  1. Only like twice and it was wayyyyyyyyyy back when I was still new to the fandom in 2013. Anymore? Yeah that’s a big no.

Not because I’d be embarrassed to do it, just because I think it’s a bit silly. Unless you’re at like a convention and you’re cosplaying a character or you’re with friends that are fans of the show. That’d probably be the only ways I’d use “Pony talk” in public.

People who are legitimately that obsessed with a shipping to the point where they'd send people death threats over not getting their way are an extreme minority. It has to do with extreme escapism, and most people aren't escapists to that degree. Crazy comes in all different shapes and sizes, it is not just relegated to one side of...anything, honestly.

Exactly. There’s also the fact that from the experiences I’ve had in multiple fandoms, the people like that, are pretty much completely ignored by everyone else in the fandom. The fandoms I’ve been in that have those issues do not tolerate that behavior most of the time. If they aren’t being ignored they’re getting called out for their shitty behavior. And are considered the toxic half of the fandom that should not be interacted with too often. They give the fandoms a bad name.

Just go visit this website, and you will see what I mean: https://geekdad.com/2018/10/toxic-fandom-when-criticism-and-entitlement-go-too-far/

Yes give link to an article that just picks the overly cited evidence and not give a warning that sensitive material will be mentioned in it, smooth move.

Side note: antis that pull the shit the article mentions are 90% of the time ignored and ostracized from the anti community. The author of the article has only experienced the negative side of the anti fandoms and therefore thinks that’s how it always is. When it’s not. Death threats are not tolerated. Especially towards minors and victims of anything they classify the ship as being. They basically didn’t even take the time to see that there are antis who actually have usually civil discussions over it. The only time it gets hostile is when a shipper gets hostile. Plus guess what! SHIPPERS SEND ANTIS DESTH THREATS TOO. EVEN IF THE ANTI IS A MINOR. THEY DON’T CARE. THEY’LL SEND IT ANYWAYS.

People forget that the Live Action remakes actually had a film in 1996, remaking 101 Dalmatians with Glenn Close as Cruella DeVil. Long before the chain of Live-Action Remakes.

I personally like how in that version, Cruella is on the receiving end of some slapstick

True. That one was pretty good too.

I guess it must not have done too well sadly if people think the live action remake trend didn’t start until the 2010’s.

  5. Honestly I’m neutral towards it to an extent. Aside from the batb one which is just a no from me. As for Aladdin and The Lion King mmmmm I dunno I might see them. Granted The Genie still looks weird but eh. And I’m avoiding Dumbo because he just doesn’t look right in the live action remake. I don’t know what is. I just don’t like it. The Lion Kings cgi looks a bit better.

So someone shouldn't be put in a mental hospital if they are willing to hurt someone over a fictional pairing?

If they’re being legit and actually make an attempt to do such a thing as in actually try to harm someone in real life? Or actually cause someone to take their life or something? Yes. Because they’re actually dangerous and locking them up would be best for everyone. If they’re just talking shit on the internet? No. Because they aren’t being an actual legitimate threat. They’re just being pathetic.Get their asses some therapy. And make sure they never are able to get anywhere near the people they hurt unless they can give a genuine apology to that person for their behavior. If it keeps happening though? Then yeah. Because they’re showing signs of being a danger.
