Zephyr and Sun Fire shook Bubble Burst's hoof in turn. Sun Fire stood quietly next to Zephyr, so Zephyr introduced them. Normally Sun Fire would be the one doing most of the talking since she's more comfortable around other ponies, but Zephyr could understand her reluctance to talk to anypony else, considering the trauma some of her co-workers had put her through.

"Thanks. I'm Zephyr, and this is Sun Fire. Hopefully nopony was hurt." Zephyr pulled the map back out of his bag with his magic. "You mentioned a spa? Could you point it out to me? Life has been pretty stressful for us lately, and a bit of relaxation sometime soon would be nice." He said as he unfolded the map.

While Zephyr was talking to Bubble about the spa, Sun Fire looked around her a bit. Now that she had time to see what was going on in the town, she could tell there wasn't really any construction happening, just ponies inspecting buildings and removing debris. While there were a lot of ponies around, more than she had expected, she figured things would calm down in a few days once the town had finished recovering. She could see ponies laughing, helping each other, and greeting each other all over the town. Looking closer, she didn't think she could see a single unhappy pony. She gave herself a small smile. "Maybe this won't be such a bad place for me after all." she thought, turning back to Zephyr and Bubble Burst.

  2. 4 minutes ago, Stickman, The Legend said:

"I don't know, but we need to make sure everyone's here. I'll do a headcount." Stickman says as he counts everyone.

Sun Fire looked around the room. "Has every pony in Equestria been turned into one of those monsters? If so, there's no way this many ponies stand a chance of surviving." She thought. "I shouldn't tell Zephyr that, though. There's no way he can handle something like that in his condition." Zephyr had stopped shaking, and he seemed like he might be calm enough to talk now. "Are you feeling better?" She asked him.

Zephyr nodded. "A little. Do you think we'll be okay here?"

"I'm sure we'll be just fine. The princesses will fix this. They always do." Sun Fire said, raising her voice a little so some ponies around her could hear. Keeping everypony calm would be imperative in a situation like this.

Zephyr and Sun Fire crested the last ridge before Ponyville came into view. With the sun high overhead, it was easy to see the busy ponies bustling around the small town. After living in Manehattan for the past nine years, it was a breath of fresh air, both metaphorically and literally.

Zephyr looked over at his sister. "We're almost there Nuri. How are you feeling?" He asked.

Sun Fire stopped and glanced up at the sky. "Okay, I guess. I think I'll start feeling a lot better once everything is over with and I can just live quietly. Hopefully not too many ponies recognize me." She said. "I just want to leave my past life behind."

Zephyr gave Sun Fire a quick hug. "Don't worry about a thing. As long as we put in effort and are careful about who we get close to, our life will be better here. You'll see." He let go of her and started walking again. "Let's keep going. Everything we shipped over should already be in our house by now, and the sooner you can get settled in, the sooner you can begin feeling happy again."

Sun Fire gave him a small smile as she followed him. "You're right. I just have to keep my head up." She said, taking a deep breath and pushing her shoulders back. She looked back at Ponyville, noting its damaged state. "Doesn't Ponyville seem a little too busy, though? And a bit like it's falling apart?"

Zephyr looked closer at the town in the distance. He noticed that some of the buildings did seem quite damaged from where he was, and now that he was paying attention, he could faintly hear sounds of construction. "You're right. Maybe there was a really bad storm or something?" He pulled the photo of their new house out of his bag using his magic, and held it out in front of him and his sister. It was a very nice, though not excessive, two story house near the center of the town. "Hopefully whatever happened didn't damage our house. We paid a lot of bits for it." He put the picture back in his bag and picked up his pace a bit. "Come on. Let's make sure nothing too serious happened." Sun Fire nodded slightly and followed her brother on the road to their new home.

Zephyr and Sun Fire walked into Ponyville, other ponies milling around. Now that they were closer, they could see smaller signs of damage all over the town. There didn't seem to be many, if any, dangerous problems with the houses around them. Zephyr felt a bit more hopeful after seeing this, and slowed his pace a little. So far, nopony had recognized Sun Fire, which was good. Zephyr knew the last thing his sister needed was curious fans flocking around her asking questions. He opened his mouth to say something to Sun Fire, but he stopped when a strange pony caught attention. He looked almost like a regular pony, but his coat was an unusual shade of green, and... what was his cloak covering?

Sun Fire, now curious, followed his gaze. "Is that... a pony?" She asked.

"I think so? Let's just keep walking. I don't think he saw us." Zephyr walked around a corner, with Sun Fire close behind him. He used his magic to pull a small map out of his bag. "So... I think we're here." He said, pointing to an intersection on the map. "If that's the case, our house should be at the end of this street." He folded the map back up and put it in his bag. "Almost there." He flashed his sister a smile.

"Yeah. I can't wait." She said, smiling back. They turned back down the street and continued to walk. They took mental notes of the different signs out front of the buildings and vendor stalls as they went down the street, noting where they can get which food and supplies.

  4. Zephyr and Sun Fire were walking through Ponyville at the start of the catastrophe. Sun Fire, with her quick-thinking, half-dragged Zephyr to the Friendship Academy while he was going through one of his panic attacks. She figured that the academy would probably be the safest place in Ponyville, and she hoped that Princess Twilight would have some idea as to what was going on, assuming she was there. Zephyr and Sun Fire ran into some others on the way to the academy, and they decided to join the group.

Sun Fire looked up from the still panicking Zephyr she was trying to comfort. "I have no idea!" Sun Fire exclaimed. "Has anyone seen Princess Twilight? She has to have some idea as to what happened to everyone. And more importantly, how to keep us from ending up like them." She glanced back at Zephyr, who had calmed down slightly by this point. He just nodded slightly in agreement, his eyes darting wildly around the room.

  5. @Blitz BoomI don't think I actually had the links to them in my signature the first time I posted, so that wasn't your fault.

Thanks. I've always been pretty decent at writing, it's just the guesswork behind creating a seamless story with other people that I have trouble with normally. I have plans to write a bio for their brother Borea, but I don't know if I'll include him in this rp when he's done. I have a vague idea for his personality and backstory, but I'm not entirely sure yet.

I think I'll probably start with them moving to Ponyville. Is there a character that is in charge of welcoming new ponies to Ponyville? If not, I can just make up a quick background character and use them just for that one scene. After they're all settled in, Briar and Brittle can come by. I think I've got a pretty okay idea for that scene.

The shop is open to the public, just not the second floor. It's basically a fairly large room with instruments and instrument supplies lining the walls, and with Zephyr working on instruments behind the sales counter. Sun Fire's recording studio is the room in the back corner of the shop. That's just a room with large sheets of cork on the walls to dampen vibrations and a vinyl record recorder in the center of the room.

Did you talk to a physician about any meds?

Also I am trying to write down my thoughts on paper before I go to sleep so they don't linger around in my mind.

No, but I could do that. It's never interfered too heavily with my life, so I've never worried about it a whole lot.

I've tried that before, but it doesn't help me much.

  7. @Blitz Boom No worries. I have really long background stories for both my characters linked in my signature if you want to read all that. And sorry if this post is a little long. I tried to make it as short as I could while still including everything important.

    Zephyr (Karou)

24 years old, Unicorn, male, Sun Fire's twin brother, talented with telekinetic magic and heat magic

Zephyr is androgynous in appearance, and he doesn't show many typical male personality traits. He is very mellow, reserved, and confident, but he doesn't have much courage. He is comfortable in everyday situations, but he panics easily if a predicament suddenly comes up. He suffers from pretty severe anxiety, but Sun Fire is usually there to keep him calm. His cutie mark is a treble clef, symbolizing his love for music.

Zephyr repairs, makes, and sells musical instruments in the house he shares with Sun Fire. His talent with telekinetic and heat magic allow him to create and repair instruments with ease, and he even likes to experiment with making new types of instruments.

    Sun Fire (Nuri)

24 years old, Pegasus, female, Zephyr's twin sister

Sun Fire is pretty much the opposite of her brother. She is loud (though not obnoxious), outgoing, and she loves trying new things. She likes to plan for the long term, and is pretty adaptive whenever a road bump comes up in her goal. However; she often wonders if what she does matters, and can become discouraged from her goals if they don't appear to be getting any closer after she has already put in everything she can. She suffers from depression, and relies on Zephyr to keep her from becoming absorbed in her negative feelings. Her cutie mark is a microphone, symbolizing her talent and passion for singing and writing music.

Sun Fire has a recording studio in the house she shares with Zephyr. She writes music for her and Zephyr to perform, and sells recordings on vinyl records. She and Zephyr get invited to perform at many events in Ponyville, and Sun Fire even gets to travel across Equestria to perform at national events on occasion. She has an amazing singing voice, and combined with her ability to write music, she is considered one of the best musicians in Equestria.

    Background (abridged)

Zephyr and Sun Fire have been inseparable since birth, and rely on each other almost as much as they rely on themselves. They grew up in a small town near Seaward Shoals with their brother Borea, their mother Midnight Glimmer, and Satou, one of Midnight's closest friends from one of the foreign nations. Their father, Magna, died when Zephyr and Sun Fire were young, so Satou moved in to help raise them. Satou became very close to the twins and did most of their raising since Midnight was working long hours to provide for all of them. She taught them all about music, and gave Zephyr and Sun Fire nicknames from her home country (Karou and Nuri). When Satou died, it had a big impact on everyone, and Borea ran away after Midnight began taking her anger and stress out on him. After this, Zephyr and Sun Fire were able to reform their mother into the kind pony she used to be. By this point Midnight was almost bankrupt, so to keep her from losing everything, the twins said goodbye to their mother and went to live in Manehattan as teenagers.

The next ten years were very stressful for them, but mostly Sun Fire. Zephyr developed his magic abilities and talent for repairing and performing on instruments as an apprentice, and eventually opened his own instrument repair shop with the help of his friend, Lemon Squeeze. He even got an apprentice of his own after a few years, named Bass Clef.

Nuri got a spot on Songbird Serenade's team as a back-up singer, where she honed her singing abilities and became popular. When the jealousy of Songbird's other back-up singers reached its peak, they began harassing Sun Fire. It got so bad that she even attempted to commit suicide, but luckily she was taken to a hospital in time to save her.

After these stressful events, Zephyr and Sun Fire agreed to move to a small town and continue their passions there, but in a more casual, stress-free way. Zephyr passed on his business to Bass, and Sun Fire left her job as Songbird's back-up singer. They now live in a two-story house in Ponyville, with most of the first floor being Zephyr's instrument workshop and the rest being Sun Fire's recording studio, and the second floor being their living space. They only use the nicknames Satou gave them with each other, family, and close friends.

  8. Ideally, I want to own a 2-story instrument supply and repair shop in a small town in Japan, and live on the second floor with my wife and children, where I'd grow old and eventually die happily. I've always wanted to hand-make my own line of instruments to sell, too. Especially saxophones. But that's a long and complicated process, and I don't feel like learning another language.

Realistically, I'll probably have an instrument repair shop in the US in my home town, or at least state, and I'll most likely live by myself the rest of my life. I'll pass on my shop to an apprentice or something, and I'll probably die at like 50 or 60 because of all the crap I've inhaled from working on instruments and soldering in closed spaces.

  9. I actually have pretty bad acid reflux, so if I eat anything other than fruit or vegetables my stomach hurts really bad for the next 4 - 6 hours, or more if I'm laying down. I just eat whatever I want at lunch and deal with it, but I have to eat only fruit and vegetables for dinner or I'll never get to sleep.

  10. I'm extremely sensitive, so I just lock myself in my room all day and watch shows on Netflix or play single player games like Skyrim or Terraria. I used to play a bunch of LoL, but the community is so toxic that I spend the entire match worrying that my team is going to flame me if I lose lane, which kind of ruins the rest of my day whenever it happens.

  11. I used to not care about life very much, but I almost died once, and that was the most terrifying experience of my life. I guess most of my fear of death comes because I don't know what comes afterwards for me, and there are a few things I still want to do that I might not get to for quite a while.
