  1. Heading to bed.  Hopefully I'll do well on my current event test tomorrow.  Goodnight, forums.

    1. Tacodidra

      Tacodidra

Good night, my friend! :) Good luck – I'm sure you'll do well! :fluttershy:

    2. Splashee

      Splashee

      Sleep well! :LunaMCM:

  2. I have one of those, and I was so confused at first. Now I think it's cool in a funny way.
  3. Little hug for @Bas so you can breathe . Big hugs for @Spooky Emerald, @The Demon, @DivineShadow1000, @Cash In, @CosmicSpark, @Tacodidra, @Ganondorf8, @ChB, @Latecomer, @Cwanky, @FalconBrony, @IronM17, @KH7672, @Mellow Mane, @Phosphor, @TigerGeekGuy, @Rising Dusk, @Deae Rising Shine~, @PoisonClaw, @R.D.Dash, @Nsxile, @CypherHoof, @PartialShriek514, @Prospekt, @Trix or Treat, @Dynamo Pad, @Ember Crescent, @FlareGun45, @Kyoshi, @DashYoshi, @strongwilled_pegasus, @Aqua The pegasus, @TheAnimationFanatic, @TBD, @Totally Nyx, @EpicEnergy, @Lambdadelta, @Lord Midnight Madness, @KingMorgana, @Lucky Bat, @Twilight Luna, @Treeglow Flicker, @Sondash Studios, @Cozy Glow, and of course, @Sunset Shimmer.
  4. *Slaps myself for forgetting that Starlight is pink-purple, not orange.* Wow, yeah you're right.
  5. Yeah, I guess so. Deleted a comment that in retrospect was a huge mistake on my part.
  6. I agree, except if that person is also the one that the person trying to improve hurt for reasons that are self-inflicted by that person doing the hurting. Sunset shouldn't have been forced to forgive her for trying to ruin her life out of, I'd say spite. Like I said in my Character Bias blog entry, Wallflower Blush is someone who I have a character bias problem with, but I also have a snapshot redemption problem with her.
  7. Cozy's cutie mark also grew remarkably in size when she became that giant monstrosity in episode 24, probably because it would be so hard to see at the size it was on that big of a pony.
  8. No, I don't think so because how in Equestria would she be about the same age as Twilight at the beginning of the series while Sugar Belle and Big Mac's kid is about the same age as the CMC at the beginning of the series, as well as Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich's kid Lil' Cheese being around the same age as the CMC in the beginning of the series as well. Also, there was never any actual conformation of Sunburst and Starlight being together, so it's pretty unlikely that she's their daughter in my opinion.
  9. Best episode of MLP: Frenemies

An entertaining episode with relevance to the story and organic character interactions, as well as being the episode that made me start to like Tirek and Chrysalis.  It also had a super fun song.

Not listed in order, here are some episodes that are REALLY good, but not The Best Episode.

    Griffon the Brush-Off

A great episode about how you should cut abusive people out of your lives, plus it was fun and has nostalgia on it's side.  Best season 1 episode.

    Dragon Quest

This was probably the first episode that Spike was treated fairly by the writers, and I love it.  Best season 2 episode.

    Hurricane Fluttershy

This episode was incredible because it had Rainbow encouraging Fluttershy and determined Fluttershy and cute Fluttershy and great entertainment.

    Sleepless in Ponyville

An amazing Scootaloo episode, I've gained newfound appreciation for it and also it was the first episode where I think Rainbow started to understand how Scootaloo feels about her and started to reciprocate that a little.  Best season 3 episode.

    Wonderbolts Academy

Wow, Rainbow had really good episodes for the first 3 seasons.  This one has certain nostalgic value for me and also I just always feel invested in this story.

    It Ain't Easy Being Breezies

Amazing moral, also it was a Fluttershy episode that was amazing.

    Inspiration Manifestation

Wow.  Another episode that does Spike justice and when Spike did what he needed to do at the end of the episode, and Rarity and him had that chat, it was so heartwarming.  Best episode of season 4.

    The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone

This is one of my favorite episodes in the series because it is so enjoyable, Pinkie was hilarious but not annoying, and this was one of 3 season 5 episodes I watched during my "break", when I didn't even know there was a season 4 or 5.  Best episode of season 5.

    Rarity Investigates!

An episode I'd watch again in a heartbeat, so engaging.

The Gift of the Maud Pie

This had the first MLP moment that made me happy-cry, and Rarity was just the best here.

    Gauntlet of Fire

Another great Spike episode, and also Rarity and Twilight were awesome here too.

The Times They Are a Changeling

This actually was the episode that made me start thinking that changelings are cute, Thorax was an amazing character, and I should get around to putting him somewhere on my favorite characters list along with Pear Butter, and Spike was also fantastic, and Flurry was adorable.  Best episode of season 6.

    To Where and Back Again

My second-favorite finale, it has amazing Discord, funny interactions between Discord and Trixie, and AMAZING Thorax.  Plus cute changelings and no reformed villains.

    Discordant Harmony

Was my favorite episode for a while because this is probably Discord at his best and Fluttershy at her best and add them together plus an amazing moral and you have a recipe for a jaw-dropping good episode.  Best episode of season 7

    Secrets and Pies

Hello funny Pinkie Pie and her hunt to bring Rainbow to justice!

    Surf and/or Turf

Twilight was incredible in this episode, and also this episode highlights that the CMC are still kids, but not in an annoying way.

    What Lies Beneath

This was the best Student 6 episode, I really like how it was paced and how each solution was found.

    Sounds of Silence

Stole the Best Episode title from Discordant Harmony when I saw it, it was a lovely break from the boring or bad episodes that I had watched of season 8 right before this one, had a great moral, gave an incredible new character and a cool new species that deserved more screen time but oh well, and also was just plain enjoyable.  Best episode of season 8.

    School Raze

Best season finale, because it had best villain, Cozy Glow, and the Student 6.  The only thing going against it is that it had a snapshot redemption, but Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Cozy's awesome plan more than make up for that.  Yes, Cozy has become my favorite villain of both MLP and EQG.

    Sparkle's Seven

Another very well-paced episode, this one actually feels like it deserves to be the 200th episode and it's also a great season 9 episode on it's own.

    The Point of No Return

A funny episode that surpassed my expectations and a good moral that a lot of kids need to be taught.  Spike actually gets a role he deserves again!

    The Last Crusade

An episode with a good moral, high stakes, good character work, and a balance of funny and serious moments.  This episode deserved it’s season 9 placement and really should have been the CMC’s final episode, but oh well.

    The Summer Sun Setback

An extremely entertaining episode where everypony was at their best at some point or another during the episode, it was hilarious, it’s setting up the finale even more, it made me like Twilight better, and Cozy Glow was just the best again.

    The Big Mac Question

This was certainly an episode that surprised me.  I was not expecting an episode like this to be simply as entertaining or as emotional at the end as it actually was, much like how the Summer Sun Setback blew me away with how good it was when I wasn't expecting much.  And this is most definitely an episode that truly deserves it's season 9 spot, like The Last Crusade, Twilight's Seven, Frenemies, and The Summer Sun Setback.

    Worst episode of MLP: Yakity-Sax

And here are some episodes that are really bad, but not Worst Episode:

    The Best Night Ever

Underwhelming as a season finale, and the episode feels kind of longer than it needed to be.  Worst episode of season 1.

    A Friend in Deed

Pinkie acting awful because she can't take no for an answer.  Worst episode of season 2.

    A Canterlot Wedding

Chrysalis acted really stupid in this finale, and these episodes were the reason I disliked her for so long.  This finale just isn't the most enjoyable for me.  But it has cute changelings and an awesome fight scene, though.

    Spike at Your Service

NOOOOOO!  Spike, you got so cheated out of good episodes in season 3!  This episode makes Spike look really bad, and I really don't like episodes that do that.  Especially ones that are Spike-centered.

    Just for Sidekicks

Like Spike at Your Service, this episode is also a Spike episode that really makes him look bad, only this one even more so because at least last time he was being hardworking and noble, now he's just being annoying.  Worst episode of season 3.

    Games Ponies Play

I don't really find this episode to be enjoyable or engaging.

    Filli Vanilli

Pinkie Pie was pretty unlikable here, and I'm pretty sure Fluttershy was not this boring last time I checked.

    Somepony to Watch Over Me

Applejack was really annoyingly overprotective, and Big Mac just disappeared out of the story.  Applejack

For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils

It's basically a retread of Sisterhooves Social except the episode was executed a bit poorly.

    The Cutie Map

The villain was really underwhealming and there is not really a question of if they're going to win since Starlight's town isn't an immidiat

    The Last Problem

This would be meh as a regular episode, but I feel it kind of fails as the last episode ever of MLP, especially since the story is divided between two different things that don’t really mesh well together, since one was in the future and the other was in the past.  Stick with one. Also the story in the past was pretty boring.

    Will finish later.

    2. Tacodidra

      Tacodidra

Great to see some love for "Secrets and Pies" (which I thought was a hilarious episode)! :D And likewise "School Raze" (my favorite in season 8).

I don't consider "Yakity Sax" the worst in the series, but I still found it quite unremarkable. I'm one of the few who like "Somepony to Watch Over Me", though – I really enjoyed that episode in spite of Applejack's weird logic. :P

  10. Sunset on the Sunset of MLP. Sorry, anyway, my favorite moments with you @Princess Luna and your sister @Princess Celestia would be episode 13 from season 9, "Between Dark and Dawn".
  11. @AlexanderThrond: I'm going to quote something I said in one of my blogs: In Sunset's Backstage Pass, Sunset's anger at Pinkie Pie was ABSOLUTELY justified. Pinkie Pie knew how much this meant to Sunset, yet she couldn't stay focused for five seconds which in Pinkie Pie language means I don't care too much for this thing or the person who really wants to see this thing, because otherwise she would do everything in her power to make sure Sunset saw the show. Also, Pinkie Pie Pie ran off to go get churros when Sunset was counting on her to warn her if the Dazzlings were coming, and even though the Dazzlings didn't do anything terrible, that could have turned out so much worse for Sunset, like while watching the movie I felt genuine fear for Sunset when Pinkie abandoned her job to go get churros. Yet for some reason SUNSET is the one who has to learn to accept that apparently PINKIE was in the right for some reason. Hey kids, even if your friend is ruining your day because they can't stay focused for ten seconds on your plans to go see something with them that you REALLY like, you're day is only perfect if you stick with your friend the whole day and never get mad at them because apparently that would make YOU the unreasonable bad person in this. Even though the movie SAYS Sunset is in the wrong, Forgotten Friendship said that Sunset was in the wrong with Wallflower, so I don't think that the movie is 100% right about that. Yeah, I can understand frustration over something being so easy to know what the ending is. That was my problem with Sweet and Smoky. That was once. Once in the whole movie, which she was actually in the wrong for. Actually, as much as I love this movie(My 3rd favorite), that does sound like a better idea.
  12. In my theory, Cozy was born into a family where the parents were both unicorns and she had older siblings that were also all unicorns and she was the only pegasi and also the youngest. Cozy's parents would take the children regularly on raids and other illegal stuff, using lies, cuteness, and magic to get what they wanted, and always thought it was so fun, raising all of their children to also think this stuff was fun. Since Cozy is a pegasus, nopony in her family thought she would be able to do raids and that other stuff nearly as well, so she always had the least important things to do, and sometimes got left behind entirely. Her siblings always had that sense of superiority over her, and Cozy got frustrated because she knew her siblings and her parents were having fun, and she wasn't able to go when she knew she could help so much.
  13. And now we have proof that Sunset's fall was at least partially to blame on Celestia, because in the last episode The Last Problem,
  14. To me, Wallflower was never a sympathetic character to begin with once it was revealed that she blamed Sunset and tried to ruin her life for something Wallflower did to herself. "I'm sad because I never made any effort to get friends and this reformed villain has more friends than I do because she has been actually working to get friends and make those connections, also now no one remembers me because I erased the memories people would actually remember about me. So, I'm going to blame and target by trying to ruin the life of someone who wasn't even the only one doing the forgetting that was my fault to begin with." The moral of the story is, "Even if someone is trying to ruin your life for something that isn't your fault and that they did to themselves, you should TOTALLY be kind to them because if you're not 100% kind to them, they're actually the one in the right and if they just want friends, you TOTALLY should just forgive them and become their friend! Because apparently that's how forgiveness works now!" Yeah, the villain and the snapshot redemption at the end of Forgotten Friendship are what pushed it down to second-best movie, after Rainbow Rocks.
  15. I loved her role in Legend of Everfree, Sci-Twi's constant moping and refusing to get help that she needed was understandable for her character, but was the one of the reasons why she was one of my least favorite characters in MLP for a long time(the other was her role in Forgotten Friendship), until Spring Breakdown came and made me start feeling neutral towards her. Her role in Legend of Everfree was my favorite thing in that whole movie honestly.
  16. Hi, I'm here to defend Sunset. She had a whole 1 time in the movie that I could say she was being selfish, and even there, it was understandable because Pinkie Pie couldn't stay on task for two seconds and she ended up being the reason both her and Sunset were kicked out. Twice. I find myself on the opposite side of what you're saying because I thought that for the most part they made Pinkie unsympathetic. Like, Pinkie, you were supposed to be alerting Sunset to if the Dazzlings were coming back, not running off to go get churros! That could have gone so much worse for Sunset, but apparently, I'm supposed to feel sorry for PINKIE when Sunset gets justifiably angry and says that she's sick of Pinkie ruining everything by running off to go get churros. I mean, Pinkie, Sunset's not wrong, in fact, she's very right, and again, while you didn't know about the times you got her kicked out of the park, you know full well you were supposed to be guarding the van and you ran off to get churros. I was VERY frustrated with Pinkie Pie during this movie. Her motivation is not selfish, she and Pinkie have been looking forward and planning for this day, and Pinkie keeps ruining it, and then Sunset is stuck in a time loop, the same thing over and over and over again with no idea why, and also Sunset has anger management issues that have been established in other films before this, she gets frustrated, she lashes out and says things she might regret later. We saw this in Friendship Games, Forgotten Friendship, Rollercoaster of Friendship, Game Stream, and now here in Sunset's Backstage Pass. Also, the conflict changes in the middle of the movie to being about getting out of the time loop. And finally, it exists for the same reason Rollercoaster of Friendship(The worst EQG and MLP film in my opinion) exists, to make money.
  17. Cozy Glow theory!

Cozy was born into a family where the parents were both unicorns and she had older siblings that were also all unicorns and she was the only pegasi and also the youngest. So, she hatched a plan. Her parents told her all about Twilight and her friends and how they defeated other villains, and Cozy knew that Ponyville would easily fall for her acts, especially since she didn't have magic. How was she a threat? Then, she could get close and figure out a way to have lots of fun while never being suspected. So, she snuck out and went to Ponyville. When she went to the School of Friendship, she realized she was going to need some help getting information, so she set up an act in the hope that somepony would feel sorry for the poor little filly crying all alone and come help her. The CMCs came and helped her, and she learned about the magic of friendship through them, and how powerful it was, and she decided, "Hey, I'm really good at tricking ponies into thinking I'm a sweet little filly, I can use that to get me lots of friends."  She began to think about how fun it would be to have that much power, but she knew she was just a pegasus, and even if she had all the friends in Equestria, alicorns and unicorns would still physically be more powerful. So she stuck around in the School of Friendship, gaining friends, building trust with the professors and head mare and student counselor, and she constructed a plan. "Unicorns and alicorns are only powerful because of magic, which is what other creatures also use as power, and if I got rid of all the magic in Equestria, and I continued with my original plan, I'd be the most powerful being in Equestria! But, I don't know how to do that, and I doubt any of Twilight's books would have it, and even if they do, I can't waste time, and I can't ask Twilight or she'd get suspicious. I need somepony with experience in magic." She thought of Tirek first, and started sending him questions with letters, and she was very happy when he answered them, so she sent him some more, until she had all the info she needed. All she needed now was a place to put the artifacts where nopony but her would know. She saw that the Student 6 were close friends, and wondered if she could do something to make their friendship=power go away, so she decided to create a little tension among them. Then when they found the underground chamber, she knew that was the perfect place for her artifacts, but when the Young 6 mentioned telling the professors, Cozy needed to stop them or she'd need to find another spot and wait even longer for her plan, so she improvised a quick excuse for her to not want them to tell the professor, and the excuse worked. Now everything was ready.

@Latecomer: I should have been more clear, that was an add-on to the theory, not a response to your comment.

To actually respond to your comment, they wouldn't have known about her first plan, but when they saw her in the newspaper fighting with the other villains, her parents were pretty proud of her, and they're hatching a plan to get her out of the stone right now. . .

Her siblings were incredibly impressed, and would treat her like a hero and give her much more status than she had before.

Hm.  Perhaps I should actually create a fan-fic about something in MLP after all.

    3. Latecomer

      Latecomer

So what did they think happened to her the first time? Did they not know she was in Tartarus? And what did they think about the mysterious force that stole their magic?

    4. Dawn-Sunlight

      Dawn-Sunlight

Nopony else in Equestria seemed to know about that first thing she did, or the fact that she was a dangerous criminal.  So most likely, nopony who knew what happened ever told anypony else about it.

About the mysterious force that stole their magic, her parents told Cozy's siblings to not pay any attention to it, but once Cozy is out of the stone they plan on asking her about it.  They're not going to be too happy with the answer Cozy gives them.

  18. Soon, soon I can change my avatar to the Cozy Glow image I want, but I'm going to wait another week to be on the safe side.

  19. More Cozy Glow! Spoilers inside the spoiler tag for the finale. Pure cuteness. More pure cuteness. A very cute picture of Cozy in her adorable winter outfit.
  20. Well, one more month of Sunset Gen 4 MLP/EQG! Even though the finale of MLP gen 4 has come out, there's still more EQG! Yay!
  21. Yes. Yes you are, Sunset. You're very very very VERY cute indeed. To use the amazing new Sunset emoji answer your question, YES!

    4. Dawn-Sunlight

      Dawn-Sunlight

@Tacodidra: Cozy's my favorite villain too!  She beat even the Sirens for that position, incredibly.  Cozy Glow was a character I didn't pay attention to at first, just another young pony attending the School of Friendship, just another character who will appear once and maybe appear in background shots. Then the season finale happened for season 8, and I LOVED Cozy's execution SO MUCH!!! The concept of Chancellor Neighsay being paranoid about non-ponies using friendship to destroy Equestria, and then a PONY, a young, cute pink pony, using friendship to manipulate Equestria is pure gold, combined with the fact that Cozy Glow came the closest of almost any villain to actually succeeding because she had every base covered and had she drained the magic out of Equestria, what could the other ponies actually do to her once they got back to the school, combined with her being the only villain who's plan doesn't involve magic once she won, made her one of my favorites after watching the season 8 finale, and I was SOOOOOOOOOO excited to see her again in season 9, and she was nothing short of perfect. She's a really fun villain as well as executed very well, the only complaint I have with her is not even her fault, I don't like the fact that nopony, not Twilight who's reformed other villains with a talk and is the headmare of the school Cozy was going to, not Starlight who immediately thought of trying to reform the Pony of Shadows despite only knowing that he's trying to basically destroy Equestria about him and is supposed to be Cozy's STUDENT COUNSELOR, so she would have a reason to try, not Fluttershy who tried to reform Alizoltoh on the basis of "Nopony ever asked his side of the story" despite him already have attempted to kill everypony and now trying to kill her and her friend Rainbow Dash and her friend Daring Do right at that very moment, I just don't get why a filly without magic or influence over powerful figures anymore should be locked in the place ponies keep their worst monsters or pretty much be killed or driven even more insane than she is already while other villains with MAGIC and the power to actively turn evil again are just kept under barely any supervision and pretty much no consequences. I'm glad she wasn't reformed, I just think somepony should have at least tried at some point or at least not have defaulted to two of the worst punishments, like, ever, especially since Cozy likely would not have listened or cared. Tempest is the exception because other than fire blasts she can't really do much with her magic as far as I can tell, and it can't be that powerful magic if she can do anything else. Wow I typed way more than I intended. *Hugs*

  23. When I rediscovered the show on Netflix about 1.5 years ago, I didn't actually know it had a 8th season since at that point MLP was only up to the seventh season on Netflix. Then I was looking up images and one of them said to not miss the premier of MLP season 8 on a day that already passed and I was like, "Wait, there's a season 8?" So I look it up, and turns out, yes, up to episode 13 of season 8 was out already, and that's when I found out MLP still had new episodes coming out. Then at the beginning of season 9, I learned I could watch the episodes live, and fast forward to now on the brink of the finale, and I'm sad I stopped watching MLP at one point, but happy I was able to rediscover it, if I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to meet Sunset Shimmer, Smolder, or Flurry Heart, or so many other characters. One of the things that MLP helped with was my bad days, or problems with friendship I'd need to think about. So, I used many lessons from the show. For most of the journey, it was just me and my brother, and that was it. But for the last 3-4 months, I've had other users on this forum that I love talking to and interacting with. I really never expected to like Sunset as much as I do now. Sure, she was the first character from EQG I liked more than others, but I didn't start to be a huge Sunset fan until I watched Forgotten Friendship, which solidified her position as my favorite. Other characters I never expected to like as much would be Spike, Trixie, and definitely Chrysalis. Characters I have discovered would be Smolder, Yona, Flurry Heart.
