We'll find out soon. The movie was good. TYT is very cool what bodes well for the upcoming series I think. I wish this generation all the best and keep my hoofs crossed. About disregarding [...] I think the bigger problem is that some people don't allow others to think differently. Even if it is contrary to our belief. It was never a problem for me. Rather, I treat the opinion of others as an opportunity to get to know something new or deepen my current conviction. The most important thing is to have your own mind. Not forced and not manipulated. People who are free are great. And if someone attacks others because his thoughts, then he's their prisoner. But back the point we are talking... I'm not sure if people want to hear about "these" problems. Maybe it's important for younger audience (they are the real target at all lol) but for many it is rather a springboard from everyday life and a desire to break away from it. This is the main point. Not caused by time or place. A bond is natural. Social problems are artificial and material. Escaping to/from modernity, paying attention to racism, tolerance, declassification and others like these will not attract attention to this show. People don't get into fictional worlds to face social flaws from reality which are not part of them. Or maybe they are but they don't want to be. I think a lot of people have a problem with friendship. And many of them found in FiM what they really miss out of screen. I'm not saying that every pony fan is lonely, but we don't always have the friends we dream about. A lot of people are living into illusory relationships. They call themselves friends and bulls(@t like this despite being often aggressive and false. They have to because they afraid of stay alone. And some part is really alone. They found a type among the Mane which one they are or they found the type they want to meet in real life... however they have no such support or sense of security as they really need. I believe this is one of the most important reasons that people have become so attached to these characters. Everyone can find something for themselves here. Shy Flutter, confident Dash, smart Twilight, warm-heart Applejack, funny Pinkie or stylish Rarity... Lonely Luna, proud Celestia, rude Trixie and more more. Of course, FiM hits into problems too. So why do I doubt the new generation's chance when does it do exactly the same? Yeah, maybe both shows show some problems... but FiM was concerned with the timeless value of friendship. So in comparison, we have the timeless values of friendship and present modernity. The result is obvious. These are two other streams. And if it goes too much towards friendship... then we will get a new FiM - but as we said before, it cannot be. The new generation has to do something of its own. But you're right, it's the role of production team. Our role is to have fun. Anyway, I'm not saying it will fail or be bad. But it will be much smaller. And finally, it has to be shorter. It may turn out that everything I say is a trash and the issues of the new generation will be better and attracting more people into. And the things we're talking about are just a wall that created by us in our conversation. But to be honest I don't believe it. Sometimes I don't even believe myself. But I believe in numbers. And the numbers say here that people feel a bit disappointed because of the new generation. I won't say that I don't understand them, but I think it's a bit early to judge it for good. Personally I see that "how to be good friend" sells better to everyone than "We are all the same" especially here. Btw. Why haven't you stepped more into the G5 so far? Did you also watch the movie or just the first episode of TyT? I heard the opinion that the first episode was reeeally bad for many people. For me, too. But the Zipp's school, lost sunglasses, boxed Izzy and Tuesday were pretty fun. I'm just curious.

Lol, you are not the only one. I don't know what you mean exactly by "kill before it gets off the ground" but when I look at it then it seems to me like it's a project for two or maybe three seasons. It probably won't be truth if New Generation will spread its wings. We will find out it soon. But yesterday I was thinking exactly the same. Maybe that's just the way it is. The G4 was also planned for 2-3 seasons at the start. Business. Business as usual.

It's very accurate comment! I am a very emotional person. And I think I get too attached to the some characters that I liked. (I think I have to watch the other 6 FIM seasons because I only saw the first three, maybe I will stop missing them so much when I will do it and I will glad they didn't mess it up any more. I don't know, at least that's what I heard. ) I was very excited about the upcoming generation anyway and gave them a chance from the very first look. These are really okay characters, but still they stay in the FiM's shade for me so much. The worst part of this is that I can't change it... I think people are too philosophical here after all. We don't have a series yet... so we can't judge it. We have 4 productions so far. Three of them are practically the same about problematic. But if judging just because what we have so far, then they are probably very right. It does not aim to be at least half as good as FiM was. It's gonna be really much worse. At the moment I have the impression that the idea was only for a movie lmao. Anyway, the new generation will surely be a weak FiM. That is why it has to create something of its own and different. And that's why people have to judge it on a blank sheet of paper, not by sentiment. Only then it has a little chance to succeed in its own way. It would be nice if the fandom was at least similar to the old one. But I doubt it. FiM was warm from the beginning and had a friendly mood. And the New Generation tries to be more... modern? The ponies here seem to be more focused on themselves alone than on their friendship... I've felt this connection between the Mane6 since I watched the first episodes. And I don't feel it here for now in G5. It seems to me (or it's just me) that most people have fled into ponies' world to forget about reality for a while. Legends, mythology, unknown world, creatures, characters we know not from being super extra heroes, but just from being themselves with their many flaws etc.... In g5 we have internet and social. I have the impression that future G5 fights with antagonists will give us the impression of a teenage argument... but for example... I'm still quite impressed after Tirek vs Twilight fight. I try to be an optimist. But New Generation is average. This is average when I'm optimistic. I'm waiting for the series. This is the only right thing I can do.

Beautiful written. But it feels different when something is still going and when something is officially ended. For me difficult. But yeah... the fans sometimes do a much better job than the studio. I've heard so many cool concepts and ideas for episodes that fit this universe so much. And a lot of ideas just messed up too by the official director... The worst and the saddest part is canceled unfinished and unused content of course. But maybe this is the right line for fans(creators) I guess? I remember Double Rainboom - it was soo epic. I am a fan of many manga except MLP (7ds, OPM, Baki, AoT, Naruto, Kengan Ashura and more more more)... reading guesses, theories, conclusions from the fandom... mm, gosh - many times I had goose bumps because of epicness. Anyway in the end, history sometimes turns into a crap by creators despite such a background of cool ideas from fandom. Personally, I was hoping for some continuation with the G4. Even terrible pony life, or manga or comics... But for now, all bets are set on G5 I think. We'll see how the G5 handles it. It's a pity. I like new ponies, but still miss old six. Remember that G4 was supposed to have only 3 seasons. The G5 movie was really med. MYM was worse. (Maybe it was cool but in the name of god, the story is almost identical like the movie) And there is still a game. Well, you will not guess what the plot is... if someone tells me that the G4 had no ideas anymore then it's probably someone who hasn't seen the G5 so far yet. Almost 2 years have passed and we got three exactly the same stories. Really not bad. TYT is fun. But it doesn't let people to get involved. It remains to wait for a series that will have to do something or the G5 will be average that won't stand more than 2 or 3 seasons. And what's next then? back to the topic... I miss the most RD and Twilight but the whole world was important, the sense of humor and mood... it all allowed these two characters to find themselves perfectly there I think. The rest of the mane contributed a lot to my favorite two so I have to miss them too. After all, what would Rainbow be like without Applejack or Pinkie Pie?

A lot of people say that the G5 should go its own and only way. They don't seem to understand why some persons have any expectations about previous generation. As a big lover of FiM, I don't want to judge it blindly... however, I think that the number of things (like posters, Sunny's ribbons, even painting in episode "Foal me once" seems to show RD) tells us that this universe has any deal with the G4 so. Maybe these are just kind of easter eggs for us or maybe something more... but this can't be doubted. G4 is present in the current generation. The only question is for what? We will find out. So I have some hopes too but nvm, this place isn't about it... I just want to mention that it's justified. I watched a couple of episodes from TYT and it's pretty cool. They are very short but I start to like more and more the new characters. Especially Zipp and Izzy. I knew these two will be my favorites since watched the movie. But the movie was boring and too fast for me. I stopped following MLP because of this . And that was too short time to like them more then. But the episodes are working on it and every subtle detail allows me to feel the old magic in a slightly different version. Sometimes TYT is even funny, but I miss this mystery from FiM. Far lands, kingdoms, dragons, creatures... that was "mythological"? and wide. But here? The only danger I see is the inter-race fights, each time ending up losing the magic and fixing it. The world is boring. At the beginning of the G4, we had Canterlot, Cloudsdale, Everfree... Maybe it will grow. I don't know. It's still early... and Pipp irritates me a lot. (Maybe it's because I don't like influancers?) But not bad. From technical matters, I would prefer everything to stay in 2D. I fall in love with 3D from movie but when I saw MYM... I don't want to comment this. The expression is still epic, the work of shadows and lights is worse and the dynamic (like falling, flying...) is very VERY lame to me. I have seen smoother 3D animation made by one person from fandom here. btw. maybe it will be about G5 or not - but recently I found a cool Rainbow Dash concept based on TYT and I want to share it to somepony. She is soo phenooomenaaal but going back to G5. I finally want to get longer episodes. Still not enough things to judge it

Light movie. I mean it was really cool and calm. I think it worked well for the opening something new. I have the impression that there were much bigger plans for the movie, but not enough time to show them. I was also concerned that starting a new generation with a movie might be a fiasco. Well ... it wasn't like that. But the 2017 movie definitely got me more. I'm not saying this movie is less cool but... it's so different. And It's very subjective. We've known the characters for a long time in the 2017 movie. Maybe that's why this is my feeling about this generation. And if I hadn't known mane 6 before, maybe I would have thought the same then in 2017... but I still need to remember this is only opening. I hope you know what I mean... it could have been endearing, and it sure was a bit, but it still was very good I wish the new characters had more of their screen time. More adventure and mystery that was in the G4. I have the impression that I was only allowed to touch the cake. When I'd like to eat it whole. Alone. The animation is godlike. I'm looking forward to the coming series so much. I missed that mystical feeling we had in the previous series. Huge world with different lands, dragons, lord of the moon, all season ending antagonists [...] a well-known story of the protagonists and their characters . I hope there will be plenty of them in the episodes and we will get to know new characters more. I think the series will draw us even more into the world of G5. And I'm glad people liked it too. I have some hopes but I will leave them to myself. (I just don't want anyone to prove to me why some things can't happen but it's good to believe )

I hope she's not... even though I love Rainbow and Twilight the most of mane6 I hope Zipp will be intelligent, loyal and true to herself in her own way. Every character deserves it. To not to be a shadow of smth or someone. To be honest because of acting, short descriptions Zipp reminds me a lot Tempest Shadow (but after teaser we can suspect that even if her personality goes in that direction, she is more open and less proud - hard to say smth more about this, Tempest had very little time to "introduce herself on the bright side" and because her storyline I think even after she stopped being antagonistic, she was still alone despite the good relationship she had left in the movie but nvm) The worst thing they can make with her is a book nerd. My gosh I hope they are not going to do this, she's my fav and it would be nice if she will be resourceful instead of looking for book solutions like Twilight but nah I don't think so if they are going to make her bookish-especially after first look, where she spread her wings and cast her deadly glance in us, it seems she will be pugnacious and ready for boycotts. She looks like amazing in animation (although I didn't like her in graphics very much - like all ponies, hasbro graphics are strange, much MUCH more candy) and Liza's voice is so perfect (I recommend checking out her channel on youtube, she is gorgeous) James is cool too, but anyway all cast is great choice in my opinion.

Exactly... I can't too, I think TS is the smartest of 6 but she owes it to her friends right? And cmoon... how people can say that RD is dumb. She is the most practical pony ever - sleeples in Ponyville, hurricane Fluttershy (she is not so stubborn and knows where the line is... similarly in the episode where Scootaloo took offense at her friends. Dash knows what to say subtly and how not to press her) idk - the end in friend - she showed so many times she's cunning and resourceful. She impressed me especially in the episode about the wonderbolts' academy... And I agree that she doesn't like to think too much but it doesn't mean she's stupid. It's the only way to be like her. Think lazily and not too much. It seems to me that if she allowed herself to think more, she would be very helpless and lost. She just prefers to act than whimper like others. If we are to judge her by knowledge, then yes. She's maybe stupid in this part. But she is certainly not unintelligent or valueless. Her light spirit gives her a lot of lovers and haters at the same time.

can't wait to see them in action! I would love to see the Zipp in a different color (smth less girly) but if it is meant to be... others are really cool and I think they will look better in complete animation - I mean trailer or...

gosh these opinions are so accurate... this show had so much to show us more and we must to get a new generation - oh cmon... personally, I really liked the final and opening episodes. I really enjoyed the episodes going beyond these basic places where we get more adventure than lessons like you know... that's one about Spike when he tried to find out his own path or "Sleepless in Ponyville". Yeah they were really cool. Wonderbolts' Academy was epic and this one about Daring Doo when RD was trying to help her. The Movie the same - but when I watched it, I had an impression as if they had cut or forgotten half the stuff. (I don't need to develop my mind very much, just read others on the forum here , but that's understandable to me. The Movie was very dynamic and too short to implement the other characters too, and let us know that world more.) Anyway, I don't think writers have that much work. It will be enough for them to integrate with fandom and take some inspiration... because the ideas here are really great, very often better than the original as I see (fit the show very well... okay, I'm not talking about EVERYTHING like a Rainbow Factory or smth but this topic shows it so much) but they didn't. What a pity.

I don't feel these new characters, the animation is really great but... ew I have strong impression like the characters from FiM were "more smth"... 6 stand out from the background so much and I can't tell it about new characters (maybe it wont?) btw Zipp looks like really awful (omg... these pink eyebrow ) - I'm a big fan of RD and I hope see her in new version. RD wasn't girly and candy, I guess that's the reason I liked her from first meet. I don't hate anything I'm very happy to see the new movie, but I like the old characters a lot more from visually side... the new seem to be background characters to me. I'm curious if they will become a TV series after the movie or they won't. Not a really pegasis... I love episodes about TS, RD and other where they were part of the script but OMG... these two are only totally surpassed by Tempest Shadow she's so epic! I fall in love with her with first entrance on screen. I feel so bad she had only a part of story in The Movie but... she and it's the only reason that shows me that it is worth giving new cast a chance too right? I didn't watch the episodes without them because just didn't interest me and bored me. Without them, I don't see enough point in following the new MLP so... I can't say what I want but I'm more interested in the upcoming series than the movie... I hope the mane6 won't be abandoned and that's all. I wish our fav would get more adventures of their own. if I don't like something, I can always stay in what I like. So I'm not worried and I think there will be enough people like me.
