Evening had broken faster than she'd originally anticipated. In the stillness of the warm-colored prelude to dusk, Widdershins hoped that the sound of wooden wheels on cobblestone wouldn't upset anyone who had left windows open, during supper. The mare had trudged out of Everfree Forest like an unsettling omen, toting her wares and worldly possessions in the small wagon that she drove.

All the better, she supposed, to set up late and be fresh and bright, in the morning. The darkly-colored tent was set up along the edge of Ponyville and, while there were certainly a few stragglers out and about at this time of day, the lot of them seemed to leave her to her work of organizing crystals, counting candles, shuffling tarot cards. She hadn't been to this town in quite a long time, and she couldn't help but observe what were likely the quietest hours of the day with an appraising, almost envious eye. Things were so peaceful here. Ponies with cozy homes and cozy beds, eating warm meals with family and friends.

...Nonsense. Malarkey! She ought to be grateful for what she had, she'd tell herself. She had an ornate rug to splay down in the tent to keep her off the ground, plenty of pillows to make it cozy, and at least a few apples to tide her over until tomorrow. Then she just needed to work her magic, tell fortunes to wayward souls, peddle a spell or two, and she could look forward to a nice, hot meal of her own. "Maybe I should ask the cards," she mused aloud, "what kind of business I should expect, tomorrow. Business owners? Vengeful rivals? Lovers, pining away?" She scarcely believed anyone was paying attention to her train of thought...

I hope it's okay that I had a go at doodling a couple different hairstyles for her! Also narrowed her eyes a little bit for that sarcastic tomboy vibe.

@Dynamo Pad Sure, I'm down for those. ^^ And it could take place in Ponyville or Fillydelphia, basically wherever Dynamo would be. I'm thinking Widders probably travels a lot to sell her spells and fortunes.

I'd almost say that the foreground car needs a bigger tire. Whenever I'm not sure of how to draw something, I keep a reference right next to me and work with that. Reflections on things like glass and metal tend to be pretty crisp, so that might also be a thing that you'd want to experiment with. You can also give a sense of movement by making the hair/wings look ruffled or brushed back - even tipping the hat up a little like it's about to fall off, if they're going really fast!

Don't be afraid to experiment with techniques or look up references. I'm really liking this piece overall though, I can tell that you've put a lot of work into it! 

I'm digging those colors. Reminds me of the reggae color scheme. =u=

Been slowly working my way through LoZ: Breath of the Wild. I kept putting it off because I was intimidated by how expansive it was, and I was afraid that it would be too hard, but I've honestly been really, really enjoying it. My LttP-loving 9-year old self is feeling so many feelings from it.

Banned because what are you doing that is way too much sparkle for that much edge.

Widders, waking up at one in the afternoon, behind Sugarcube Corner with a cupcake wrapper stuck in her mane and a half-deflated balloon animal staring her down like.

So, I've recently conjured up a new OC named Widdershins, and I don't have much planned in terms of her history or her goals. I would very much like to find a person or some people who might want to jump into some RP so that I can take her for a test drive and flesh her out some more. I'm down to plan just about anything - slice of life, magical stuff, romance and fluff, angsty things, etc.

I tend to do more para/literate RP, so I prefer things being in that vein.

EDIT: Also, possibly self-indulgent, but if there were any Discords that wanted to pester Widders, I would lov.

To kick things off, I attempted a Widdershins. I haven't drawn ponies in an ungodly while.

He looks like a smug guy. Like he knows something about me that he could use to blackmail me. Underhanded as heck. I'd probably end up in a multicolored body bag beneath Ponyville.

I actually drew again last night after not drawing for...a decent while.

Pinkie Pie's the master of throwing parties - but I think I'd take a stab at throwing her a surprise party, myself. Lots of colorful balloons and decorations, and I'd bake plenty of treats and invite all her friends!
