I agree, it's also possible that casting teleportation spells is simple but also a little exhausting, which is why unicorns rarely ever do CTRL+X and CTRL+V.
And good point! I agree that time-travelling spells sure would take the Equestrian logic and timeline to a whole new level. However, if they were so easy to do, then the show would just be boring. This is why instead of restoring their realm to a previous point in the past (PC reference) and make things boring, ponies would rather have fun dealing with how the realm already is and roll with it. Good thing the timeline was not altered at all in S2E20, but in S5E25 and S5E26, things could've gone a lot worse.
Imagine if Starlight Glimmer decides to sabotage Twilight's friendships, but in order to do that, she restores Twilight's computer to a point very long ago and deletes the file sonic_rainboom.exe that was responsible for executing the program cutiemarks.html. The program used for restoring the computer was created by Starswirl the Bearded.
See what I did there? x2
(this time, I tried to go a little wilder...)

Actually, unicorns don't seem to overuse teleportation spells. Twilight seems to be walking more than teleporting, and she's just teleporting from place to place when she really has to or only for show. In S2E03, Twilight has been teleporting all around the picnic while explaining to her friends why her letter to the Princess is so important. That is also my first time ever noticing Twilight teleporting (somehow, I completely missed the times in S1E03, S1E04 and after, before S2E03). Unicorns don't seem to be overusing the commands CTRL+X and CTRL+V.
See what I did there?

Thanks! See how similar unicorn magic and computer science are?
It also would be cool if people in the real world could use technology without devices and do stuff that are totally awesome, such as teleporting or having super powers.
And thank you! When I'll have time, I'm gonna make that video and post it here on MLP Forums. It's gonna be totally awesome!

Thank you, again glad you like the artwork of my pony OC... very much apparently, lol! And true, using bases sure makes the artwork look better, and redrawing can make it more original.
I also sure would love to be able to teleport, levitate, time-travel, use shields etc.! Anyways, let me tell you a few reasons why unicorn magic feels like technology.
Let's start with teleportation, now that you mention it. Teleporting an object in Equestria feels like selecting an object on your computer, then pressing CTRL+X and moving it somewhere else with CTRL+V. Levitating also feels like selecting an object and moving it around on the screen with your mouse. To make things even more awesome, the horn-glowing effect looks just like the transparent blue filter of selected objects on PC! Anyways, time-travelling spells feel like restoring your PC to a previous point in the past. The programming behind that also feels just as complicated as Starswirl's spell. Rarity's gem-finding spell feels like going to a site, pressing CTRL+F and typing "gems" in the search box. Unicorns writing text on scrolls also feels like typing text on a PC keyboard, because why not? There's also some less common spells in MLP that would work out very well as programs on a computer. For exemple, the spell that Twilight used in S5E24 to record Svengallop talking to Pinkie Pie feels just like recording something on your PC with OBS.
See? Unicorn magic is exactly like computer science!
I'm also looking forward to making a whole YouTube video about all this.

Well, glad you like the artwork of my pony OC! And indeed, using bases sure is very efficient! Just download a pony image from Google, draw lines all over that image, then delete the image and keep the lines. Boom! You got yourself a free pony border!
I also agree that unicorns are the most interesting pony race! Sometimes, I like to think that unicorn magic in Equestria works just like technology in the real world. And I've got many reasons to have this theory.

That's fine, I perfectly understand. You do you.
I also can't draw ponies without using bases to keep my art style perfect. My interests are also mostly just computers, games and cartoons. But at least I came up with the idea that my pony OC should be a unicorn with powerful magic and the same personality as me.

I also like all of the Mane Six including Fluttershy, but I just happen to like Fluttershy the least.
And indeed, that sure was an adorable Apple Bloom moment, although I don't think I have a favorite Apple Bloom moment.
And speaking of avatars, I'm curious, do you have your own ponysona or pony OC?

Glad you like Rarity and all those episodes!
I remember when I first watched MLP, and saw how Applejack ran and kicked that tree, then shook Twilight's hoof so much it literally got stuck shaking, then overwhelmed Twilight with food and with her family. Lol, I really liked how full of energy Applejack seemed over there!
Honestly, my mom fell in love with Rainbow Dash. But I still like Applejack.

Well, the problem with the player falling through the floor involves collision and physics, and the player getting stuck in mid-air happens because the gravity is not consistent. You need a variable for the Y-velocity of the player sprite and make it always try to change the Y-velocity by -1, while also having collision with the floor. The floor needs to push the player up when coming from above.
Nice graphics for the GameMaker game BTW! I really like this kind of graphics!

Oh yeah, I also like testing, but it's also extremely annoying when you notice a lot of problems with your game in a very short time, especially if most of these problems are impossible to fix. I rarely ever stumble into problems that are impossible to fix, but when I do, it's really annoying.
I'm also having more fun programming the sprites and building the levels.
