  1. IMBD linkWikipedia info It's supposed to be based off the first game (in September Legendary Pictures said it'll be a completely new story, but in July they again said that it'll follow the game). There hasn't been much news about the movie, however the latest one is that the script has been finished.
  2. I think every browser besides Firefox sucks, and Opera is the second worst browser. I think Windows sucks. I think the US is the best country in the world and would be okay with the annexation of Earth. I think Obama sucks. I think the US voting system is outdated since the invention of the internet. I think the Imperial sucks and the US/Burma/Liberia needs to change to the Metric system (really only unpopular opinion in the US). Celestia is best princess. I don't like nuts, bacon, and most cheese.
  3. The ALA says that 13,000 die a year from pollution. And that's not counting people who die from heat stroke due to global warming, which is caused by pollution.
  4. Thorium is really common too, and it can power reactors, which output much more energy than a coal plant could dream of. Also, I wonder how anyone could think nuclear power is unsafe compared to coal power. Thousands die of coal power pollution or coal mines each year, while the only real problem nuclear power has made was Fukushima and Chernobyl, which was caused by a giant earthquake, tsunami, and refusing to update the plants safety while Chernobyl was severely outdated and was manned by people who didn't properly know how to work a reactor.
  5. I'm for complete reliance on nuclear energy and discontinuation of gasoline cars. If the US could do that, we would probably be the leading enviromental first world country, not to mention not relying on a nearly gone resource. Imagine no more smog over Los Angeles, that would be a glorious day. However, until we can develop efficient fusion reactors and h3 lunar mining operations we should be using , they're cheaper, safer, smaller than uranium reactors. Why we still use coal and oil for 80% of US power and most cars baffles me.
  6. Time to get Firefox or Chrome on that computer, Apple just discontinued Safari for Windows with the release of version 6.
  7. I'm saying that without a Mac version, I can't test to see how the webpage will look like for IE users, the majority of the internet population.
  8. Just accept that you are using the best browser right now. Be glad that you're not using that piece of crap excuse for a browser. Also, the add-on maker didn't "decided not to make compatible with Internet explorer". IE doesn't support add-ons! (unless you count virus toolbars and search providers in the search bar as add0ons).
  9. #1: It's the default browser on Windows. So not only do we (developers) have to put up with its worthlessness, but 50% of people (with internet) use it. #2: 2 year release cycle. So even if Microsoft releases IE-God which makes other browsers cower in fear due to its speed and standards support, when the next version is released it will be outdated. #3: Crap OS support. IE9, while still bad, is a lot better than IE8. But it's not supported in XP, the most used OS (I think). IE10, which will be better, is not supported in Vista. #4: It renders a page like IE5 if you forget a doctype. Yes, pages are supposed to have it but it's still something no other browser does. #5: POOR STANDARDS SUPPORT. IE9, which Microsoft falsely markets as the best browser, does not support gradients, 3D transforms, animations, transitions, text shadows, border images, columns, the resize property, WebM, and WebGL. IE8 supports way less, like multiple background images, box shadows, border radius, rgba() value (I love this so much), opacity, the most useful CSS3 selectors, background sizing, and no HTML5 video support at all. #6: No Mac versions. Without that I can't test to see how the page will look for the majority of the internet population. #7: Among other stuff. Like how Microsoft tried to monopolize web standards by making a Javascript equivalent (don't remember its name), but it was horribly unsafe and to disable it you had to find it in IEs terrible preference window (which hasn't changed in IE9).
  10. Thanks, that worked! I'm guessing Firefox cached an old javascript file since that worked. I can't stand that stiff spyware browser. I'm never switching away from Firefox unless they were to disable CSS support (or stop developing). And IE? Ewww. Not to mention that it's Windows only, so I couldn't use it even if I wanted to.
  11. This is what I've been getting for the past few days. The background, logo, and search bar doesn't appear, the links are out of of place, and the drop downs are still there (and can be accessed by removing the links). I'm using Firefox 15 Beta, no javascript error is showing up in the error console, and I don't have any CSS that is messing with the page. I don't know why this is happening.
  12. Just playing devil's advocate here. However, for me talking cows and sheep ruin Equestria more than humans, since they can't do anything but stand around. At least Earth Ponies have ball and socket joins on the legs and magic hooves.
  13. Sorry if I'm about to ruin stuff for you. Many of you probably saw this official map of Equestria. There is obvious issues with the size, since Applejack was able to walk from Ponyville to Manehattan and back, plus the ease the Mane 6 visited Dodge City in the Last Roundup and Rainbow Dash visited Los Pegasus in It's About Time. But the Mane 6 also took a day to visit Appleoosa, and it looks closer to Ponyville than Dodge. Yes, it says distance not to scale but still. So I'll disregard canon trips and change the shape and size of Equestria to the USA, since Equestria is obviously inspired by the USA, except with a better government (sorry, had to). First of all, I know equines, cows, goats, etc... are not native to the New World. But magic is not native to the universe either. So, on with the theory, what if Equestria actually has the borders of the USA, and talking animals live all throughout the americas? Equestria in this world would have the pun cities on their respective real-world locations, however Canterlot would be in the rockies (and the capital of the Crystal Empire would be Vancouver/Vanhoover). However, across the Atlantic and Pacific ocean there are... humans! Obviously there were no native americans (to be darker: ponies killed them), and the year would be no later than 1491. Preferably they'd be in the middle of the 15th century. Imagine the episode/fanfic ideas with this. Celestia could send the Mane 6 to lead a voyage to discover land to the east, and they end up discovering Italy. They spend a few episodes in Renaissance Italy, having adventures, making diplomatic relationships between different countries and Equestria, and shattering peoples beliefs with the goddess princesses. It'd be funny to hear humans reactions if Discord managed to cause chaos in the Old World. Sounds like a cool season once the writers run out of other ideas. tl:dr: Equestria is the USA, humans live in Eurasia, Africa, and Australia.
  14. Mac OS X Snow Leopard. The OS is better than Windows, and it has a good amount of apps. Not to mention Quick Look and trackpads no Windows laptops offer.
  15. I meant how their magic works, I know Pegasi have magic. Having a connection to the earth an being able to cast magic seem like they'd extend your lifespan, while breaking the laws of physics and making clouds solid not so much. And I don't think that their technology level is at one that can extend lifespans.
  16. Is that good? Pony lifespans (except for the goddess princesses) seem to be like humans, if not longer. However, as baby's they seem more like horses, like the baby Cakes showed. Examples to support that is Granny Smith, and Chrysalis Cadance referring Pinkie Pie's wedding party to be a five year old's party. For the different races, I assume that Earth Ponies and Unicorns live the longest, due to their races magic. Pegasi probably have a faster metabolism to be able to see all that action and live up in the clouds, so they live shorter (plus the increased chance of dying early from a tragic accident).
  17. Here are some of my favorites: And this guys MLP gallery. And this guys as well. I would go on, but my human folder is 230mb (another 30 if you count anthro ones).
  18. Um... *looks up Wikipedia* Cranston was was ranked in the top 25 safest US cities by CQ Research? Cranston is the third most populated city in my state? I got nothing.
  19. One of the 2 people of the Youtube channel vlogbrothers. The channel has over 728 thousand subscribers, and they have some cool secondary channels as well.
  20. I squeed when I saw this video in my subscriptions box. Hank Green is now a confirmed brony! Now the only thing to do is... get him a better OC! DTFBA!
  21. It affects web developers. IE makes everything so much harder, and if web developers didn't do anything for IE then it WOULD affect you, since everything would look like crap.
  22. I have Mac, so I can't really comment on performance. But I can say with 100% certainty that IE has no add-ons, something that EVERY other major browser has. But the real reason for me is because I'm a web developer. IE8 and below did not make any effort towards compatibility, and although IE9 made some improvements every other browser (even Safari) is still miles ahead. Want to make a simple background? Too bad, you will need to make an image because IE doesn't support gradients. Want to add a box shadow, round the corners of that element, have more than 1 image in the background, or use vectors (SVGs)? Too bad, half of IE users (IE8 and below) won't support it. Want to make a neat text shadow to improve the text? Too bad. Have a element that needs a transition when hovered, want to animate an element, or rotate/scale/manipulate an element in 3D? Too bad. Yes, IE10 has these things, but Microsoft is still doing the stupid 2 year release cycle (Safari would be a lot better if they released every 3-6 months rather than 12). And it still doesn't support the WebM video format (Safari doesn't either, but Safari is not the pinnacle or browsers) or SVG animations (at least not according to caniuse). Want to see what you're missing? Click here. But don't go on it on IE!
  23. I use Firefox. It has more customizability than other browsers (looking at your inability to customize the toolbar Chrome), has more add-ons (and the add-ons can do more stuff than Chrome), it released more stuff each version than Chrome, supports APNG, I prefer its developer tools over the webkit one (and it's being continually improved with almost every other version), and it has better CSS support (Webkit is the only rendering engine that isn't removing prefixes on gradients, transitions/animations, transformations, and calculations for example). Firefox offers to save your passwords, and then only offers again if you login with a different password (logical) or a different account. You only logout if the cookies expire, which is the websites problem. I don't see why anyone would use IE (especially IE8 and below) when Firefox has add-ons, themes, actual web standards support, more tools, has releases sooner than a 2 year cycle that supports more Windows versions and doesn't require a computer restart to update, and isn't hated by everyone that knows about alternative browsers.
  24. I don't like anthro art. Applying pony characteristics on the human form just look weird. And don't ever add horns/pony ears/wings (most of the time) on other-wise normal humans, I've only seen a handful that looks "right". The only pony trait on humans I accept is a cutie mark. However, I do love humanization. This is the only anthro I like: Does Fluttertaur even count as anthro though?
