  1. Friend Codes are required to visit eachother's homes. Luckily, the 3DS Friend Code system is one step above the old DS Friend Code system with that if you add someone's Friend Code it adds you to One Friend list that works for the whole console, versus the old system where every game required its own code. There have been rumors of this getting removed when Nintendo introduces MiiVerse to the 3DS, but we'll see.

I will be picking up the game later today. I'm going to head to the store and either purchase a physical copy or just buy an eShop Card to buy it digitally. I really can't pick which one I prefer. The collector in me wants the Physical, but the Digital seems more convenient and makes more sense with a game like Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

I just came from a Livestream of someone starting out her town. It was a lot of fun despite it being late and not much to do. The stream concluded with her visiting a viewer's town who was very far along in their Japanese Version of the game. I saw many, many things there that has already lead me to believe this game is the best of the series. At last, Animal Crossing has a real sequel, and not just countless ports of a Nintendo 64 game.

I purchased a 3DS a few months ago, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf were one of the top games that sold me on the console. Despite only owning Fire Emblem: Awakening since my initial purchase, I've been quite pleased with the console and what I'll eventually purchase for it.

If you want to exchange 3DS Friend Codes with me, send me a PM.

  2. I say my best LOVE moment was a time where the woman who I loved needed me. She was going through a rough break up and I was scared for her. I rushed to her house as fast as I could. When I got there we talked things through and I calmed her down a bit. We then even cuddled together as she cried. I told her I loved her, I told her how I was scared, and I told her how happy I was to have her in my arms and that she was safe. It was like a scene from a really corny romance.

...she got back together with her boyfriend though.

  3. Watch the Feast movies with @@Jokuc has to be pretty high on my list of weird. All I have to mention is "The Toddler Scene" and the ending... just wow...

But of course there are the ever loved The Room, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Killer Clowns From Outspace, The Human Centipede, Rubber, Birdemic, and many, many more.

There are quite a few posted here I've always wanted to watch like Eraserhead and Tokyo Gore Police.

Though I've really been kicking myself for not watching this...

  4. I haven't only changed a lot since I was small, but I've changed quite dramatically in only the last 2 years! Funny enough these forums and some of its members have attributed to that.

But when I was a kid I was quite imaginative... perhaps to a fault. I didn't like to play with others because I'd rather just play pretend by myself other kids either wouldn't want to play or they'd just get in my way of my creative thinking. Though as I got older I noticed that the other kids made fun of me for it. Adults started to get worried too. So I just stopped using my imagination... I find it kinda tragic. The social pressure put on me by not only the kids but teachers, councilors, and even my parents suffocated my sense of imagination. I wish I could access that again. Perhaps I could have made something amazing with it like great stories, movies, video games, etc.

I also used to be a big whiner. I'd cry, whine, complain all the damn time. I used to be a little brat. I guess that's one societal pressure that changed me for the better... though I think it did more harm than good. I feel like I was pressured into a box. A box that I have to keep all my emotions and imagination in. I physically cannot be expressive without a deadly fear of other people judging me for it.

None of this was good news as I became a teenager. I found out that I was attracted to both men and women, but I repressed and denied it for some time because I couldn't bare anyone judging me for it. Especially my family. Sadly I guess you could say that I am still "closeted". That hasn't changed. But I've learned to accept it! I have these forums actually to thank for helping me accept this about myself. And just earlier this year I have a few local friends I "came out to" with great results. I plan to officially come out whenever I feel comfortable... which will probably require me leaving my parents place.

I guess in short, I've changed from an imaginative little kid, to an anxiety riddled teenager, and now to a more self-accepting adult.

  5. Man that's a hard one to remember because I joined within the first months of the forum and everyone was pretty close.

I suppose some people I connected to early or just stand out the most in my mind were Finest Hour, Project RKA, Doctor XFizzle, Crispy, EvilShy, LRP, Skullbuster, Zoop, Vissy, Big Macintosh, TwilightCircuits, This Day Aria (who goes by mlp forums now I guess?), Pinkiedashy (I think was/is her name), and Fluttershy4Life.

    ...just to name a few!

  6.

Being stupid, I forgot to mention you get five traits.

Oh okay, well if you don't choose Evil then I suppose put in Genius.

Eco friendly? Don't tell me we got hippies in this house.

Hmm... if my character does follow the path of evil then it looks like he has a rival! Muhahaha

But I remember the first character I made in Sims 3 was a Hippy. His dream was to be the best "gardener" (if you know what I mean) haha

  7. NAME: Colon Leftbracket

    AGE: Adult

APPEARANCE: Basically a taller and more slender version of the dude on the Monopoly game. Though give him a Ginger mustache if applicable.

LIFETIME WISH: Ceo of a Megacorporation OR The Emperor of Evil (Depends if you want him to be good or evil, your choice)

TRAITS: Ambitious, Proper, Dislikes Children, Cat Person, Evil (if you choose the Emperor of Evil)

FAVOURITES: Orange, Classical Music, Food doesn't really matter but if there's something kinda fancy choose it!

CLOTHING STYLE: Fancy old-timey clothing! Suits, tuxes, top hats, and monocles!

  8. Oh I guess I could have passed by here when I first got my 3DS. haha

I got a Standard Purple 3DS and so far I'm loving it!

The only sad part is that I don't have any games yet. I'll have to pick up something for it really soon!

Overall, I think the 3DS is one of the best console purchases I have ever made. The current library is slowly putting even the big boy systems to shame, and the upcoming library looks phenomenal!

  9. I'm pretty freakin' psyched about Gen 6! :D

Been watching that trailer over and over again!

Chespin's CUTE! He reminds me of Oshawatt which is pretty cool. Most people are thinking he may have used Night Slash in the trailer so he may be Grass/Dark.

Fennekin is probably my favorite. This may be the first time since 3rd Gen that I pick a Fire starter first! Reminds me of Vulpix/Ninetails. Might be Fire/Psychic because it appears to use a Psychic looking move.

Froakie is also a pretty cool looking dude too. I'm hoping he ends up being Water/Fighting, though at this point he could be just about anything. It's hard to tell with that 2nd move because its just some physical attack.

...But you do know what could be going on here! A Dual Triangle!

In Pokemon games prior, the starters all worked in a type triangle to counter one another. Fire > Grass, Grass > Water, Water > Fire. BUT, if my type guesses are correct, the starters have 2 type triangles at work; Psychic > Fighting, Fighting > Dark, Dark > Psychic. What is the most interesting, is that these triangles contradict one another.

Chespin would be useful to counter Froakie because Grass > Water, but if Froakie is Fighting and Chespin Dark, then Froakie would have the Secondary type advantage against is counter because Fighting > Dark!

I hope they implement this dual triangle. It would be a neat change-up to the typical start of a Pokemon game!

  10. I just realized that I haven't play much at all of games that came out this year.

This year was terribly disappointing when it comes to games.

Most of the AAA titles that I was looking forward to upset me. Assassin's Creed 3 was kinda lame, Mass Effect 3 was basically 2 all over again, Halo 4 had a SOLID competitive multiplayer but its singleplayer was terrible and Spartan Ops is NOT a replacement for Firefight.

I haven't played games like Dishonored or Far Cry 3 but I'm tempted to just give one of them it. Or Journey, but I guess people who don't own a PS3 get shafted out of that one.

Maybe Spec Ops: The Line? Because it kinda pointed a middle finger at CoD-like games.

Can't award a WiiU game because I don't own one.

BUT in order to award a game I had to have played it... so... choosing this is kinda difficult.

Hotline Miami wins Game of the Year

There we go... close enough... everyone else go home.

(I was going to say Persona 4 Arena, but just no....)

EDIT: Also I get shafted again early next year because Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a PS3 exclusive... XBOX! Why do you suddenly suck so terribly?

EDIT 2: I don't know but next year looks much better...

Ni No Kuni for game of 2013, well unless The Last Guardian wants to be released this console generation.

But DmC has Sexiest Protagonist of 2013 in the bag, so really what else matters!

  11. My favorite winter beverage would have to be the same as all the rest of the year...

    Vodka with a chaser! (I don't have a problem)

I usually prefer either Coke or Mountain Dew as a chaser.

Though since its the holiday season I'd be willing to give Eggnog a shot! (HA Its a pun!)

Non-alcoholic, specifically for this time of year... I'd have to say either Eggnog or Hot Chocolate...

But only if the Hot Chocolate is actually GOOD Hot Chocolate... none of your Dunkin Donuts watered down brown tap water shit!

  12. I've actually been considering selling my Xbox 360 as well recently.

I remember a while back my brother offered to me that if I were to sell my 360 he'd help me buy a PS3.

Now I kinda wish I took him up on his offer, I declined because I didn't want to restart my library (which with further examination is only like 10 games) and that most my friends were on Xbox (I don't play online multiplayer anything really, and I've grown distant from those friends in recent times).

There's a few Playstation games I'd love to play that aren't on the Xbox 360. Namely, Ni No Kuni is due out early next year as a PS3 exclusive which is kinda a bummer to me.

I actually was thinking about doing this by myself this holiday, but what mainly held me back was a bit of foresight. Right now I look at my GameCube which I've recently restored and I have NOTHING left for it. Its kinda tragic really.

I might not hold nearly that much respect for the Xbox 360, but still I did have some fond memories with it, so I guess keeping it would be in my better interests. Even if I don't use it all that often.

    ---

As for you, I don't know. Not sure how much exactly you value games. I feel regret for giving up all my stuff for my GameCube, so I stopped trading in stuff completely to avoid that again.

But if you don't value games or consoles as much as I do then you'd probably have much to gain in selling it. Especially if its to get a gaming PC.

I really recommend everyone to invest in a gaming PC if they're serious about games. PC has more options, will forever be a gaming platform, is far superior in nearly every way, and if the industry keeps going as it does, computers will completely wipe out consoles.

  13. Yeah, I like DOOM 3 but it's more of a generic horror game than a DOOM game. Still a really good game, just that I think it would've been best to sign it off as a spin-off or as another game.

I think it was originally a spin-off, but id software needed money... so...

Just slap a 3 on there and watch it rain money!

But it definitely didn't feel like a real DOOM game, it was still good on its own, but since it was forced onto the main series it just doesn't hold up!

  14. Doom series,i miss that horror shooting. Not much horror shooters are there today,if any. Also it had something special in it that makes it different from other shooters.

DOOM 4 has been in the works for years now.

Though I don't think it will look a lot like DOOM 3 because its unpopular with fans. I personally found it disappointing and trying way too hard to show off graphics rather than be a fun action packed shooter like the earlier installments.

My guess it'll be a much more fast paced action game than a horror game. It may have a few horror elements carry over from DOOM 3, but how much I really can't say.

  15. Also another series that i think got underrated was Homefront. That game was awesome just everypony was too harsh on it. Multiplayer was sweet.

I have no personal stake in seeing a Homefront revival, but I suppose I should tell you that THQ has hinted that a Homefront sequel is being in the works, despite THQ being nearly dead (filing for a major bankruptcy is never a good sign).

THQ has state that even if they go down (which seems likely imo) that their scheduled projects will see the market, so good news for you! Homefront 2 will probably be a thing come next year (or near future)!

  16. Banjo Kazooie! I Love banjo and he hasn't had a game in 4 years. Some of the head desisgners expressed interest in making another but they don't work for Rare anymore so idk what will happen

    attachicon.gifBK.jpg

I never played Banjo Kazooie because despite my age, I was never really that into the N64 era of console games.

But Banjo Kazooie is quite the tragic figure in games when you think of it.

Its not just a game series that disappeared, but was unjustly killed off at its peak.

I mean Banjo-Tooie even hints at a 3rd installment, so Banjo-Threeie is a game that fans were rightfully hyped up for.

But before Threeie could go anywhere Rare was purchased by Microsoft to make... really nothing all that great??

There was a bad Perfect Dark sequel, some lame early Xbox 360 title, Viva Pinata (which I personally loved, but it wasn't anything great). And then finally Rare develops Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts which literally downright insults the franchise.

A lot of people I know wish Rare would get off their asses and make a REAL Banjo Threeie, but their trust is misplaced. Rare is not the Rare it used to be. Its a hallowed out carcass of a once great game development company.

I feel it would be better if Rare, or more accurately Microsoft, would just sell the franchising rights, just so Banjo Threeie can happen.

Even if it sucks, fans can get some sort of closure. Like the Duke Nukem Forever of 3D Platformers, let's just get it done and over with.

    ---

My personal opinion is just that there are still great platformers.

Nintendo is the main home for platformers, though Rayman seems to be the best platforming franchise lately.

Little Big Planet is pretty fun if you have a PS3.

There are also MANY indie games that are great platformers in their own right.

And hey even Double Fine has expressed a lot of interest in Psychonauts 2 (the sequel to my all time favorite 3D Platformer), if only they could get the funding to make it.

I have no personal stake in reviving Banjo, but hey if it gets fans of the platforming genre happy, then its fine with me!

  17. I thought it was just a fan made thing in celebration of this whole apocalypse thing.

There are actually quite a few just like it including http://taxiderby.tumblr.com/finalhours/.

I kinda like how last minute people are tying this apocalypse hype around Majora's Mask now. Its kinda fun to hear all this old music again!

EDIT: The guy who made the site says he's releasing a sorta remix album for Majora's Mask when the time hits zero, so there's your answer!

  18. I think we tried to have one of these WAY back when the game first launched.

I can't remember, but I may have even been the one to suggest it.

I haven't really played the game in a long time! But I've been meaning to get back into it.

And hey, my main character was on the Ebon Hawk server so I guess that works out fine, so I may be interested in joining if I get myself back into the game.

  19. I think you may be overreacting a bit.

You assume the ONLY way people have found their favorite channels was through the main page, when actually I find this to be further from the truth.

The only things I've ever found through the main page was some rather lack luster shit and things YouTube keeps recommending I watch are things that I never want to watch in my life.

Seriously YouTube, when are you going to understand that I NEVER want to watch Shane Dawson, Smosh, PewDiePie, and especially not Ray William Johnson ever again!

Oh and as far as the layout goes, calm down guys. These things take time!

Certainly its frustrating to have to relearn how to use YouTube again, but in a few weeks you won't even know the difference.

Though... that white space does bother me a bit. Maybe they have something planned for it? I don't know.

  20. I haven't played the Wii title yet. For some reason this one is hard for me to find. I checked GameStop, FYE, a lesser (but totally better) local store, and other stores used game sections and can't seem to locate it.

Guess I'd have to buy it online somewhere. Oh well.

I did play the original GameCube game and loved it. Though like most games I played I never owned it or probably never finished it. Both Symphonia games are high on my priority list for must buy games.

As for my opinion on the sequel, well I don't have an official opinion having not played it, but I think it sounds pretty nice. I like that the story is smaller. I don't get the mindsets of some people who think that a sequel has to be bigger than what came before it. When it comes to story, bigger is NOT always better. In fact sometimes smaller can even be better. The only problem I have with it is that its on the Wii and just personally I don't like playing games on the Wii because mine's old and abused by my sisters so it has issues and is probably near exploding if you heard it run! :P Kinda wish it was on a different platform, but oh well I'll just have to deal with it.

  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGHy6mKLxVo

Megas XLR. I don't want it changed though, just re-aired. That show was god-tier.

I mean seriously, how many TV shows are about a fat guy who finds a giant robot from the future, turns it into a game console, and beats up giant robots and aliens with it, and destroys the entire state of New Jersey in the crossfire in every episode? None.

    Or there was this show!

I was going to mention this because its one of my favorite shows Cartoon Network ever had!

But I was focusing more on actual revivals of shows that I feel deserve it and not just re-airing.

Not sure if there is too much of a demand for more episodes, but show creators, Jody Schaeffer and George Krstic, aren't up to much else so they could return if Cartoon Network would take them.

But I left it out because I'm guessing there's a really low demand aside from some fans like you and I alike!
