Maybe it depends on ad availability in your location, because iirc I had only two per day. But still, I have better things to do than watch ads over and over again anyway. 

There definitely are multiple quests requiring purchasing either ponies or decorations (including that expensive town hall for 700 gems or something), both for gems. I've got stuck, and once I managed to collect enough gems, they came up with even more ridiculous prices.  Actually what's your level? Maybe you're just about to get those quests. 

Yeah I tried that too, but the game keeps punishing you for no reason. Literally just going to sleep meant giving up in the events and wasting all the progress you had so far. Trying to complete events was like an addiction everyone should avoid like fire. I tried to ignore all of this and play at my own pace, but honestly, one won't progress much by doing so and there's not much to do for casual players, who visit the game only once in a while anyway. There are only few activities to do, that quickly get stale, and lol, they still haven't fixed gamebreaking bugs after all those years despite people constantly reporting the same issues. I couldn't really enjoy it after some time, and being trolled by terrible interface was that final nail in the coffin.  The game expects you to tap decorations/"interactables" all over the place, but also places purchase buttons nearly everywhere. Genius designed that. 

I guess I just have better things to do, that's all.  If you enjoy the game, that's good.
