    An important thing to remember: no matter how bad his fandom gets and no matter how much hate we get, at least we are not the sonic the hedgehog fandom. Just remember that.

      @Maudileena It is a toxic minority - hopefully a very small toxic minority - but humanity in general is full of people who alternate between "what's in it for me?" and "how can I abuse this to my advantage?"

      I would like to think ponies are better, but in general, it appears they aren't - multiple storylines set in canterlot or manehatten show that there are far more "spoiled rich" characters than "rarity" ones there, and that ponyville is largely an exception. You could make a fairly good case for the Chessmaster theory from that, really...
