  1. My room. My sister watches TV in the living room every day from 5 -11 PM (sometimes to 2 AM and yet complains that she has no spare time...) and gets really antsy when I leave my room or even use the bathroom so I pretty much stopped bothering leaving it after dinner. I mean I have enough stuff to keep me occupied and the most comfortable bed in the world but it is a bit irritating that getting a snack at 9 PM has to be a struggle, but I'll live.
  2. I started playing Digimon Story: Hackers Memory again and remembered how much I loved the main character, Keisuke Amazawa so I used him as my avatar. My friends say "it really fits me", why a seemingly blank faced and emotionless guy fits me is beyond me but I like it anyway (Keisuke is actually a really good-natured, jovial and lighthearted guy, despite all promotional material and artwork making him look like a stoic anti-hero).
  3. I generally like all living things...except Wasps. Screw Wasps. Stairs and escalators always freak me out. Elevators too, but not as badly as escalators. Very few things made to be intentionally scary creep me out, it's almost always overly saccharine, children's stuff that get reactions out of me. Teletubbies for example used to creep me out but I got over it in the last few years. While they don't creep me per say out, Halloween is Grinch Night made me realize how effective Dr. Seuss's monster designs can be used for horror. I really want to see a horror movie done in his style.
  4. A bit. It was a week or two after my 20th birthday and I wanted to reconnect with the MLP fanbase. Not to long before I rejoined, two forums I went on got taken down by the owners because of how hostile and shady the community became in its later days, so it was nice to find a place that was legitimately friendly and chill.
  5. I spend a lot of my free time contributing to a handful of wikis so it's simply more convenient for me to buy online books and comics so I can cite sources easier and upload scan. For books I read in my own time like Conan the Barbarian, then I buy physical releases.
  6. I dropped out/left the schooling system after 7th grade, so I was "technically" homeschooled when I was 13, which was my mom giving me tests to do for about two days then forgetting about it.
  7. I was in a local paper in 5th grade due to a school event. I was also on a local radio station for another school event in the same year. I was at a filmed Monster Truck Rally once with my dad so I probably appeared in a crowd shot, but that's about it.
  8. I was kind of an angsty 11-12 year old who was going through a "cartoons are for babies" phase, and I was to poor to afford video games, so not much really. Phantasy Star, Pokemon and Digimon were the biggest fandoms I was apart of,. I still love all of those but don't interact with the fandoms much anymore.
  9. Digimon Story: Hackers Memory. Playing on and off for the past 8 months. 100 hours in, still not sure if i'm even at the halfway point. It's defiantly one meaty game...
  10. It's such a headache. I've met numerous people, usually in the 13-16 age range who think the way people act on 4Chan should be the norm for all message boards - as in, being incredibly rude, selfish and abrasive to others. I had a whole rant typed up but I'd rather not post it given the bolded text in the OP. Other then that, I'm a paranormal enthusiast so I used to browse /x/. Most of the stuff there is lame, boring or just bad horror stories but there were some gems. Admittedly now I just look up /x/ compilations now so I don't have to wade through the gross smut and unoriginal stories to find gems.
  11. #1: Digimon Tamers #2: Soul Eater #3: Moomin #4: Astro Boy (80s) #5: The Slayers #6: Summer Wars #7: Keroro Gunso #8: Digimon Adventure #9: Trigun #10: Astro Boy (1960s)
  12. After rewatching S1 a few months ago, I defiantly got the impression they all knew each other in some capacity, even if they weren't friends. Dash and Flutter were close friends though, as seen in Cutie Mark Chronicles. There's also this scene from the manga. A handful of episodes in season 1 revolved around the girls growing closer since they (presumably) didn't know each other very well. Griffon the Brush Off is a good example since the initial conflict revolves around Dash learning about Pinkie's hobbies.
  13. Unfortunately, a lot of MLP lore tends to fall apart when writers forget or on some cases, don't care. While major elements of the universe tend to stay consistent, a lot of smaller, neat bits of lore tend to get retconned constantly. A notable example is how a handful of merchandise for the movie (The prequel graphic novel, game book and art book) all contradict each other and the film itself pretty nastily. The novel said that Hippogriff's came from a massive continent next to Abyssinia, while in the "canon" lore, Hippogriffs come from Aris and Abyssinia is now just a kingdom, not an entire continent and the continent it's located on is the (uncreatively) named "Mysterious South". That said, I do love the expanded histories we get sometimes. I think my favorite part is how a character in the film who never had a line got a huge backstory in The Official Movie Sourcebook. I know it's unrealistic and extremely limiting to have 100% consistent lore across over four different storytelling platforms but I would love to see more communication between writers in Gen 5 so we don't have a mess of retcons and plotholes like in Gen 4. Or maybe an explanation where every series is like, an alternate timeline or something. Honestly I just want G5 to be its own thing. Being compared to G4 is inevitable but I hope the series is able to carve its own identity.
  14. Early MLP generations were, from what I can tell, extremely popular in Europe. From what I've seen, each country in Europe got there own comic book lines too, some of which lasted into 1993. Europe even had Generation 3 comics, but I've found little to no info on those outside of a few forum post on MLP Arena. G1 MLP is nice. Haven't watched much of the cartoon (only episode I watched was Baby It's Cold Outside) but I've read some of the comics and story books. As other have said, they revel in "80s weirdness", but I think it's charming. As weird as they tend to be, the stories they tell are pretty versatile. The world isn't as fleshed out as Friendship is Magic but it has its own fun quirks and make it endearing. I especially love how baby seaponies wear floaties, it's cute. I'm planning on watching Tales too. From what i've seen, it's a pretty standard slice of life show but I always liked those anyway.
  15. Easily Dgimon Adventure: tri. I know they marketed it as a film series but no, i was a glorified broadcast anime. Ugh, where do I even begin? The fact that the fanbase almost unanimously agrees that the abridged comedy series has better drama and characterization than the actual series, the fact that they blundered at an attempt at tying the cosmic aspect of Digimon with the science-fantasy adventure, or the fact that a good friend of mine who basically loves everything about Digimon said, and I quote "finally that trainwreck is over" when the series finally ended? The animation was so bad that the dance scene in tri. 2 was a clip show. A clip show! The writing process of the series felt like it was being written as it went on with a lot points were introduced and never really expanded on, character development dropped and characters beng introduced as major characters, only not to do crap. Another big issue was the narrative whiplash and manipulation. Whenever something big happened, it was basically nullified shortly so they could keep the DigiDestined in roughly the same shape so they can keep pumping movies out of Adventure. Speaking of which, they are. Most bizarre, and irritating, they turned a beloved character from the original into a creepy sicko who sexually harassed and beat teenage girls (I know they're not the same character technically but it forever tainted his image). And the filler....I usually enjoy filler since it's a decent break from the story but why does a 24 episode long show need to be 85% filler? The show also constantly downplayed the Digimon themselves. Garurumon getting his ass kicked by Kuwagamon, MetalSeadramon not vaporizing Taichi in a single blast, Palmon and Salamon holding their own against Mugendramon. Bah.
  16. if I recall, Hascon also killed the Transformers conventions too ("Botcon"), so it's inevitable to do the same with MLP and other Hasbro properties with the possible exception of D&D. Another big factor is the show itself is ending in just a few short years. I almost stopped a big fan project of mine when I wondered if anyone would care anymore if the show ended already. It really is a saddening fact that the fandom is shrinking and the show is ending. I followed the adventures of Twilight for nearly a decade now and the community has always been there. I doubt Gen 5 will ever be as big as Gen 4, but I hope the fanbase is just as fun and creative.
  17. I don't think it'll be as big for a few reasons. A lot of the factors that made Gen 4 so big when it first came out now have kind of fizzled out. The "renaissance of animation" is starting to fade into another phase and it's no longer seen as "rebellious" or "weird" to like shows like this anymore now that stuff like Steven Universe and Star vs The Forces of Evil are all the rage, which leads to the show being hardly mentioned outside of its community anymore. I think a lot of newer or younger fans tend to forget just how huge the series was in its prime. Tons of news outlets reported on it, lots of big name YouTubers made a big deal out out of whether or not they liked the show and lots of now defunct fansites were formed. II'm looking forward to it, though. They learned a lot about what works and doesn't work from Friendship is Magic like having a cool fantasy world to build on and explore, and lots of fun adventures that shows off how big and versatile this world really is (G1 had a lot of that stuff too, but it wasn't as refined or consistent), and I hope they fix a lot of the mistakes FiM suffers from like inconsistent chronology, geography and characterization. I just hope Gen 5 s as versatile in media as Gen 4. I love when weird G4 merchandise comes up, like that manga in 2013, or the RPG game books by River Horse and those anime-styled MLP figures being made now.
  18. I have a picture of myself on my Facebook, and I've occasionally filmed myself for YouTube videos but I never really do it often. On the rare chance people do ask, I tend to just link an image of William Murderface, since we look disturbingly alike.
  19. Admittedly I haven't watched a DCEU film and don't plan to, despite being a pretty big fan of DC. I do, however, have two friends who love literally everything about the DCEU and so I hear them discuss it a lot. I always get the impression that the DCEU tries to stay away from the goofier aspects of DC. I doubt we'll get a Hawkman or Legion of Superheroes film anytime, or at least any time soon and we'll probably never get villains like Manchester Black involved. Superheroes are inherently silly and fun, so it's a shame we rarely get the same kind of fun on the big screen. On a related note, Superman vs The Elite I think is the best Superhero films i've seen. It's fun, but has its serious moments with legitimate moral gray area and a great ending. A lot of stories portray a "what if Superheroes killed" scenario, but I think the film really showed how downright horrifying that idea can be.
  20. I think you're talking about Issue 9-10, or the Zen and the art of Gazebo Repair arc. Issue 3 was The Return of Queen Chrysalis Part III: Love is a Many Splintered Thing. But yeah, the arc was a trip. I really like it though, one of the most fun and energetic arcs with fun dialogue. I love how how busy and compact it is, something interesting happens every few panels. Edit: My favorite of Luna's shirts was the one that said "BLAME MY SISTER", I dunno why but I just found that so amusing.

    general media Physical Media Collecting

I have a largely unremarkable but growing collection of comic books. Namely Popeye Volume 2 by Bobby London, and It's Tokyo, Charlie Brown! I have a few The Incredible Hulk comics somewhere but they got lost when I moved rooms, and I also have the prequel comic to the 2009 Astro Boy film, which I never knew existed until recently. I have some other stuff but they're not as interesting, some random X-Men comics I got at a flea market, a mediocre Steven Universe graphic novel, a Doctor Who comic which I haven't read yet and the 4th issue of My Little Pony: Friends Forever (Halloween variant cover, even though it was given out during FCD in May). I don't really see the merit in collecting physical gaming media, but I love collecting physical books and comics, even if my eyesight stigma makes it a bit cumbersome to read. Other than that, I also have a small but growing collecton of tabletop RPGs such as G.U.R.P.S. and Tails of Equestria. I plan on buying some DC/Marvel RPGs soon, after I finish my The Peanuts and Conan the Barbarian collections.
  22. I was reading through Curse of the Statuettes and the thread posted about the NES Mini coming back to stores. Pretty slow day.
  23. I stopped going to school after 7th grade and later went back to school only to drop out in 9th grade (really long story), but I was "technically" homeschooled so it's hard to tell. I think I would've graduated about 2 or 3 years ago.
  24. Not my OC technically, it was my best friends's but we worked it into our shared story together so I'm counting it. It was a Royal Guard just named "Jeffery" who was a sarcastic, lazy smart-alleck who was hilariously under-qualified for his job but because nothing happened in Equestria* no one cared and let him have the job anyway. * This was during S2 so most of the lore and villains weren't really introduced as consistent threats yet. I don't really have a lot of OCs. I have a Star Wars, a few Digimon and a Pokemon trainer OC but they're all pretty tame.
