For the longest time, I really disregarded Banjo-Tooie in comparison to it's predecessor, I had attempted to commit to it many times over the course of about five years and I found it to be overly-elaborate, drawn out and dull. Upon finally sitting down to play the game in a dedicated fashion last year, it's significantly more enjoyable than I used to give it credit for. Yes, I still have many issues with it, and I still ultimately prefer the first game for it's faster pace and accessibility, but Banjo-Tooie clearly had a lot of thought put into it. And from somebody who loves Zelda, I can appreciate the labyrinthine, multi-layered design on a level that my 14-17 year old self just didn't have the patience for.
