  1. For short term, I am excited about my husband and I's friends coming over tonight for movie night. We would have done it last night but I got held up at another engagement much later than I intended. But it all worked out in the end. Semi short term, I'm looking forward to my husband and I's anniversary which is the first of January. :3 Long term, looking to get back into the educational seat and go in for some extra schooling of my craft just so I can attach it to my resume. Upon moving to New York, there's a few Mortuary law differences, so I have to take a few classes to get myself up to speed on their processes and ins and outs.
  2. My choices would be either Japan, Canada, London or New Zealand. All are beautiful and have a better set up for a lot of things I like, such as healthcare and education.
  3. Well, no. We celebrate Yule, the Winter Solstice. So we do Yule altars, foods, colours, prayers, magic and rituals associated with that. I don't really celebrate "Christmas" unless I have friends that do (which I do), but I'm accepting of that difference and I'll go and exchange gifts, and have a dinner. I do however like that at least a few symbols of the original Pagan holiday came over into "Christmas" which is the Yule log (the name gives it away lol), the tree, and mistletoe. So, underneath the whole thing, a lot of Pagan stuff still survives, even if people aren't aware of it's origin. Even Santa himself was originally a Pagan figure. ^_^, so, no, I don't mind celebrating it with friends, but at our own home, me and my husband do straight-up Yule.
  4. We have had a lot of different threads about fears, and I can't contribute to any of them. I don't really fear anything. The closest thing would be, I guess heights? But that's only if I'm on unstable ground. If I'm on stable ground, I don't fear falling, therefore I don't fear the height. I'm a bit nervous about flying, but not against it. So that's not really a fear. Most people fear losing their loved ones, so I guess that's my pick. But it's not something I constantly stress over, it's just not a nice thought. So. yeah there you go.
  5. I unfortunately have too many regrets. Just living each day to make them better. The best choice I ever made (as corny as it sounds) is dating and eventually marrying my husband. He's definitely my better half.
  6. I mean, yeah spiders are animals. Arachnids. But I can tell you don't particularly like spiders lol. I like them, they eat a lot of the nastier bugs and other insects. Granted, I'm not too happy if I find a brown recluse in my home, but I do my best to catch them in a cup and put them outside. I consider it bad luck to kill a spider in your home. The only animals I cannot stand being in my house are mice (disgusting! Rats too!) and cockroaches. (just as disgusting!)
  7. "Death is the last great orgasm" HAhaha, that'd be great, it's my favourite quote... by me. I said that. (R) that's mine. But seriously though, I won't have a tombstone, I'm going to be cremated.

  9. I have had to call 911 Emergency Services before. Mostly for fights. I saw a fight break out in my apartment complex about six-eight years or so back and some guy pulled a gun, pointing it at the other before hoofing it. I called to describe the man and kept it anonymous. I have called just the police for a noise disturbance in an apartment before because I needed to sleep and the inconsiderate neighbours were having a party well past the noise curfew. I also had to call 911 when I went outside to go to work some time back (my husband was still asleep upstairs) and I went to my car and found a drunk guy sleeping in it. He broke into it and slept, ripping off the bottom of my steering wheel column and pulled out the drunk light (the light that's around your ignition so you can see it in the dark, comes on when you open the door, not all cars have this feature). Luckily everything snapped back into place so no real damage was done, I was just mad that he felt he had the right to do that. Ultimately I decided to not press charges because no damage was done in the end, and the guy was off his rocker drunk and I found out he already had like four DUI's against him. He also stood there the whole time I called the police and waited for them. I think he just wanted a decent place to sleep it off for the night. I worked at a gas station part time during my college years and it was in the bad part of town. Had a bad crack and heroine epidemic. We had messed up people come in all the time, day and night, but night was the worst. They came out of the woodwork. Drunk people of course would stumble in, and we only had one bathroom, so sometimes people liked to go in there and shoot up. We had a 5 minute limit on our restroom and if they went over, we had to throw them out. Once someone messed up hitting their vein while shooting up and sprayed blood on the walls, floor, toilet and sink. That was...frustrating. We had a fight between a couple break out, and he clothes-lined her from behind, slamming her face into the pavement when she tried to run, and then he got in the car, and drove off while she was fighting to get her kids out of the back seat. He nearly drug her. One kid managed to get out, but a toddler was left in the car as he sped off. I have also had to call 911 on violent drunks that assaulted one of my co-workers with bananas from the store and tried to fist fight him in the parking lot. Also while working there, we have had to call for theft, and I've even been threatened in the parking lot near the doors, in sight of camera with a butterfly knife, and had heroine needles flashed at me. I do not miss it lol.
  10. Other than the random rogue spider, nothing really interesting. Sometimes a silverfish or two when season for 'em hit. I was working at a store some years back in my early days of college and a bat got inside the store. I tried to protect it and made them swear no one would kill it. It got out, which is good. Another place I worked at, before college, had a bunch of stray cats that liked to live under the crawlspace of the office. We fed them and they were skiddish, but overall friendly. One of them was really sweet, and the poor thing had only one eye. She'd lost the other one. : ( I stayed at a house in Illinois years and years ago in my youth where raccoons would come right up to the back porch door and beg for food. I've fed a raccoon straight from my hands. They'd bring their babies and everything. Racoon paws are super soft!
  11. Oh heck yes, one of my math teachers in college had no intentions of hiding his emotions or frustration. He never cussed AT us, but we could talk to him like we would someone we have known for a while, and if we wanted to complain about something, or say how hard something was, we could say, "I just don't get this question, it's f*cking stupid." and he would be like, "alright, well, let's see if we can figure the damn thing out." Or he'd be talking and tell us a story about an interaction with a past student or one of his coworkers and say "they were a real jack*ss/dumb*ss... I mean how do you...even f*cking do that sh*t? Unbelievable..." He was pretty laid back and it made his class easier and him more personable. We didn't feel that there was this overbearing wall between teacher and student that causes anxiety or worry. We respected him because he was willing to treat us like adults and understand that sometimes when we get frustrated, we cuss.
  12. Okay, this will get interesting. Regardless of gender, everyone gets called "bro, bruh, dude, man" etc. XD And regardless of gender, I'll call someone, dear, hon, sweetie, honey-face, darling. Sometimes even nerd and dork/dorkus, dorkasaurus. But see, my friends and I, we like to do that playful ragging on each other and use these next words as more "ironic or hilarious" terms of endearment. Ahem, warning, cuss words and maybe not so nice words ahead:
  13. Sounds fun, I don't think I've done this thread: I was born in Nashville, TN I love Anime I'm an artist and have sold pieces of my work Some of my favourite things to draw include beautiful men (naked and clothed), Death the Kid, Ponies and colourful, detailed cupcakes and sweets I've been to three different colleges I used to horseback ride professionally, and have won multiple blue ribbons and never placed below 4th my entire riding career I adore Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit and anything by Tolkien I'm Pagan Gay Married I now live in New York I'm a Harry Potter fan and a proud Gryffindor Fall/Summer are neck and neck for favourite time of the year, but I prefer heat My favourite colours are, in this order: Red, Purple, Black, Gold and Pink I love Victorian Style anything I adore London anything, and have an affinity for the Union Jack (on jewellery, shirts etc.) My heritage is German/Irish I have mocha brown hair and hazel green eyes Design-wise I love Fleur de Lis, black and white stripes, roses, suns, moons, stars and Saturn I love alcohol and like to play bartender for all my friends at get-togethers and parties Dragons are my favourite animal, next are Lions, then Horses The first language I began teaching myself was Swahili I speak, read and write some Japanese (though not as fluent as I used to be) I've met former President Bill Clinton and shook his hand I'm a Leo My favourite flowers are Roses, Daisies and Sunflowers Halloween is my favourite holiday But Valentines Day, I absolutely adore and go batarse crazy with it, doting on my husband and friends like mad I love love. I'm obsessed with romance. One of my favourite quotes is: "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return." I have been involved in Paranormal Investigation and used to belong to a small local team I teach Pagan practises within a small group of 12 students/members and have been sanctioned as "High Priest" in my community. That's all I'll do for now! But, I'll return! ; )
  14. Move on to bigger and better things. I mean, the show's fun, but season 8 is horrific, and I'm not obsessed with the show. It's just enjoyable in my spare time.
  15. I am rarely drunk because I know my limits, and I prefer being cozily tipsy instead of drunk buuuuut---- Nope, still nothing. I've never done anything stupid while drunk. I mean, unless you want to count the time I was at an Anime convention, got drunk, had sex with a guy whom I had just met that night, woke up the next morning, still didn't know his name until much later. But, I don't regret it, and we are still friends. He's in the military now. So *shrug* guess it's not stupid? Other than that, no, I tend to be a horny drunk and since I'm married, if I do get drunk, I have the perfect person to go to. ; 3 And we have usually been drinking together. I drink fairly often, like casually. I'll have one or two shots of whiskey a night, or maybe one or two glasses of wine. Very low "doses" and I don't even get tipsy, so since I do this, I have a pretty high tolerance. So the amount it would take, the proof I'd have to drink to get me to drunk, really wouldn't be too financially smart, nor would that be physically smart. I'm not gonna say I'm the Batman of alcohol, I'm just saying, have you ever seen me and Batman of alcohol in the same room?
  16. Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing (In no particular order of most most accurate or most vague, just typing as I think) We were both orphans, and have been homeless We both were raised by/in a church setting (though neither of us are Christian) Both of us are fascinated and obsessed with Death. In fact, in the Series, Duo's Gundam is called "Deathscythe" and he calls himself "The God of Death" as a battlefield name. I, on the other hand, worship in Pagan practice Gods of Death, and work with the dead. Both of us had a parental figure named Helen Our grandfather figure's look extremely similar down to face and nose shape, hair colour and height. We both have brown hair (biggest difference looks-wise is he has blue eyes, mine are green) Our best friends are Capricorns (I even married a Capricorn) We are both American (though in reality that makes little difference to me) We mask our depression and any feelings of insecurity with humour or indifference, and sometimes pretending we don't care, when it really eats us up inside. We both love taking things apart and putting them back together again just to see how it works and the joy of being able to put it back together Can be goofy, not take things too seriously, loud and brash, but knows when to suck up and get things done (i.e. when it's appropriate) Smarta**/Sarcastic My last name is also Maxwell That's all I can think of for now. But it pretty much covers it.
  17. Mostly me and my husband celebrate Yule/Winter Solstice, but we have a few friends that do the "Christmas" thing, and we're okay with that. So for those traditions, we like to have everyone over and we all put up the tree and decorate it. That seems to be our only real tradition with it, is just decorating the tree together. Other than their base religious purposes, what do the holidays mean to you?
  18. Probably nothing. I can't cook well, so either going over to a friends after work, or just eating whatever is in the house. I usually don't do Thanksgiving unless I'm invited over by a friend that does. What's your favourite Thanksgiving dish?
  19. I watched the Netflix Series Haunting of Hill House, which I highly recommend. Have you read "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien?
  20. Great, I'll post it in the "Non-Pony" artwork section! https://mlpforums.com/topic/180884-king-blanketforts-non-pony-art/ See you there!
  21. Nope, I have barely even seen clips of the game. I know absolutely 0% about it. TPAM likes Paranormal and UFO type shows!
  22. Well, while I'm not insulted or hurt in anyway I can say I certainly didn't expect such a lengthy reply. I mean, I wasn't being derogatory towards what you believe in, nor do I look down upon it, or question it, I was just saying a thing. I was just giving a general history of the holiday. So yes Samhain was harvest season, it's the fall equinox, and some of these traditions over the years, and as religious views changed and so forth things certainly got watered down and now it's the "kids holiday" that so many people know of it today taking only loosely certain aspects. But some things have still survived such as the offerings, dressing up (though it's not really for the same reasons anymore) and jack-o-lanterns. But I mean, as a Pagan, I can honestly agree with you that yes, spirits can see through much more than a mask, and if possible, with the right information and experience and proper protection, certain spirits can be fought off and not hidden from. I was only giving the "old fashioned" reason for why the masks and costumes were once used. I never said it was fool-proof, nor did I even once say I believed it to be effective in any way, shape or form. XD That's just what people thought back then. I thought it was more interesting on the "oh hey lol" sense, you know, something of a "fun tid-bit" is all. Basically, you do what you feel is needed or effective in protecting you from evil spirits. Different things work on different spirits and some things are pretty base-line. It really all depends on what you're dealing with. Each religion has it's own scripts, mantras, chants, spells, etc to help ward off all types of spirits. In all honesty, my whole response was "It's really funny you say it's creepy because here's a fun fact, "(enter said fact), but I can understand how someone can still find that creepy. Not trying to change your mind or nothin' just thought it was fun information to share." And that's... literally the way I meant it. But I appreciate the extrapolation, it gives me a better sense of your stances in case we ever have more conversations at length in the future.
  23. If you don't, do you even Halloween, bro? If you're a Harry Potter fan, what's your house? If you aren't a fan of Harry Potter, or don't know your house, out of these which do you describe yourself more as? Brave, Ambitious, Hard-working, or Clever? (See what I did there? Sorry, I'm low on ideas lol)
  24. Absolutely!! TPAM likes vanilla no matter how plain and boring of a flavour people think it is
