  1. If I could spend an entire day with somepony it would most definitely be Sunset Shimmer. (What does perverted mean? I don't think I want to know so I'm going to ask instead, is this image OK, or should I take it off?)
  2. I only like certain bugs if it's a silver fish or a ladybug or a butterfly or a caterpillar or a small ant it's fine and cute, but if it's a bee or a big ant or a spider or a stink bug, I'm out of here!
  3. Boops @Twilight and Starlight, @Baby RainbowDash, @CosmicSpark, and @KH7672.
  4. How is Frenemies worse than Sweet and Smoky? Frenemies was a fun episode that also helped move the plot of the season along. Sure, there were no Main 6, but they weren't needed for the episode, and the episode didn't suffer from having them absent. Sweet and Smoky, while it did do a great job putting even more characterization on the most developed and my favorite of the Young 6, Smolder, I don't like what they did with Garble AT ALL. It was predictable to me once it was revealed that Smolder was Garble's brother, and there have just been so many characters that treat another character like dirt for little to no reason, *Cough Cough Wallflower Blush Cough Cough* and then are handed redemption on a silver platter with no consequences. My mom told me that I had to have the punishment because, "even though I understood what was wrong, I had to suffer consequences for my actions because they were still bad." It's not the whole idea of redemption that throws me off, it's just the predictability of this happening because Hasbro keeps doing it and the fact that they chose Garble, who we have had about 7 and a half to 8 seasons to hate him for being such a jerk to Spike and ponies in general, and then BAM redemption. Although, the episode itself isn't that bad, I just don't like what they did with Garble.
  5. Like: My Little Pony(duh) Blues Clues(The sixth season is awesome!) Paw Patrol PJ Masks Sort-of-kind-of Steven Universe(I really only watched episodes with Peridot) Littlest Pet Shop, or what I've watched of it(I only remember the fourth episode because I watched about 4 episodes and then my mom banned me from watching it) Barney(Yes, I do like it) Veggie Tales Sesame Street The Magic School Bus(Who thought the Magic School Bus Rides Again was a good idea?!) Not sure if these count, but: Rubberdubbers Dragon Tales Clifford(Both the Big Red Dog and Puppy Days) Wiggles Kipper Used to like, but now am indifferent to: Angelina Ballerina Dora the explorer Thomas the Tank Engine Bob the Builder Hate: Spongebob
  6. I will be impressed if you can get all three(answers, not ponies specifically) of these on the first try, as I tried to make this challenging to test pony's knowledge This character is scared of quesadillas These three characters freak out over the smallest things This character got their cutie mark in the season 6 episode "On Your Marks"
  7. (I forgot to mention the good parts of Sweet and Smoky oops . So, Smolder was honestly the best part of the whole episode, I love how she's defending Spike, defending her brother Garble, and "getting along" with the other dragons, even though those contradict each other. Also, Smolder is my favorite of the Young 6 so I had high expectations for the episode that weren't met, so I will cut the episode some slack, especially compared to the other two episodes were I had extremely low expectations based on the little info from the summaries I got, and they still disappointed me. I honestly came up with a much better idea for the episode. What if, instead of Garble getting a hasty redemption because he was only bad because otherwise he would get bullied, Garble was being a jerk to Smolder, but would do it in a way to make Smolder think that he was just showing affection. After spending time with ponies learning about friendship, Smolder might or might not be a little skeptical of Garble, but ultimately the beginning would play out more or less the same. The change would come where, instead of Fluttershy going off to find Garble, Spike tells her to check if the conditions for hatching are right, so she would check to see if the ground was warm. Then, Spike would go off to find Smolder and Garble, and finds Garble doing his jerky "thing(could be them physically fighting, or it could be demeaning words)" to Smolder. Spike gets outraged and tells Garble to stop doing that to his friend and Garble's sister, where Smolder tells Spike that it's OK, this is just a Garble's way of showing affection, to which Spike replies, "But, do you like what he's doing?" Then, Garble turns to Spike and says, "Of course she does," and then starts to be a jerk to Spike, and then Smolder tells him to stop, and Garble says, "Why? He's still weak and hangs out with ponies." Smolder than gives him a lecture about how he can't be a jerk to her friend the same way he's been a jerk to her, and that being with ponies, the thing Garble calls "weak", has given her real friends and "a dragon who's more like a brother to me than you ever were", because you see, Smolder finally realized that what Garble was doing to her wasn't right, and he has been lying to her this whole time. Garble then tries to angrily respond, but by then Ember and Fluttershy would have figured out what was wrong and why the eggs weren't hatching, and one of them would tell Smolder, Spike, and Garble that they need help heating up the eggs. While flying over there and heating up the eggs with fire breath, Garble thinks over what his sister says, and because he is a sweet guy DEEP inside who really does love his sister, who was raised to be like he is by his parents who got snatched by rocs right before Smolder hatched to think that this was OK, he decides to apologize in front of all the dragons, making them laugh the laugh fire and hatch the eggs. Smolder says that she will need some time to think about this, and that she will need a lot of time to forgive him, if at all. Garble would still be a bully and a brat to Spike and other ponies, because, up until Dragon Lord Ember, dragons were raised with that kind of mindset, but he would stop doing the things he's been doing to Smolder and start treating her like a sister. (Also, side note, because Garble would have been too young to raise a dragon and Smolder's parents were snatched by rocs, the other dragons were going to leave her there with the empty shells of the other dragon eggs that hatched, but one dragon couple who had lost their egg just a moon ago said they'd raise her until she was old enough to start living with her brother. . . )(We don't know how long Spike was in the egg, or when Celestia found the egg, so maybe this could work. . . ) I bet there are so many story holes in this *shakes head in disappointment*
  8. I'm sorry, but I honestly think that Common Ground, She's all Yak, and Sweet and Smoky were bad episodes, in that order of worst to not-as-bad. I didn't think Common Ground even needed to exist, because I honestly don't see what the point was, as well as it wasn't a fun episode. Honestly, I prefer funniness over returning characters, which is why I actually like The Point of No Return. The only redeeming factor was Wind Sprint being adorable and honestly having about the same reaction to Quibble Pants as I was. She's all Yak is pretty much the same deal as to why I don't like it, except I can see why it exists, and it actually has a theme that one of the main characters learns, but it also has the worst song of the season so far, and was not very enjoyable for me. Sweet and Smoky was ruined by the predictability of the episode past the first ad break. I am so bad at picking up clues and solving mysteries, and I predicted exactly how the episode was ultimately going to turn out once it was revealed that Garble was Smolder's brother. I, honestly, think what they did with Garble in the episode was bad. I know I personally liked seeing Garble, because I loved seeing the Main 6 and Spike beat him every time. But, we wouldn't be able to do that anymore now that he's "reformed", it just. . . doesn't sit well with me.(Yes, I know we're probably never going to see him again because it's the last season, but that's beside my point.) I will say that season 9 had some amazing episodes, specifically Frenemies, and had two great songs, and we are only half way through the season, but I will say the thing I'm hoping the most for is an EPIC showdown against Grogar, with lots of twists and surprises, and the thing I hope they don't do is reform Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Queen Chrysalis. If anything I would love for them to be their own little "villain league", who look out for each other and try to help each other but will get into petty arguments about silly things just because of their egos conflicting, and they would also always try to take over Equestria instead of remaining on good terms with the ponies because the three hate ponies.
  9. Sorry if this comes out as more of a rant. The age-old debate. Is Sunset Shimmer better than Starlight Glimmer, or is Starlight Glimmer better than Sunset Shimmer? But, is this even a contest? As far as I'm concerned, Sunset Shimmer is best character period in MLP and Starlight would be hovering around a top 10 worst characters list. Sunset always gets the best stories, songs, you name it. The best MLP movies are Rainbow Rocks, where she gets so much character growth, and Forgotten Friendship, which is her first solo movie(finally! ). But I feel like she doesn't get as much love for her villain time as she should. Have you seen the faces Sunset makes?! She is good at everything she does, and she so deserves at this point to be an alicorn princess. Why Hasbro decided to make Sunset start sharing the spotlight with SCITWI, of all characters, I have no idea. The fact that she is confined to EQG is kind of annoying, too. I think that it's understandable to like Twilight Sparkle a little more than Sunset, but I will never understand the weirdos who think that Sunset Shimmer is a horrible character, or that SciTwi is a better character. Sunset Shimmer is cute, awesome, underrated(mostly villain form for this one, but a little of regular Sunset Shimmer too.) If you actually take the time to look at what Sunset was doing, you realize her plans were BRILLIANT. And it was all without using any violence(excluding the scene at the end with Twilight's crown, and that was only because the rest of the main 5 were going on and on about how great the person who she was trying to beat and who was also a princess, the thing Sunset wanted to be from the start, was and all her other plans had failed, so she was frustrated and kind of desperate)! For instance, she took the time to break up the human 5's friendship because Rarity ran against her for the Princess of the Spring Fling, and she wanted to reassert her dominance, so she tortured Rarity both with her knowing it and not knowing it. This was all in preparation for when the contest actually mattered; she was trying to get rid of any opposition before the fact. Then came her redemption. Sunset suffered consequences(rebuilding the front of the school, which she had destroyed), and also didn't immediately get forgiven by everyone and their grandma. She literally got the best EQG movie yet for her redemption arc, and is a far more funny and enjoyable character than the clone of Twilight(her looks) and Sunset(her arc). If you don't know who I'm referring too, you've been living under a bigger rock than the person who didn't know about the background six until about half a year ago(me). Another thing about Sunset: in Forgotten Friendship(second-best EQG movie), Sunset leaps in front of the memory stone's magic beam to save her friends from losing their memories. This is the character who deserves to be the Princess of Friendship's prodigy, and frankly, even an alicorn herself. She can harness the elements of magic herself and fight a raging she-demon to save everyone else. She can sing a very inspirational song about how your past mistakes do not define you, it's what you do to fix those mistakes and earn forgiveness that counts, and grow phoenix wings from just singing the song with none of her friends even around! Considering Sunset Shimmer is my favorite character, I could go on and on about how great she is, but I should probably say why Starlight is a bad character. Her time as a villain is 1: Requiring everypony else to not have a single functional brain cell in their body in her town, and 2: Requiring the story to be artificially slanted in her favor and for her to have plot armor so she can fight Twilight to a standstill. Than, her redemption arc(which wasn't an arc at all) was very rushed. Her reason for being a villain was because her friend moved away, something that many people have experienced. And this has already been done before, except Apple Bloom, whose friendship with Twist effectively ended when Twist got her cutie mark before Apple Bloom, didn't try to immediately burn down the world. She made new friends. And Starlight suffers absolutely no consequences for her horrible actions, instead being able to stay in the castle and become best friends with the saviors of Equestria, as well as become the Princess of Friendship's prodigy, and is shown no degree of mistrust, not even by the ponies in her own village, who forgive her in less than 30 seconds. She is way more powerful than she should be, and as far as we know, has had absolutely no magic training under somepony like Celestia or anything. She's just special because she's special. Also, here's a link to a website, it's not mine, but I thought it was amazing and it helps my argument about Sunset Shimmer because it shows she wasn't just a cliche villain. Here's the link, https://theentertainmentnut.wordpress.com/2014/10/03/an-animated-dissection-thoughts-on-equestria-girls-sunset-shimmer/, I hope I'm giving credit to the right group or person, but I think this website was made by The Entertainment Nut. At this point, as we are on the 200th episode of MLP, I think it wouldn't be too much to ask that we Sunset fans get to play Where's Sunset? at least once, considering you, Hasbro, did that for a character that was the blandest, worst example of fan-pandering I've ever seen, Muffin. And stop shoving Cunty Mc. Purple into our faces at every two steps like caves in Pokemon do with Zubat, or the people who still think Starlight's an amazingly awful character will never change their minds. If your going to make a clone of the main character and the best character in the series, at least have the decency to make her a good character and not just a bad awful Twilight/Sunset clone. I'm outraged that Hasbro shoves Starlight into the faces of people who watch the show, yet apparently is too scared to put the best character, and a fan-favorite, into a background cameo?! Starlight literally has to have everypony else holding a stupid ball so that she can be the "special hero" who gets to save the day, and she hasn't changed one bit. Her biggest problem was that she really overreacted to every little thing that happened to her, and she didn't stop or change this behavior after becoming "reformed". The main 5 are disorganized? Starlight mind-controls them against their will. The Princesses are fighting and not getting along? Starlight switches their cutie marks and throws the kingdom into chaos. Trixie accidentally teleports the map somewhere else while doing magic practice with Starlight? Starlight decides to not tell Trixie how she feels because she thinks Trixie will not want be her friend anymore, and also thinks that Twilight will be mad at her for eternity and kick her out if she can't find the map. One of the changelings is finding it hard to adjust to a new lifestyle from the one he was raised with? Starlight sets a monster on the hive. Twilight gets her school shut down because she and the rest of the main 5 were terrible teachers and couldn't run the school well? Starlight tells Twilight to completely disregard the rules. Discord is being Discord? Starlight almost murders him, even if it was just by accident. Trixie and Starlight's road trip is experiencing bumpy bumps because Trixie's wagon isn't built for two ponies and a full load of magical artifacts? Starlight shows absolutely no regard for Trixie's things or feelings and simply trades her wagon away, and only comes back when she realizes she can't pull the wagon by herself. Seeing a pattern? These are all things Starlight either has no control over, or are relatively small or silly things, yet she reacts in a very over-reactive way to each one. One last thing. Starlight is constantly moping, and constantly feeling sorry for herself. Hasbro has been doing better with this recently, but because there is no outside force causing conflict, there has to be internal conflict, which amounts to a personality of "I'm very sorry for what I did". Sunset still feels guilty about what she did as a villain, but she's dealing with her problems in a helpful organic way, and the viewer isn't treated to endless rounds of "Oh my gosh, I did something bad! . . How will I ever be forgiven for the bad thing I did? How could I? I must make up for it." Honestly, I like external conflict a lot better than internal conflict, as too much internal conflict can make the character seem very insecure and kind of unlikable, unless there is an outside threat that is intentionally using the main character's internal struggle to their advantage, such as the Dazzlings in Rainbow Rocks. So yeh, that pretty much sums up why Sunset would have been better to have in the MLP world instead of Starlight. Of course, I know many people won't bother to read the whole thing, as the people who agree with me will be jumping up and down, doing their happy dances after the first two sentences, and the people who don't agree with me will be running to the comments section after the first two sentences to yell at me in computer language and give extremely bad reasons that I can easily counter about why my opinion is wrong and why I'm a horrible person for telling them they're wrong and blah blah blah. Although feel free to try and contradict my reasons in a respectful manner and/or try and come up with reasons I'm wrong and we can try and see who makes the better argument. I'm not against hearing other people's opinions, as long as they are well thought-out and nuanced.
  10. @CloudMistDragon: I have heard the news many times, it was stated literally in the trailers. @cuteycindyhoney: The reason I'm doing this on the last season is because I didn't have an account before now, as I'm fairly new to this. Also, I'm glad you were able to follow this episode, but how is someone who has never interacted with the online community going to follow this? @The Historian: I'm not the one who made these character's backstories or the one who decided to put them in the show all in one episode with no build up. I'm just the one who looked at these poorly written characters and wrote my opinions about them in my spare time because I felt like it. @Lady Moonspell: I actually did do research on these ponies to find out what their origins were, thank you very much. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear that these ponies weren't overrated because of the show, but because of the fans, which was my intent. Also, just something that's not related in any way, how come you refer to me as OP? Is it something that is related to being a new pony on this website?
  11. HOW THE @#$% DID HASBRO MANAGE TO DO THIS!?!?! THE ONE RULE OF EQG IS THAT YOU DON"T MESS UP SUNSET SHIMMER SHORTS!!! YOU HAD ONE JOB! *Deep breath in* I don't know how this happened, but Hasbro somehow managed to mess up a short(How to Backstage) with the best character in the whole series starring in it! And we haven't gotten a solo Sunset short yet! This should have been an amazing short, or at least an OK one that I like because it has Best Pony in it! Also, they Need To Stop Doing The. Stupid. YouTube. Shorts. Inside. Of. YouTube. Shorts! The only shorts in this format that worked were Game Stream, Street Chic w/Rarity, and DIY w/Applejack. So, STOP! Please! These aren't enjoyable to watch! It's a telling sign when Pinkie Pie isn't funny and is extremely boring in the YouTube short inside a YouTube short format, but her next short was one of the best in the season because it was funny and enjoyable to watch. EDIT: I made this a while ago and on a rewatch, I realized that the short was actually OK, so please don't take this seriously or just ignore it if you stumble across it.
  12. I don't think DJ Pon-3 is underrated because she doesn't get enough praise, I think she's underrated because most fans prefer Muffin or Dr. Hooves. Dr. Hooves is literally one of the blandest/most selfish ponies in the show. In Slice of Life, he takes Muffin to his house, gets distracted with Muffin, and then when Muffin reminds him of why they were there, he just leaves to go GET HIS SUIT TAILORED! Muffin, however, is not innocent either. Muffin was made popular because... an eye glitch that a FEW people saw. Her character doesn't amount to anything other than she's clumsy, and she likes muffins. Her first appearance was so bad, Hasbro and DHX pulled her from the show entirely. I will admit, every since Slice of Life, her character has been getting better and better, to the point that I was almost starting to think "Hey, maybe she isn't so overrated after all." And then the holiday special came out. And she was back to the way she was in season 1. They ruined her, and now she's back to square 1. Hasbro apparently knows that DJ Pon-3 is better because they made two music videos for her, in one of the EQG shorts(I think it's the one where Fluttershy tries out for coal miner number 2), she was one of the ending choices, and she appears occasionally from time to time to take her deserved spot in the spotlight, for instance, helping the main 7 in Rainbow Rocks defeat the Dazzlings. Muffin is a really bad character. She has no personality, and I dare someone to come up with 5 different things that define her. She's not the blandest or boring-est character ever, and by no means is she the worst character. It's just. . . . the fans. Oh great StarClan, the fans! The reason this piece of "Ooh, look, Hasbro put my favorite character that I like for a really stupid reason up on the screen as that really tiny pixel over there! Take all of my money and time!" is even popular is pretty stupid. Her story is the animators messed up and her eyes went wonky for a few seconds in one scene of the first episode, and a few people who were eagle-eyed looking for bugs pointed this out and BOOM! Muffin was popular. Her NAME is based off some gibberish that may or may not have actually been Muffin's. All of the background ponies have this problem of they aren't really characters that the audience knows, only a percentage has hopped onto the Brony train and looked at memes and fan art online. The only two background ponies I actually like are DJ Pon-3 and Lyra Heartstrings, and the only reason I like Lyra is that she's really sweet and seems like a really nice pony who would have been one of the best characters in the show if she hadn't been planned to only be a background pony. According to Hasbro and the official MLP website, the only background pony who's even a character is DJ Pon-3, so Muffin has absolutely no reason to be as popular as she is, because they ruined her in the holiday special and turned her back into her season 1 self! So overrated. And the worst part is, if Muffin so much as flashes across the screen while flying, her fans will go "Oh my gosh it's best pony!" Why did you ruin her, Hasbro? I was actually starting to consider her to be not overrated and then you made her go through a time travel machine back to her season 1 self and be the most annoying mail pony ever!!! Episode 100 was awful. It was just Hasbro jingling keys(Mainly Muffin, but the rest of the background six definitely are offenders of this too) in front of the Brony's faces. I absolutely refuse to call Muffin "Derpy" when her cannon name is Muffin and not Derpy. Also, yes, I know that it was at one point Derpy but it isn't anymore.
  13. Thanks! From what I've seen, this place is great!
  14. As far as I'm concerned, Sunset Shimmer is best character period in MLP. Sunset always gets the best stories, songs, you name it. Sunset is best pony. Want proof? The scene in Forgotten Friendship where she jumps in front of the memory stone and sacrifices her memories for her friends' memories should be proof enough. Sunset was so smart that she was the only person in Canterlot High EVER to make it to the last round of the Academic De-catalog, was Princess Celestia's student, and figured out many of the solutions to the problems happening in the human world(how to defeat the Sirens, why the main 6 were starting to pony up in random places, the source of the magic the main 7 were getting, and how to defeat Midnight Sparkle). Whoever decided the color scheme for her was a GENIUS. Unlike a lot of ponies, her name is actually reflective of her whole appearance, not just her cutie mark, which is a trait I like my made-up ponies to have. All and all, SUNSET SHIMMER IS BEST CHARACTER!
  15. I liked Cozy before, but season 9 has pushed my adoration for Cozy Glow onto levels of the Sirens and Sunset Shimmer, something I didn't even think was possible. Bravo Hasbro, you made a character that could possibly rival my favorite villain(the Sirens) and character(Sunset Shimmer) in terms of goodness. Now, whatever you do, do not, I repeat, do NOT redeem Cozy Glow. One of the reasons she's such a good villain is that she is the only pony villain so far to not immediately go, "Oh, I just had some trouble when I was young that had to do with friendship" and then almost instantly get forgiven by everyone. Hasbro, don't take the only pony villain not to get redeemed away from me. Please?
  16. Hi, I'm Dawn Sunlight, and I'm pretty new to these forums. My favorite character in all of MLP is Sunset Shimmer, my least favorite is Treehugger, and my favorite MLP movie is Rainbow Rocks.
