  1. I have no personal stake in seeing a Homefront revival, but I suppose I should tell you that THQ has hinted that a Homefront sequel is being in the works, despite THQ being nearly dead (filing for a major bankruptcy is never a good sign). THQ has state that even if they go down (which seems likely imo) that their scheduled projects will see the market, so good news for you! Homefront 2 will probably be a thing come next year (or near future)!
  2. I never played Banjo Kazooie because despite my age, I was never really that into the N64 era of console games. But Banjo Kazooie is quite the tragic figure in games when you think of it. Its not just a game series that disappeared, but was unjustly killed off at its peak. I mean Banjo-Tooie even hints at a 3rd installment, so Banjo-Threeie is a game that fans were rightfully hyped up for. But before Threeie could go anywhere Rare was purchased by Microsoft to make... really nothing all that great?? There was a bad Perfect Dark sequel, some lame early Xbox 360 title, Viva Pinata (which I personally loved, but it wasn't anything great). And then finally Rare develops Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts which literally downright insults the franchise. A lot of people I know wish Rare would get off their asses and make a REAL Banjo Threeie, but their trust is misplaced. Rare is not the Rare it used to be. Its a hallowed out carcass of a once great game development company. I feel it would be better if Rare, or more accurately Microsoft, would just sell the franchising rights, just so Banjo Threeie can happen. Even if it sucks, fans can get some sort of closure. Like the Duke Nukem Forever of 3D Platformers, let's just get it done and over with. --- My personal opinion is just that there are still great platformers. Nintendo is the main home for platformers, though Rayman seems to be the best platforming franchise lately. Little Big Planet is pretty fun if you have a PS3. There are also MANY indie games that are great platformers in their own right. And hey even Double Fine has expressed a lot of interest in Psychonauts 2 (the sequel to my all time favorite 3D Platformer), if only they could get the funding to make it. I have no personal stake in reviving Banjo, but hey if it gets fans of the platforming genre happy, then its fine with me!
  3. The freedom to be honest with loved ones is a freedom most people take for granted, but it might be one of the most important freedoms one may get.

I know technically I have this freedom, but I'm held back from my own phobias.

All my life I've always kept things secret, even from my own family.

But I finally found someone who I can be 100% honestly, well at least one person who I know on a deeper more personal level.

The feeling of finally having that is REALLY nice! :)

  4. Considering my recent purchases... I just can't really... Come to... Some sort of... Logical conclusion... To that question there... Idk.... probably some game that never quite got the attention it quite deserved... ...at least outside of Japan.
  5. Just spent like a hundred bucks on Fangamer... WHOOPS! :P

  6. *Checks out friend activity on Steam* "Feld0 now owns A METRIC SHIT TON OF GAMES" Well, I see Feld0 has really been hitting these Steam sales lately! lol

I am pretty sure that Elite Games downtown has multiple copies going for about $15.

  8. Ah, just in time for the holiday I got my package in the mail! It's my long awaited package from the Fangamer Retrowear Kickstarter! Yep a solid $50 went from my wallet to fund the awesome store and I finally got my sweet loot yesterday! Got myself the Lucas and Shirtness shirts respectively which do hold up to the promise of being as accurate as possible to the Mother Trilogy protagonists. (Ninten essentially has the same shirt as Ness, though I've seen some people come up with small differences) But it also came with a store of cute pins and keychains which is a nice extra! Also included was a limited edition coloring book that features characters from Eartbound, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Mario, Metroid, Mother 3, Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Dig Dug, and Pokemon. I have no plans to color it in or do the activities, but its still something I'll treasure! --- But something else that came included was a Paper Craft toy. A Paper Craft toy of none other than the Phase Distorter featured in Earthbound! Earlier this morning I decided to take it out to begin crafting the Paper Craft toy. Man, do I SUCK with scissors! I screwed up so many times that I'm surprised that the toy can even hold itself together, but with some time I finished it... sorta. I'm not entirely sure how to put the antenna on. There's not slot for it and its a 2D thing so I guess I glue it which is kinda weird! Anyway here it is!
  9. @@almozayaf, ...Okay. Yes I suppose I could definitely be in a worst position and yes keeping secrets from my family is not something I want to do. But it just seems to be the temporary answer for now. I will tell them eventually when I have the freedom to get out of the house. And no, of course they wouldn't kill me, but I suppose I'm just afraid of my own family rejecting me, especially when I'm still under their roof. When I finish up school and move out, then they can reject me all they want for all I care.
  10. My package from the Fangamer Kickstarter came! :D

  11. Just finished Indie Game The Movie... I have mixed opinions. Its a great look into the creation of an indie game for sure, but it didn't feel like enough imo. Though the part at the end where Edmund starts crying when he thinks about inspiring a young child is probably a cinematic moment that will live with me for years now!

  12. Wow that hits close to home. The main two people I'm concerned about their reactions are my older brother and father, though there are various other family members down the line that would also have a similar brand of hate towards me. Sorry to hear you don't have anyone trust worthy to really talk to this about. I'm not entirely sure if who I told will keep their mouth shut, but we've been friends long enough that I think she knows when I really need her to keep something a secret for just a little while.
  13. This morning may have changed my life forever! So for those who know me on here, you all know I've been under a bit of stress for having to hide from the world my Pansexuality (attraction to all gender identities and physical sexes) in the fear of my homophobic family. Its something I wish I could just be more open about and not have to hide in fear about. Especially from my own family. Family shouldn't hate one of their own because of something they cannot help. Anyway, I used to only be able to discuss my woes about this sorta thing on private blogs or to friends on these forums. BUT NOT TODAY! This morning I was talking to my best friend. She herself is bisexual and often defends her gay brother. Aside from her being my best friend, she's the perfect candidate for someone I can trust with these issues. This morning I decided to break the news to her! And she accepted me in open arms! And man was coming out to just one person privately quite the experience on its own. It was probably the scariest thing I have ever done in my life. I knew I could trust her, but still... I'd just fear things going wrong in impossible ways. This is just something that causes a lot of stress and a lot of fear for me. But it went off without a hitch! She accepted me and agreed to keep things silent for now. Though she didn't quite understand my fears she has agreed to not tell anyone without asking me first. It was a scary experience that I'm still a little uneasy about, buy MAN does it feel good to feel accepted! I mean I've had friends on here who have accepted me for over a year now, but this is the first person who actually lives near me and is near and dear to my heart that knows this and fully accepts this about me! Its been quite a morning! Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy Hearth's Warming to everypony! And have a happy New Year!
  14. So... I just came out of the closet to my best friend... I don't know if I should feel overjoyed or petrified in fear!

  15. So any word on when exactly we can see this up?
  16. I thought it was just a fan made thing in celebration of this whole apocalypse thing. There are actually quite a few just like it including http://taxiderby.tumblr.com/finalhours/. I kinda like how last minute people are tying this apocalypse hype around Majora's Mask now. Its kinda fun to hear all this old music again! EDIT: The guy who made the site says he's releasing a sorta remix album for Majora's Mask when the time hits zero, so there's your answer!
  17. So Itoi may or may have not vaguely hinted at a possible Mother re-release. Its a REALLY vague scent, but its progress of something that HAS to happen!

      Interesting indeed.

Now if only there would be some kind of re-release of all three games. Hit 2 birds with 1 stone by giving 1 and 3 official English translations, and making 2 affordable.

  18. Man I've been sitting her blogging about reliving my GameCube days and you're here on my next step, the SNES! The SNES/Genesis era had to be my favorite era of gaming. I don't know what it is about games, but ever since they've moved to 3D rendered ultra-graphics, they seem very shallow. Of course there are major exceptions. but the SNES is probably my favorite system of all time. The games you have shown above alone can pretty much account for half my childhood. Seriously, I spent YEARS playing Super Mario World alone, but Yoshi's Island was the first game I beat (I didn't understand the save feature, so World was tough to beat in one sitting for a little kid). I didn't play much of the SNES library sadly until I grew older and discovered emulation. I got to play classic titles that I missed like Super Metroid, Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger and FF6 and of course Earthbound (my favorite RPG series ever). Though going back to games like Yoshi's Island or Donkey Kong Country just doesn't feel the same on an emulator. So I plan on making myself a SNES library in the near future of all my favorite titles! Oh and props to the game you have in the console! Yoshi's Island is my personal best game ever!

The episode aired on the 18th so that's what I marked for Hearth's Warming, thus making this Hearth's Warming Eve! :D

O_o I'd like to think it's Equestria's version of Chirstmas, so I always assumed it was December 25th like ours.

Then again, we don't know if they have our months yet, right?

They have Calendars at least though they kinda decide on the weather and day and night so really time is kinda irrelevant, but the fact they have calendars and some sort of organized season system proves that they try to emulate some sort of standard for time.

But yeah that's another way to interpret Hearth's Warming. I just like more holidays!

  20. "Remember the Sandy Hook victims." *Shows a picture of victims surrounding one BIG picture of a little white girl* How about we remember them all equally and move on.

  21. I think we tried to have one of these WAY back when the game first launched. I can't remember, but I may have even been the one to suggest it. I haven't really played the game in a long time! But I've been meaning to get back into it. And hey, my main character was on the Ebon Hawk server so I guess that works out fine, so I may be interested in joining if I get myself back into the game.
  22. You know what really gets on my nerves? People who can't get their developers right! Recently I had a discussion with my friends about the THQ Bundle that just went on recently, and I chose to opt out of. I didn't want to help the cause not just on principle or my opinion on the company, but mostly because I didn't care for the games they were selling. Darksiders, Company of Heroes, Red Faction: Armageddon and Saints Row The Third (if you beat the average). On paper this sounds like a good deal! These games I suppose were all $60 titles back in their day and now you can pick them up in one big package for under $10. That all sounds well and good, but all the games available outside of Saints I see as pretty shitty games. And I can't buy up this bundle to get Saints for cheap because I already own it. "What, you say you like Saints Row the Third, but you aren't willing to help save the people who made it in their time of need!" says one of my friends. True, if the people who made Saints Row were going down under and gave me a chance to help them out with my pocket change I certainly would, but this isn't the Volition Inc Bundle now it it! See my friend seems to have his developers and publishers mixed up. THQ is a publisher company who published these games. They didn't develop these games outside of maybe giving a few executive decisions to help the game sell better. And true publishers are an important part of of a game's development seeing that publishers are how a game sees a light of day, but it infuriates me when I see someone treating the publishers like they are the ones who made the title. And really I don't see THQ publishing many games that I find all that great so I really wouldn't care if the company died out at this point. Yes, Volition Inc would lose their main place to sell their games, but they could possibly find a new home elsewhere. Though this bundle only really scratches the surface of consumer ignorance. Nintendo seems to be the shining example on people forgetting about the developing company. When you see a First Party Nintendo franchise game, most of the time you just assume that Nintendo made the game. This can often be correct, but you'd be surprised that Nintendo has many other developing companies working on their big franchises. HAL Laboratory Inc., Retro Studios, Game Freak, Team Ninja, the late Hudson Soft, the "might as well be dead" Rare, and many more companies have made Nintendo titles in the past that seem to be forgotten. Though with most cases Nintendo does help develop these games so you aren't wrong in almost all cases by saying Nintendo developed the game, but usually these other companies do most of the heavy lifting and get forgotten. "Nintendo doesn't make good games anymore," says another one of my friends. Well, they have been giving their titles to other companies more and more often lately, but they still make games. Though perhaps you are too quick to bash Nintendo if you didn't like Metroid Other M (which was mostly developed by Team Ninja), and too quick to praise Nintendo for their Metriod Prime series (which was mostly developed by Retro Studios). They still make good games though! Nintendo EAD Tokyo made the Super Mario Galaxy games which I personally love. Nintendo EAD has made the Animal Crossing series and New Leaf looks fantastic! I feel the main problem with this is that people don't quite understand development process. Their only clue is the short showing of logos before each game launches and they just go along with the logos they are most familiar with which is usually publisher names. They don't understand that with most cases the company logos are both people who made the games and people who produced it and that there is usually a major difference between the two. I tend to care more about the development side of the industry. The production side is still VERY important, but in the end I have less respect for them because they aren't the ones slaving over making the games.
  23. You know what drives me nuts? When people mistake publishers for developers! I was talking to someone about The Cave recently and I told them to buy it because I love the developer. And then they asked, "Since when did you love Sega?" *Facepalm*

^I can especially relate to that. My brother: "Did you see the new (game being published by Nintendo) that Nintendo is making? Annoyin', I say.

Then again, there was a while where I brother called Samus "Metroid".

    3. Colon Leftbracket

      Colon Leftbracket

Well he might not be totally wrong on that one. Depending on which title he was talking about, Metroid has had many different developers in the past. I feel I enjoy the Nintendo in-house developed Metroids better, Fusion being my favorite. Though I do LOVE Retro Studios and the Prime games are still amazing. I hope Nintendo doesn't ask Team Ninja to develop for them again. Other M was only alright in my opinion.

    4. Nas

      Nas

Meh, I know the two companies about, but I always get the two terms mixed up. xD Like say, SSBB was developed by Nintendo, published by HAL? Is that right? :0 Dun kill me!

  24. So my Shirtness and Lucas shirts from fangamer should be shipping soon! :D

  25. I'm half tempted to trade in all my Xbox stuff. I know that seems odd since I'm taking my time now to recapture all my lost GamCube stuff, but I just feel no attachment towards my Xbox at all.
