  1. "I'll get it." He said, maneuvering himself around the cars until he reached the dining car once again. Grabbing a few sharp kitchen knives he tucked them under his wing for safekeeping. He had to defend himself somehow.
  2. Legion bucked at the door again and again, trying with all his strength to get it to open. When the doe mocked him for trying, he landed a swift buck to her face before she vanished. Panting from exertion, he turned to look at the injured pony. "Good work Helios." Legion said, watching the chaos unfold. "Son of a-" Legion muttered, displeasure showing on his face at Lory's recklessness. "Time to make sure she doesn't kill herself." Legion charged after her rushing past the screaming civilians and into the dining car. Wings would be useless in the confined space, so he improvised. Vaulting over a serving cart, Legion rolled to absorb the fall and keep his momentum as he dashed after the creature.
  3. "Buck!" Legion said as the pony crashed into him. Getting on his hooves, he threw off his coat revealing the bat-wings that he had kept hidden. @Driz "Helios! Keep his leg elevated and use my coat to stop the bleeding. Press hard and don't touch the limb with your bare hooves." He ordered, throwing him the coat. He turned to the nearby unicorn. "Lory, if worst comes to worst I'm going to need you to use a flame spell on his arm. Low power, only enough to cauterize it." That would work for now, but the pony would need the trauma kit kept in Legions bag. If he didn't make it in time he would need Lory to do as he ordered. Turning to the door, Legion bucked it as hard as he could at the lock point. "Come on motherbucker, open!"
  4. Legion followed suit, silently getting out of his seat and moving to a more advantageous position. He didn't wat to be too close to the monster when it finished transforming. His demonic senses were filled with the smell of Tarturas, a stinking sulfuric aroma that made the eyes water. Legion silently grinned at the display. As horrible as it was, Helios made effective bait. With its attention distracted, Legion could more effectively defend the civilians in his current state. "If only I could get to my bag..." Legion mutters, glancing back at the door leading to the luggage car. Inside are his weapons and armor.
  5. "No, but obviously the civs do." Legion whispered back, his senses on high alert. He saw Lory stand up, groaning internally "Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" He almost screamed at her, then decided to keep that thought to himself. Legion tried to quietly slip out of his seat. "Stay down." He ordered Whitequill.
  6. Legion's gut told him something was about to go down. He shifted in his seat as though uncomfortable with sitting still. "I've got no weapons, no armor, and no magic. Shit." Legion thought. He kept his eyes and ears open for anything suspicious around him.
  7. Legion nodded in agreement, stepping onto the train. He chose a seat with a clear view of the entrances and exits, his training unconsciously kicking in. Sinking into the row across from Lory, he adjusted his shades before relaxing. "It's gonna be a long trip." He muttred.
  8. "You'll be fine, Lory." Legion said readjusting his sunglasses. He found it easier to be out in public when his cat-like irisis didn't freak everypony out. His wings were folded at his side, covered by an overcoat. He checked his watch. "Train's ETA is in 30 minutes. Let's ruck up and get ready to move out." "The pleasure is mine." Legion said, shaking his hoof firmly. "Onyx Shield, Nightwatch Commander. I'm glad General Chalice is open to cooperation between branches." He smiled at the pegasus, matching his friendly demeanor. Whitequill may have been a large stallion, but Legion was able to look him in the eyes without raising his head. Military life will do that for you.
  9. @Driz "Yeah yeah, you're not picking anypony up tonight Elias." Legion said, lightly cuffing the back of the cats head with a wing. "Although, I have to ask if you have anything in your little safe house that could assist us." Legion chuckled at Elias's dumbstruck face. "Yes, we've been keeping tabs on you, the reports we get are amusing at times." "Yes, Lory we can let you into the officers barracks for the night. I'll show you the way."
  10. "We appreciate the assistance." Legion said, smiling at the General on the outside, but vemonently cringing at his behavior on the inside. "So many regs violations." His brain screamed. "So many..." "Bless you," Legion said stomping on the urge to laugh at her display. He had to be serious for now. "But please keep baseless accusations to yourself until we have all the facts, Lory." He said.
  11. Legion sighed, a small smile gracing his muzzle as Lory left. He had mixed feelings about the unicorn. On one hoof, she was rude, obnoxious, and bottled up her feelings until they exploded, normally hitting anyone in the crossfire. On the other hoof, he felt that she genuinely cared about others and was both nervous and excited about what was going on. Plus she was cute when she blushed. "Wait, where did that come from?" Legion thought aloud. The stallion eventually shrugged, chocking the rouge thought up to job-related-stress. Stepping out of his office, he entered into a nightmare. "This has to be karma for sending Elias to the Public Section of the library." Legion thought, glancing sideways at the cat. The Commander marched up to the General, saluting. "Sir, Onyx Shield, Nightwatch Special Operations Command." He introduced, dropping his salute in time with the General's. "These civilians are under my jurisdiction. With all due respect, your presence in this assignment isn't necessary."
  12. "I can't say I'm sorry to hear that." Legion said, still trying to break Lory out of her shell. "You did what you had to do, I wouldn't have done anything different to be honest." The commander said, the aura of his voice seemed, well... empty. No demonic echo, no otherworldly presence, just a normal guardspony having a conversation. Something was wrong with Legion.
  13. "You just witnessed the possible deaths of hundreds of ponies. You're in shock, I've seen it before." Legion smiled at her, hoping that showing a little emotion himself would help the situation. "Look at me," he said. "It bothers me just as much. I've never seen something this big before."
  14. @Driz @Biohazarddallas Legion bristled at Golds appearance and subsequent disappearance. "Mother bucking mumble mumble blue falcon mumble mumble." He said under his breath. The commander looked at Elias. "I believe you. You can be an insufferable asshole, but when it matters you tell the truth. You may go." As soon as Elias had shut the door, his gaze softened as it fell upon Lory. "Do you want to talk to a counselor after what happened?" He asked.
  15. @Driz @Biohazarddallas Legion led the two into his office. It was cozy, with a large faux leather chair sitting behind a mahogany desk. Neat, orderly, and it even had booze in the mini-fridge. The thestral sank down in the chair, glaring at the cat and unicorn. "That display was both irresponsible, unnecessary, and pointless. We don't need morale lowered any further than it already is." He jabbed a hoof at Elias. "You. Did you or did you not have anything to do with what happened in the plaza?"
  16. @Biohazarddallas Legion shot out of his office in the commotion, blades ready. He sighed in relief as it wasn't another demon attack. He watched as the guards restrained the enraged unicorn and Luna encased the two in a force field. Lory looked on the verge of tears. He marched up to the pair, effortlessly stepping through the force field. "Both of you in my office. Now"
  17. Legion looked back as he opened his office door, spying Lory's furious expression. He had already gone through his period of uncontrollable rage, now it seemed to be her turn. Legion wanted to help, but he didn't know how. Instead, he shut himself in his office, sinking down in his chair to caress his temples with his hooves.
  18. Legion stepped through the portal to be greeted by this sight before him. His body went on autopilot, approaching the remains of the guards. The remains of his brothers. "Who...who the buck did this?!" Legion spat, rage filling his consciousness again. He turned to one of his officers. "I want a full perimeter sweep. Check all the entrances and exits, nothing breathes without me hearing about it." Giving him a salute of confirmation, he stalked silently to the heavy oak door. "I'll be in my office." He said, voice still lacking the otherworldly echo.
  19. @Driz Legion struggled to regain his bearing. These stallions depended on him and he couldn't allow their morale to drop any further by seeming incapacitated. Nodding his agreement, he motioned for one of the mages to summon a portal.
  20. Legion stood there, legs shaking uncontrollably. He snorted in rage, glass breaking in the distance. All those soldiers. All those civilians. He might as well have signed their death warrants himself. Suddenly, all that rage left him like a rushing wind. His legs failed to support him, fallling down into the cool surface of the roof. Head hung low, he turned to look at Lory. "Ok..." He mumbled, the echo in his voice noticibly gone. In its place was the sound of a colt, scared and alone.
  21. "Sixty two..." Legion muttered, mourning replaced by rage building in his voice. In his full ten years of service to the crown, no other op had been this big of a casualty rate. With a cry of rage, he picked up a previously thrown brick and hurled it at the nearest window. "BUCK!"
  22. Legion only glared at her, stomping on the feeling of a blush on his cheeks. He may be a physically augmented supersoldier, but he was still a stallion. He did allow a smirk to grace his chiseled features. "Try Commander, lieutenants are too green to handle the things I do." An exclamation of "Hey" came from the huddled group of officers nearby. Legion managed to stay on his hooves, a cry of alarm escaping from his muzzle. He threw his wing around Lory to shield her from the tremors as the building shook on its foundations. All became still, and he stared right at the empty plaza. "I want ponies on the ground ASAP. Find out what the buck is going on. Block off the plaza for inspection in case anything further happens," He turned to Luna, eyes speaking volumes about how hard this hit him. "Get back to the palace. Now."
  23. "You won't do anything." Legion said, still keeping his gaze trained on her. "We don't need to add to the chaos by sending you in." "You don't need to do anything here." Legion said, moving beside her. "We have it under control, unicorns are poised to use crowd control spells to break it up. It's over."
  24. @Star48955 @Driz @Techno Universal Legion sighed, turning to face the Princess. His face was contorted in disappointment and irritation. "You're not supposed to be here." He said bluntly, wings slightly flared in annoyance. The roar of the crowd seemed to fade into the background when he glared at the group. "Varoyer, tell the mages to deploy the teargas spells now. That's an order, this has gone on long enough."
  25. "Good," Legion said, watching the crowd intently. His gut told him something bad was going to happen. "Varoyer, tell the squads to hold back on the teargas spells. I want to know what's going on first."
