely ruin a relationship forever.

I have seen this happen numerous times where either the female or the male enables their partner until the lies come out and the relationship is over. If twilight and RD weren't there to save the day (because they wouldn't be in real life) they might have never gotten back together because Vapor was so submissive.

Needless to say though I will give Sky some flack. To never notice Vapor helping him was pretty oblivious on his part. Arrogance aside he was tolerable. And once I understood why he was arrogant I got a lot more mad at Vapor. Like I said it's like parenting.

Take advice from someone who has seen it like 5 times in his life by now. Co-dependent relationships are always a means to an end.

The episode description didn't lie.  

The duty of a description of preview is to get you interested enough in the media that you want to see it, without giving away so much that that it ruins the episode.  

That is a ridiculously hard thing to do.

 

When Applebloom tells a lie, Applejack teaches her a lesson about how when she was young she told a lie that almost lead to the farm losing their business and profit.

DONE.

I don't agree with that. The show's demographic? ?The demographic is family friendly, not little girls. I honestly really dislike people saying that these days, it supports too many stereotypes. For a family friendly show, seeing Applejack put her own family into a hospital is kinda brutal, especially if that would be the cause of the death of her parents. That is way too dark for a show like this and when I say that, I am referring to a show that has a very positive vibe and good messages, not that it is a 'little girls show'.

 

Sure, maybe some hyped themselves up too much, but that is not a fault of the show. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about it except taking a guess it was about Applejack at least and I really enjoyed it. Even still, I don't know hwy anyone was expecting something like that.

You can call it stereotyping all you want fact is MLP is not Avatar the Last Airbender. Which both shows are family friendly. And one show clearly is more mature than the other. The original hook of this show was it was for girls. Kinda why we see mostly female characters in this show. Doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed by people of all ages though. I'm 23 and I love the show. But compared to show's like Steven Universe (also family friendly) it is INCREDIBLY light-hearted.

It is not the fault of the show for people being hyped NO IT IS NOT. But the episode description IMPLIED AJ's lying got ponies in the hospital. Meaning people got hurt and injured. Nothing of the such happened in the episode. All that happened is AJ stopped Granny from almost performing surgery on Big Mac. The only ponies that were hurt were the ones already in the hospital which is NO FAULT of Applejack's lying. Also the episode description said and I quote "WHOLE APPLE FAMILY". Also implying we were going to see the Apple parents.

If this episode is supposed to teach us why honesty is good thing why is the episode description lie to us like so? 

At least when the episode description is properly updated thanks the episode airing now, WE WILL GET THE TRUTH.

For those of you who were disappointed with the hype, does this make you more inclined to avoid descriptions and previews?

I never watch previews for something that I've already decided to consume, because they have a long history of making a story worse.  The narratives are designed for you to watch an episode from start to finish, and previews are designed to give something important away to get you to watch it.  

I'm only really inclined to read the episode descriptions before they air. Only because it helps with me planning out PMV's for each season. Since I am planning a Memoir of Season 6 PMV, I like to know just a tiny bit on each episode to help me plan out the PMV. Other than that I avoid previews and everything. 

Odd seeing some of the chat reactions saying this was a bad episode, I thought it was lovely. Granny Smith was hilarious, Big Mac being a huge talker when he was younger was a treat to see and it gave Filthy Rich more backstory as well as the Apple Family. Sure, the whole 'lie spiraling out of control' thing is a trope that has been done ot death, but doing that with who is now the Element of Honesty was a nice touch. I found the episode to be a very enjoyable watch with of course a wonderfully heartwarming ending. Two hooves up from me.  I really cannot think of anything I did not like here and Applejack is my least favorite from the mane 6 so that is saying something.

 

Also, they were going saw Big Mac's leg off. o_o

For the people that were upset with this episode I can understand why. THE HYPE surrounding this episode was it was supposed to explain the backstory behind the Apple parents. And the description of today's episode HEAVILY IMPLIED that Applejacks lying landed people in the hospital meaning people got hurt and injured. Which evidently wasn't the case. Applejack's lying had nothing to do with why people were in the hospital in this episode even though the episode description said it would.

A lot of people expect deep adult lessons in this show but no one remembers the demographic is little girls. The most mature this show has ever got was "Tanks for the Memories" and "No Second Prances". And I don't see a show like this teaching kids to deal with parental death in the family. And if the brony audience expects this show to explain what happened to the Apple parents. Well if the answer is what we believe WE WILL NEVER GET AN ANSWER! Because of this show's demographic...

I still enjoyed the episode nonetheless. Good moral, Good references, Great animation. BUT

The hype killed it for me - 6.5/10

Sorry to say but I'm just a tad bit disappointed. The description of this weeks episode said that applejack's lying was going to land the entire apple family in the hospital. Heavily implying ponies got hurt or injured with her lying. BUT ALL THAT WAS A COPOUT!!!

It seems a bit lazy. Then again I shouldn't be surprised. This show's demographic is for little girls (mostly). They would never stoupe to that level of maturity. The closest they got was "Tanks for the Memories". 

So we still don't know what happened to the Apple Parents, the description of today's episode was INCREDIBLY MISLEADING, and yet... I was still entertained and I enjoyed the moral.

6.5/10 The hype ruined it for me...

Wait the episode is 2/3rds over where are her parents? I thought that is what this episode was going to center around!

I hope I'm wrong here. Tomorrow's episode is shaping up to be a REAL KILLER.

It is supposed to explain the backstory between what happened to Applejack's parents. 

Did they die? Are they off doing 15 years of slave labor? Are they corrupt billionaire politicians?

All will be answered tomorrow.

Though to be fair I don't think the show will explicitly say they DIED. The closest they got to explaining the concept of death in this show was in Season 5 "Tanks for the Memories". While I would applaud any show that teaches kids to deal with death in the family, the criteria of this demographic "My Little Pony" doing this would be stretching it a bit much.

And I know that Applejack said to Applebloom in "Crusader's of the Lost Mark" and I quote:

"If mom and dad were here they would be so proud of you".

I know the first thing anyone thinks is that their dead but that couldn't necessarily be the case. They could be under intensive care in a hospital thanks to what Applejack did when they were younger. Or maybe they owe the hospital 15 years of debt because bills.

Really all will be revealed tomorrow. But at the end of the day. I'm not convinced a show of this demographic would cater to the category of parental death for kids.

Effectively I believe to be the best foreign dub of an MLP song I have ever heard!

For me the episode was a bit lackluster. I kinda wanted the Trihorn Bunyip to be threatening, and I wanted there to be a third party Twilight could go to, to get the REAL story. I mean problems like this in real life are only truly solved with a third party. I thought one of the seamen that Rarity brought on board the ship was going to give the real unbiased story. But that never happened. 

We got to see more an example of how Twilight is great at solving friendship problems, and I like the reference to Titanic with Rarity's attire. Pirate AJ was funny and I LOLed when Rarity just threw away her own food after letting Pinky taste it.

All in all it was Meh... Nothing special. 

Next week's episode though is shaping up to be a whooper doh. At least from the wikipedia description...

The theme for this episode!

Hey guys I'm trying to start up a new channel on equestra.tv with the sole purpose of getting newcoming artists to the fandom get noticed. This means that PMV's and youtube projects that have the least amount of views made by the brony fanbase are what take priority over everything else I put on the channel. But it as it turns out youtube kind of hides PMV's with less than 500 views from their search results. No matter what I force youtube to search for and even if I go to the very last page of results it still only shows PMV's with over 1000 views. I kind of want to search for the obscure stuff for this channel. I want yearning and unknown artists to get noticed. Of course because youtube won't do it I want to do it myself. 

So if any of you guys know some SUPER OBSCURE video editing artists on youtube making MLP content please let me know!

I only watch Ultra Fast Pony. I watch mentally advanced a little too. All the other abridgers like scootertrix or friendship is for adults honestly just put me to sleep.

I disagree.  Some people are just naturally better at some things than other people.  And at a low level of competition, where no one has put much practice time in or effort to get better, this natural ability is a pretty important factor in success.  This can be both physical abilities (reactions, hand-eye coordination, or explosive first step) or mental (game flow, situational awareness, or calmness under stress)

 

obviously, this only gets you so far, and at high levels of competition, it is better to be a hard worker with a good training than to have natural ability.  

Dude that's what I said. Having an inherent ability to be better at something verses other people only gets you so far. Hard work and practice does the rest of the work to make you ready for the real world of competitive sports and other types of media. But to be a natural at something no one is born with that. I'm a fan of the blank slate theory the most. Of how all humans are mostly products of their environment unless naturally influenced by evolution

I enjoyed the episode. It applied a lot to how different people take pressure and either use it to their advantage or have it break them. And I honestly don't see how RD or AJ did anything intentionally wrong. Whether Flutters or Pinkie were naturals or not you still have to go through proper training in order to become better. But someponies train differently than others. Someponies get better by having fun playing the game while others get better through hard work and practice. Though I will say that is where this episode FAILS.

Basic understanding of humans is NO ONE IS BORN A NATURAL AT ANYTHING. You can be inherently good at something but having it become natural takes hard work and practice. Human intuition is a social construct. In fact some recent studies are suggesting the reason why more kids are being born with mental disorders isn't because of vaccinations it's because of evolution trying to experiment how to make humans smarter. And before you shoot me down on this need I remind you some of the greatest minds of our time had mental disabilities. Albert Einstein, Tesla, and many many more. Some scientists are wondering if kids born with Asperger's or ADHD have natural intuition unlike normal people who don't have it. Intuition is basically the ability to know how to do something before being introduced to it. This is actually why A LOT of artists have some form of mental disorder. Including myself being a video editor and writer and everything else. The ability some people have to understand things faster than others is amazing. 

Perhaps this episode was trying to delve into that? I'm probably overanalyzing and rambling but IDK.

So I'm usually the lurker type when it comes to being in livestream chat groups watching new episodes online. I used to be really into it back when HaxMega did his new episode streams you know hardware store. Recently I wanted to get involved again so I checked out Berrytube and tried to get acquainted there. Here's what happened.

So I thought I would start off by suggesting a new video to add to their livestream feed. One of my really good PMV's. Shameless plugging LOL. But anyways I looked on their newcomers guide and it said to type in the chat: /r the most awesome video ever, in order to request a video. So I did just that and nothing happened and everyone on the chat acted like I did something wrong. But I just ignored it and said meh whatever.

So then I decided to type in the chat "Listen all you ponies out there if you drinkin coor's light while watching this you're a wimp!" and then I typed in "light beer gross af"

Then I was kicked.

I was honestly flabbergasted. Berrytube a community watching MLP that prides itself in a drinking game just kicked somebody because they down-talked people who like drinking light beer. I mean personally that stuff tastes like flat soda to me I only stick to the CRAFT and red's apple ale baby. But that is beside the point. I refreshed the page only to see on of the mods say "too late I booted him" then another person say "good I don't want any pony here that cut of the edge"

So really WTF berrytube? I didn't insult anybody, or bully anyone, or even curse. Man if yall minicolts are too pindicked to drinking real CRAFT BEER like a stallion like me then stay in the kiddie pool!

I'm an aspiring video editor of over 5 years. I do a little 3D animation too. My dream career is to become a video editor for the WWE or just any real job working for the WWE besides actually wrestling because my small 5 foot 5 body can't do that LOL.

I make PMV's on my youtube channel and have actually been featured on EQD a few times. Recently I've been looking for a bit more recognition for my work. I can assure you I'm not somepony run of the mill. I work very hard on my PMV's and AMV's. If you want to check them out just youtube search TheWhiteBowser.

I also make educational videos to help other aspiring video editors. I actually recently graduated college with a Bachelor's Degree in Game Art so I guess you could say I am a certified teacher if you give me the chance. I really want to try to start helping people make better and better PMV's and AMV's as well as share my knowledge with the rest of the world.

I've recently reached out to the MLP reactors community and have a reserved spot on their list for my works so news of my channel can spread by using the reactor community. As for me reactions are just not my thing to do myself. I enjoy the occasional reaction video but not often.

My favorite types of music are 70's and 80's rock and roll. I'm a fan of the alternative rock, and soft rock the most. I like some of the new age 90's music but I mostly stick to the old days music. My Top 5 favorite bands are. 1 U2, 2 Bon Jovi, 3 Imagine Dragons, 4 Gun's and Roses/ACDC 5 ColdPlay

I've recently tried to get back into watching cartoons again since I thought they were dead when Cartoon Network and Nick started going downhill. I got through the first season of Steven Universe and am looking to start the second. I've watched all of Gravity Falls. I've heard Star vs the Forces of Evil is pretty good. Regular Show and Gumball are some of my new age favorites.
