  1. I was only 12 at the time of the pilot but I got into the show more or less half a year later.
  2. I feel nostalgia and a bit of cringe looking back on this old thread I made three years ago though I have grown much as a person ever since then.
  3. I used to be an atheist since my last post in this thread, but now I see myself as more of a Deist.
  4. A very well made documentary she put together; I agree with most points, but the fandom is anything but dead. It's no longer the juggernaut it once was in 2012-2016, but that doesn't mean it has vanished into obscurity. There's still plenty of amazing artists within the fandom pushing out new quality content (like Tsitra360 for example) and plenty of newcomers are a common thing to see on mlp related sites. I think what a lot of people don't understand is what the full extent of the word 'dead' really means when applying it to a community. Everyone has their own definition of what is considered "dead" but from what I've seen it's typically used to describe communities that are past its apex but still hold a sizable fan-base rather than a community that dwindled into the double/single digits. Treating the fandom like everyone has just gone up and left is a bit of a disingenuous and/or ignorant thing to say.
  5. I'd like to join the server. Can you link it here?
  6. While some leave without a trace (cough, SoGreatandPowerful, cough), it's good to see old members returning from a hiatus. Welcome back!
  7. @NathanW200 Hmm, this is certainly a lot to take in, but until there's any official confirmation, I will reserve my final judgment and assume these images are more than likely doctored for now. I 'll have to keep looking further into this 'rabbit hole' as I don't have time to dig into this right now, so I'll reply later after I've done a bit more research on these rumors; which is all they are, just rumors. P.S. I'd rather not use Moliminous as a source of information for a significant chunk of his videos are just click-bait that usually leads into pointless ramblings or theories with little to no substantial evidence to back it up; many just flat out made up. The guy doesn't even use sources to cite his claims, which is one of the reasons why I unsubbed from him a while ago.
  8. Where did you get information about the show being rebooted/canceled possibly sometime in 2019?
  9. Here's an update that occurred on 10/08/17, meant to post this earlier but I kinda got lazy. I went a second time with one of my friends who wasn't even that interested in the MLP franchise (he's more of a Warhammer 40K kind of guy). He didn't mind going since he was free that day and wanted to do something fun. The viewing was way better than the first time, since there were less children shouting and running about, but the best part was my friend actually liked the movie; said his favorite character was Tempest Shadow (mine's Skystar if you can't already tell). Everything went alright, but I think the cherry on top was when one of the children that were making their way out of the theater during the credits stopped by our chairs, and stared at my t-shirt for up to 5 seconds or so, until her mother urged her to carry on out of the theater room. Definitely had to do with the Vinyl Scratch & Octavia artwork that was on it. Just thought it was a funny little moment.
  10. "One Small Thing" was easily my favorite due to the amazing choreography, visuals, and the fact that Princess Skystar looks and sounds too damn cute. "Open Up Your eyes" comes in at second due to it being emotionally impactful song detailing Tempest's loss and how she came to be. Honorable mentions go to "I'm the Friend You Need" and "Rainbow". The rest were alright but kind of blend in for me.
  11. I thinks it's better to just take all the rating from the most credible movie reviewing websites (RT, Metacritic, IMDb, etc) compare them all, and average them all out. But I really don't like how a lot of people see these sites as the arbiters of whether a movie is good or not, and just take the reviews at face value. You have to remember that critics view a ton more movies than your average movie-goer, so they'll tend to pick up on more repeated aspects between movie to movie, adopt higher standards, and give movies ratings lower than what they really deserve. Don't ever let a bad review sway you (w/reason, of course) from a movie that captures your interest.
  12. Cool, I'll write down your name somewhere/follow you for whenever I need some musical insight. I just threw that score together because I couldn't find it anywhere on the web, and was really curious about playing it myself. I'm more of a music player than composer/transcriptor, but any knowledge is valuable. Appreciate your offerings of help.
  13. Thanks for the feedback, my knowledge with music itself is a bit basic as I only have an understanding of a few simple concepts. I'd like to improve, do you know any websites and/or guides where I can learn more about this kind of stuff?
  14. After seven long years, the wait for someone to transcribe this classic MLP song for piano is finally over. Happy 7th Anniversary MLP! https://musescore.com/user/20244986/scores/4704156 Special thanks to DrSentenial for his video - How to Play "Making Cupcakes". Wouldn't have been able to arrange this score without it! DrSentenial's channel >>> https://www.youtube.com/user/DrSentenial
  15. Drew this a little while ago and thought it would be relevant for the event taking place today; Here it is for the sake of Pinkie Pie Day 2017. Still an intermediate artist, but trying to improve with each passing day.
  16. Possibly the reformation of Queen Chrysalis which will most likely cause another fandom rage, specifically in Derpibooru comments. Not sure if Chrysalis is the mother of Thorax, Pharynx, and the rest of the changelings, but it would be nice to gets some more info on that topic.
  17. Did anybody here have any unique, weird, and/or interesting things happen at the MLP Movie you usually don't see at any other movie? For me, it was mostly parents and their kids, and there was a lot of unnecessary noise coming from a good portion of them; But I didn't let it ruin the movie experience. So nothing really too special at my viewing.
  18. I thought bringing an MLP shirt would be way too obvious, so I went with this one instead. I will bring in this one the next time I go see it again with a friend though ;P - https://i.imgur.com/WfnJzLn.jpg
  19. Although I do feel the story was a bit lackluster at some points, for the most part, the movie is a visual wonder, and the songs are really good combined with the choreography that goes along with it. Seriously, most of those songs had very mesmerizing visuals on top of being pretty good and catchy.
  20. Update: Just saw the movie and it was fucking awesome; I especially liked the song "One Small Thing". I plan on seeing the movie again, this time with a friend.
  21. Even though I was pretty reluctant on how I was gonna see this movie, I now know that I'm dead set on seeing it premiere night since I want to have the experience knowing that I saw the MLP Movie in the big screens; Because when the show ends, at least I will know that I went to see its big movie at its debut. Also, I feel somewhat obligated to see it; Mostly do to that fact that I've been in this fandom for way too long that it's about time I go to an MLP related event outside the internet. No way I'm letting this opportunity slip past me.
  22. After reading your response, It made me realize I was just blowing things out of proportions, f#%@ it, I'll just flat out tell em' I want see the movie, I don't care if they think different of me in one way or another anymore. Thank you for the rational advice to my irrational "dilemma". If any newcomers to this post reads this, you don't need to comment, I get the point.
  23. So, the new MLP movie is coming up 18 days from now and I'm pretty excited for it. The only issue is I feel a bit uncomfortable walking up to one of my parents and saying, "I want you to take me to see the new My little Pony movie!" It just feels like a very weird thing to do that I'll most likely get a lot of awkward questions and strange looks from one of them. Now, I've been into MLP ever since the beginning of season 2, but Ive manged to keep my brony status well hidden (I think) from them ever since. Although, I do have this poster hanging on my wall that may give off some hints, but I doubt they know where it's from, as they don't ask. Here's the poster (light blood warning): https://i.imgur.com/kPWYqYB.jpg?1 I somehow get the feeling they probably do know I'm into this stuff but again, they do not ask, possibly to prevent any potential drama. I also have two MLP t-shirts as well but none of them ever asked, "Hey, what's that shirt supposed to be from?!". I assume they don't want to start up an odd conversation about ponies, but I digress. I have a learners permit, but own no car from myself, I'm only 19, and according to Florida law, I can't drive alone without a 21 year old passenger in the front seat. I may just be making a mountain out of a molehill, but if there's anyone with advice on how to approach this situation, that'd be great.
  24. I can understand if people want to believe in something that gives them hope, but in the end, none of us are sinners or owe anything to higher beings. We're free humans that can carve our own paths, w/out having to worry about the chains of a belief system, yet many chose to keep those bonds, as it gives them comfort. The moment I abandoned Catholicism (around 16) was a moment of pride, as I realized I could now live my life on my own terms. My freedom is my religion.
